I wasn't sure. I had heard you could then you have it to use during the day...

Or do we still have to rent one in the park?

A few years ago my son developed a knee infection that was quite obvious. A CM noticed that he was limping around the pool and resort with a "hot" knee and made arrangement through guest services for a wheelchair for our entire stay. We used this chair in the parks, at Universal Studios, etc. Obviously Matt had a problem that developed on vacation, which is probably why we were given that type of assistance.
They actually wanted to admit him to Sand Lake Hospital but I talked them into leaving the hep loc in and returning to the ER for his iv antibiotics. We went back for a total of 3 doses and then he was switched to oral medication.

You can request it. It's not guaranteed, if you get one it's for the length of your stay, and you can take it to the parks. You will be asked to pyut down a credit card as a security deposit.

If you really need one, rent one from Care Med or one of the other medical suply places in Orlando, or bring your own from home, because there's no guarantee you'll get one from ther resort, especially int he busier times.

We've gotten one several times for elderly family members who were with us. True they are not guaranteed, but we've never had a problem (usually during Sept/Oct visits) getting one.

The great thing is being able to keep it and take it to the parks, and not having to rent a chair at the parks.

If they don't have one, there are companies in the area who will deliver to the resorts. You might have to wait a little bit for delivery, but they would probably always have plenty of "regular" wheelchairs in stock even on short notice.
