WalMart does price match. :cool1: That's how I got my bug in the first place.:cool1: I scoped out the carts yesterday at Walmart, and they had didly squat.

I'm going to be really good with this one today. I do not NEED any cartridges. And I only have 6.

Have fun witht his sale ladies!

I'm so glad to see the list of what M's has..........makes me feel better about my decision NOT to go to the sale:). The only cart on the list that I kind of want is HEA, but I am going to wait until after our trip to see if I need it or one of the Pooh carts more:). The thing that is tempting me more is the 50% off Cuttlebug stuff, but I am trying to stay strong!

Thanks to all of you for the heads up on the carts. :woohoo: Since I just had the four carts that came with my Expression I needed to shop! LOL! I stopped at 3 though. I got the Mickey and Friends, Mickey Font, and Christmas Cheer. Unless there is an intervention I'll probably go back and get the Jasmine and Alphalicious. :rotfl: I think I am officially addicted!

I have completed three pages for the new grandson and I am working on a Disney book I should have finished 4 years ago!!

Got there shortly after the door opened this morning. (I went to early church, so no problem there!) Picked up Opposites Attract and Doodlecharms. I'm set for carts now. (Though I don't have nearly as many as some of you!) I'll wait for Pooh to hit the stores and go on sale.

Wow! It was like the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas! I got to the Michaels about 3 minutes before opening and there were like 30 people outside! Not only did they have the cage, but the fixture that normally has the seasonal Martha items...one side and an endcap was just full of pegs with carts. But the ladies were all taking 3, 4, 5, 6 carts. I got my Paper Dolls, and my 20 rolls of ribbon (I need an intervention) and was out in less than 15 minutes.

I'm glad I went at opening though, because I don't know how long things will last.

I hit Michael's today too. I was the only one in the scrapbooking section too. In fact I was there two hours early:lmao: . I got so excited I forgot they opened at 10 instead of 9. I picked up four carts :Happily ever after, Dreams come true, Doodlecharm, and animal kingdom. I think I see a pattern here (disney). I already have the two Mickey's carts and have a total of 8 carts. I also picked up 5 spools of ribbon, two of the big Cuttlebug embossing folders and a very small black organizer bag. LOL

Hope dh doesn't see the 200.00 missing out of our account:rotfl2: I told him I was getting a couple of carts.

I got Cutting Up and Doodlecharms, as well as about 20 rolls of ribbon! I did get some activity books for DS, so it wasn't a completely selfish shopping trip. Let's hope DH doesn't inspect the credit card bill too closely this month!!

I also bought Claire the Cuttlekids and a few dies. She is sitting there right now bugging me to open it. DH put her craft table that is normally in the corner of the kitchen in here next to mine, so we can scrap together. She is too cute!:cutie:

For someone who isn't that crazy about her bug, primarily because I still have trouble cutting Bazzill which I use soley for cardstock, I bought 5 cartridges!! I got Dreams Come True, Happily Ever After, Fabulous Finds, Doodlecharms, and Alphalicious!

People were pretty aggressive right at 10 AM when I was there. I took the ones I wanted and a few extras to look at away from the rack. Then, I stood there and just watched people. Very entertaining!! They were carrying stacks!! The one that was mostly left behind was Paper Dolls, at my 2 local stores.

Just wondering...Do you all like Jasime cart.? Or, is the font too narrow to safely remove from the pad without damaging it?

So since so many of us bought ribbon, what kind did everyone get?

I've been buying the "spool of ribbon" (5/$1)the last couple of sales so now I have most of the colors in 1/8" and 1/4". Still a few more to pick up but they didn't have any left (like 1/4" black). And then I got a few rolls of the "dashes, dots, checks." ($1) I could have bought more but I was trying to be good (as if 20 rolls is good :rolleyes1)

I went to the local Michael's at opening expecting a small crowd and had the store to myself for 20 minutes. :) The DH said I had a 1 cart limit (he's stifling my creativity, or taking notes for our anniversary later this week). After much debate I picked up walk in my garden, but the Mickey Font was calling my name.

I went to Joanns too for their paper sale- I only buy patterned paper for specific projects and i hadn't gotten what I needed for swaps due over the next couple of months.

No, no funky bridesmaid dress.. I wasn't even invited in the bridal party but she keeps telling DD that the dresses are going to cost 200.00 each.. I told DD to tell her next time that DD hasn't even got permission to be in the wedding because no one has talked to her financial advisors and last time I checked DD didn't even do her chores at home and I know I don't drop her off at work! LOL

The colors she has are a coral peach and a brilliant blue.. I'll have to pull the colors for you sometime...

I know, I need to do it but I'm not into the whole group thing. I do have the points at home thing but I get in such a rut with food, especially cooking dinner. I have no idea how to point homemade foods.
Tomorrow I start! Now that it's getting warmer I can take DD walking again. I want to join a gym and they just opened Work Out World near here but I would feel so out of place at a gym. But then I feel guilty for not being home cleaning, yada yada. the typical mom cycle.

So I went after all. You know how I said I was going to stay home and scrap all day? Well the strangest thing happened. I got the urge to clean the house. That NEVER happens. So I spent the whole day cleaning the entire upstairs. I threw out 2 garbage bags full of stuff and the place looks terrific. While cleaning, I made myself a list of stuff I needed at Target. Somehow, on the way to Target, my car just drove itself over to Michael's! I got some ribbon and stickers and then I decided to get New Arrival. I end up doing a fair amount of baby-themed gifts and after looking at the prices of stickers I realized this was a much better investment in the long run. That makes 31 cartidges. Somebody tell me when the next Cricut Anonymous meeting is.

Now I really do plan to hunker down with some swaps for the evening. I'm hoping tomorrow morning I can tackle cleaning the downstairs, but today may have just been a temporary blip - we'll see.

Oh, and count me in on another one that HATES Jasmine. Impossible to use except in Shadow or in very large size. And definitely not with Bazzil.

I confess, I went there today too! Guess I just lacked the will power, but somehow taking a friend along made me feel less guilty!
Only got Doodlecharms, which I had wanted, a few stickers, one punch and some ribbon!! Spent the rest of the day scrapping and having a great time.

Thank God DH doesn't look at the credit card bills. I planned on getting Cutting Up, but they also had Base Camp and Alphalicious, so I got those too. Who can pass up $40 Cricut cartridges? :rolleyes1 So hid those and the book of princess paper that was on clearance. I started looking around at some other stuff and then decided I had better high tail it out of there before I found more stuff. I need to join the ban wagon. I have so much stuff I don't know what I have. I've even bought stuff I already have that I didn't know I had. Off to find the ban wagon thread.

I had a bit of a meltdown in Michaels - it sounds really dumb now that I'm home writing about it but... I was so excited - I wanted Walk in my garden and there it was on the shelf. I take it checkout and discover that they're out of that one. They had put all the cricut carts on a special display that wasn't even remotely close to the cricut or scrapbook section and forgot to take the empty boxes off of the shelf.

I asked if I could get a raincheck, since this wasn't my error but their's and the clerk told me too bad, basically and that the manager wasn't around. I bought Teardrop (is that a good one?) and left upset. Then I called the store asked to speak to the manager, who happened to be available, and she apologized, told me it was their error and I wasn't the only one who had that happen, and told me they'd call me when Walk in my Garden came in.

Do I sound like a complete idiot here?

No, you don't sound like a complete idiot!!! That clerk should have had more customer service.. it's not like you threatened to throttle her or anything... Good thing you called the store because at least you got on the list to be called when the cart came in. Now, are they going to give it to you at the sale price?

I have the Celebrations one and I'm not real keen on it. Too many balloons, and numbers and not enough words.

I do have beyond birthdays and I haven't used it a lot, but more then the first one. I don't make a lot of cards. But the ones I did make (other than Christmas) I used this cart.

No. They should have removed any carts that weren't in stock before such a big sale. That is just common sense folks.

Wish I knew, the Michaels I went to had quite a few Walk in my Garden. Did you want me to go check?

I was there yesterday and of course bought a cart! How long does this sale last? I was thinking of checking out other local Michaels this week to see if they have some of the newer carts (not likely I realize), but that means I will have to buy a few more since I cant leave a store empty handed!

My dd said I overreacted :confused3 The manager said that she was writing up a raincheck with my name on it for the sale price. I don't think I was the only one that had this happen. I wouldn't have been upset if the box hadn't been on the shelf.

I don't think you overreacted either. At least the manager did the right thing. Chalk it up to a worker with a bad attitude. I know I encountered one on my trip to Mike's yesterday.

I have Teardrop. I like it and use it a lot. I don't know the word I'd use to describe it - it's not fancy, but maybe fanciful? The "drops" at the end of the letters make it kind of fun.

I did want the disney carts but with the ages of my kids I don't see using them at all . I would love an amusement park cart now that I could really use .:rotfl2: :lmao: . I have it and like it. The font is nice, and I like the balloons and the "happy birthday" on it. DD picks that font frequently when doing school projects. I don't know how well it would do with Bazzill, though. I use a thinner, smooth cardstock with that one since the letters are kind of skinny.

I was able to pick up Paper Doll Dress Up today. I've really been wanting that one. (I didn't realize that they didn't do rainchecks on sales like that. Otherwise, I would've been there yesterday.) I picked up one of the Princess carts, but put it back since I'm on the ban wagon (PDDU is on my list of exemptions).

Now I just have to decide when the right moment will be to bring them in from the car. I need my DH to be out of the house so he can't see how much I spent this weekend. I honestly think I had a fairly new employee who really didn't care at all about the situation. Plus there was a line and she didn't want to bother with it. And I was very pleasant until she became rude with me.

I should have handled it better and insisted on talking to the manager while I was there instead of leaving the store in a tizzy!

I gave in and ended up buying Dreams Come True, Happily Ever After, Animal Kingdom, and Paper Dolls. I already had bought ZooBalloo and Makin' the Grade back when I first got my machine. I'm kind of hoping that Walmart might put 50 States on clearance (since Michael's doesn't carry it) because their regular price is $60, but that's still a little too steep for me.

How difficult is it to cut and piece the characters together? I've already purchased Jolee's for Belle & Ariel...but could use them as well or return them. :) I currently own:

George
All Mixed Up
Disney Mickey Fonts
Disney's Mickey & Friends
Going Places
Opposites Attract

I would like to get another font cartridge this week at Michael's...possibly in place of Happily Ever After. What is your favorite cartridge and why? :goodvibes

I would keep it, but that is JMO. The characters are difficult if you cut them too small, but there are lots of other fun things on the cart.

I'm not sure which one is my favorite. There are several that I tend to favor. I like Alphalicious, Base Camp, and Stamped. Cutting Up is really cute and useful as well. Opposites Attract is so versitile. And Paper Dolls has probably the most extra features that aren't shown on the box that can be used for tons of things.

Good idea. I bet Wal Mart would price match Michael's ad price for the 50 States, too.

That was actually something I tried to do this afternoon at my local Wal-Mart. I already had the Michael's ad in my purse, so I grabbed a 50 States cartridge and went to the checkout with it. I asked them if it was true that they price matched and they said yes, but they would need to see the ad. So I presented them with the ad and the woman sat there perplexed for a while before going over to the woman at the counter at the front of the store. That woman said she didn't think they would be able to price match it, but she would have to go and check in the back with the manager. So after waiting a while she came back and said that she was told no because "that cartridge is not in the picture." Keep in mind that the picture for the ad only has THREE cartridges in it (one of the princess ones, one of the fonts, and Paper Dolls). I pointed out that the picture really shouldn't make any difference because the writing itself says "entire stock of Cricut cartridges" and along with that "27 styles available." I tried to explain that to them, but apparently that didn't matter because 50 States was not in the picture.

At first I was going to take that and just go elsewhere, but then I decided no, that's false advertising for them to say they price match and then refuse to do so based on ridiculous reasons (had they given a more logical argument than "it's not in the picture" I probably would have let it be). So I turned right back around and asked the woman who had gone back to the manager if I could please speak with the manager. I thought that maybe it was like a game of telephone and something wasn't getting communicated to her properly. So she walked all the way back with me, went behind the doors with my ad and the cartridge, and came back about five minutes later telling me that everything was fine and I could pay for it. So they rang it up, no problem, but then refused to give my ad back to me because apparently they needed the entire thing as "proof"...so I lost one of my 40% off coupons in the process. :sad2: Luckily I had an extra this week.

So that is the story of how I got my 50 States cartridge for $39.99. I will remember the work that went into acquiring it everytime I use it for my class. ;)

Well, I had to work all day Sunday for inventory. My DH called the store for me to see if they had mickey font and cutting up in stock. I had written a specific list and those were the top 2. He spoke to a manager who said they had no idea what he was talking about, that they didn't have carts by either of those names. Needless to say I was angered.

On Monday I couldn't get there so Tues while DS had Group, I ran over there and was able to get both. Today I wen over to ACM to return Mickey font bought last week and price match My Community. So, I was a very bad girl and have added 4 carts in a week and a half. I won't need any more for a long time. This will give me 6 (George and Mickey and Friends) Now I just have to find a way to use them.

My Mikes had a lot of carts today just sitting out which they never do. I was shocked to see real product on the floor.

I went back to Michaels today but was strong and didn't get another cartridge. If they had had Doodlecharms, I would have. The cage was completely empty and there weren't very many on the rack by the door either . They had a lot of the princess cartridges and Alphalicious, a few Mickey & friends, Making the Grade and Fabulous Finds and then like 1 each of Animal Kingdom, Paper Pups, Walk in My Garden, Going Places. If it wasn't for everything going on here I would have bought Animal Kingdom, but I didn't need it that badly. Plus, I think we're going to Hobby Lobby tomorrow. :goodvibes

So, i get to work and after a good hour +, I created an adorable Native American girl. Can't believe it!! Tomorrow I'll feel good about showing my dgs how to make his own. Wow, I feel good. :thumbsup2 Who says you can't teach an "old " grandmother new tricks????? :confused3

Michaels doesn't have a sale every week, but on weeks they do you can find them on the website. This sale was for last week. Since you couldn't find anything this week, I'm guessing this is an "off" week.

There is usually someone who will post ads in advance on either the 2Peas message board or the Cricut message board, and if there are any really good deals someone will post it here too.
