Does anyone know if the stores around the resorts (on the WDW premises) sell Oxyball Laundry detergent? I don't think the state of Maryland sells them! I have searched everywhere....I really don't want to take down liquid or purchase dry powder just for these trips. Does anyone know where I can purchase them? :laundy:

BWV Dreamin - don't bother with them! I bought one on a whim at Walgreens, and they don't actually clean your clothes. You'll be better of finding some regular detergent

Ok to the other poster, I will not bother than! I'll just break down and buy some dry detergent, do the 'ole zip lock thing.

If you order from Garden Grocer to stock your villa, they have a 2oz concentrate, good for two loads. If you don't use it, you can take it in your 3-1-1 bag for the next trip.

I just order extra from Mousekeeping if I need it, though.

I haven't seen any tablet type detergent in a couple of years either though I did find this one online http://www.nhmade.com/nhstore/index.cfm/product/170/laundry-soap-tablets---eco-tablets-for-high-efficiency-washers.cfm

Those look kind of neat, Dean. But they are kind of pricey. I usually just go to the Dollar Tree and get a box of powder. It is small enough to pack, and if I don't want to bring the leftover home, I'm not out a lot of $.

I can't use real low quality detergents. So Dean's suggestions look very good for my needs. But others may do well with the dollar store. Dollar store for that stuff isn't for me.

Bummer Dean, the site wants $7.50 shipping for a $4.00 order! That would be a little high. I'll try surfing the web more....probably will have to buy that poweder anyway and do the zip lock thing.

It is small enough to pack, and if I don't want to bring the leftover home, I'm not out a lot of $.I collect the powder boxes from DVC and other timeshares. Since we normally drive, we simply carry our own liquid for most trips. That way when we fly, we have extras and the space freed up is helpful on the return trip.

I can't use real low quality detergents. So Dean's suggestions look very good for my needs. But others may do well with the dollar store. Dollar store for that stuff isn't for me.Maybe you can find someone that carries them directly. They did seem expensive overall but it was the only thing I found on a quick search. One thing to note is some timeshares that are hotel conversions are going with the all in one washer/dryer combo. They take forever but seem like a good idea overall. They MUST have HE detergent is my understanding. I know I've seen laments on people not being able to find the tablets the last 4 years or so since they quit making them in 2004.

dvc at last !

I went to that website and sign in for their newsletter.

This is where my Owner's Locker comes in handy. I keep powder inside a Tupperware container. I am set for at least 3 trips. That says a lot for a family of 5!

They stopped making Oxyballs. They didn't really work very well. As others have said, I am going to have an Owner's Locker the next time I go, so I can keep regular liquid detergent.

What timing. I was looking thru one of my catalogs last night and saw these and was thinking how great they would be for our new DVC stays! I've never used them but was thinking about giving them a try. Expensive compared to traditional detergent I know, but cheap compared to buying those little individual boxes when they sell them in the laundry room.

Ok, how much is the shipping on them? They look just like what I want, but at $28.00, I would hate to pay shipping on top of that!

Here, I did a search on the product and found the direct website. It appears it's approx. $25 including shipping if you purchase directly. They're in Canada so I don't know if there's any other fees. Here's the link.....
http://www.nellieslaundry.com/Order-Form.html The other site is a reseller and would want $7.95 for shipping.

Go to your nearest laundry mat and bring you quarters and buy some boxed from the machine.

I used to love the Tide Tablets but they stopped making those a while back. I used to send them to the dorm with DD's too.

I used to have access to a commercial laundry detergent. It came in plastic bags about the sive of a single serving salad dressing pouch. You just ripped the pouch open and threw the bag and all into the laundry.

I have made my own version with All Small and Mighty. I put enough for a single load in a zipper sanswich bag. (Make up as many as I need.) Then the sandwich bags go into a quart size zipper bag which gets put in a hard plastic ziploc storage container.

When I do a load, I open the sandwich bag and drop it into the load with the clothes, not worrying to empty it. When the load is done, the bag is soap free and I throw it away before transferring the clothes to the dryer.

I just bought these on line....11.99 plus free shipping for 7/2 -load packs. No tax, so I think this is pretty good for online. Only store that sells it here is Walmart that is 11 miles away from me. So if you factor in gas, this is not too bad. Thanks to all my Disboard friends!! I knew you could help me with this!:thumbsup2

I'm so glad I popped into this thread! I'm going to our local Target today to see if they have the Dropp's; if not, I'll order on-line. Perfect for our Owners Locker!:)

I just searched the budget board for freebies and signed up for free samples of detergent. I save these all year long.

They are for 1 load, sealed up and easy to use.

I was shopping at Target and they have a great isle full of travel size products. I bought 2 small bottles of ALL detergent (enough for 4 loads). These will easily drop into a sandwich size ziplock for travel.
