Well this is me signing off. Bags and van are packed. Work done (for now). Me and my caravan are headed south in the morning. Dad's gotta get his mohawk haircut at the MK Barber Shop. If you are down this month and see a girl zooming by in a pwc chasing an old guy who looks like an escapee from Neverland Indian Bay, say hi.

I'll probably be checking in through the next few weeks so if I see anything interesting or can answer any "in the now" questions just PM me.

Now if someone could please just spread a little pixie dust around the weather forecast. A little bright sunshine is what I'm craving.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to check-in after our first full day in Orlando. Your well wishes must have come in handy on our trip down. As soon as we crossed into NC Saturday we hit two days of rain. Sunday night driving through I-4 was wall-to-wall traffic and multiple accidents. From what I was told, the Pirate & Princess Party was down to 2000 people that night and all the characters in the parade donned umbrellas.

Today (Monday) it dried out some. I had planned to be at EPCOT originally since I had a feeling it would be packed at MK. But my dad just had to go get his mohawk haircut at the Barber shop. He took his sweet time to since he wanted to wait for his favorite barber (Penny) to return from her lunch break. So here he is... Grandpa Mohawk 2008:

Yes, that is a 76 yo PhD with a purple mohawk and pixie dust. The purple is for his Baltimore Raven fandom.

The only sad thing for me is that I can't go 20 feet before we're stopped by someone wanting a picture. We lost count at some 30 photos today. And folks have even started asking him for his autograph. It's like traveling with a rock star.

Weather is nice. Magic Kingdom was the crowdest I've seen it, and that includes last NYE. A lot of folks are here on Spring Break. But hopefully they are headed home in the next few days. I miss my mostly empty parks. Wait times today were in the obscene levels (120 min for Haunted Mansion at one point). We skipped most rides and just had a nice lunch at the Plaza (thank goodness for ADRs), rode the Liberty Belle, the train, IASW and saw Country Bears.

Tomorrow (or is that today all ready), I'm sleeping in. After two grueling days travel and a full day at MK, you need some downtime.

Sounds like you are having a good time, except the wait times. We will be in the parks for a few days after our cruise next week. I can't wait and am hoping for warm and sunny weather.
