Refillable mugs

Has anyone had any experience with the beer mugs you can refill at a lower price? DOes the 10$ initial purchase come filled? Can you buy them anywhere on board? Can you take them into the Rests? Good deal or no?

It has been nearly a year and this old brain doesn't function well at times but here goes.

No, the mug does not come filled the first time.

I believe you have to purchase them at the ESPN sports bar. I requested one at Topsiders bar and the bartender asked me to wait just a minute. About 10 minutes later he came back with my mug. He had run up to ESPN to get me one rather than telling me to go get it myself.

You can use it to purchase beer at any bar that sells draft. I never carried mine into resturants and did not see anyone else do it.

I was very pleased with my mug. It is heavy glass and hold 16 oz I believe.

I have read that they have replaced it with a plastic mug this year. I hope not.

You could tell the best bartenders. They would take the mug and fill it with ice and wait on another customer while it chilled. They would then dump the ice and fill it with beer. The first time I saw them fill my mug with ice I thought "Is he crazy".

Enjoy and remember that they add gratuities to your bar bill automaticaly.

In July they served the glass mug filled the first time. They were selling them on deck 9 near the adult pool area. He gave us a can of beer to fill the mug with initially.

Please tell me more about these mugs...I see that they are $10.00, but how much is the refill? Also, what is the price of the regular beer...Im curious if it is really a deal.....

The deal is that you can get 22 ounces of draft beer for the price of a 16-ounce draft beer. The price is $3.25 for Budweiser or Miller Lite, and $4.00 for Heineken.

GREAT DEAL for those mugs!!! Dave is right on the prices.....actually my miller lite (after built in tip) was 3.74 and you get 22 oz of draft instead of a 12 oz can for the same price. We always had our mugs with us. Take a look at my picture thread (there are 2) on this board....I have a pic of my beer mug. You can either get an ESPN or one that says Disney Cruise Line on it.

The initial charge of 10 did include the beer too. We just got back on Saturday!! We took them to some restaurants too.

Thanks so much for the info, my DH and I decided we will get it and then even if we don't carry it around with us all day (and we might) we will at least bring it out at night when we go to the bars....
