I need some help here...please....have any of you ever made one? I'd love to see how they turned out. Also, what's the easier way to make them?
thanks for all your help....

love making them! :) they are pretty easy. I use 3 bags and fold them in half, then lay them one on top of the other alternating the closed end and the open end. I usually leave about 1/2 inch for the spine part so I think that my paper size is about 5.5x6 inches. here are 2 that I have done. maggie

ps: just do a search over on 2 peas and you'll find all kinds of bag books. :)

The best thing is, they can be as simple as you like or you can go completely overboard too. If you look them up on ebay, you can get a great idea of what they look like without pictures already in them. That is were I got my templates from when I did my bags and why my bags looked the way they did. Here is my pooh one -

I did a small one by using lunch bags. It was fun and they are super easy. I made it for DS when we went on vacation to a water park

Mine was made with the larger size lunch bags. I've made them with the smaller size too, but with those you don't fold. You use them flat and they will hold a 4x6 photo on each side.

ok i have a few ?'s (you knew i would right!!!!!)
there are 2 different size lunch bags?
because i was thinking just the regular old bad i use to take to school when i was a little one (long time ago:rotfl: )
and which ones dont you fold? the bigger size or the regular size?
and what happens to the pages that have the bulky bottom of the bag spot??
when you cover it with paper is it not hard to do where it's so bulky?
and i google them and saw the some have pockets on the front. is that something they just glued on?
and one of the sites said you should sew it up the middle. do you guys do that? 'cause sewing just aint my thing!!!!!!
ok that's enough for now......

I don't do sewing either! Fold them really hard (leave under a pile of heavy books maybe) then punch a load of holes with your CAD and tie with ribbons

Did you use a crop a dile for the hole punches or something else..... oh I guess it could be regular whole punch cuase it is not in the middle or anything

I went out and bought the crop-a-dile just for this project... the regular hole punch wouldn't go through the entire stack..and I was afraid of mis-aligning the holes and the pages be off...
I tried to use the hole punch/hammer first.. oh, yucko.. never again... best money invested was for that crop-a-dile!

I used the larger lunch bags from Target (they are a little larger than regular ones). I folded them in half for making my bags. I did use my crop a dile to punch the holes because it is stronger then my regular hole punch. I only punched through one folded bag at a time. I took a scrap piece of cardstock that was thin and used it as my template for the holes.I sort of hand sewed the ribbon or fiber through the wholes and then tied more around the to leave tails off the spine. I just covered over the bottom of the bags the same way I did any of the other pages but some people opened it up and used the flap (stuck paper under it and on top oif it.)
I used double sided tape to stick down the brazzil cardstock I used for the pages and found it did a good job. I used a lot of tape though- probably a roll for every 2 books that were 3 bags (6 pages) each.

If you are willing to pay for supplies and postage I would be willing to punch the hole with my cropadile. It really doesn't take to long but any good hole punch will do.
