we always stay at the Hilton and will be again on Tues!!!! we have 3 kids (7, 5 & 3) we get there about 3pm - checking in, then go to the virgin desk and get rid of our bags (I dont do online checkin, and have not had a problem with our seats) then we have a wonder around, get our mags etc for the flight then head to Pizza Express, have early dinner - by then the kids are getting tired so back to the room - bath, tv and bed!!!!!

Once you have selected your seats online they become grey and are no longer available for anyone, except you and VA, to change.

We used the Hilton recently for the night before our flight. We checked into the hotel around 3pm and then got an early dinner in Pizza Express. Once we'd done that, stocked up on magazines and nibbles for the flight it was back to the hotel for a bath and a bit of TV. I guess if you wanted something to do you could watch the planes from the viewing area at LGW, there was one although whether it is still there I do not know.
We did on-line check in before leaving home and that was fine. No queue for the bag drop on the morning of departure. On way home we used Downtown Disney and were worried that the seats we'd reserved would be altered. We were lucky and they were as we wanted.
Hope you have a lovely trip.

We do pretty much the same, although last trip we also did on-line check in, so we knew we had our seats before dropping our bags off :)
Our kids are a bit older so we have a nice meal at Frankie and Benny's and a good look round the shops before retiring to the hotel room and either play cards or watch TV :)

We fly in from Guernsey on sunday morning, to stay overnight at the Hilton.
As we have few shops and no trains, we will hop on the train for a ride to
Crawley and a look at the shops. The kids get excited at the thought of a train ride.
Monday morning we are off to ASMO for 2 weeks
can`t wait

When we've stayed at the Hilton in the past we've got there at 3pm, checked into our room then headed straight over to the airport to do Twilight checkin.
We've then gone back to the hotel for a swim, up to the room to change and a cuppa, then walked back over to the airport for a quick nosey around the shops and dinner.
The swim cossies dry out nicely overnight, so they just need to be packed in hand luggage.
Enjoy your stay:thumbsup2

The swimming pool was removed quite a while ago, so that is no longer an option, BTW Sofitel have also taken their pool away :(

I would check into hotel & then do twilight check in straight away, it's so good to get rid of those bags the night before. I wish Virgin did it at Manchester.
do lots of walking in airport to see planes look in shops etc to tire out your 6yr & then bath & bed.
Have a great holiday
