We'll be there October 6-10 (3 adults, 5yo DD, 3yo DS). Staying at GF then leaving on the 10th for a 3 day cruise. First time as a family to WDW.
Hubby and I went 6 yrs ago when we took a youth group to a conference down there...stayed in the All Star Sports. But we've decided not to even count that as a visit. Overriding memory is of the night I spent in the emergency room of the hospital cause one of the kids cut his finger off on the door lock bar thingamajig.

I've been waiting patiently for this question! We are! We are! There will be three generations of us...Myself, my DD(28), and my DGD(7)! We will be there from October 25th -November 3rd. The first three nights we're staying at CSR, the last 5 nights AKL! MNSSHP here we come! Planning on going to the party on Halloween night, but can change if we get a mini DIS meet on a different night!;)

We're booked for Sept 28th to Oct 11th at All Star Music -- but whether or not we're actually GOING is another question that only the outstanding balance on the line of credit can answer ! I'm certainly hoping to go, but finances will be the determining factor since we need to buy new AP's. I too could use some Disney Magic right about now. It's now officially spring and it's snowing here today.

I think I remember reading here that they start selling tix for MNSSHP around August or so. If we all do the Halloween party on the same night, maybe we can make PS's for LTT and meet there! I think they do special things for the party but I don't know what! Let's see, if the party starts at 7, we can make ressies for 6 o'clock. It would be a hoot seeing each other all dressed up for Halloween! Especially since we've never met before!LOL
Ya know, we've got to remember to do an Illuminations cruise too!:bounce:

We are going to be staying at the Swan from October 22nd until November 2nd. Hoping to spend a lot of time at Epcot at the Food and Wine Festival, and I think I've managed to convince my spouse that attending MNSSHP would be fun. It would be great if there were some sort of a get-together, as both of us would love to get to meet other people who love WDW as much as we do!

We'll be there for Halloween. Have done two Halloweens at WDW and it is my favorite time of year. Last year we did Christmas/New Year's instead, so we didn't do Halloween. I went through withdrawal and swore that I would never miss Halloween at WDW again. I made good on my promise. Hope to see a few of you folks there.

For those of you going to WDW in October, I am putting some photos from "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" into my on-line photo album. I am not done with it yet, but you should be able to see a few photos now. Sorry that I haven't updated the captions, but my little daughter is pretty sick so I need to log off my computer right now and play my favorite role, that of Mom.
Janet2k's "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" photo album (http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/janettwokay/lst?&.dir=/Walt+Disney+World/Mickey%27s+Not+So+Scary+Halloween+Party&.src=ph&.begin=9999&.view=t&.order=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/janettwokay/lst%3f%26.dir=/Walt%2bDisney%2bWorld/Mickey%2527s%2bNot%2bSo%2bScary%2bHalloween%2bPart y%26.src=ph%26.view=t)

Too bad I can't send you my videos of the party (the MPG files are way too large) -- the music, the lighting, the eerie touches, the parades, and everything else about Halloween in WDW is just too cute. You have to be there to experience it.

jeank74-
The "bump" question is actually asked often. It is def. not a stupid question. When someone writes "bump" in the text area of the post, it means they have nothing to add, but they would like the topic moved back up to the top of the page to possibly get more replies :) In essence... "bumping" the topic back up to the top.

Disney Doll - Happy Early Birthday! I am one month older than you (doesn't that make you feel good?) and this is also a "40th" celebration - except we're bringing the kids...We'll be having a different kind of celebration!

We'll also be at the BCV from 10/13 to 10/21 in a 1BR! Yes, we also LOVE DVC!!!! We go down for the golf tournament and last year, we not only got to enjoy the Food and Wine Festival, but MNSSHP also! We went on the third night available I believe! We are also hoping to enjoy the activities this year also. The absolute best part was the parade with the headless horseman, all the villains, and the scary makeup! We really loved dancing with the characters in Adventureland and having our picture taken FOR FREE! right outside the Pirates. My daughter loved the "trick or treating". It's a great time and should not be missed!

We have two families - 4 adults and 8 children (5 are mine) going in October
Staying at BC 10/10 - 10/12 and leave on the 4 day Wonder cruise 10/13. Thanks to these boards we are going to have a great time and not miss a thing. My DW and kids think I am obsessed with the planning of this trip (I am). For my family of 7, it is our third trip to Disney and our first cruise, for the family of 5 it will be their very first Disney experience.
The boards are the reason we selected the cat 6 room on the ship as well as the Beach club, I hope you are all right!
Just trying to decide whether to add the transfers - I know we can do the arrangements cheaper ourselves for this many people, but I saw a tip for doing AK on the departure day to Port Canaveral and the Disney transfers would make that a lot easier
The kids range in age from 9-19 - See you all there!

Nigel-bigel, the MNSSHP tickets have sold out for many dates during the past few years, so if you know that you will be at WDW for Halloween, definitely buy them in advance. You also asked about the Pirates Cruise. The following info was taken from the www.disneyworld.com website:
- - - - - - -
Name: Pirate Cruise
Location: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Description: Offers children ages 3-10 a pirate adventure, complete with bandanas, following clues and searching Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon for buried treasure. Two cast members, including a lifeguard, accompany the group. $24.95 per child, includes PB&J lunch with Gummy Bears, Rice Krispy treats and fruit punch box. Children must be potty trained, no pull-ups. Must cancel 24 hours in advance or pay full price.
Hours: Monday and Thursday 10 a.m. till noon
Information: (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463)†.

As I mentioned before, my daughter (and niece & nephew) has done all three of the GF's children's activities many times and has always had a wonderful time. She'll be doing them again in October.

For last year (2001), here was the info for MNSSHP (I got this from some old DVC literature):
- - - - - - -
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
October 21, 26, 28, 30, 31, 2001- 7 pm -12 am
Gather your little ghosts and goblins for this one-of-a-kind event, which celebrates the fantasy of the Magic Kingdom® Park and Halloween. Enjoy a parade, trick-or-treating, “Boo To You” kids’ costume parades, special shows, and fireworks. You’ll also receive a complimentary family photo.
Advance tickets for adults are $25.95 plus tax; tickets for children are $22.95 plus tax. Call 407-W-DISNEY for tickets and information.
- - - - - - -
Again, that was for the year 2001. There is no guarantee that Disney will follow that same schedule this Halloween. Keep an eye on the www.disneyworld.com website for the most up-to-date information (they’ll probably be posting it in the summer).

Hi Susie2 - Welcome to the DIS!:D
My family of 5 will be at the October 11 MNSSHP also. I did a thread on who all was going on that night a while back, and found there will be several of us! Also have priority seating at the Liberty Tree Tavern at 5:40 to begin the festivities a little early (and to get the kids to eat something good for them before they eat all that candy ;) ), have you made these dinner reservations? The weather should be great in October, hope you have a wonderful holiday at WDW.:D

Luv2Travel: Hi. Me again. I have PS for 5:50!! Too cool. Will you be in MK before then or go in time for the PS with just the mnsshp ticket? I'm not certain what time MK is closing, but will they let me through the gate then? I'd really like to save a day on my park hopper and, the big thing, have the little ones take an afternoon nap!
yepod
06-03-2002, 06:49 PM
lorilori-I was told by the CM that sold me mine for the 25th that as long as you have your MNSSHP tickets with you at the gate (in your case like 5:20ish) they will let you through (maybe escort you to the restaurant) so you can make your PSs on time with out a day pass.
The CM wasn't clear about the escort or honor system but assured me you could enter early. That's why they're selling them before the normal 60 out rule this year.
It takes some persistence from us (the guests) to get this information (I was informed earlier by a PM from someone on this thread THANKS!!!)
If I were you, I would call myself and confirm this.

Haven't made up our minds yet about MNSSHP. We both seem to feel that it's an event mainly for the kids, but some of the pics we've seen definitely look interesting. Any thoughts as to whether two adults would enjoy it enough to cover the admission?
Also, do they do anything different with the Haunted House around Halloween?

Zurgswife,
Hold onto what you have for Chef Mickeys and wait until your 60 day mark and try one of the other restaurant. Last year we ate at Tony's before MVMCP at 5:15 (not crazy about the food). You might want to try to get something inside the park, even Plaza Restaurant or Cindys if they are still open for 5:00ish ressie. You should call 60 days out exactly so at least you'll get a chance at something inside.

Don't skimp on your Disney Honeymoon! To me, the wedding was just the formality before I got to go to Disney World!
Book the Honeymoon Grand Plan and live it up. Disney will definately spoil you rotton...just let EVERYONE know you are on your honeymoon!
We did it five years ago and spent a fortune and never regretted it.

Good morning October travelers. Just wanted to pass on some info. I was on the phone yesterday making my PS' and the CM was wonderful. Anywhoooo I asked him to check what Oct. 29th looked like for the Princess Breakfast at Norway. Thinking it must be full but he says "oh yeah what time would you like". It sounded like there was lots of room that day because he gave me a few choices for times. I had no problem with any of my times. So if you don't have your heart set for Cindy's you should give the Princess breakfast a try. 9 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!

We are going as a family for the first time from 10/2 - 10/10. First at the BC, then on the DCL. We are coming in a day early and staying at the Courtyard at Downtown Disney, so we won't waste our package on going to the Walmart, etc. We'll check in at the BC at 7:00 a.m. the next day! My Mom & DS (1 yr. old) will be there the whole time. DH will join us for the WDW portion, but not the cruise. I am so excited!!!

First time for everyone (except a high school band trip for me)! I too was hoping not to battle crowds (and lose a kid, LOL) on our first visit.
We are not doing MNSSHP but I would be interested in hearing from anyone else going at that time.
