I think this is pretty cool that we can basically trade till we fade. At this point we'll prob be there as we have a late flight home on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to a smaller pin trading venue.

Anyone know where the dinner is held and what is on the menu?

The dinner will be held somewhere in the park. Given the focus on Everest, I think they'll setup tables, depending on weather, out near the attraction.

Food, I'm sure they'll try to make it themed, but it will be normal event food fare, chicken, beef, seafood, salad and desert table.

I am so glad that I signed up for the Minnie since this may be the last year that it will be the "Minnie". I want the family to have medals of every fab four character.

Maybe I will see you at the event even though you will be WAY in front of me.

The Minnie is a 15K....AND there is a PIN !!

The race starts at AK at 6:15 and we have to run at least a 15 minute mile.
We run to the Wide World of Sports and then to Disney Studios.

Mile 6 is in Disney Studios and then mile 7 is along the Swan/Dolphin , YC, and BC and then on to Epcot.

Since I will be right in FRONT of the sweepers , I hope make it to International Gateway around 8:00 to 8:15. Will you be imbibing that early? :rotfl:

Susan - us? Keep you up late? Must be some other friends you're thinking of. Just because we may be up till 2:00 am trading, then I'm thinking breakfast (must be some 24 hour place someplace near). By the time we finish, it should be time for you two to line up. Or wait! Maybe we should go to the Adventurers Club? That would give you at least a couple of hours of sleep.

Since it will be early in the morning, maybe a mimosa at the finish line? Anybody know what time the bars open?

I got the medal and the pin to prove I ran at Disney. It is truly a right of passage.

Anyone want to trade my Donald Medal for a Mickey Medal, any year is fine.

Susan, what about staying up late on Friday night? That gives you time to rest!!

It's legal to run in the parks for pins during the Marathon's, as the CM's do have Lanyards, so you can run from CM to CM trying to get good Lanyard traders. You can even set a goal to trade at least one pin per mile, so it minimizes the extra load of carrying your big pin bag. :)

Otherwise, Disney does this line drop thing when they open the parks and it's just encouraging anyone who is there to RUN!!!

Scott - Mickey for '09 still has openings!!!! I was foolish enough to sign up for Goofy again - I just love that pin.

There is also a 5K on Saturday - different pin - I feel the need for the weekend set!

We had a great time. Still a little tired as I left at 4 in the morning and was at work at 10:30 and have not stopped yet. But I must say the event was fun. Did not trade much but it was nice to see all my old friends. Oh and the AK part was great as well. Good food!!!
