The lady at the post office said that the Flat Rate box that I had was a bit "bowed" and that they couldn't accept it as it "clearly states that the box has to be in it's original shape. Well, I told her that yes, it is a little overstuffed in one area, but if she wants me to, I will open the box right there and rearrange everything in a new box. So this woman measured it, it was less than 1/4" more than it should have been. :confused3 (I don't recall the exact measurements at the moment, but say if the circumference of the box at it's thickest part was supposed to only be 38", mine was 38 1/8") I could see if the box was busting at the seams and you couldn't close it or if it was in jeopardy of breaking open during shipment, but the box was neither of these. She told me that she wasn't sure that the package could be accepted like that and that it might be shipped back to me instead of my exchangee :scared1: So, we will have to see what happens. I have mailed plenty of these boxes before without any problem and they were much more stuffed than this one is. Just hope my exchangee receives it.

Got my box of goodies today from Passions71203! :goodvibes Good items, and great sizes. These are all perfect to take into a movie theatre -- or just watch a movie at home. (I did buy Enchanted last week.... Now I have an even better excuse to watch it. ;) )

The box contained several snack size candies including Hershey bars, Nerds, Bottle Caps, M&Ms :lovestruc , Pixy Stix, Smarties, Wonka candy, dum dum suckers and SweeTarts. (Feel like I went trick or treatin' without having to dress up or go anywhere. :lmao: :banana:
Then there are also two movie theatre size boxes of Sunburst and Skittles.

I didn't even hear the truck. I just looked out the door and there it was. A beautiful box full of Mrs. Sees Milk Chocolate with Soft Centers. My youngest is really wanting to eat dinner - right now - so he can have one for dessert.

a package of Fudge Shooe Caramel filled cookies (which I almost bought for myself yesterday)

a box of Cheese Nips (I love these, so does my dad)

I just had a delivery (very nice smelling one too :thumbsup2 ) from bobbiwoz. I got some PF Milano raspberry cookies (which I have never tried and am SO excited to try because they look delish), PF Pirouette mint choco cookies (again, never seen and SO excited!), Jelly Belly jelly beans (my fave!), Mentos, a HUGE box of Junior Mints which I wil have to hide from my DS because just yesterday he said he was craving some!, and a bag of Crayola Jelly Beans - which must be healthy because they are made with real fruit juice!

Thank you so much - I am in sweets heaven and it came at the right time. I was having a crappola day, but it just looks better with all this sugary goodness sitting in front of me:cheer2:

By the way, I visited the U of BC once because it was mentioned in a guide book as a wonderful place to visit, and since then I've told everyone I know who plans to go to Vancouver to go and visit that school. The nice thing is, with the cookies, if someone is watching their weight or has health restrictions, they have some really good sugar free cookies, and those 100 calorie packs of cookies and snack cakes now.
So if that happens to be a concern for anyone they can request those. Just something I remembered because I saw them in the store today.

I hope you enjoy all of it, based on your likes we weren't sure about the rocky road candy, but it said you liked Toffee Almonds, since it had Almonds and was cheap we thought we would send it.

He got tons of cool stuff that he has never seen before - I can't even name it all! Some Flying Saucer sour thingies that he is just loving, a HUGE lollipop, some chocolate, some tape gum (Hubba Bubba) that is cool because we have something similar here, but not quite the same - different flavor and this has dots of color in it. Some cookies and lots of little sweeties that will keep him happy and hyper for LONG time to come (as long as I can keep him out of it long enough to come up for air and to brush his teeth every now and then :rolleyes: )

Just so happens I have Delivery Confirmation recent story too (non-Dis related).
Let's just say the lesson is -- Don't waste your money on Del Conf. It only tells the post office the item was delivered (supposedly). They don't guarantee or care to whom.
I have had people say it is a waste of money. I use to use it more than I do now. I have been trickling off.
Really for what it cost there is nothing I mail that would make it all worthwhile.
Twice it did help when I had traders who said they did not get the item I mailed, only to find out they looked harder and found it afterall.
But all the times I have used DC and only twice was it any kind of help really.

Oh -- and from my experiences the person who the item was suppose to have been delivered to has to contcat the USPS.
I e-mailed earlier this week (maybe last weekend :confused3 ) and got an reply right away.
Here was their e-mail in part:
Since you have not received this item and we show that it was delivered, I will be happy to document the problem for a resolution. However, I need some additional information so this can be sent to the correct office and you can be contacted. Please reply to this email with the following information:

- Your home telephone number
- Full name of the sender
- Address of the sender
- Full name of the recipient
- Address of the recipient
- Type of mail (letter, large envelope, package, large package, or unknown)
- Class of mail (Express Mail®, First Class Mail®, international, military, Periodicals, Priority Mail®, Bulk Mail, Parcel Post®, Media Mail®, or mixed class)
- Services added (Certified Mail™, Registered Mail™, Return Receipt, Merchandise, Insured, C.O.D., Signature Confirmation™, and/or Delivery Confirmation™)
- Label number
- Location the mail item was sent from (sender’s residence, other residence / business, Post Office™ ZIP Code™, Collection Box®, or unknown)
- Time and date the mail item was sent
- Contents of the mail item and value

Quite honestly, for one stinkin' pin all that effort is not even worth it to me and I am just dropping it. Someone other than I was delivered a nice Tink pin is my guess.

The arrival portion is when it was mailed (on the sender's end).
The delivery is when/where it was supposedly delivered.
In my recent case I think their "delivery" is when it was scanned by the postal carrier as he packs up his stuff in the morning.
Very few times has anyone seen their carrier actually scanning the DC as the package is being delivered. (Like UPS would.)
The delivery (from what I have read from other's experiences) is the package was scanned going into the final destination facility, or in my case when I believe my postal carrier was getting his load ready for the day. (I just have a guess of their schedule. My postal carrier does not deliver to our subdivision until mid to late afternoon. Yet it showed the packet being delivered early/mid morning.)

The way I am reading it, is the item was scanned at the post office of mailing on April 17, 2008, 7:56 am. (Guessing maybe it was dropped off during the night and this is when they actually scanned it upon receipt. :confused3 )
That was Thursday, yesterday, morning.
Then they show delivery today, the 18th, around noon. But again, that is just whenever they scanned it at the delivery facility. Hard to say if that is the postal carrier scanning at delivery, or when the package arrived at their facility.

Not sure what is going on with that.
My understanding is that it is the unit that it is aimed for and then it is up to your delivery person to get it.....maybe yours missed it??
I checked my Pooh exchange and DC said it arrived at unit yesterday morning about 7:00....and then it was delivered yesterday afternoon :confused:
I know I have talked to my mail person before and he said it should work well, but not everyone is consistent about the scanning....so then it doesn't work well.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I was out of the house all day doing college stuff, getting ready for fall/2008. I have 2 going away this fall to college.


My DS did receive his package yesterday, he says thanks. He received lots of goodies, reese cups, reese pieces, lemon heads, nerds, pez candies, lots of cookies, and more.

Inside was a big bag of plain M & M's (my favorite candy of all time).:rotfl:
A bunch of mini packages of cookies (Nutter Butter, Oreo's, Chips Ahoy).
Cheese crackers with peanut butter (these can go on the plane ride to Charlotte, NC in a few weeks)
Nutty Buddy bars (that's what we call them around here).
A bunch of fun size candy (butterfinger and kit kats).
Disney Princess Pez dispenser and Pez candy.
A big theater size box of skittles.
A package of red vines licorice.
Nature Valley granola bars
And a big bag of Mother's cookies called Cookie Parade (this is a variety pack of cookies).

Thank you so much for my package. I can't wait to get into some of the items.
