1) I was just wondering where the second pool is situated (can't seem to find it on any of the maps of the resort - I'm sure I read somewhere that there was a new one)

2) what should I consider if I want to put in a room request (room locations/building preferences, etc). We would definitely want a non-smoking room but I don't think we will go with concierge this visit.

Thanks, Lisa

The second pool is located between the main building and the wedding pavilion.

I like the Big Pine Key building. It is very close to the main building, and it is non-smoking. Garden View rooms offer a pool view, and lagoon view rooms have a lagoon view. ;)

Thanks for the prompt reply CaliforniaDreaming. That's where I thought the pool probably was...is it close to the Summerhouse or further down? I was also wondering if you can enter it from the beach area?

As for Big Pine Key...I thought that looked like a good location...close to both pools and, as you stated, close to the Main building.

Thanks again

It is actually where the beach area is. That's where they built the pool. Do you see that picture of the main building in my signature (bottom of the post)? The new pool is on that beach area (they still do have a large beach area, though).

Do people actually use the beach at the GF?

I found at the BC, we didn't see anyone on it. I know you can't swim in the water, but we were hoping to lay on the beach & then hop in the pool when we get hot (& maybe skip the Daytona Beach day we usually do). I find sitting on a beach without being able to get in the water now & then to cool off is no fun (we're going in July) and if you have to walk forever to get to a pool, it's not worth it.

But if we could lay on the beach & then just hop in the pool whenever...it might be OK. I thought I read that it has an entry from the beach...are we dreaming or is it actually something people do.

Thanks again.

Yes it is a zero entry pool with access right off of the beach! :) I have never seen the beach crowded, either. ;)

CaliforniaDreaming...just realized why your name looked so familiar when you replied to my questions, then I went back to the GF page to check a few things out and realized why...terrific info...great job...I've read it through from start to finish twice but didn't want to read it through a third time to see if these questions were answered there.

Thanks again for answering my questions. I guess now I should go ahead & book it...111 more days to go :) .
