Free dining was announced. well sometime before the promo ended in June, Disney contacted a good percentage of those and upgraded them to 1 and 2 bedroom suites at old key west, and saratoga springs. A lot of dis'ers going on a budget ended up staying SWEETLY and some reported refunds because of tax differences. (values resort tax is slightly higher because of zoning).

It was a fantastic deal, and I was wondering how many were going to book the values in hope of a repeat of the offer this year.

Disney's goal is to fill the resorts during slow season, (imagineer gave a lecture on it) - so they come up with pirate parties, halloween parties, free dining, magic upgrades.....

I doubt it will happen this year. The computer glitch that allowed certain value resorts to overbook I'm certain has been corrected. It happened one time and probably one time only. I've never heard of another time when large blocks of reservations got an upgrade except in one other rare instance where an unexpected renovation had to occur immediately and guests got an upgrade due to displacement. Last year's glitch wasn't due to construction or renovation- it was an overbooking error caused by the booking engines. That said, I could always be wrong, but I wouldn't count on a repeat performance of an upgrade.---Kathy

would this happen to me twice! we were one of the fortunate ones to get upgraded to a 1br villa @ ssr instead of pop. i had a dilema cause the inlaws were going w/us but they were like go ahead and stay @ ssr and we will just meet you everyday @ the parks. well, i wasn't going to pass up this dream, so i called the cm and asked if my inlaws could have a villa too and they said yes!!!!! so, we had the best time in the grandstand section, in our gorgeous 1 br villa and our free dining!! it was fabulous!!!!:)
it would be a miracle if it happened again but i will pray!
