With 4 kids, we need to stay in a suite hotel. I've been doing some searching and have come across a few different ones. Does anyone have any recommendations...for an inexpensive suite? How is Portofino Inn & Suites, Peacock Suites, Hawthorne Suites, etc.?
Anyone booked any of them on-line through a discount hotel service?

I have heard good things about Portofino, not so good things about Peacock, and nothing about Hawthorne. I know there is a Staybridge Suite, Residence Inn, and a Homewood Suites in the vicinity, all with shuttle service. Also, several hotels across the street from the main entrance (easy walking distance) have suites, including Best Western Park Place Inn, Desert Inn, Carousel Inn, Tropicana, Park Inn.

We have stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites many time and love it. The rooms are spacious and the convience of being right across the street from DL can't be beat. They have everything from a 1 room suite that sleeps 6 up to a 2 room suite with 4 beds and 2 baths.

Thank you for all of your information. Does anyone have any comments regarding the Staybridge, Hawthorne or other suites?
THANKS

We stayed at the Portofino last year and enjoyed it very much. Good value, nice rooms. They have a shuttle but you could also walk, I would estimate the walk at about 1/2 mile so you may not want to do it each time. If you have any specific questions feel free to let me know.

We stayed at Hawthorne Suites. Its okay, shuttle service take a long time, and only runs about once per hour, you can walk but its a good walk if you do. Room was fine, beds were to small though... I hate anything less than a Queen.

We stayed at Peacock Suites last week. It was a very nice hotel for the price ($89). There was enough room for 6 adults and one child in the queen suite. We would stay there again.

I've read a whole lot of reviews on the various "good neighbor" hotels at DisneyLand on the Mouseplanet site.....this is the link if you care to read what fellow travelers have to say about the hotels you are looking into!
