We are going on our first Disney cruise in April. Since we all fall asleep to the radio, I was wondering if they have a radio or stereo in the stateroom? We are in a category 6 if that makes a difference. Thanks.

We just returned. We were a CAT 9, so it may be different, but there was no radio. We had the TV which had a sleep timer on it - which we used to fall asleep to and used it as an alarm clock in the morning as a back up to the wake up Mickey calls. There are some channels that tell you the ships location, and where all the stores, restaurants are. They just have music on in the background while the facts/maps flash on the tv, so maybe you can put the tv on those channels and set the timer?

No stereo or music in the Category 6 cabins or even in the Category 4 cabins.

I liked the music that was on the tv channel with the bridge info, I think it was channel 52, and it does have a sleep timer on it. I don't know if it's possible to turn down the brightness of the screen so that it's black or not. I do remember using the 'setup' button on the remote because it was left with the menu words in the Spanish language and I couldn't understand it.

I cannot sleep w/o the t.v. on ever, so I sympathize. I've sailed the Magic twice and have simply turned to the bridge channel. However, I have also found that the ocean is VERY soothing and almost takes the place of a radio. I as close to the verandah as I can get (if you have a verandah room), open the door and listen to the ocean all night. AHHH. like being rocked to sleep. Wonderful.

I used to like to sleep with the tv on and I used to leave it on the channel that has 24 hour Disney cartoon movies. But hubby's snoring has gotten progressively worse, so now I just bring along a white noise machine. Although it has a timer, I leave it on all night so I have half a chance of getting some shut-eye! I also like being aft as you get a little bit of engine noise back there, which I find to be very soothing...puts me right to sleep.
