From the deckplans, this stateroom seems to be right at an elevator. Will it be loud at night (only plan on being in room to sleep and shower!).

When I finally get around to posting a FAQ at my web site, I will be addressing this very question. This is a very popular question on this board. Many folks on this board have booked these rooms and have almost unanimously said that they never heard a thing... or they were never annoyed by it. Don't worry about your location near the elevator. You'll be fine.

6558 was our room on the Magic last year. It was great being so close to the stairs and elevators. No noise at all. Other than late one night we told some kids to go up and outside to talk, they kind of like hanging out in the stairwells. But all in all, it was a great location. You will love the verandah. Enjoy

IMHO this is the BEST place to be. Midship. The most stable and we never NEVER heard a thing. We've sailed in these rooms twice on the Magic. I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else. Hakuna Matata.

Thanks for the good words about this room. Half of our group was not happy about the closeness to the elevators, but personally, I have a terrible sense of direction and I always worry about getting lost.

Here is tip to not getting lost. There are anchors in the rugs going up and down the halls. Half of the anchor is red and the other half is blue. The red side of the achor is pointing toward the rear of the ship, red/rear. The blue side of the anchor is pointing toward the front of the ship. Looking at that on the rugs in the hallways makes it easier. The Adult pool is in the front of the ship and the mickey pool is in the back of the ship and, of course, goofy pool is midship. Remember that on the outside decks and you will be fine. Good Luck.

The secret porthole rooms are right near the forward elevators, and we never hear any excessive noise when we stay in them. We've seen the teens hanging around on the stairwells, but I've never seen them being loud or causing a disturbance on any of our cruises. The elevator rooms seem to be no noiser than any other rooms (unless, of course, you end up with noisy neighbors--we had the "kick boxers" next door once!).
