We are staying at the Radisson near the port the night before our cruise. Any good places to eat nearby? Seafood preferred but a nice steak will do.

Can't help you.....unfortunately I was also in mood for a good steak, but the kids only wanted Pizza Hut. It was three against one!!!!

As you are sailiong away from the port you can see restaurants. I have heard that they offer pretty good seafood, but we have never been able to go. I am not sure just where they a located maybe Dave can help.
We will be driving this year and also staying at the Radisson. I sure would like to hear about them if anyone has gone to any. Also how to get to them.

Someone on an earlier post mentioned "Rusty's" and "The Grille."

Haven't experienced any of them but here is a link (from Dave - a DIS pro) that lists some places on a map.

They have links with addresses, too.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across from the Durango Steak House and, although we didn't eat there, it looked nice. That's the best I can do!

We ate at Kelsey's Pizza. I thought it was good. They have more than pizza (I got a pasta dish), but I'm not sure if they have steak.

My brother's family ate at the restaurant in the Radisson. They said it was excellent - veal, steak, seafood, etc. Good food and a real restaurant, not fast food.
We got carry out pizza at Kelsey's next door and it seemed like a nice, if somewhat noisy and crowded, Italian restaurant.

We have eaten twice at Crab Heaven in Port Canaveral for the best seafood. We are booked for November, 2002 and all the kids can talk about is dinner at Crab Heaven. They have a full menu and then nightly all you can eat specials. Last time for about $25.00 we had Alaskan Crab Legs and they were delicious. My BIL added large shrip and fried catfish and the shrimop were huge. We also ate at Durango Steakhouse and that was good. Crab Heaven is a small almost road side stand about 2 miles from the Publix and Marriott Courtyar. You caqn eat inside or out, and they keep the food coming.

Hello Lou - Only if you have a car will you be able to venture very far from the Radisson - Rusty's and Grille's is very nice and not too far from the Radisson - then for awesome seafood there is Florida Seafood located about 2.5 miles from the hotel on Hwy 520 - best you call for reservations - for steaks there is Durango's Steak House which is about 2 miles from the hotel - you have the Cocoa Beach Pier (right behind Durango's) which offers both seafood and steak - you sit right over the ocean - awesome view - each place is just casual dressing - I myself have been to each of these places and can not say anything bad about them - I feel each are very reasonable - further down - there is a seafood buffett at the Hilton - now that is something else - yummy - they offer all but steak but they do have prime rib/roast beef - everything is included except drinks - I hope this has helped some and whatever place you choose, that it will bring you great pleasure. If you run into any questions, just give me a call at the shop - 800-950-4559.
Always,
Shirley

I would go for Rusty's or Grills (mentioned above), or the Sunset Cafe (next door to Florida's Seafood, also mentioned above). All three of these restaurants have seafood and awesome water views. For the location see the map at my web site (also mentioned above):

We ate at Florida Seafood when we were there for the 3/2 cruise. It was excellent. That is where we are planning on eating again before the 9/14 cruise. You have to try the broiled Rock Shrimp, it was AWESOME
