sounds like just what was ordered for your family!!
Ditto!
Good morning! I hope you all are having a nice weekend! :wave2:
Thanks again for all the good wishes for Alyssa's birthday and the Fancy Nancy party. We definitely had fun! Here's a little preview of pictures...practicing posture. :rotfl:

Only one more party to go! The last three cakes are frosted. I just need to cut up some fruit, make a quick batch of cole slaw, and wrap a couple presents. I'm glad this is a luncheon...I plan on crashing later this afternoon!
Talk to you all soon!
Amy :)
I love it!! Alyssa looks so fancy! Matty, however, does not look thrilled at all to have a banana atop his head! And you look fabulous!
I sure hope you get some down time this afternoon, you certainly deserve it.

We pay the $9.95 per day fee for the days that we use it. Chuck can hook his blackberry up to his laptop and get internet access if we needed.

Sounds like you are all having a good time!
Greetings from the Holiday Inn Express in Manchester, NH.
Today was a busy day. The kids bowled at 11:15, 12:30 and 4 PM. They bowl again tomorrow at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM. Colby had some exceptional games today and Nick and Hunter bowled ok. They were pretty tired by the time they were done. After bowling Chris and DB took the kids to Chuck E Cheese and us girls went to the mall. I only bought a couple of pairs of underarmour shorts for Nick and a few kitchen items at the Disney store for me:rolleyes1 They were on clearance and another 25% off. Chris took the boys swimming when they got back. I had brought back sundaes so we had dessert and now most everyone is sleeping. Hunter is still watching tv though. Overall a good day.

I really wish they would cancel Emma's soccer game at 12:30pm. It has been raining here since last night and is to continue into the afternoon. I am sure the fields are a muddy pit and I certainly am not looking forward to sitting in the rain.
My mom is coming over to stay with Molly and Lucy so we don't have to drag them out in this mess.

Thanks! My sister was so excited that my mom listed her as a host, and she had a ball planning, decorating, etc :)
I have used Picasa in the past, and hated it. But that was when it first came out and was mostly a software for your desktop. It still offers that (and I still don't like it all that well!), but I'm hoping the newer "web albums" are something I like. I'll just ignore the software part, because I at least enjoy looking at other peoples albums on the Picasa site! :thumbsup2

:wizard: that it all works out. You have a very generous heart.
Thanks!:cloud9: :lovestruc
I blame it on my parents and my science teacher.
Amy- The Fancy Nancy party looked like fun. Alyssa and Matt are getting so big.
Jennifer- Great pictures. I understand the inability to find a photo website to like. I have used Picasa, Dotphoto, Kodak, Photobucket, just to name a few. There is always something that doesn't totally thrill me about each one. Every time I see a picture of your Mom, I am reminded of one of my volunteers, they look very similar.
Speaking of volunteers, another volunteer and her family is going to be on Oprah's Big Give tonight. Both Mom and Dad Machinski have had cancer. Mike has been battling since 2004. Becky runs a bead shop called Hope Creations (http://www.hopecreationsjewelry.com/) and has been in remission for a few years. They have three girls and Becky is leader to two Girl Scout troops.
There are now Disney Bikenstocks (http://www.footshopping.com/main.cfm?wgID=21&MI=23&MID=20189)

My kids are cleaning their room. They have found their furby's and tomagotchi's. Becky has put batteries in the furby. I forgot all about those things. Katrina's had the batteries corrode in hers so I'm not sure if we'll get that one working. I'll have to have Chuck check it out when he gets done working on the camper.
I was looking to see how much the furby's go for and it was funny because I found two for sale together that are exactly the same ones (http://cgi.ebay.com/2-VINTAGE-FURBIES-ADULT-AND-BABY_W0QQitemZ150233784266QQihZ005QQcategoryZ44010 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) that my girls have.

Sounds like a good, relaxing weekend so far, Deb. Just what the doctor ordered!
How close do you all live to Manchester? That is not so far away from where we will be this summer!
We are about 1 1/2 hours from Manchester and 3 hours from Boston.
We had a nice weekend and the boys bowled really well. I'm not sure that they bowled well enough for trophies, but we are very proud of them.
When we got home we realized that we had a problem. It seems that Chris had put Hunter's DS game case in Nick's bowling bag and at some point while we were at the bowling alley, Colby took the case out and set it somewhere. I called the bowling alley and they did find it so now we need to pick it up or have someone pick it up for us. I also bought a pair of Columbia shorts for myself (which I did not try on) and they are HUGE. They would fall right off if I tried to walk in them. So either I need to head back to Manchester myself or I need to find someone going soon. I know some kids bowl there next weekend so maybe I can get the case picked up and I have 90 days to return the shorts:confused3
For you DVC members, have you received your 2008 planner yet? I haven't so I'm calling to request one.

Not too much to report, really. Mom started taking her Arimidex on Thursday and so far she hasn't has any side effects. She did seem tired on Friday. She said she ddin't want to go to dinner, but she finally agreed to come along. She had to wait for my sister to finish at a debate competition that night so she could pick her up, so it was midnight before anybody got to bed. Then we were all up at 5:30 AM so she could go back for another competition. Of course my mom has to haul her back and forth, and they got a variance so she attends a school farther away because it is "better". She (my sister) still acts like everything is entirely about HER, which infuriates me. But I didn't have time to talk to her AT ALL.
Yesterday Mom took us around town - she drove by the house where she grew up, the house where we lived when I was a baby, we went to the cemetary where my grandparents are buried. We had a key made so I have my own key to her apartment.
She has 4 years of tax returns to file, and now she will have to file all of the claims for her cancer insurance. So far I don't think she has any bills that can be claimed, but I imagine those will stack up by the time I go back. I think I can do the medical claims but she has to do her own taxes.
Mom is supposed to call the hospital social worker tomorrow. She has her CT and bone scan Tuesday, then she sees the onoclogist again in 5 weeks.
My aunt drove us back to Kansas City last night and we went to see "Nim's Island". She was telling me we should all be really positive and make sure my mom doesn't feel depressed. Well, I don't want to pretend that she has nothing to worry about. I can handle "cautiously optimistic", but if the cancer shows up other places OR if she has positive lymph nodes then her treatment is not going to be a walk in the park!
DS has a nervous habit of licking his top lip and now it is completely raw. He licked it all weekend. :sad2: If the scheduling wasn't so difficult I would leave him home next time.

Elizabeth - your mom should be proud of you for the 'take charge' attitude that you have. I know you will see to it that she is well taken care of and that everything is in order.
Alyssa licks her lips like that too, except hers are both upper and lower. If we don't keep applying chapstick she looks like a clown, with big red lips!

I think she feels like I railroad her. But if she is left to her own devices she just ignores everything.
I kept chasing after DS with the lip balm all weekend. We just get it healed and then it seems like it gets bad again.

It is actually unfair, allowing it at one end of the spectrum and not the other. You may not know about being excluded on something because your kind are handed everything by the government so there won't be an uproar.

Chris and I painted Nick's room. It took a whole gallon  and that was over a tinted primer. The Ralph Lauren paint was very thick. I'm confident that one more coat tomorrow will finish the walls. I will still need to paint his window trim and the closet doors though. I need to pick up another gallon of paint so I will do that after the awards assembly in the morning and get to painting as early as possible. I'd like to be laying the flooring when Chris gets home. Yikes! :scared1: But the person who posted it is a troll. Fussing about not being allowed to have free dining for every night if you arrive before the promo starts is beyond stupid. And I firmly believe that they will NOT allow people to arrive on the last day of the promo and extend free dining all the way through the end of their stay. I think those days are over - the dates of the promo are the dates of the promo, the end.

Well, I haven't seen a single rumor that free dining will start 8/10, so I think I can relax and not worry about it! :rotfl2: Besides, I still haven't had a chance to sort out the travel insurance options so it is probably better if we don't have a package. Room only will be far easier to deal with if we have any sort of emergency.
DH's airfare is now down to $188 from $238 for the leg back from MCO. It started out at $178 when I first began tracking it. I almost think I should just book the darn flight and be done with it. The peace of mind of having him on the same flight in case he and DS have to fly without me might be worth it.

Well we were not spared the baseball game! Its was a freezing 39 degrees & the wind was whipping around so hard it hurt our faces. I had blankets around the girls & we all had on coats, scarves & hats but we were all still cold.
They went into extra innings...Daniel drove home the winning run. :thumbsup2 I was happy that they won but even happier to go home.
How thrilling for Daniel, and for you! WTG, slugger! http://bestsmileys.com/sports3/2.gif

Kristine - I am doing a fine job of pretending I am DH as I set up the Coral Reef stuff with AKL IPO. :rolleyes1
How did you contact Chef Kelley at BW bakery? I think I might get the cake for Flying Fish the night before my birthday. Or maybe I should e-mail the very helpful IPO staff again and ask them to do it! We are chacking out of Club Level the morning of the 4th, but the cake would be for the evening of the 4th so they might handle it for me (aka DH). :rotfl2:

The more I think about it, the more I do think I will ask IPO to handle it. I want to see how well they handle the special requests, just because I am curious. Then when people ask "Is it worth it?" I will have something valid to contribute to the discussion.

We'll have almost 2 weeks to finish it, but it will be stale before then! :rotfl2: I just get so confused reading that cake thread. There is no rhyme or reason to what you can and can not order - what they do for one person they won't do for the next one. Somebody said they were told the only way to choose your cake, filling and frosting was to order at least a 10" cake. But you got the EXACT cake that I want in a 6" version. :confused3 I don't even want a character pic on it - just fresh fruit or flowers or whatever. I'll e-mail and ask IPO to order the cake, and if they say they can't do it I will handle it myself.

Yesterday I washed all my fabric and ironed the 2 fabrics for Emma's new shirt, the 2 non Disney fabrics for Lizzy's shirt and the 3 fabrics for the sleep pants for the kids. I bought 2 patterns online from www.youcanmakethis.com Tom has used them. They are really cool! So today I made all the patterns for the 2 shirts and 3 pants and cut them all out. Only problem was I forgot to add the extra to the pants for the elastic casing and hem so now I'll have to add cuffs to the pants. I'm hoping I can find some nice fabrics to go with the pants so it will look nice and not just have to use the same fabric and have it look like a mistake. The patterns I bought have patterns for American Girl Dolls too but I haven't cut anything out for Molly yet. I hope I get my sewing machine back this week.

It didn't have a sturdy back, the photo quality was lousy, and the text wasn't centered correctly on the page. I'm hoping they will take it back because it wasn't worth $9.00. Hi all! I'm sorry I have been terrible about keeping up. I have been reading many days, but run out of steam (physically and emotionally) before I can properly respond. Things are progressing well, work is busy as usual... I feel like a broken record ;) As my doctor put it, all the problems with this pregnancy are with mom -- the girls are both doing just fine. I suppose I can handle that :goodvibes
I'm sorry to just skim over most things, but I have been thinking of you all! Elizabeth, please know that you and your family continue to be in my prayers!
Please take care of yourselves, and PM me if you need anything before I can be around more! I will eventually get back with you, even if it takes a while (Amy :rolleyes1 )
Goodnight ladies! So glad to hear the babies are doing great!
Tonight I look like someone punched me in the eye. I've had these raised bumps on my face that I guess are called millium. I've had them for several years. My mom has been after me to hae a dermatologist look at them so I had them removed today. It sounds gross but the poke a needle in the middle of them and pop them like a blackhead! I had at least 20 of them with some very small ones forming. She told me I would look bruised for a few days.Oh, I hope you feel better!
i went to pets mart today to get another beta. mine died last week. well i came out with a 1 gallon tank set, 2 mollys, a snail, and a plant for the tank. I have it set up on my desk and my mom hasn't even noticed it:rotfl: . i am waiting to see how long it takes her. my desk is in the same room she sews in and she is sewing a quilt right nowDid she ever notice the new fish and tank?
You mean there's more?!? Like possibly a Goofy Gnome?? (Hey Janet, are you going during the Flower Fesival? :rolleyes1 )I am, Channing. If you need something I'd be glad to pick it up.
I just received an email from AR (my favorite CM)
She wrote in part
I want to thank you for that great letter you wrote to WDW on my behalf. Believe it or not, it took until late January before it finally reached me. The good part was it was sent all the way up to the desk of Erin Wallace, WDW Senior Vice President of Operations and I was presented with a Disney "Star" Pin (really neat pin) and a special Cast Member Recognition and copy of the letter signed off by Erin "Arlene, thank you for making magical memories for our guests". It was read at one of our team meetings and I was presented the pin. It was really neat!! Thanks for making a magical moment for me.
I was surprised at the lengths that Disney went with this. I'm very impressed. What a lovely gesture, Deb! WTG!
Don't know anything more about it, but I saw this mentioned on the Dec'08 code thread. Lyndsey - Don't know if you could take advantage of it. Bernadette, want to add a Dec trip, say the 5-15, and tag me on as a 2nd room? ;) :rotfl:

I'm sorry that I've been MIA the last few days. This week has been H E L L
Tuesday was the bus incident. It appears that 2 kids have been suspended as a result. Today I brought a box of chocolates out to the bus driver to Thank him for looking out for my kids. He was shocked, but I wanted him to know that we were thankful that he dealt appropriately with the situation. I also hope that it keeps him motivated to continue to do so.
Yesterday I stopped by Best Buy to check on the status of a TV that I had brought in for potential repair. I paid $35 to have them ship it to a repair center to be diagnoses. They were to call to let me know what was wrong and to give the a repair cost. The initial paperwork gave an estimate of $64 I hadn't heard anything so I stopped in last week and they were going to look into it and contact me, but still nothing. Yesterday they pull it up and tell me that it has been fixed and that I owe an additional $140 :scared1: I did not authorize the repair and certainly would not have. It is a 3 year old TV and I'd rather put that $140 into buying a new one with a warranty. I still have no idea what they plan to do about it as the tv did work (though poorly) before I dropped it off.
This morning I got up with high expectation of getting a lot done on Nick's room. I started by heading into Hunter's room to hang the closet doors. I inadvertedly put my hand on his desk only to leave a huge void. His entire room was covered in a white dust. I thought that my mother must have sanded while I was at work (which I had told her NOT to do). I started cleaning his room (which was completely brand spanken new on Monday. Then I noticed the dust on all of our electronics in the living room. After 4 hours of cleaning I was in tears as I felt like I had been set back by DAYS not just hours. I called my mother (crying no less) and she swore that she hadn't sanded, but she would come down to help me clean. As I went back into Nick's room I picked up a hammer that was speckled with white paint and the dust. Well I had used the hammer before work yesterday which meant the dust occurred last night. It turns out that Chris had used our new paint sprayer to pain the doors and it had created a white vapor that travelled throughout the house leaving a white dust. Thankfully it comes off by dusting, but what a mess. And to make matters worse the paint gun had left the door all blotchy so I had to hand paint them anyway. So now I am way behind schedule and totally stressed out. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.Wow, you have had a rough week. I'm hoping it is better now and you've had a good weekend!

2 weeks from today we will be heading to the airport & hopefully to wonderful sunny skies!http://bestsmileys.com/sun/4.gif
Today my plan is to get all the kids clothes packed in their ziplocs & in the suitcase. They still have no idea!!! http://bestsmileys.com/clapping/2.gifThat is so exciting! I can't wait to hear all about it.
Good morning, it's cold and dreary outside. It is suppose to rain most of today and tomorrow so I am sure that Mo's soccer will be canceled.
Call me crazy but I am so excited today! The New Kids on the Block are going to be on the Today show this morning. :rotfl: My girlfriends and I were totally into them back when they were big. It's like going back in time, except they are all pushing 40, I think they need a name change!
Emma has early dismissal today. Of course, it's during nap time:headache: Tonight we are supposed to go out for my cousin's 21st birthday. I am not at all into the whole bar scene so it will be a long night.Wow, talk about a blast from the past. Makes me feel so old!
THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for all of Alyssa's birthday wishes. She really got a kick out of seeing her name and all the clip art, especially the Fancy Nancy pictures. :goodvibes
Thanks Robyn, Mo, Emma, and Lucy for the cute Fancy Nancy ecard too!Hope the party was fun!!!
I'm going to make cupcakes tonight for my brother's 40th birthday on Sunday. We have a baseball tournament this weekend for the select team that Andrew and my nephew are on, and Tres is one of the coaches, so we'll celebrate with the team. I also need to make peanut butter balls tonight to take for the tournament tomorrow. A good source of protein between games and the team loved them when I made them last weekend.
We've had thunderstorms and rain overnight (and it's still sprinkling) so the baseball game Jake has tonight may be rained out. Both boys have soccer games tomorrow, Andrew has that tournament 1 1/4 hours away, and Jake has a birthday party to attend.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)
Are you trying to rival Amy in her baking?? ;) Hope the games were a success!
Good morning, DDA. So far it's a dreary morning here today, but we're supposed to get some sun later, if not warmth.
I think I might be losing it today - first I heard talking in the car, though the radio wasn't on; then I was in the bathroom and kept hearing something like a small child calling out for someone, but Terra's still asleep; now I'm hearing loud bird sounds like they are in the house, but can't figure out where they're coming from. Maybe I need to go back to bed! :rolleyes:Did you ever figure out what the noises were?
Our mortgage officer just called me to let me know that our loan processor was killed in a car accident this morning. She was 27 years old. Our mortgage officer is having a very tough time dealing with it. What a tragic loss. She wanted us to know that our loan could be slowed by this. That is so unimportant in the whole spectum at this point :sad1:That is so sad.
Whoo Hoo! I'm a guru! :teeth: And why does everyone think they are bothering me WHEN I'M AT WORK and DOING MY JOB?! :rotfl:
eta: but i'll still be up early calling!I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as I'm sure you're going to be VERY busy!
Happy Friday, DDA!
Sorry I've been MIA again - this has just been one of THOSE weeks. I can't even really put my finger on what has me in a funk, but according to Jonathan I need to snap out of it! I'm hoping the weekend will help (although that does include doing taxes, cleaning, going to an art show and movie - neither of which I'm intersted in, etc., so who knows! ;) )
I've been reading along, but things are kind of a blur! Lots of :wizard:  :grouphug: :cheer2: for anyone I inadvertently miss!
And with that, I need to get back off of here. Have great afternoons!
I hope you've had a good weekend and are feeling more peppy! When are you going in December? We're looking at Dec 9-14.
I went to a different JoAnn's (farther from my office & home) last night as a coworker said she thought they had a better selection. I didn't think the selection was much better. I did buy more Cars fabric and she offered me what was left on the bolt at 75% off. I was hoping to find some racing checks for the lining on Emma's new shirt but the fabric they had was a poly blend and I like 100% cotton better. I bought some non Disney fabric to make Lizzy a shirt because they didn't have the Pooh fabric I was looking for. I was going to buy a few Butterick patterns at 2/$3 (instead of $5.99 each) but that 3 day only sale (Thu/Fri/Sat) isn't until next week.:headache: I stopped at the store closer to my house on the way home and they had the Pooh fabric so I got that and a plain white fabric to use as the lining. The clerk at this store offered me the remnant on the bolt at 50% off. It was only $1.99/yd so I didn't even ask why not 75%.:confused3 Then I went across the street to the only Walmart around here that still has fabric and found the checkered fabric in 100% cotton.
Lizzy LOVES the fabric! She wants a dress but I told her to let me make the shirt first.
Hopefully I'll get my machine back from the cleaning before next weekend and I can go back to JoAnn's for the Butterick patterns.
The kids are supposed to start soccer tomorrow but its pouring here today so I'm thinking it might get canceled. Lizzy goes 8:30 to 10:00, Joe goes 10:45 to 12:15 and Emma is 1:15 to 2:30.You are really doing great with your sewing. I wish I knew how!
You asked for em!

Hello all. :wave2:
Just a quick check in.
Mom had complete knee replacement on March 27th, so there were more doctor visits before then.
3 days in the surgery center, and now I run back and forth during the day to take care of her, as Dawn works nights and is sleeping during the day.
Hope all is well with everyone. pixiedust: :grouphug: pixiedust: and :grouphug: all around.

Did you guys that rent strollers see that the prices are going up? There seems to be a lot of upset people. The double strollers are doubling in cost it looks like. That is just unbelievable. Now, I'm in a quandry for Rees as his wheelchair won't be in before we leave. I had planned on renting one there for him, but now I'll have to look elsewhere.
We got Alvin and the Chipmunks and are having movie night. I hope it rains hard enough for our 8AM soccer game to be canceled.
I hope everyone is having a nice evening. My kids loved this movie and want me to buy the DVD now.
Mr. Magorium was okay...a little dark. Abi wouldn't watch it...not sure whyWe didn't enjoy it at all.
It starts next Friday night for 4 weeks in a row. The one I am watching now is not new, but still a good way to get the WDW fix!Oooh! Thanks, Elin! Rees wants to marry Samantha Brown. The entire reason we're staying at the BC is because of her episode there showing hte slide and Kitchen Sink.
I just check the travel channel and found this for 4-11, 9 pm EST.
She's been to the Disney theme parks, hotels and restaurants many times, but what are Samantha Brown's favorite picks when visiting the Mouse? Join Samantha as she travels to Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim, Calif., and Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla. Read on to discover what Sam likes about Disney and why she likes it.
Favorite No. 1 - Tower of Terror
Where: Disney's Hollywood Studios
This attraction equals five minutes of scream therapy! It's a case of love-hate for Samantha, because she loves the sheer imagination put into this attraction but hates the thought of dropping 13 floors in an elevator shaft. This exhilarating ride lives up to its name, as well as its new slogan: Fear every drop!
Favorite No. 2 - Turtle Talk With Crush
Where: Innoventions at Epcot
This is truly one of Sam's favorite experiences. It's an animated show featuring the surfer-dude sea turtle from 'Finding Nemo.' But that's not the amazing part. Crush actually talks to Sam in an unscripted, spontaneous conversation. If you had the chance to talk to a turtle, what would you ask him? It's totally awesome, dude!
Favorite No. 3 - The Wanyama Safari
Where: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
For a unique adventure, Samantha chose Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge as her favorite place to stay at Walt Disney World. Her favorite thing to do at the lodge is go on the Wanyama Safari, which is open only to guests of the resort. Some travelers will spend just one night at Animal Kingdom Lodge to experience this two-hour adventure.
Favorite No. 4 - Soarin' Over California
Where: Disney's California Adventure at Disneyland
This captivating ride incorporates IMAX technology, motion simulators, and synchronized wind and scent machines. The virtual hand-gliding adventure begins with a swoop through the clouds above San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, then a float over a river alongside some majestic California redwoods. Other flyovers include a Sierras' ski resort, Yosemite Falls, the Anzo-Borrega Desert and the California coast - where it feels like Sam's feet can almost touch the waves.
Favorite No. 5 - Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
Where: Tomorrowland at Disneyland
This new attraction submerges Sam into the sparkling waters of the Tomorrowland Lagoon. It's packed with colorful reefs, ancient ruins, exotic fish, massive whales and an erupting underwater volcano.
Favorite No. 6 - Chef's Table Experience
Where: Napa Rose Restaurant at Disney Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland
Sam likes to share a table with other friends for a one-of-a-kind "Chef's Table" dinner. This restaurant boasts an impressive collection of award-winning California vintages, showcased in its exhibition wine cellar.
Favorite No. 7 - World Showcase
Where: EPCOT
Samantha has been to EPCOT nearly every time of year, but her favorite is winter when the World Showcase is dressed up in all its holiday finery and each country sets out to share its holiday or New Year traditions. Sam's favorite spot to stop for a quick refreshment is a little kiosk in front of the France pavilion. Her favorite drink is the Grand Marnier slush.
Favorite No. 8 - Single Passenger Line
Where: Test Track at EPCOT and other rides at all Disney parks
Sam's favorite secret for not spending valuable "ride time" standing in long lines - head for the "Single Passenger Line." Now, this line only works if you are single - or if your group agrees to be split up - because you will be! But it can cut the wait in line by more than half in some cases.
Favorite No. 9 - Roller Coasters
Where: Each park has them!
Samantha loves roller coasters. Her favorites include California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure, Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland and Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Favorite No. 10 - Tropical Imports
Where: Adventureland at Disneyland
Sam's always hungry, so for a quick diversion she goes to one of her favorite snack places in Disneyland - Tropical Imports, a fresh fruit and juice stand in Adventureland.
Favorite No. 11 - Disneyland's Dream Suite
Where: New Orleans Square at Disneyland's Dream Suite
Sam used her "connections" to sneak a quick peek inside Disneyland's Dream Suite, which overlooks New Orleans Square Park. The suite was originally conceived by Walt Disney himself as a private apartment for his family and closest friends. Disney Imagineers uncovered his plans and used them as the inspiration for its design.
Favorite No. 12 - Parade of Dreams
Where: Disneyland
This parade features more than 100 performers, 20-foot-tall floats, confetti blasts, oversized puppets and the cast of characters everyone's grown to love.
Favorite No. 13 - Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba
Where: Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World
Cirque du Soleil's 'La Nouba' is one of the most extraordinary entertainment experiences Sam has ever seen. Roughly translated, La Nouba in French means to "party down" - and the 70 international performers do just that through a high-energy mix of mind-blowing breathtaking acrobatics and modern dance.
Favorite No. 14 - The California Grill
Where: Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World
Perched atop Walt Disney World's earliest resort destination, the Contemporary Resort, this modern dining room offers what Sam feels is the best food at Disney. But this is also Sam's secret spot to watch the fireworks above Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. They have their own observation point, so whether you're sitting down to a gourmet meal or just catching a drink at the stylish bar, it's the perfect spot to watch Disney's Wishes fireworks.
Favorite No. 15 - Spectro Magic Parade
Where: Walt Disney World
Designed as a moving gallery for audiences along a darkened parade route, this show uses a techno-workshop full of lighting effects to re-create pixies and peacocks, sea horses and flying horses, flower gardens and fountains, and other whimsical creatures found at the Disney properties.
I managed to get our stuff packed for the weekend, some laundry done and I made roast beef, mashed potato, carrots and homemade gravy for dinner. We had Mom over for her birthday dinner. Dad was working so I sent a plate home for him. Nick baked her a strawberry cake and he frosted and decorated it himself. It really came out beautifully. She seemed happy. After dinner we put a coat of primer on Nick's walls. The primer is so dark that the room looks black. Hopefully the paint will brighten the walls up. The paint is a blueish gray color. We won't get to that until Sunday.
Actually, this has to do with a late life crisis. I do NOT want to end up like my mother. She is way too heavy and unhappy with herself. We are worried about whether she will be able to walk around Disney with us. I know that if I let it creep on, then I will end up the same as her.
I'm trying to follow in my dad's footsteps. In his 40's, he started running and got in shape. In his 50's and being a non-swimmer, he started scuba diving lessons and took his test to become certified when he went to visit my brother in Japan. Mom did this with him as well. I want to continue in his steps. I got my lifeguarding and high ropes instructor at 40. I need to start running and get in shape for whatever comes next.
sO I guess we're having a sleepover tonight. Kristi called because Chris brought a little convertible sports car home from work tonight and they wanted to see if someone would come over long enough for them to take a drive. She told Mom, "If you need something from Target or something we'll go to the one in the Valley and get it." (The Valley is about 12 miles away and there is a Target a quarter mile from Kristi's house. ) I told Mom to call back and tell her that I was needing some Ted Drewes. ;) So, Terra and I went over to play while they made an ice cream run. They hadn't even left yet when the lights went out (with the girls in the now-pitch-black basement, no less). I guess a car hit a light pole on the main street and knocked out the neighborhood. So, now the older kids will sleep here and they'll take Chase home when they come back with my frozen custard. :thumbsup2 I'd have offered to keep Chase overnight too, but she's been up crying at 2:30am twice this week. ;)THANKS SO MUCH!!!
Pixie dust to all in need.:wizard: :wizard:
I have had the most amazing week not spent at Disney.:cloud9: Dinner for 8 turned into dinner for a dozen, but what a wonderful day this has been.
Just what the doctor ordered for me. My friends (that I went to Disney with in December) came here for spring break. Thier son and my grandson are bestest buds. :goodvibes With two trips to Chuck E Cheese, one trip to Hands On House, a stop at Choo Choo barn and a few shared meals. What a week.!:dance3: :dance3:
Then we just relaxed at my home. I hate leftovers. Well, I don't have to worry about that. There is not a drop of leftovers. I'm sipping the last of the cabernet sauvignon ( a wonderful John Shaw 2001) out of a Go Diego Go Dixie cup. Every glass is in the dishwasher...:woohoo: :woohoo: What a wonderful evening.
I think the boys are going to sleep until noon. My DGS did not have a nap. He was falling asleep standing up. Their DS was so tired, he had to be carried to the car.:goodvibes :goodvibes
I finally washed all the dishes and just turned on the dishwasher. I'm off to bed.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:Steffy, I'm so glad you're having a wonderful time! We spent the weekend with John's family and the kids LOVED it. This week is their Spring Break.

Well, no rain. I wish I could have a job where I was wrong 90% of the time and still get paid. We were supposed to have rain all afternoon and evening yesterday, into today, which we didn't. So that means we DO have our 8AM soccer game. Or they will cancel it at the last minute. Guess I better start getting ready. TTFN.
Good morning, Elin, and to the rest of you eventually. That would be good odds, wouldn't it? I hope he won the game!
Good Morning DDA,
It has been another hectic week around here, but I was able to finally get things caught up from my week off at work. I don't have anyone to fill in, they just stack my paperwork up for me to handle when I get back.
Denise - be careful in your travels this weekend, you've got some bad weather headed in that direction. Hope your anniversary was wonderful..
Well it's been slow going but I have reached another mini goal, this one has extra meaning as I'm now at the weight I was in 1992, so I've taken off 16 years of weight gain. I had to go shopping for new under garments, I had a serious case of droopy drawers, . DH wants to know why when women lose weight they lose their breasts too, sorry. I also bought some jeans that fit as all my others were falling down, and I had to have something for work. I still didn't buy too many things as I've still got a long way to go. DH said I need to get rid of the bigger clothes, I use two closets so I think I will seperate them into one closet, getting rid of some but keeping some too. I've been down this road before and unfortunately I know how hard it is to maintain.
We're headed over to Mobile this afternoon to spend the evening and then attend a Banquet tomorrow, DD is being entered in the National Honor Society and they are having a Banquet in their honor.
I realized this week that one of my life goals will be met next month when DD receives her degreee, I've preached to my girls since they wre little that they would have a college education. I've always told them that if they were to get married and decide to be a stay at home Mom that that would be great, but they needed something to fall back on if they ever needed it. I'm very proud to say that they listened,.
Have a Great weekend friends! We drove right through all the tornado warnings and missed them all! :wizard: WTG on your weight loss. You are AMAZING!!! Congrats! Droopy drawers is a good thing.
Hi and Bye! I gotta finish an assignment by noon and frankly I do not care anymore. Is this semester over already?? I have two assignments due Tuesday as well.
Talk to you all later. Sorry to be so negative, again.Hang in there. You'll be done before you know it!
I hope that I am as successful as the two of you with my girls. It isn't looking good with Katrina. I'm hoping the counseling that she starts in a couple of weeks help her choose a career path. She is so much like me - I quit school for a few years until I could decide what I wanted to be. I met my goal and graduated by the time I was 30.I think that's a great idea if you're unsure. I probably should have done the same. Instead, I graduated and then went back for a 2nd bachelors.
What a busy day we've had. Nicholas' team tied, 0-0. They all played really well, and he had a good time. From there we came home, Bob stayed with the kids and I went to the grocery store. Nicholas was to be at a friend's house at 11, then the rest of us went to a craft fair. I don't know why I get sucked into those. They never have anything that knocks my socks off. Alyssa had a bday party at Chuck E. Cheese at 2, and now we are home. Bob is mowing my grass and I'm doing laundry and DISing. Sshhhhh....don't tell him.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!Sounds like a fun day! What a good man you have.
just had to type and say that i am finally on my new computer Yea for the new HP!

Thanks, Janet!!!
I had this huge multi quote going and the computer decided to crash and I lost it all! For lack of time, a big dose of and 's all around.
Molly had a soccer game today and she played hard. She landed face down in the dirt not once or twice but three times. The last time was by far the worse. She has a nasty bump on her forehead and bruises on both knees. One of the little girls on her team sort of pushed her down and then trampled on top of her. It wasn't on purpose, just little feet and bodies going much faster than they normally do. That girl was crying just as hard as Mo, she really thought she hurt her and felt so bad. Thankfully after a short clean up, dirt was up her nose, in her mouth and a thousand other places, Mo headed back out there and finished the game!
Emma is at my parent's for the night. Eric, Mo, Lucy and I went out for dinner, Cheeseburger in Paradise, then ran some errands.
I hope to be back after I get the girls off to bed!Mo sounds like one tough young lady. Glad she wasn't hurt badly. Hope she's feeling better. And we love Cheeseburger in Paradise.
Go get em, Mo! It must have been a bad day for our girls. Mine was walking around the 4x4 that surround our swingset, using them as a balance beam. She tripped and landed on a stump in the yard, right on her upper thigh. She was screaming and crying that awful "I'm really hurt" cry and I went running across the yard to her. I thought she was swinging and fell off, and I had visions of a broken arm in my head. But she has a doosey of a contusion on her leg. It's going to be all kids of beautiful colors in the next few days.
Cheeseburger in Paradise has yummy salads!Get well soon, Alyssa!
:cool1: :cool1: What did you end up buying?
Overall a good day.Congrats to all 3 boys! Great job!
ETA: FINALLY! They canceled it.Yea they cancelled it!
Hooray! I didn't even notice you edited it. We're going to the Reds game today (at least part of it, since we bought tickets a while ago) ... I'm glad the sun is finally shining here, but our grounds are a swamp too -- I was hoping for your sake they wouldn't have to play in it!Hope you had fun at the game. The Braves aren't playing well at all.
Could you all pray for rain before 4pm for me? Lots O rain please????

Hello, All!
We're home! I'm tired and I have a ton of stuff to catch up on before tomorrow morning.
:wizard: and  to all!I'm glad you got to spend time with your mom this weekend. You're in my prayers.
I can't remember if I posted or not, but Nick got straight A's for the 3rd consecutive marking period :thumbsup2 I'm not sure where all his motivation came from this year, but I hope that he doesn't lose it. I'll pick up Hunter's report card tomorrow as it didn't come home on Friday :confused3WTG, Nick!
I keep telling myself...just keep swimming...just keep swimming.
You are truly the Energizer Bunny. Your house is going to look amazing.
Yesterday I washed all my fabric and ironed the 2 fabrics for Emma's new shirt, the 2 non Disney fabrics for Lizzy's shirt and the 3 fabrics for the sleep pants for the kids. I bought 2 patterns online from www.youcanmakethis.com (http://www.youcanmakethis.com) Tom has used them. Can't wait to see the pictures.
Joe & I did Cape May for the first time for breakfast in Jan and I really enjoyed it. I just took a peak at the matrix and think I would like Cape May if we can get a good time. I would love to be able to go late (more like a brunch) and be able to do Soarin before breakfast. I find the characters are really great at the late seatings. If we can't get a good time then I'm sure we'll have fun at O'Hanas. I don't have anything planed for Friday yet so Emma & I could always go Epcot at rope drop that day for Soarin'.
I think they phones might be busy tomorrow.:laughing:I'm glad you enjoyed it. We're trying it for the first time this trip.
I never did get a nap today, but I have just a little energy left to entice Elizabeth with cake. :teeth:

I'll be MIA this week too. The doctors are removing the stitch, so my newest DGD should be here by the weekend. I'm packing up and going down Wednesday night.. They have plenty of computers, so I should be able to keep up.
I need help with the poke cake. I found how to make the cake, but the jello, is it the same as the package, or is it thicker? Thanks!!!
And yes, I added a counter.:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: I made sure it wouldn't overlap Elin!!!! Gotta call tomorrow and make my ADRs...:yay: :yay:

(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130210582634&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=003) She is a size 8. I paid more than I planned but it does have three dresses instead of just the one. My sister says my niece loves to play dress up and will want to keep the dress.
I think Aunt Vicki did very well! Travel safely today. :)

Morning DDA! Mom left for home in Vegas. Bob and I are trying to save up for a grill for our next party in June (if anyone wants to come, let me know!). We are hoping for a grill that we can convert to natural gas - but don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it either. We started looking at a Charmglow and then saw horrible reviews on it...so it looks like we might be saving a little more for a decent Weber now. I'll have to check out Consumer Reports on grills...

I got the blank notebook I had made from Walmart photo that I planned to use as an autograph book for Emma. I'm not happy with it at all. It didn't have a sturdy back, the photo quality was lousy, and the text wasn't centered correctly on the page. I'm hoping they will take it back because it wasn't worth $9.00. It would be much nicer if I glued a photo to a blank notebook. I'm disappointed because it seemed like such a great idea.
Bummer! I hope they will take it back when you point out the poor quality!

Hello all. :wave2:
Just a quick check in.
Mom had complete knee replacement on March 27th, so there were more doctor visits before then.
3 days in the surgery center, and now I run back and forth during the day to take care of her, as Dawn works nights and is sleeping during the day.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Heidi
PD and prayers to her! It's great to see you.
Feel better, Elin!
Elin -- I hope you are feeling better!
Well it's been slow going but I have reached another mini goal, this one has extra meaning as I'm now at the weight I was in 1992, so I've taken off 16 years of weight gain. I had to go shopping for new under garments, I had a serious case of droopy drawers, :rotfl: . DH wants to know why when women lose weight they lose their breasts too, :confused3 , sorry.
I'm very proud to say that they listened, :yay: .
Have a Great weekend friends!
Hooray for you! That is awesome news on your continued progress. Congrats to DD. You have a right to be proud -- good work!
I hope to be back after I get the girls off to bed!
Bless Mo's heart. Was she sore yesterday?
Go get em, Mo! It must have been a bad day for our girls. Mine was walking around the 4x4 that surround our swingset, using them as a balance beam. She tripped and landed on a stump in the yard, right on her upper thigh. She was screaming and crying that awful "I'm really hurt" cry and I went running across the yard to her. I thought she was swinging and fell off, and I had visions of a broken arm in my head. But she has a doosey of a contusion on her leg. It's going to be all kids of beautiful colors in the next few days.
Cheeseburger in Paradise has yummy salads!
How is Alyssa doing? Andrew had something similar happen on Thursday at soccer practice. He was running full out and went to stop (ball went in the street) and slipped down. He had scratches running half way down his thigh, with a huge goose egg and multiple bruises that are bright colors now.
I was happy to hear the boys did well. Sorry about the case. I hope you can find someone to help you.
Hello, All!
We're home! I'm tired and I have a ton of stuff to catch up on before tomorrow morning.
:wizard: and  to all!
I'm glad you made it home safe.
I can't remember if I posted or not, but Nick got straight A's for the 3rd consecutive marking period :thumbsup2 I'm not sure where all his motivation came from this year, but I hope that he doesn't lose it. I'll pick up Hunter's report card tomorrow as it didn't come home on Friday :confused3
Congratulations to hime -- that's fantastic.
Congrats to Daniel. I hope the next game has better weather.
I keep telling myself...just keep swimming...just keep swimming.
Just keep swimming...just keep swimming... I know it may not seem like it to you, but I think you've made great progress. Keep it up!
off topic...have any of you listened to Randy Pausch's "Last Lecture"

Our Friday baseball games were cancelled, and so was Andrew's 9 a.m. soccer game on Saturday -- all because of rain. That gave me time to make peanut butter balls for the tournament this weekend. I got up early on Saturday and got Randy and Andrew ready to leave for the baseball tournament that was 1 1/4 hours away, and then Jake and I started on the cupcakes for my brother's 40th birthday yesterday. We left for Jake's soccer game around 11, and that went well. They won 3 - 0, I think. We then hustled in to Dallas for a birthday party. That was tons of fun. It was a monster truck party. They had someone come in who had a big blow-up bumper thing, and they put it out in the park, with all the remote control trucks, and let the kids run over each other. Jake had a blast, and I had fun catching up with the Mom's. I usually don't get to do that. Then we went and ran a few errands (including getting Randy a few new shirts for the new job he starts today) and made it home in time to start wash and ice the cupcakes. Andrew and Randy got in around 8, and Andrew did pretty well at the tournament. They won both the games that day.
We left yesterday by 8:30 and didn't get in until after 11:30 last night. To say I'm tired is an understatement, but Andrew had a good tournament -- much better than he's been playing lately, and he got to pitch yesterday. They lost their first game to the team that won the tournament, then we went in to town (I use that term loosely as my aircard wouldn't even work there) and had lunch, then went back to the fields and hung out all afternoon. We shouldn't have been as late getting in last night, but there was a 2 hour delay on the field we were supposed to play on -- sewer or something started coming up on the field :scared1: so that field was retired. They didn't have their spare fields mowed, so we had to wait until they mowed one, raked it etc. Then we won the next game something like 8 to 4, then went to another field and played the championship game against the team we had played that morning. We did end up losing and getting second place, but we did much better the second time we played them.
I'm really ticked off as my aircard didn't work, and I couldn't keep up with my bids for the school auction. I ended up losing all but two of the items I bid on. Unfortunately, they were both things I won for Jake's class. Andrew should understand, as he saw how many times I tried to get on to bid.
Another busy afternoon. Jake has soccer practice at 5, which I'll take him to for 30 minutes, then he has his first baseball game of the season and Andrew has soccer at 6.
Have a good day everyone! :)

This is what I am waiting for! Shh don't tell anyone, but I have about 4 different planning itineraries depending on where we stay :rotfl: I have PC booked now, but I am thinking that might change(of course that depends on a good discount).
We may end up doing part of our trip at WL if we can't get an AP rate at AKL. We liked WL, we just didn't like their transportation. For 6 or 7 nights we can stay there if it means a better price.
I hope Alyssa's leg doesn't bother her too much today. And, poor Nicholas! I hope this moves quickly out of your house and no one else gets it!
Hope Nicholas is feeling better and that Alyssa's bruise isn't bothering her! :wizard:
I know... and for myBob and me it was a wash financially. For others it was a good deal.
I don't think free dining is really "all that". It just sounds SO wonderful that everybody gets whipped into a frenzy over it. But having to tip OOP makes it less convenient, and paying rack rate for the room makes it less economical!

It is sore to the touch and looking very colorful. ;) If it gets really pretty I'll have to take a picture of it. Thanks for asking.
But now it is the other one. Nicholas woke me up at 3AM saying he felt like he was going to throw up. We made it to the bathroom in time and he emptied his stomach. He has been sleeping since, so I'm hoping that he just ate too much. But he will still be staying home today.
Oh no! Hope he is o.k. this morning.
Only 8 more days before I can make dining reservations at Disney!!! And less than 6 months to the wedding. :scared:
Have a beautiful day everyone!:dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:
I agree & the time span for the free dining keeps getting shorter & shorter :sad2: The 1st two years we were able to enjoy this along with being able to go to MNSSHP!.Yes, in 2005 We came in on 10/1 & stayed til 10/10.(Free dining ended 10/4) & we were able to have FD the whole trip. It reall is a very short time this year. We are not doing the free dining or the DP this year so I am just a spectator this time around.
Andrew had something similar happen on Thursday at soccer practice. He was running full out and went to stop (ball went in the street) and slipped down. He had scratches running half way down his thigh, with a huge goose egg and multiple bruises that are bright colors now.
:wizard: for Andrew so he heals quickly.

WL is one I am keeping an eye on, along with AKl lol
Money wise I should probably stay with what I have, but(there seems to always be a but :rotfl: )I have other things rolling around in my mind. Garrett would love to stay at AKL again, Riley thinks staying at FT. Wilderness in a cabin would be cool(I do as well, but worried about transportation & I would not be getting a golf cart). Both boys like the looks of WL & CSR(well really the pools lol).
So now I have all these different resorts to think about & if a AP discounts comes out, that will be the deciding factor on whether I upgrade or not.

Janet, your solo trip is close, too! Which means Bernadette's trip with Emma is also close! :cool1:
My trip is not that close, but I did e-mail AKL IPO about a birthday cake. We'll see what they have to say about it.
I still haven't figured out what to do about DH's airfare for August. The fare is back up to $238 today so the ticket I have on hold for $188 is looking better!
I have also been looking at the calendar trying to work up a plan for when my mom has surgery. That would be MUCH easier if I knew what week they were planning to do it!

I bought a Cinderella dress for my niece. Do you think I did ok? Here is the lot I bought. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130210582634&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=003) She is a size 8. I paid more than I planned but it does have three dresses instead of just the one. My sister says my niece loves to play dress up and will want to keep the dress.I'm sure your niece will LOVE them!!!
We had a good time with John's parents in Birmingham this weekend and saw his brother, SIL, and grandmother. We came home early as Rees and BK are sick, so I'll be headed to the doctor with them tomorrow. We are going to Huntsville on Thurs or Fri to see my grandmother and mom. This week is Spring Break for Atlanta.
Hope they're feeling better soon!
I'll be MIA this week too. The doctors are removing the stitch, so my newest DGD should be here by the weekend. How exciting!

I just got off the phone with DH. I think he is kind of disappointed about us missing free dining, but he KNOWS we didn't save any money with "free" dining last year. We had identical packages for 2006 & 2007, and the 2007 one with FREE dining was only $500 cheaper, not the whole cost of paid DDP cheaper. If we had gone with an AP rate on the room we would have saved $630 ($70 x 9 nights). We could have purchased plenty of food OOP with the DDE and probably come out better. Too late now! :rotfl:
I just hope all the frenzied "free" diners understand that they need to tip the servers on the full cost of their meals. I guess I don't get all the posts from people who say they will ONLY go for free dining because it is too expensive otherwise. Are they really saving THAT MUCH money? :confused3 I guess for folks who are big eaters who don't have AAA or APs maybe it makes a big difference?

She expects people to give her things and she isn't grateful for anything. Which does NOT make me want to pay to take her to WDW. She will find something to be a snot about and we will all suffer. :headache:

Hi, all. Home from the Peds with Rees and BK. They both have ear infection, sinus infection, and bronchitis. Not a fun way to start Spring Break. I went and picked up their meds and have already given them a dose. Hopefully, they'll be able to travel later this week to see my grandmother. It'll be our last trip to her home, as she's moving to the Nursing home in a few weeks. Her health is really deteriorating.
Roaches are the ONLY bug I freak over. When John and I were first married I saw one on the floor in the guest room where I was working on the computer. He was asleep. I stood on a chair, beat the wall, and screamed until he came to get it. Not happy with me at all!
Hope everyone is well. I'm just so excited that our trip is getting so close FINALLY! Please pray that we don't cancel this one too. And John initiated talk for a Christmas trip, so we're planning to book a bounceback trip when we go. I'm not sure when I'll be working so it might not happen, but better safe than sorry! At the least, we'll be back before a year is up.

Hopefully the meds will work really quickly, and the kids can travel and enjoy their spring break! :wizard:
And Hooray! for John initiating a Christmas trip! I hope that this one goes smoothly (I'm getting so excited for you guys!) and you can work out another one this year... that would be wonderful, after having to cancel a few trips! :goodvibes

I know ;) My sister is very similar in her attitudes. Can your sister stay with your aunt while you take your mom to celebrate or would that cause more drama?
My mother would flatly refuse to go on a trip without her. My mother sticks to the story that my sister is deprived and disadvantaged, so my mother would rather stay home and have my sister go on a trip than leave her at home. If I am going to do it, I will have to bring both of them.
Denise - I hope the kids are feeling better soon! I am sorry your grandmother's health is sliding. :guilty: Good luck getting a December trip worked out!! :wizard:

Apparently Le Cellier has changed their menu. Not for the better, in my opinion. I might be canceling our ADR and looking for something else for dinner. Maybe we will do an "eat around World Showcase" night after all!
To me it doesn't look that different. I see a few new things added.

Ok, will it be HORRIBLE if I don't make matching shirts this trip? We may have a couple, but no more than that. Will the pictures look bad? I may try to at least coordinate our colors each day.

Tammi- How is Nicholas feeling?
Thanks for asking. Whatever it was seems to have been a one-time thing. I gave him oatmeal and cinnamon toast for breakfast, and then he didn't eat anything again until 4, when he wanted ravioli. Oh there was a banana in there somewhere too. I know ravioli wasn't the best thing to give him, but he seemed to be doing better. Now he is on the phone with one of his little girlfriends and they are playing Webkinz together. I kept them home from CCD tonight, just so they are taking it easy. He does complain about his stomach hurting every once in awhile though. :confused3

I would love to meet up with you somewhere so the boys could get together! If things go my way we might being staying at the same resort ;)
What date is your birthday?
Janet - What are your August dates? Did you work out what to do about airfare yet? We should see about getting together so the boys can meet each other at some point before the Cape May dinner. :)

Robyn, what was your opinion/experience on your 3D/4D ultrasound of Lucy? I had been determined to take my sister to one of my ultrasound appointments because I think she would love it, and we have so many. But so far, they have not been the experience I would want her to have (very little cutesy stuff, since they - of course - have to use it for the diagnostic tool that it is, and have to cover twice as much ground! :)). I absolutely refused to pay for additional ultrasounds when we are getting them so frequently as it is, but I think the experience we had at the Becoming Mom Spa was much more along the lines of what I want for her to have. So.... we initially planned to just do another 2D, but the price difference is so minimal with a discount I get there (we're talking maybe $70 different for 20 extra minutes (double the time -- probably worthwhile in and of itself), 3D/4D images, DVD AND VHS (really? :confused3  ) web hosting, a CD with 30-40 images, additional prints, etc. We of course opted for this, when we saw all the extras we could get, but now looking online I'm just not impressed with most of what I'm seeing. It's almost as if some of the video/photos from the 2D are just as good, if not better than the 3D, if you don't get really lucky. Thoughts?

the story on my new dog is....
the spring class started today and will last 3 weeks. at the beginning of may the trainer will call me and we will talk to help her decide which dog i will get. there is the racetrack dogs there now and they are all yellow and MALE. so i will either get Talladega, Atlanta, or Watkins or some other dog i don't know about. Lisa is a puppy raiser for KSDS that i have been talking to for about a week and she and i are playing the game let me see if i can guess who i get. for all i know i might get a dog from the snake litter. its highly unlikely though because they are just coming back from their puppy raisers.

My birthday is Aug. 5. We arrive Aug. 1 and depart Aug. 17. Right now the ressies are blocked Aug. 1-4, 4-10, and 10-17. The first part is AKL concierge and that won't change. The other 2 blocks I can juggle around depending on what AP rates look like - we definitely want to add the DxDDP to the middle part.
