Morning all,

About an hour ago I received a phone call from my manager, her son was killed tonight in a motorcycle accident. I am so devastated, I cannot believe this happened :sad1: Matt was in his 30's & a father to a wonderful little boy that recently turned one.

Please say a prayer for Mary & Russel & for their family as they try to deal with this very sad tragedy.

I cannot go back to sleep, so I am going to go ahead & get ready to head to work. Chat with you all later.

 That's horrible. What a tragedy.

I called my mom to see what time her appt. is. She thinks it is for 10:30, but she never heard from the office so she was thinking there might be some sort of mix-up. I told her to be VERY aggressive in getting them to see her today if they claim not to have her scheduled. her response was "Oh, well, if the doctor isn't in today then there isn't anything they can do." I told her to insist that another Dr. in the practice see her - they aren't CLOSED! This isn't a pap smear, for crying out loud! :sad2:

Thanks for the PD! Seems we'll need it!

Okay, I need a vacation. We just got hand sanitizers at work so we can use them after handling money and other things. We all seem to get sick very easily. We are just so excited. You would think we had won money or something.

Then one system that we use, we discovered that when you click on help, you can bring up a parrot. Well he is just the cutest thing. He sleeps, eats crackers, listens to a headset, gets out a spyglass and of course he will ask if you need help with what you are doing. I am sitting here getting the biggest kick out of him.

Heck, I don't even drive and I can change a tire.

that's what I was thinking!!:lmao:

the only tire I haven't been able to change after the Premiere of "Cars" we had a flat and even the tow truck driver had to use the hydraulics to loosen the thingy a ma jig (hey, I said I could change it...not tell you what everything is:goodvibes )

That would be the lug nut. If they are put on with an air gun they are harder to get off. Chris carries a 4 way wrench in his truck instead of just the one that comes with the vehicle as it gives better leverage ;)

I'm off soon to bring Colby to school. It is cooler today, maybe mid 60s. I think I'll take a walk while he is at school. I've been wearing my croc cleos a lot lately and they really seem comfy. I'll take a real walk and make sure they don't rub me the wrong way over time. I'm thinking these may be my summer Disney shoes. I found the mary janes comfy in October, but they are still a bit warm.

Thanks, guys. I have already spoken with American about how to switch my flight if I have to leave from Disney, go to KC, then go home. If I leave in the middle and then go back to WDW I will still fly home with DH & DS. Having our ressie booked in 3 chunks instead of one big thing will be helpful, too. I guess I feel like "people" (not sure who those people would be  ) must think I am horrible for planning this trip when my mom is ill. My cousin and my aunt are all in complete agreement with Momboss and you all - my trip has nothing to do with my mom and I will absolutely leave WDW (or not go, or whatever) if my mom needs me there.

Seems like we could all use some PD lately, but if there is any to spare please send some my mom's way for her appt. with the OB/GYN today.

We are now officially in double digits!

Off to pack some lunch for DS!

I don't think anyone could possibly begrudge you taking care of your little family, and I'm the first to say that I view vacations/time off as absolute necessities. As it is, we all work too much anyways! I hope all works out that your mom will be in great shape, and won't need you this August, so you can have a stress (and guilt) free vacation! Lots of PD for the OB/GYN appt. too! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I thought the same! Guess inspiration finally struck! :thumbsup2

DS does deserve the trip, and so does DH.

Did you not like the things you bought for yourself? I hope you find some you like better!

You all need this trip!

I bought myself low rise shorts-Tommy Hilfigger (sp?). I just don't like low rise. I bought myself Ralph Laren capris and I just don't like capris and I bought myself a blouse that I didn't realize was as rufflely as it is. I didn't try anything on because I was in a rush to get back to work and I knew I had shoes to return for Emma. Maybe I can hit the outlet mall sometime this weekend.

Thanks. It was a bit overdue :rotfl:Very cute!!!

Even if my mom isn't terribly ill the stress alone is enough to make me need a trip. The weeks in between appt's makes me want to climb the walls.

Low rise anything is usually not advisable, in my experience. I do like capris. I can do without ruffles. ;)

Still haven't heard back from my mom, but I have yet to meet and OB/GYN who runs on time. I also imagine if they are doing additional tests it will take some time.

I thought about that Baggallini bag all night last night. I couldn't stand it. I took Princess to Marshall's after gymnastics and I bought the other style of bag. It actually is the briefcase bag. I love it! They also had the "Berkshire" bag, which I hemmed and hawed over. Then they had a big "overnight" type bag (the style name wasn't on it) but it had the metal rim around the top that made it super heavy. It had a built in waterproof pocket - very nifty - but not really what I needed.

Now I need to buy a laptop to go in my fabulous new bag. :rolleyes1

Was it Kristine who said she uses Avast anti-virus on her laptop? I am trying to figure out how to get a laptop for less than $900. They don't start out that much, but by the time I add all the crap that's what it would be. Ridiculous.

Robyn - I got a thing in the mail saying if we join the DMA we'll get 2 free adult tickets to Tut and 30% off additional tickets. I haven't heard from the website where I registered to "pre-purchase". Current museum members can already buy the tickets, so DH and I are tossing around buying a membership since we were going to the exhibit anyway.

John was working for my cousin's husband and stopped one night at their house to ask a question, I was there because every Wed. we used to go there for dinner.
Well I was serving coffee and when I went to give him his I spilled it in his lap. After we left, said cousin gave him my number and he called that Friday.

We use AVAST for our most of our computer's antivirus program. It's free and it has always worked for us :thumbsup2 Comcast now provides McAfree free of charge for their users so we have that on a few as a trial since AVAST has always worked so well.

I was a good girl and walked while Colby was at school. It is just about 2 miles, but it is heavy traffic, cracked sidewalks still covered in sand and gravel from winter. To make it worse at least 1 1/2 miles of it is uphill. The good news is that it wasn't hard to do and I could easily have walked further and my Croc Cleos did not hurt my feet at all. I think I have my summer WDW shoes :goodvibes

I was a senior in high school and me and a bunch of friends used to go to a weekly dance at a teen center the next town over. Chris also went to the dances. I met him several times between September and March. I was working at a movie theater at the time and my best friend wanted to go out with a coworkers son, but she wouldn't go alone so I needed a "date". Mind you I had never had been out on an official date with anyone. I decided to call Chris and ask him out. That was no easy task as no one knew his phone number since his family did not have a phone until just days before (think dirt poor). Anyhow I did get hold of him and he accepted my date. We went to the movies to see Lethal Weapon. We've pretty much been inseperatable since. In fact our second date was the next day. :goodvibes :lovestruc

Chris was a sophmore in high school when we met. I went off to college, but came home on weekends and he finished high school then he went off to a 2 year college and we both came home on weekends. We both graduated from college in 1991 and were married in 1992.

Chris proposed to me on Christmas Eve 1988 and he was just a High School Junior. Can I just say that my parents were not impressed and were totally in denial. His friends thought that he was crazy. We were engaged for nearly 5 years before we got married, but it goes to show that you just know when you've found "the one". Now that I see my boys growing up I can't imagine Nick being engaged in 4 years  So now I see my parent's point, but back then I knew that they were trying to ruin my life :rotfl2: Oh and my parents LOVE Chris now.

I went to the grocery store to buy Hostess cupcakes. DH was supervising the check-out lanes. I asked him if it would be possible to work there part time, but be scheduled around the hours of my full-time job. He kind of sneered at me and said "You can fill out an application." He was very rude.

The store manager was delightful and was very nice about only scheduling me when I said I could work. DH started talking to me when I was working the 8 PM - midnight shift. My mom went up there one day to take a look at him. When she came home she said "You don't like him." :rotfl:

How did you meet your spouse/so?

We met in college. I was a sophomore transfer student, and he was a freshman. My roommate was friends with his roommate, so we just started going for meals together, etc. Eventually we realized that we didn't particularly care for our roommates, but we enjoyed being together. I actually graduated 2 years before he did, because he was in a co-op program (5 yrs), and I was in a regular BS program (4 yrs). I found a job in the same area that he was still in for college for those 2 years. We married exactly one week after his graduation, and we'll celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary at the end of May and 25 years of being together in December.

Beth - when in May is your anniversary? Alan and I were married on May 26. It will be 18 years for us next month.

Must say, didn't think you were the type to have the police come knocking. ;)

I met Alan at school. We were both attending the same university. He was a freshman and I was a sophomore. We were both working in the theater departments spook alley. Later, we ended up at a party together, and I took him back to his dorm. We sat outside his dorm talking in my VW bug for about 3 hours. Campus police even knocked on our window since we'd been sitting there for such a long time. We just hit it off right away. We were inseparable after that!

How did you meet your spouse/so?

John was working for my cousin's husband and stopped one night at their house to ask a question, I was there because every Wed. we used to go there for dinner.
Well I was serving coffee and when I went to give him his I spilled it in his lap. After we left, said cousin gave him my number and he called that Friday.

Jim and I met my first weekend I was at college (he insists he saw/met me earlier in the week). My roommate and I were both new to campus but she had a friend that had transferred to Rocky. That friend had already gotten to know a group of friends so we horned in on their time.

The next weekend Mel and I hosted a picnic at the adjoining park. Jim arrived late and missed me getting hit in the nose with a raquetball but he didn't miss: jostling me so hard that I fell off the teeter totter, seeing me do a face plant off the slide and being tripped and falling. Oh, and someone telling a joke just as I took a drink of grape pop that promptly flew out my nose. He is the only one who saw all of this and not once did he laugh at me. :lovestruc

Age doesn't bother me, but for some reason I always told myself that the person I married, must be older then me. :confused3

I'm going to beg some spare pixie dust if you've got it. I was told by my doctor that I'm not producing enough progesterone, so they've put me on a pill for that. I have to go to the doctor for an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon to make sure that all is well. Please send me good thoughts for a safe baby, and an ultrasound that shows that all is going well!

Thanks!

We have stayed at Pop 3 times and we love it. The bus service is great, and you don't share buses with any other resorts. I like to stay in the 70's section, 4th floor, on the end as far from the elevator as possible. Still haven't heard back from my mom, but I have yet to meet and OB/GYN who runs on time. I also imagine if they are doing additional tests it will take some time.

She enjoys doing things for the exact reason that it is what I told her NOT to do. :headache: The thing is, I am not telling her things to boss her around. I am telling her because it is REALLY important. :sad2:

Sooo...

:rolleyes1

Where are the pics of this fabulous bag?! ;) I would love to know how much luggage you own - it wil probably make me feel better! :rotfl:

Jonathan and I actually went to the same HS, but he was a few years ahead of me, and we didn't run in the same circles. But, our school was small enough, and we knew of each other.

Fast forward about 5 years, and my best friend at the time was dating, and then became engaged to Jonathan's next oldest brother. (Their families had been friends forever from church connections, but his brother was about 8 years older than us.) I was her maid of honor, and Jonathan was in the wedding, too. He "noticed" me during all the wedding stuff (he'll tell you he noticed my shoulders :confused3 ), and asked my friend if he could call me. And the rest, as they say, is history!

(Unfortunately, my friend and his brother divorced about 2 years later, but we at least have made it for almost 10 years!)

Hal and his family were in San Diego visiting his Aunt whos hubby was the Navy as was my idiot step-father. Since they were out to sea, my mom gave the okay that I could go out on a car date. I talked to the aunt and asked a few questions about him. I found out that he was two years older than me and his brother was my age. This was in June of 1965 and I was not going to turn 16 till September. Naturally after talking to him, I decided that he was going to be my date.

He came to the front door and looked so handsome that I swear I told myself that I was going to marry him one day. We went to the TuVU drive-in and saw The Trouble With Angels and some other movie. The second movie we were making out in the front seat and his brother kept having to turn the air on cause we were fogging up the windows. :rotfl: Two nights later he took me to see Flight of the Phoenix and Stagecoach. Then another day we went to the beach with his whole family.

We cried the last night that I saw him and then they went on with their vacation. I received a letter a few weeks later from him and he told me that he had fallen love with me and would try to see me as soon as he could. He then didn't write for another 6 weeks as he had broken his big left toe the first day on the job at Hershey Park. He was working the turnpike and it got caught in the brake. (strange how breaking a toe stops one from writing.)
I got a big box of stuffed animals from him and there was no note or anything just the stuffies.

He went to college in Wahoo, Nebraska and came out for Thanksgiving. Then he joined the Navy and came out to San Diego for boot camp in Dec of 1967 and I was able to see him while he was going to school. We went to Disneyland in 1968 and after I graduated from high school, my family left for Key West, Fla in June of 1968. He had me fly up here to Pa to meet his folks in November of 68 and he proposed at that time, the 17 if I remember. We planned the wedding for August of 1969. We changed the date a few times because he kept getting different dates for school in Groton, Conn. Naturally his mother kept thinking I was pregnant. That was the longest two year pregnancy:rotfl: :rotfl: .

We finally got married June 7 1969 almost three years to the date we first met on a blind date. This June will make it 39 years married, 42 years knowing him.

I'm glad I took that leap. :goodvibes

Our first date we went to dinner, and then went to a local marina to sit out on the docks, where we talked well into the wee hours of the morning. He proposed to me on those same docks about 9 mos. later, and then we had our wedding reception at the hotel adjacent to that marina. :cloud9:

I have stayed at AS Music (a long time ago) and AS Sports (last September, for a night), as well as Pop. They are all fine, IMO (you're going to Disney World!) but I really, really enjoyed Pop.

Reading all of your stories is fun! Kyle and I met when I was dating one of his best friends :teeth:

Things were just casual (between Jeff and I) becuase I was absolutely NOT interested in a relationship after some pretty devastating stuff throughout high school, yet am bad at being totally single :rolleyes1 Kyle and I hung out because of these same friends (we were also in a show together, and ran into one another sometimes in the Micro building, where he was a senior major and I was a freshman). After a while, it was apparent that Kyle and I were pretty much meant for each other. He and Jeff had a heart to heart (well, or whatever level of conversation this would be between two college guys) and both knew I belonged with Kyle -- and we were inseparable the entire semester as it was!

When he called to ask me out, I turned him down because I wasn't interested in dating anyone. (Also, it might have been a little bit about not being interested in dating Kyle. I wasn't completely shallow, but I just didn't see myself with him at all! I had dated the frat boy/athlete (if he was both, even better!) and Kyle was just a big goofy nerd! :)). We continued to hang out, though, and truthfully never went on a single "date" until we were already well established as a couple. After my denial wore off, we were just somehow "together".

And for the record, Jeff was in our wedding party :goodvibes {That part always disappoints people looking for a scandal :rotfl: }

I just got a phone call that I passed my 3-hour Glucose Tolerance Test with flying colors! You can only fail one out of four levels, and I was significantly lower than the cutoff on all 4! This isn't totally surprising to me, since my blood sugar tends to run EXTREMELY low (as in, I have frequently passed out without monitoring it). Somehow, though, I failed the challenge (I still think they mixed up my sample with someone else! :rotfl: ) so I assumed maybe things had swung the other way while my pancreas is working for 3 people. :confused3

Either way, I'm glad. Mostly because I was worried I'd have to go out and buy all of the supplies, only to end up in the hospital right after and not need my own! ;)

I'm so sorry to hear this Janet, many prayers being said.

Could I ask for some pixie dust for Saturday please? I am having 20+ people over for that cookout and the weather forecast is rather bleak.....thunderstorms. I don't mind cooking in the rain, but I don't know where I'll put all these people if they can't be outside on the deck!

:wizard: :wizard: Hopefully the rain will hold out until after the cookout.

Thanks!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Lots of PD for Peanut!

Beth, you have to go to dinner, DH and I are making the trip just to meet everyone, the more the better!

No actual photos because I don't have a camera at work! :rotfl2:
How much luggage do we have? Oh, my. Um...

A cheap 2 pc. set from Foley's that is in the storage unit.
A big, heavy, floral tapestry garment bag thing. I'm not sure where it is.
A nice Samsonite overnight bag that DH decided was too small.
A nice Samsonite laptop case that I didn't realize was for a laptop.
A rolling duffle that most of the interior is taken up by the frame of the bag.
Big Red, my 29" Samsonite.
Big Blue, DH's 29" Delsey.
2 big black Samsonites, maybe 24" each.
A no name black suitcase that matches the rolling duffle, maybe 23".
Little red, my Samsonite carry-on.
Little blue, DH's carry-on.
Little gray, DS's carry-on.
The souvenir duffle - packed flat in a checked bag, then carried on coming home.
The Magic bag (my "personal" item for carry-on, which is about to be retired.
The Crocs backpack (with tags still attached, which has now been displaced by the briefcase Baggalini.)
The brand new Baggallini "urban" backpack for the parks.
My old Adidas "mini" backpack that is coming apart, which will be retired.
DS's Croc backpack.
DH's backpack (filled with cameras in separate bags.)
Assorted other totes, backpacks, and camera bags that we don't use because we bought something else. :)

Do I win? :confused3

You know what? I think we have a 24" blue Delsey, too.

Mostly because I was worried I'd have to go out and buy all of the supplies, only to end up in the hospital right after and not need my own! ;)

Good news!! Glad the results were all favorable!

Oh, yeah...and I need a few opinions if anyone has them. I did something extremely impulsive last night (well, impulsive for me, I've actually been thinking about it for several weeks). I still can't believe that dh ok'd it.

Anyway, I'm taking my younger two to WDW in August! I have non-refundable airfare booked. This has to be a budget trip, and I have never stayed at any of the Value resorts (family of 5 and all). Pop or All-Stars?

Thanks!

we loved Pop...in fact Cass asked that we split the stay between Pop and wherever she decides for her grad trip.

I finally heard back from my mom about half an hour ago. The Dr. did a biopsy on the thickened area and sent a polyp she removed for pathology. Now we wait. :rolleyes1
I told my mother I was VERY concerned about the thickened area and explained to her how the cancer may spread to the uterus and present as an area of thickening. She had no idea that was a concern, so of course she didn't push the issue with the doctor. WHY am I the only one who knows these things?! I HOPE the OB/GYN has at least a passing interest in oncology, or that the oncologist mentioned it in the referral, or something! With her breast cancer being the more "rare" kind I just worry that something may get overlooked.

She can't remember when the biopsy is supposed to be back. :headache:

You've got it! I was on lots of progesterone suppositories to support the beginning of this pregnancy. I pray they caught it in time and you stay nice and high. How far along are you now? Hopefully you'll get to see the little heart flickering away and everything! :yay:

Thanks. I'm 8 weeks today. I'll have to take these pills until I'm 14 weeks at least. I'll do weekly tests to see how it's going. I'm hopeful that we'll see the heart tomorrow. That always makes it a bit more real. At this point, I'm just thankful for the morning sickness as it keeps things real.

They very likely could just make you eat the right diet for GDD and monitor your blood sugar for a while around the same time you would be tested. I hate the Glucola, too. The first time around it was all I could do to keep it down, as I literally gagged it back in barely the allowed amount of time. I sat by the toilet, swearing it was not going to stay in me! If I would have been unable to complete it, that is what my OB planned for me. To act as if I had GDD, which certainly never hurts anyone! Thanks, Jennifer. Her goal in life really is to make me completely nutzoid. She still hasn't filed the claim with her cancer policy that gives her $2000 upon initial diagnosis of internal cancer. I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter.

She picked up something
off the ground and started to put it in her mouth.

I took the item away
from her and I asked her not to do that. 'Why?' my daughter asked.

'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's
dirty, and probably has germs' I replied.

At this point, my daughter
looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Momma, how do you know
all this stuff, you are so smart.' I was thinking quickly.

'All moms
know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test.

You have to know it, or they
don't let you be a Mom.

' We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes,
but she was evidently pondering this new information. 'OH...I get it!'
she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad.

''Exactly' I replied back with a big smile on my face.

When you're finished laughing, send this to a Mom..

How did you meet your spouse/so?We met at a bar which is pretty funny because neither of us drink much but I sure had a few that night. I had just graduated from college (in Dec) and my friend had also just graduated. She had met DH at a bar a few years earlier and they connected as friends because they were both Lithuanian. He called her the next day and asked her for my number then he called me and asked me to go the symphony with him. That was over 25 years ago. Our 23rd anniversary is in September.

8/13-8/22

I think I'm still in shock. We already have a big trip planned this year. I don't usually spend money like this, and dh is even less likely to approve such an expenditure.

Why Pop over the All-Stars? We will have to be on the buses, because I can't afford to rent a car. Is one better than the others that way?:woohoo: I'm staying at ASMu (8/14-8/28) because were staying in a familiy suite and I think it might be the quietest of the values so good for DH. I've also read great things about activities they've been doing at the pool-like showing movies on an inflatable screen. And the rooms have been remodeled-some have the privacy curtains like the moderates and I think all have a peg board coat/hat rack like the moderates.

BUT...I really LOVE Pop!!! I like the frozen coke in the refillable mug. I like that it has a dedicated bus but then again if the lines at one of the AS resorts looks too long you could take any AS bus back to the resort and it would just be a short walk. I also like that Pop is on a lake-it just sort of adds to the atmosphere. I like the pools at Pop too but can't really say why they are any better than the AS's.

My daughter may freak out at that, but I'll run it by her. She wouldn't go to meet Bernadette and Anne Marie and was afraid that I was going to be hurt in someway. Of course, she doesn't even know about the trip yet. I'm trying to figure out how to spring it on them.BUT...you survived that so now we're REAL friends not some ax murderers from the net.;)

I just got a phone call that I passed my 3-hour Glucose Tolerance Test with flying colors! :woohoo:

I have my Victorinox bag with detachable daypack, shoulder bag and waist pack. It was on clearance when I bought it and came with the daypack. I figured I "had" to get the shoulder bag and waist pack while I could. They were both on clearance for under $20.

I have my Victorinox large tote bag. I got this cheap too-under $20 and it retails for $150.:scared1: I think this will come with me in May.

I have a 25" rolling Travelpro-too easy to go over the weight limit on that. A 22" rolling Travelpro with garment section. An 18" carryon size rolling Travelpro. A doctor style carryon Travelpro.

A rolling LLBean duffle. A rolling Samsonite daypack.

An Eddie Bauer backpack duffle (big non rolling). A free smaller duffle from work. An Eddie Bauer soft suitcase. A Nike small duffle.

An Eddie Bauer briefcase/daypack. Eddie Bauer book bag daypack. The kids all have 1 rolling daypack. 2 Nike mesh backpacks-great for hot days in the parks and easy with security check.

The new Baggallini Urban Backpack and the new Baggallini A La Carte Bagg.

It's pretty funny that I have all this and only want to take 1 checked bag.:rotfl2:

But then he didn't call me til about 6pm to tell me and I was already on my way home-opposite direction from going to MIL's.:headache: By then the kids were already getting tired as they had been there all day and I'm sure MIL was too.

I guess I should take advantage of the quiet house and get Emma's dress made. I talked to SIL and I am going tomorrow night to see her so she can see if she can help me with my buttonholes.

When I was pregnant with Jacob, my doctor told me they were participating in a study, and asked me if I would rather drink the Glucola or eat a King Size Snicker's bar. Hmmmm, tough question, right???

By the time the twins came around, I guess the study had not been successful because I had to drink the nasty stuff. It was orange that time around, and it was horrible!!!

Do you want it to be serious, or silly?

My BIL threw a wake for my SIL's 40th. Black balloons, coffin cake, candles everywhere. It was kind of fun!

For mine, Alan threw a surprise party and asked all the guests to bring their favorite nacho topping. He supplied the chips, and nacho cheese sauce. We ate nachos, played kiddie games, and for dessert had things like Twinkies, Hostess cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies.

Should I be annoyed with DH? He told me this morning that he his sister from St Louis wanted to see me and I told him I thought Friday would be better for me. So this morning he talked to his Mom and she said it is such a beautiful day come on up today instead. OK.

Off to go sew.

I'd be annoyed!!

Well I am going to be reall nosey, and even if we did this before just humor me, ok?

How did you meet your spouse/so?

John was working for my cousin's husband and stopped one night at their house to ask a question, I was there because every Wed. we used to go there for dinner.
Well I was serving coffee and when I went to give him his I spilled it in his lap. After we left, said cousin gave him my number and he called that Friday.
Bob and I met online... (Tammi - Jinx you owe me a drink! :rotfl:)
We talked for about three months online, then progressed to the phone and then met in person after that. July Fourth we went to Blossom Music Festival - our outdoor pavilion/music center - for their fourth of July orchestra show and fireworks. There's been fireworks ever since!

Could I ask for some pixie dust for Saturday please? I am having 20+ people over for that cookout and the weather forecast is rather bleak.....thunderstorms. I don't mind cooking in the rain, but I don't know where I'll put all these people if they can't be outside on the deck!
Can you rent a tent last minute?

I'm an older woman, too. We're coming to the time of year that dh likes, because between my birthday in May and his in August, he can claim to be 2 years younger than me. :rotfl:

Between Sept 18 and Nov 18 Chris is 2 years younger than me :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm going to beg some spare pixie dust if you've got it. I was told by my doctor that I'm not producing enough progesterone, so they've put me on a pill for that. I have to go to the doctor for an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon to make sure that all is well. Please send me good thoughts for a safe baby, and an ultrasound that shows that all is going well!

Thanks!

Neither did my dad. He was not happy. Since he was a professor at the college, he read about it in the campus report. I was in so much trouble!!!

Ooohhh. I bet you had some explaining to do :rotfl:

Oh, yeah...and I need a few opinions if anyone has them. I did something extremely impulsive last night (well, impulsive for me, I've actually been thinking about it for several weeks). I still can't believe that dh ok'd it.

Anyway, I'm taking my younger two to WDW in August! I have non-refundable airfare booked. This has to be a budget trip, and I have never stayed at any of the Value resorts (family of 5 and all). Pop or All-Stars?

Thanks!

The only value we've stayed at is Pop. We've stayed there twice and love it.

My daughter may freak out at that, but I'll run it by her. She wouldn't go to meet Bernadette and Anne Marie and was afraid that I was going to be hurt in someway. Of course, she doesn't even know about the trip yet. I'm trying to figure out how to spring it on them.

So plan to meet, but don't tell the kids. Would it be strange to just run into some Disney friends? We ran into DDA in October at times that we hadn't planned to meet. :confused3

Mostly because I was worried I'd have to go out and buy all of the supplies, only to end up in the hospital right after and not need my own! ;)

I didn't know that diabetes was a risk for you. Considering how little weight you've gained I wouldn't have suspected it.

Oh, you really should be able to see wonderful things! I will be praying diligently for your appointment. What time is it?

And I've been told, although boy does it NOT help when you keep throwing up through the third trimester ;), that morning sickness is a great sign! :thumbsup2

I was told that nausea is the sign of a healthy baby...Healthy Mom not so much...but healthy baby. My boys were all healthy.:thumbsup2

I see that my DH has been reading today as he has made reference to things that were posted and I hadn't read yet. He's a sneaky little devil :goodvibes

We're at 65 days until our trip :cool1: Somehow it seems so close yet so far away. I have so many non Disney related things to tie up before then. I also need to drop 10 lbs or my shorts will not fit and that will totally screw up my clothing itenerary.

Hi all! Just wanted to pop in with a quick hi. I'm way behind because it has been a crazy week! Plus, Terra and I are going camping with Rachel's Girl Scout troop this weekend so I'll be gone a few more days.

Phil stayed in major abdonimal pain off and on through Monday. He saw the dr Mon afternoon and he suspected gall stones. Scheduled an ultrasound for Tues morn and send home with a script for some meds. Well, those meds didn't do jack and we ended up at the ER at midnight Mon night. Got home at 5am with a script for Prilosec in case its an ulcer and for vicodin. Ultrasound Tues morning showed no stones so we're leaning toward the ulcer dx. The meds seem to be helping some, but he's still pretty queasy and often feels weak. Hopefully the GI dr will call back tomorrow to make the appt.

Otherwise, I've spent the week trying to catch up on all of the sleep lost sitting with him through the weekend pain and then at the ER.

I hope all is well. Seeings as how I'm God knows how far behind, I may just jump in here. Please let me know if I missed anything big! I hope that everyone is doing well. :grouphug: and :wizard: all around.

I hated it with Katie. It was this nasty lemon-lime flavor and I really had to work to gag it down. I was teaching at the time, and had to drink it before leaving the school, and then drive right to the doctor. I honestly thought I'd have to pull over and toss my cookies, but somehow I made it.

Well, it looks from the ticker that I missed something big! Are congrats in order, Glynis?!?!?! :dance3:

You've got it from me as long as it stays away from here as well! Mo's party is outside at our park. There is a pavillion but I'd rather not deal with rain at all.

Thank you all for the prayers for Mary & her family. This is just so heartbreaking. I keep thinking of his little boy that will never really know his dad. I keep seeing them at work yesterday playing hide & seek & hearing Tyler's(he just turned 2, I posted the wrong age earlier) little squeals of delight when he would see Matt. They had a beautiful last day together & that I guess we can be thankful for.

:wizard: & to all I have missed.

I drank the orange while I was pregnant with Alyssa and Matty, and this time tried the lemon-lime. I must be a weirdo (that's rhetorical people! :teeth: ), because I didn't think it was half-bad.

Sending you a ton of :wizard: Glynis.

Denise, I know I missed you, but have a MAGICAL trip!

A big :wave2: to everyone.

It was a crazy day (Open Gym, Alyssa's school field trip, etc.), so I'm running on fumes. I'm enjoying reading all the "how DH and I met" stories. I'm not feeling very coherent, so I'll save our story for another day (or maybe Kevin will tell it when he gets home from Republican Club. :teeth: ).

Emma, Lucy and I hit the craft store earlier this evening and since there is a Marshall's right next door we stopped in. One last thing before I go...

Eric and I met when he started working at the same store, CompUSA, as I did in the late summer early fall of '94. There were a bunch of kids our age that all hung out together after work and on the weekends. We didn't start dating until near the end of January 95. Our first date was to The Lion King, it was playing at the dollar theater. Both of us really wanted to see it and hadn't yet so it was perfect. We ended the night at Taco Bell, very romantic-huh, (it was right next door to the theather, and talked for a few hours. I can remember that one of our co-workers, Dora, was so excited that Eric and I hooked up. She had been pushing for it for a long time, but both of us sort of danced around it for a while. Sadly, the week after our first date Dora was murdered. It was horrific, we were all just barely 20. She met a guy a few weeks earlier and he killed her for drug money the night of the Superbowl. She was actually missing for about a week or so before she was found. I think we sort of just stuck together after that.

But by May, Eric and I went our separate ways. I had found a new job and our schedules weren't working out so well and he wanted to spend every last second of time that we could together. I felt smothered and wanted some "me" time too. We both still lived at home and it was just too much.

We than ran into each other again at the bowling alley in January of '97. It took about a week or two after that before we had another "first" date. My girlfriend called him and had him call me, she and I thought something was still there a year and a half later and we were both single.

This time it worked, We were engaged that May, at the wishing well at Cinderella's Castle. And it will be 10 years this October that we got married.

Emma's dress is done except for the buttons and buttonholes. It was going great until she tried it on and it was way to long. It looked goofy-looked homemade so I took it apart and cut 4 inches off. I pinned it up and tried it on before I cut it so hopefully it will look cute now. She's asleep now. Joe slept through the lights on and the sewing-I have the sewing machine on his desk.

Hope SIL can help me out with the buttonholes tomorrow. I want to make Halley's sleep pants before the trip so I can take them with me. I got her flannel with flamingos as she loves flamingos. I saw the same fabric in cotton sheeting and thought it might be nice to make her some PJ shorts she could actually wear now in FL. The other projects will have to wait as now my neck is killing me so I want to take a break and get better for the trip. And I have to pack! So American Express (my Jet Blue card) sent me an email that if I fly between something like May 1st and May 15th they will "buy me a drink"-just show your Amex to the flight attendant.

Then I get an email from Owner's Locker that they want to buy all members who are in Epcot on May 6th from 7:30pm til Illuminations a drink.

Too bad I'm not much of a drinker. I can't see me drinking on a 9:30am flight and I'm afraid if I drink on the 6:45pm flight home I'll fall asleep. Not sure if I can make it to Epcot for the Owner's Locker event.

What a nice story, except of course the part about Dora. How horrible.

Thanks!

Beth,
I totally missed that it was just the 3 of you. If you stay at ASMu you'll have a friend close by. Not that any of us who will be at WDW wouldn't come to Pop if you needed anything.

You might want to check out the ASMu thread.

:grouphug: and :wizard: all around.

sounds like Phil is in need of :wizard: and prayers.

Have fun this weekend!!

I really need to stop procrastinating and start assembling King Kandy's castle and Grandma Nutt's house before I head off to bed. I don't have a lot left to do before Saturday but it feels like a lot. Thankfully the little stuff is done. Tomorrow I just have to decorate the cake and then get the food items prepared.

Emma is spending the night at her girlfriend's house tomorrow night and I am hoping that I can get Mo over to my in-law's for the night. It would be so much easier with her trying to help ;)

I will chat with you all tomorrow. Good night!

Before I forget...last week I popped in down to the Children's Area at work and Anna had told me "Mom's painting Willy Wonka". I go in and say "It looks like Candy Land". Hi, Hope you all have a great weekend. I will probably not be on again until Monday or Tuesday. Monday I am taking my test.

I have to pack stuff tomorrow, for everything through Sunday night. Although I may be home before then. I need to plan for the entire weekend away from home. I still do not know details of when I need to be where. Or what I am required to wear at certain places. I am sure I will get that information tomorrow after I have already left home.

I need to type up some stuff for my class, before I leave home as well. Way too much to do too little time. What is new there?:confused3 ;) :lmao:

Have a great weekend everyone:wizard: :wizard: :grouphug:  I am headed to bed. Although I should probably work on some of this stuff tonight yet.

Bottoms up! :rotfl2:
I said something to DS about SW serving beer & wine at 9 AM when we went to KC. Bizarre. :sad2: And for $4 a serving even if I WAS a drinker I might have to pass! :rotfl:

What a nice story, except of course the part about Dora. How horrible.

Uncle1 e-mailed that he can come by this weekend and help me "network" the laptop and the Wii with the router. That means I need to clean like a mad woman tomorrow to get things presentable!
Hopefully the maintenance guy will come today. We have a BIG water leak in the roof. Yesterday I noticed some magazines I had on the counter were all wet. Weird. So I called DH, he didn't know anything about it. When he came home he started looking around and discovered we have water stains across about a 4 foot section of the ceiling. :scared1: The section ends just over the area of the counter where the magazines were, so it must have dripped out of the ceiling above the counter.

Y'all have been very chatty the past week...

I'm skimmed, so I apologize if I miss remarking on something important.

Glynis -- I'm so thrilled for you and Alan. Sending lots of PD for you. I hope the appt. goes well.

Elizabeth -- PD to your Mom for the tests. I hope they come back ASAP. I finally got the biopsy on the skin my dermatologist sent out last week. It was a good thing he took the spot off as it was pre-cancerous, but I'm fine for now. Boy do I hate this fair skin...

Tammi -- sending PD for good weather for you this weekend. I hope the parties go well.

Robyn and Elizabeth -- about Tut tickets -- I'm a member of the DMA. I don't know how many tickets I'm allowed, but I'll help out if I can.

I've been out in CA on that business trip I told you guys about a while back. My plane left early on Wednesday from CA to miss the storms in Texas, which was nice. We did land in Dallas, and on time. (Our route went to Phoenix and back through El Paso to Dallas to miss the storms.) Jake's play was yesterday (that's why I came back early) He did really well, and then I hurried back for the lunch I was giving for our admins. Andrew had soccer practice last night and Jake had a double header baseball game (make-up game from earlier) so we weren't in until 9:45 last night. I've got to get caught up at work, then the boys get out early and I have errands before Andrew's game at 6. They may not play, as it's supposed to rain some more here in Dallas. I need to get food together for the cook-out at the tournament this weekend, and get re-packed for that. Luckily, we don't drive to Waco until tomorrow (and Jake and I will go after the others because he has a soccer game) and we'll stay at the Hampton Inn with the rest of the team Saturday night.

Please send good thoughts to Andrew. He really needs more confidence for this tournament this weekend.

Elin -- thank you so much for the advice about Napa Rose. It was fabulous! I met a friend from a Disney cruise two years ago (we still keep up on our cruise thread) for dinner one night, and it was fabulous. So good, in fact, that I went back the next night by myself and sat at the Chef's table. A really fabulous treat!

Have a good day everyone!

What a romantic start...The Lion King   A true Disney love story for the two of you. I'm sorry you had to live through a tragedy at such a young age. How horrible. In some ways I'm sure it strengthed your bond with all of those friends including Eric.

Have to do my Owner's Locker box this weekend to ship via UPS on Monday.

Good luck getting things done. I hope you can relax a bit now and feel better. Button holes are much more intimidating to think about than to actually do. Of course I have an automatic button hole fuction so that may help.

Nicholas just woke up and came in my room. I asked him what he wanted and he said he wants someone to tell him how many eyelashes he has. I can hardly type this without giggling. Then he started stammering about something and again I asked what he wanted and this time he said Kinzcash. :rotfl: That must have been some dream he was having!

So did you count his eyelashes :rotfl: :rotfl:

My parents got in this afternoon. We all went to Nicholas' soccer game, which they lost, then came home and had pizza for dinner. Tomorrow my mom will start making some of the food for Saturday and my dad will wash all the pollen off of the porch and deck.

It sounds like your parents are helpful like mine. It's nice to have some backup from time to time :thumbsup2

What a romantic start...The Lion King   A true Disney love story for the two of you. I'm sorry you had to live through a tragedy at such a young age. How horrible. In some ways I'm sure it strengthed your bond with all of those friends including Eric.

I guess some things are meant to be!

It was a horrible thing to go through but we also all learned a very valuable life lesson.

I managed to make some headway with the pieces for the cake but I really need the cake to finish everything from this point.

Here's my menu for tomorrow, please tell me this sounds like enough. I am forever second guessing myself

Hot Dogs
Baked beans
Cole slaw
Pasta salad
Strawberry pretzel salad
Deviled eggs
Chips

Cake
Ice cream (or should I do freezie pops? They will be easier to keep cool at the park)
Brownies

Poor Eric and his dad cannot have hardly anything as Passover doesn't end until sundown tomorrow. We didn't realize that it was Passover when we decided on the date.

That sounds like a wonderful picnic/party menu. Maybe you could do some freezie pops and same hoodsie cups. The freezie pops would help keep the ice cream cups cold. I'm sure the kids would prefer the pops, but the adults might lean towards ice cream :)

Hi folks...

Checking in...

Big congratulations to you Glynis!!!!!! I will be thinking of you today. As Jennifer mentioned about progesterone suppositories....that may be something to ask the doc about.

It's been a whirlwind of activity here.....

Jonathan received a fellowship award...this will fund his research project during the summer....we are trying to help him get an apartment secured for the summer...the kid is so nonchalant that it makes me crazy!!

Bill's son & family from Indiana are coming in and will be staying with us...as much as I enjoy seeing them....taking on an additional 4 people is a little overwhelming....so I have been cleaning up a storm

I am getting close to the 30 day mark with our trip....and I feel unprepared. Packing for a 3 week trip scares me

Good morning :) How are you?

Bottoms up! :rotfl2:

Uncle1 e-mailed that he can come by this weekend and help me "network" the laptop and the Wii with the router. That means I need to clean like a mad woman tomorrow to get things presentable!
Hopefully the maintenance guy will come today. We have a BIG water leak in the roof. Yesterday I noticed some magazines I had on the counter were all wet. Weird. So I called DH, he didn't know anything about it. When he came home he started looking around and discovered we have water stains across about a 4 foot section of the ceiling. :scared1: The section ends just over the area of the counter where the magazines were, so it must have dripped out of the ceiling above the counter.:drinking1

Good luck with the networking!:surfweb:

Please send good thoughts to Andrew. He really needs more confidence for this tournament this weekend.:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Good luck getting things done. I hope you can relax a bit now and feel better. Button holes are much more intimidating to think about than to actually do. Of course I have an automatic button hole fuction so that may help.Well...the Buzz buttonholes look lousy. My machine has 3 stiches for the buttonholes-one for each side and the tack for the top & bottom. I can't seem to get my stiches tight enough even when I set the stitch legnth very small. My SIL said she'd try to help me-maybe adjust the tension. I'm sure she can figure it out. I'm going after work today.

We played musical beds last night with DH & Emma in our bed, Joe in his own bed, Lizzy in Emma's bed and me in Lizzy's bed. I actually slept really well and my neck (and outlook) were much improved this morning.

Marci - :wizard: For the boys' games! Did you get to go to DL for a bit?
I think we may end up joining DMA, but if not I will let you know! Thanks!

Tammi - I have never wondered how many eyelashes I have. It is kind of an interesting question! :rotfl2:

Deb - The leak is going to be tricky to fix because of the way the walls and ceiling come together in that area. The living area ends, and the ceiling in the dining room is lower than the vaulted part in the living area. The wall is wet if you look up going into the dining room (It is very hard to explain), and the ceiling in the dining room is wet just beyond that piece of wall. In the past they have patched the roof and repainted the wall, not replaced it.

Bernadette - Well, as long as the musical beds worked out for everyone...:rotfl2:
Good luck with the buttonholes!

Robyn - Sounds good! I like ice cream, but that's just me. ;)

Kristine - Yay for Jonathan!! How exciting! :goodvibes

Glynis - Thinking of you today! :wizard:

Thanks for all the good thoughts for my mom's biopsies! She isn't concerned, but I am!

Princess & I are off to the mall to exchange some shorts. Hopefully the smaller size will fit her.

First of all you will have a washer and dryer so DO NOT pack for 3 weeks. I usually pack for a week and a half and just do a load of laundry here and there when we have time. That should greatly decrease you anxiety. I'm already getting things together for our trip in 64 days :goodvibes

Good morning, DDA! I am so glad it's Friday!!!!!

Glynis - lots and lots of sticky thoughts for you today! :wizard: :wizard:

Janet - continued  .

Tia - I was so sorry to hear about Phil - I'm sure both of you just have to be exhausted. I hope these meds do the trick for him, and he can get a proper diagnosis soon!

Tammi - yay for your van! :yay: :wizard: for no rain. Nicholas cracks me up. :rotfl:

Becky - good luck with everything you have going on this weekend! :wizard:

Robyn - the menu sounds delicious. You need to fill me in on the stawberry/pretzel salad - it sounds very interesting, and I'm wondering if it's what I had at a bridal luncheon last weekend. Is it more like a dessert?

Jen - good luck on your test! :wizard:

Bernadette - good luck on those button holes. Any type of sewing (buttons included) intimidates the heck out of me! Who knows, after getting yourself and your luggage to the airport in the morning, you might want a drink. Bloody Mary, maybe? ;) SW Airlines sends you a packet of "free drink" coupons when you get an award ticket. I use them occasionally, but had a ton in my briefcase. I found the way to get rid of them - be on an evening flight with 6 of my attorneys - GONE!!! :rotfl:

Elizabeth - continued prayers for your mom's test results. I got a thing in the mail the other day about the Tut exhibit, too. I contemplated doing the membership thing, but decided against it when Jonathan didn't act too interested in the idea. :confused3

Marci - glad to hear you had a good CA trip! That Chef's Table at the Napa Rose sounds yummy! Lots of prayers for Andrew's tournament this weekend!

Denise - looking forward to hearing how the big "reveal" goes - not long now!!!!

Have a great weekend. Thank you for all of the good thoughts recently they are greatly appreciated. Sorry I have not been acknowledging all of you individually.

Here's the recipe that I have, it's my grandmother's

2 cups crushed pretzels
3/4 cup margarine, melted
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
6 oz. box strawberry jell-0
3 tsp sugar
1 cup sugar
1 large container of Cool Whip
20 oz. frozen strawberries

Mixed pretzels, margarine and the 3 tsp of sugar together. Press into 9 x 13 dish sprayed with Pam. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Mix Jell-o as directed, refrigerate and let thicken for a while. Blend cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar, fold in Cool Whip. Pour over pretzel layer. Add 20 oz frozen strawberries to thickened Jell-o. Pour over creamy layer and chill. You can also just add the Jell-o and then top with the strawberries.

My appointment is at 1:30 MST.

You got it! Please let us know how it goes, until then I will say a prayer and be sending sticky (and peace!) thoughts! :goodvibes

I hated it with Katie. It was this nasty lemon-lime flavor and I really had to work to gag it down. I was teaching at the time, and had to drink it before leaving the school, and then drive right to the doctor. I honestly thought I'd have to pull over and toss my cookies, but somehow I made it.

I had the orange with the challenge, and they said I would have the lemon-lime for the 3 hour (since it is a different formula). I told them I really didn't know if I could do lemon-lime, but it turned out to be orange anyway. I can completely sympathize barely making it through! I asked if I could do glucose tablets (which would be EXACTLY the same, just tasting better) and they said no. :confused3 Oh, well, it's over!

I drank the orange while I was pregnant with Alyssa and Matty, and this time tried the lemon-lime. I must be a weirdo (that's rhetorical people! :teeth: ), because I didn't think it was half-bad.

Jen, a hockey player?!! :lovestruc

::yes:: Yes, on both accounts! ;)

I didn't know that diabetes was a risk for you. Considering how little weight you've gained I wouldn't have suspected it.

I was told that nausea is the sign of a healthy baby...Healthy Mom not so much...but healthy baby. My boys were all healthy.:thumbsup2

Well, multiples increase your risk tremendously. Also, even though I ordinarly hypoglycemic, it is a risk factor because my body isn't great at regulating my blood sugar (even overcompensating is a sign that it doesn't know what it's doing ;)). Even still, they just screen everyone who is pregnant, risk factors or not.

Crap! I forgot to watch! Well, 15 minutes left.

We were out buying a laptop. :rolleyes1

Hooray! I looked, but did i miss what kind you ended up getting? Networking it isn't bad at all, hopefully you'll be up and running soon!

I am glad Phil is feeling a little better now. I bet it could be an ulcer. I hope he is feeling 100% soon!

:rotfl: Too cute! I have some fantastic sleep walking stories from the Kaufmans about my poor BIL, and my sister has spoken some doozies in her sleep as well. We always think (after the fact) that we should start a journal or something!

Good morning all! Denise, have a great trip!

Im headed to work..then out for dinner/drinks...I may be back tonight, but tomorrow i have a huge test at 730am, so if you could cross yoru fingers for me, id greatly appreciate it! i dont wanna pay 130 bucks to take it again!

TGIF and hae a great day

Get some rest tonight (try!), and good luck on your test tomorrow! :wizard:

So Kyle and I are the proud parents of not one, but 3 new free Webkinz! :rotfl: I was slightly embarrassed by this notion, but it really couldn't have been any better a deal for us. I have needed to purchase more thank you cards for a week or two now, so I thought I'd check out the prices at Hallmark. I was only going to get one or two packs, thinking they would be more expensive than the previous ones from Target, etc. Well they are on sale 40% off, so I found some cute ones for a dollar cheaper per pack than I would have paid at Target. By the time I bought what I needed, I had accumulated 3 free Webkinz! :thumbsup2 For once, I was not even a sucker who bought crap she didn't need just to get a "free" deal :rotfl:

The laptop is a Toshiba. A very basic one, with no bells or whistles. I told them to take out all of the trial software and whatever because we are ONLY using it for internet access, e-mail, and to load photos from our digital cameras. That's it. I guess we can think about using it to watch DVDs on the plane, but the guy said the battery life is only 2 hours. Uncle1 did say there is a website where you can see which seats on the plane have electrical outlets - might have to ask him about that. We didn't get the extended warranty because the whole machine was $500 and the warranty was $250. We'll just buy another one if this one breaks!
They haven't called me so I don't know if it is ready or not. DH didn't think they said they would call, so maybe I misunderstood. :confused3 I'll go by after work to get it, unless we are having massive storms AGAIN.

Luckily Uncle 1 is very techno-savvy so he can answer my questions and help me get things sorted out. :)

Princess & I are off to the mall to exchange some shorts. Hopefully the smaller size will fit her.Couldn't you just make her a pair?

I returned the stuff the Marshalls at lunch. Good thing I was paying attention as the clerk forgot to give me credit for the $30 capris. They had a Baggallini organizer/wallet type bag-about 5x7 or so that you would wear either direction. They also had a Teeny Baggallini that I really liked but both were bright yellow.

Bernadette if your SIL can't make it work you can pop the items in the mail and I'll do them quickly for you. With my machine it takes about a minute per button holeThank you! How nice but it won't come to that. If we can't get my machine to work I'll have to get a new one. What do you have?

My van passed the emission inspection today. The best thing is that I did not have to spend a dime. The man at the service station reset the the code for the "check engine" light and that seems to have done the trick.:woohoo:

Bernadette - good luck with the button holes! That's one thing I haven't tried. I'm all for the snaps with a pretty (fake) button on the outside. ;)Thanks. I was thinking of velcro too but I really need to get the button hole thing down so I can make Joe a button down shirt.

Good morning, DDA!!! Thanks for all of the well-wishes for Phil. He's feeling okay now. Still nausea seems to be hanging around, but the severe doubled-over-in pain part has subsided. He is still feeling pretty weak though, which has him concerned. I'm going to try the doctor again in a few min in hopes that they can get him in next week.

I'd better get moving though as I've still got to pack for camping and have a few errands to run. Have a good day everyone!:wizard: Hope you can get Phil an appointment! Have fun camping!

So I think I have everything I need for the weekend.
Hope you can have some fun this weekend!

Bernadette - I can't even DRAW a pair of shorts, let alone SEW them! :rotfl2: I am quite skillful at exchanging things, though! ;)
Sounds to me like Marshall's is continuing to get more styles of Baggallinis.

Jennifer - I am a little nervous about the laptop since we have never had one before. I am sure I will get used to it. :)

Princess is napping but she keeps coughing. She coughed so much I went back to her room with a cup of water, but she was asleep!
Momboss isn't feeling well, so she is napping, too.
I need to go to the grocery but it is raining big, fat drops and the clouds are BLACK. Hopefully by the time Princess wakes up it won't be raining anymore.
The neighbors continue with their reign of terror. Yesterday they were shoveling something (sand, maybe?) from the driveway into a wheelbarrow. This morning (at like 8:15!) they had a load of gravel dumped into the driveway. Now they are over there scraping and banging and generally being annoying. They also have what sounds like a leaf blower but I think it is some sort of saw. Those people are NEVER going to be finished with all of their construction projects!

Hi, all! Thanks for being so excited about my trip. Other than dh, the credit card company, and the airlines, you are the only ones that know about it. I can barely contain myself!

I want to think of a way to surprise the kids with it. I know that Laura will need to know in advance, and I'd like her input on a few things. I may keep Miles in the dark until we are ready to leave, though. Any recommedations?

I was all set to go with Pop, since just about everyone who had a preference said Pop. Then I saw that Bernadette would be at ASMusic for very similar dates. (I hadn't been paying attention to anyone's dates, because I never thought I would be going this year.) Now, I'm still deciding between the two. I am also doing the spreadsheets of fun as to whether to have the dining plan or not. I am leaning towards not, because the two that are going with me aren't interested in doing TS every night or going to signature restaurants. I want to see how much we'll be spending on the TS we do plan to do, though, to see.

I'm thinking sticky thoughts, Glynis!

Jennifer, what are your three new Webkinz, and what is the Hallmark deal that allows you to get them free?

I have to start some laundry, but I'll try to be back before ds gets home.

Chuck & I lived down the hall from each other at Michigan Tech. He was a sophomore and I was a freshmen. We had some mutual friends. I heard his name all the time from one of my male friends. Even though I didn't really know him, I had a crush on him. My sophomore year, we ended up hanging out in the same group. We hung out for about 3 months when we finally went out. 363 days later, we married!

::yes:: Yes, on both accounts! ;)

Hooray! I looked, but did i miss what kind you ended up getting? Networking it isn't bad at all, hopefully you'll be up and running soon!

I am glad Phil is feeling a little better now. I bet it could be an ulcer. I hope he is feeling 100% soon!

:rotfl: Too cute! I have some fantastic sleep walking stories from the Kaufmans about my poor BIL, and my sister has spoken some doozies in her sleep as well. We always think (after the fact) that we should start a journal or something!

It is amazing how different you feel about something when you think of it from the perspective of it being your child and not yourself. I got married at 20 after dating someone less than a year. I KNEW that he was the one. My parents had only met him once in the 1st 6 months we were dating. I can't imagine what my parents thought. Mom says that when we announced our engagement that my dad fell asleep on her shoulder crying that night. I had been in a bad relationship just weeks before Chuck & I started dating. Actually, Chuck was the reason I was finally strong enough to end the relationship. I figured if someone as wonderful as him could be my friend that I deserved better in a boyfriend.

Now, if my daughters were to come to me after only dating for a year and I'd only met their boyfriend once, I think I'd have a panic attack myself.

Ohhh, so you are the older woman. :teeth:

Age doesn't bother me, but for some reason I always told myself that the person I married, must be older then me. :confused3

I dated someone 6 months younger than me and a year behind me in school when I was in high school. I don't know if I could have handled anyone younger than that. In high school, most boys are just too immature when they are your own age let alone younger! The guy I was dating was an exception as I'm sure Chris must have been to catch Deb's eye!

We married 2 weeks after Chuck's college graduation. He started grad school two days later.

Do I win? :confused3

The luggage nests, and most of it lives under the bed. The shorts are in a dresser (we have 3 in our bedroom) and DH doesn't have enough drawer space for his things - they usually end up in a folded pile on top of one of the dressers. I have been looking for another dresser. :rolleyes1

There was a big fire in Grayling and I-75 was closed down. I was routed off the expressway onto a very dusty dirt road. We got off at mile marker 251 and 55 minutes later got back on at mile marker 254.

There were at least 50 homes vacated as well as a nursing home. It had burned 1100 acres. I'm hoping that the rain from here has moved their direction and helps put out the fire. I haven't checked the news yet today.
