A couple of years ago Sister's preschool teacher had the CUTEST Easy Spirit sneakers. She got them at Marshall's. I HAD to have a pair. I drove ALL OVER looking for those stupid shoes in my size and never did find them! :rotfl2: Several months later I ran across them somewhere - it might have been Ross, or maybe it was Marshall's. I bought them and they are so HOT! I have finally been wearing them over the past few months, but there is no way I could take them to WDW. :sad2:Here's my report-Marshalls #1 (not the lunch time one) had a Baggallini Doctor's bag. TJ Max had no Baggallini bags. Marshalls #2 had a Baggallini Briefcase. So no Urban Backpack yet. I've got 1 or 2 more to check out.

I did get Emma 3 pairs of sneakers and had her try them on and see which one she liked the most. She picked the the gray New Balance with Hot Pink! They fit her just perfect now so I'll see if they have them in a 1/2 size bigger. These were from the lunch time store and none of the other stores had them.

Which brings me to the happy news...

Jack (I don't know his middle name yet) is here! I missed Julie's call, since we were at Kroger, but she said everything went great. He weighs 6 lbs, 13 ounces and he's 19 1/4 inches long. Not bad for a month early! :cloud9:Congratulations to Julie, her DH, Kyle and Carlie!

Bernadette- I love that Pink bag! I think I need to go to Marshall's tomorrow:rolleyes1:wizard: Let me know what you find.;) That pink bag is really cute. It has zippers in the sides that you can undo so you can put the bag on the handle of a rolling suitcase. It has pockets inside and key fobs and spot for pens.....I really like it!

Hi guys! I've been out of the loop for a couple of days. I promise to go back and catch up, but I wanted to let you guys know that Alan and I are expecting our 5th child on December 11. We are thrilled, and everything looks good so far. The only concern is that my progesterone level is too low, so I'm on a daily pill to build that up, and ensure a healthy environment for our little peanut! Thanks for all your prayers at this time! We have felt them all!!!:woohoo: Congratulations! That is wonderful news!!!!:yay:

Hi, DDA!

I have been trying to keep up, but I think it's been a week since my last post. :flower3:

Work continues to be busy (yuck), but I'm looking forward to leaving it behind in about a week! :thumbsup2 My parents were in town visiting this weekend, had a bridal luncheon to go to, birthdays to celebrate and shop for, etc., etc. It's been busy!

Just a few things off the top of my head:

Amy - wonderful news about Julie and Jack. I'm so glad to hear all went well - he sounds like a healthy size for 1 mo. early! The pics of you and Jennifer were fabulous - thanks for being our designated shopper. :goodvibes

Denise - so excited for you and the rest of the figs. It doesn't look like our plans will jive at all (had originally planned to go to the P&PP on 5/2, but scratched them), but I'll keep an eye out for you guys! Have fun!!!!!!!

Deb (and Chris) - congrats on all the hard work on the house, and on the new truck! Everything looks fabulous. :wizard: :wizard: for a good appraisal.

Elizabeth - congrats to DS! Hope your wrist begins feeling better soon.

Tammi - I hope all the machines begin cooperating!

Bernadette - more amazing clothes! I don't know where you're finding the time. I'm excited to meet you soon!

Janet - getting excited? :dance3:

Elin - the B&BB looks heavenly! :cloud9: I hope you guys have a fabulous time while you're there.

Terri - lots of :wizard: :wizard:   for you with the situation with your son. My brother (26) is down in FL sorting his life out, and for the most part, it seems to have been a good move. I hope your son has the similar succcess!

Good to see Lynn and Paula pop in!

Jen - have fun making more cruise plans, and congrats on the upcoming interviews!

Jennifer - have fun with those Webkinz! I pray for many more "boring" days for you on the couch while those precious girls grow a bit more. Hey, I'll trade you your boredom for some of my work. ;)

Vicki - glad to hear the drive to Lansing was safe! Sorry that the DS is gone.

Kristine - you are one brave woman! :scared:

Robyn - lots of :wizard: for the days ahead with Molly!

And lots of :wizard: :woohoo:  for anyone I missed! It certainly wasn't intentional.

Tammi - I like your new ticker... I had looked at some of those too and wasn't sure which banner and sliders to choose. You chose well, grasshopper! :)
Thanks. I'm not so sure I totally like it. I'll see after Mickey moves from in front of the castle.

Morning all! Im off to work

but first, last night we all sat down and decided on our excursions...
I wll be going atv riding/ziplining, dogsledding, and whale watching :)

..another 32 days to go!

Have a great day!

Now Chris and I are very jealous. We would love to do all of those excursions. Do you have room in your luggage for us?

Bernadette I was just checking the weather for the start of our trip & wow it looks to be warm! I will be packing shorts only for this trip & plenty of sunscreen :thumbsup2

We have storms going through right now, it is so gloomy looking. I really need to get motivated here as tonight we are pulling up the carpet in the living room & dining room :scared:

I feel for you. I REALLY do :)

We had a VERY strange weekend. It started Thurs when I found out I printed the wrong judges page for the talent comp program book. :scared1: So I busted my back side and printed another. Then Friday was run around day and make sure everything was ready for Saturday. :upsidedow
Sat came and it was wild and crazy, Cassie helped me sell raffle tickets and cruise tickets as well as some program books.

I got Ellie ready and set up for her performances (she did fabulous) I hope to get them up on her site by next week.
http://www.thereporter.com//ci_89931...hereporter.com (http://www.thereporter.com//ci_8993119?IADID=Search-www.thereporter.com-www.thereporter.com)

Then it was out to sell tickets and program. We sold $320 in program books and raffle tickets. I am happy but a bit sad as well. I had printed over 200 program books and we only sold about 50 of them. The gal who did them last year said she sold out and they were only a few pages and ALL black and white, mine had color and pics from last year as well. Oh well some money is better than no money.

Then the talent scout who came up from Holywood asked Cassie if she like modeling and stuff. She invited Cassie to IPAC as well. :woohoo: After talking to the singing teacher who is taking us to Hollywood, we might have found a way to get Cassie down there (not as a performer) but in and around the ageants etc. We don't have enough $$ to send her as a perormer, we still have not gotten enough for Ellie, but we will make sure she goes.
Carole (the singing teacher who runs the pageants in town) told us Cassie could enter the next pageant for free to get her feet wet. That is a $325 savings. Things are looking up for that kid. Oh and she and I have talked about her crap and we figured it was just a very bad day for both of us and we took it out on eachother, so all is well.

THEN Sunday Ellie sang at my Wing Commanders call (big deal, she commands the largest reserve wing the the US) and they loved her. I cried.
http://www.349amw.afrc.af.mil/

My house is trashed because I have done nothing to keep it up in 5 days, but I am spent so part of me doesn't care.

I do hope all is well with the DDA, if anyone has a minute to give me some cliff notes, that would be fabulous.

Enjoy your morning all.

It sounds like you have some talented kids there. I hope you can relax long enough to enjoy all that they are accomplishing.

Luckily I am an anal person... Delta has once again changed our flights for our September trip and sent us no notifications. In fact they have changed our flights no less than 5 times since we booked our fares a couple of months ago. At least this time I got a very nice CS rep on the phone who was able to link our itinerary numbers together so I don't have to keep changing our seats every time! (My flight is on miles and myBob's is on cash so they have different numbers.) One good thing about this current change is that our flight is leaving Orlando 45 minutes later than the one they had changed us to last week. :rotfl:

Delta did that to us the last time we flew them. In fact they changed our flight time AFTER we had already left for the airport. They ended up bumping us to a different flight all together, but it was nonstop if I remember correctly.

Well, nifty!

DS is being inducted into the National Jr. Honor Society next Tuesday! :)

:cool1: :cool1: That is great news. I don't think we have that at our school. I made National Honor Society in High School, but don't remember it earlier.

I think I can handle my one big checked bag with the shoulder bag attached and daypack on. Emma can be in the stroller. She doesn't like crowded places so I don't know how willing she'll be to walk-she gets scared and at least I'll know exactly where she is in the stroller. She can hold her backpack or I can put it in the stroller basket. I'm thinking if I took my bigger tote I could hang that off the stroller handles. So I'm pushing the stroller with one hand and pulling my checked bag with the other. HOW do I carry/pull a 2nd checked bag? I guess I could make Emma walk and put the 2nd bag in the stroller.

I suppose I could take both the shoulder bag and the tote as Emma & are both allowed 1 carry on and a personal item. That tote is pretty good sized.

I did 5 nights with Joe in January so I should be able to do 6 nights with Emma in May. In January we had both cold and warm weather clothes. But I did mail a box in January. I plan a mailing stuff down for my owners locker but I didn't want to mail a box home.

I really need to pack to see what I'm dealing with here.

We are able to hook our luggage together. We have the larger pull behind and the next smaller size clips to the front of the first and so on. That way we only have to drag one thing though it is actually several. Does that make sense :confused3

I'm sorry, Elizabeth! I tend to forget that you joined in this talkative group later.

Julie was never an avid poster, but she kept up for a little while. We were actually friends first, before we had the thread in common; her husband is a bailiff in the same courthouse where Kevin is a prosecutor. Kevin and Dave became buddies, having an obsession with Disney in common. Julie and I became fast friends, and we have a tradition of spending every New Years' Eve together. Their oldest son, Kyle, will be 10 in July and Carli just turned 8. Kyle is 100% blind. Both kids are over the moon that they have a new sibling. :goodvibes

Which brings me to the happy news...

Jack (I don't know his middle name yet) is here! I missed Julie's call, since we were at Kroger, but she said everything went great. He weighs 6 lbs, 13 ounces and he's 19 1/4 inches long. Not bad for a month early! :cloud9:

I'm trying very hard to get things done around here. The weather today was perfect. Bright blue skies, temps in the high 70s and a nice breeze. I told Colby that I wished we could just repeat this day forever.

I managed to not turn on my computer until around 9 PM which means that I kept myself busy all day. I went outside and cleaned the playhouse. Colby and I added fencing around the base as it sits on stilts. I think we will get sand and make a little play area in there for Colby. The fence will keep critters out and the cabin will provide shade to play in. It took a while to do and I managed to get one blood blister, but it looks nice. Now the wind won't blow the outside toys around either as they are fenced in. :thumbsup2

The boys had lacrosse practice tonight and it was their first outside practice. I had forgotten that they needed cleats so I ran out at the last minute to pick those up. I left practice early to go to Kindergarten registration. I was long and boring since I already have to kids in the school.

What is the best way to get to WDW (the Contemporary Resort) from I75 South? I see there are at least 3 choices. I want the quickest and safest route, and we don't mind tolls. But if you suggest a toll road, can you tell me how much $$ I need? We are leaving Atlanta around 1pm, so I'm estimating we should arrive between 9-10pm at the latest (and with a stop for dinner).

Well, I'm finally caught up.

Today was Carissa's funeral. It was incredible! There were over 500 people in attendance. I think that even her parents were surprised. It was a beautiful tribute to her. Her siblings all spoke and sang and did an incredible job. After the ceremony, we went to the cemetery. The horse riding club that she belonged to "Courage Reins" met the hearse outside the church, and led the way. They had about 20 riders and one riderless horse. It was awesome. They did a presentation at the grave site, and it was so touching. We passed out white balloons to all the children and they released them at the end of the service. It was so neat to watch all the balloons rise into the sky. After that, the whole family went back to the church where the women's group had arranged for lunch to be served. We spent from 1:30-3:30 laughing and talking and remembering Carissa. It was definitely something that she would have loved!

It was a beautiful day, full of lots of emotional extremes. So, I think I'm going to call it a day and go to bed!

Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes and prayers! I'm thankful every day for each and every one of you!

Good morning DDA!

Last night I had to make a quick dash into the grocery for some items. On the door was a sign posting available jobs. They have open a cake decorator, which they are willing to train, and a bakery packager which is late at night. I think that the hours would be perfect and I do love to decorate cakes, especially if the mess is not in my house! I am calling today in hopes that I can get an interview. I really think this is the way to go right now. I am dreading spending the summer with the boys and that in and of itself is not a good mindset for anyone. I enjoyed last summer immensely and want that freedom to be able to come and go as we please.

So can I ask for you all to keep your fingers crossed that this is going to be exactly what I need. I'd appreciate it!!

Good to see Lynn and Paula pop in!

Jen - have fun making more cruise plans, and congrats on the upcoming interviews!

Jennifer - have fun with those Webkinz! I pray for many more "boring" days for you on the couch while those precious girls grow a bit more. Hey, I'll trade you your boredom for some of my work. ;)

Sending lots of PD your way, :wizard:

Molly and Lucy had their check ups yesterday. Both did really great but I will give everyone a piece of advice. Do not take an infant and a 4 year old at the same time! Molly had to get 4 shots yesterday and became totally freaked out at the thought. By the time the nurse got there with the shots she was a mess. The nurse had to push Molly up against the wall to get her to hold still. Molly kept elbowing the nurse trying to knock the needle out of her hand. And there was not much I could do as I was holding Lucy.

Lucy is on the small side. She is only in the 20% percentiles for height and weight. She weighed in at 17lbs and is 27 inches long. Our doctor doesn't think she is eating quite enough. She wants me to increase her table foods but I know it won't happen for a while. Lucy just started eating fruit and veggies about 2 weeks after our Disney trip. She shows no interest in feeding herself anything other than cheerios. But overall a good checkup and she was impressed at her verbal skills, Lucy's a great babbler!!

Molly also fared well, not counting the shots. We need to have her ear tubes removed soon and discussed the need to have her allergy tested. We talked about her behavior and she really thinks that it's her age and the fact that she has a baby sister. She also said she really didn't believe me that she was so rotten because of how well she behaves there. My children really know how to put on a show;)

Jack (I don't know his middle name yet) is here! I missed Julie's call, since we were at Kroger, but she said everything went great. He weighs 6 lbs, 13 ounces and he's 19 1/4 inches long. Not bad for a month early! :cloud9:

Give us an update later after you talk to Julie. I was just wanting to be sure everything with Baby Jack was o.k. If you think about it tell Julie that I said congratulations.

The boys had lacrosse practice tonight and it was their first outside practice. I had forgotten that they needed cleats so I ran out at the last minute to pick those up. I left practice early to go to Kindergarten registration. I was long and boring since I already have to kids in the school.

Hi Deb.....We now have something else in common besides our boys and the love of camping. Austin is now playing lacrosse. This is his first year and he is loving it. He actually asked about playing indoors this summer. During the fall he wants to play football and then back to lacrosse in the winter. It took me a couple of games to figure out the objective but we are really enjoying. We actually went to the SELC college playoff on Saturday night. We were able to watch UGA beat FSu. It was great.

I know when I wake up tomorrow, I will not be able to move :rotfl: Our basement is cleaned out, carpet is all up, & all our big items we will no longer use/need are outside for pick up tomorrow. My dining room is bare & our living room has two chairs, end tables, & our tv lol Looks like we are moving out.

Five of Garrett & Riley's friends came over & helped. So Gary & I lucked out & did not have to carry any of the big items outside :thumbsup2 I do think I will have blisters from sweeping so much though lol

I bought pizza for the boys & could not thank them enough for their help. Gary suggested I give them some money as well & I agree, they really earned it today. So I need to get to the bank tomorrow. I am so glad we got everything done today that we was hoping to accomplish.

I was so happy to log on & read all the wonderful news tonight :goodvibes

I need to get in the shower, I feel really grimey :upsidedow

Good Luck. I so understand the need to give up being a child care provider. I don't think that there is enough money in the world to entice me to do that again.

Molly and Lucy had their check ups yesterday. Both did really great but I will give everyone a piece of advice. Do not take an infant and a 4 year old at the same time! The boys are loving the game. Chris played and since we were already dating way back when...I already know about the game. My only concern is how rough the game gets. I don't want anyone hurting my babies ;) Chris tells me that they will get hurt, but the idea is not to get injured

I'm thinking that this day won't be too productive. It isn't a good sign when I log onto the DIS first thing when I wake up :rolleyes1 It was pointed out to me that our main toilet did not want to work this morning. Thankfully the little rubber cord in there had broke in half. I need to pick one up while Colby is at school and that should fix the problem. I also need to be at work at 4 and since I'm out from 11 - 2 with the preschool delivery and pick up as well as errands it doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else. I did manage to find some summer clothes for the boys to wear tomorrow. I'm taking a few items out at a time as I don't want or have time for the mess that comes with completely changing their wardrobes from winter to summer. I really think that we are still in for some more cold weather anyway. The last week has been unseasonably warm, but we LOVE it. I've also got laundry going and I have quickly picked up Nick and Hunter's room as if I can keep them up daily it is much easier overall. The rest of the house is a lost cause until we finish all the work in here. Friday I'll have to pick away at some of it :scared:

That sounds like such a wonderful tribute, Glynis.

We have a young man at our church that sounds a lot like Carissa. He has a joy for life that I must admit I'm envious of. We were seated close to him and his family Easter Sunday, and I so enjoyed watching him sing. :goodvibes

How are things in Denver? Did I mention that my brother and his family moved to the Highlands Ranch area? They still love it out there. I will get to see them when we go to Daytona in July. They are flying in and staying the week with us.

Are you a Bronco fan? I'm so excited to get Jason Elam here in Atlanta with the Falcons. I'm hoping he will bring some good vibes our way. His family goes to our church in Snellville, GA. Actually his brother Mark and his wife are in our Sunday School class. We had him as a guest speaker one morning a few weeks ago.

Talk back to you soon.

so ends my little posting spree.
Today is SAT test day nationwide so Cassidy doesn't go into class until 11:30, she then gets out at 1:15...the kid has the easiest schedule sometimes. What makes me happy is she is going to get help on flute fingering so that she knows she can play all notes at her section leader tryouts.

Abi is in the 6th grade poetry slam today, she is a brilliant and creative writer. The teacher asked them to "act" out their poem (those who made it into the finals). Abi can write, she can't act!! Plus I think it's awfully silly to act out a poem, espescially a serious one like Abi's. I do like that her teachers are showing lots of documentaries about the earth...last night it hit home that they are definitely showing only one side of the global warming argument. Abi and I are keeping an open conversation about it.

Talk back to you soon.

Lynn

I am glad they are enjoying the state....I love it.

I was so, so mad at the higher ups for letting Elam go:headache: . Who the heck let's the highest scorer in Bronco history go to another team. Elam is the kicker all other kickers want to be when they grow up. Sure his leg is getting tired but his tired leg is still better than the majority of kickers out there!! Plus, he is a team leader and a stand up guy off the field...not like the dolts they've kept around paying the big bucks to:headache:

Can you tell you touched a button:confused3 :rotfl2:

and actually the girls and I follow baseball more but I do know my way around the Broncos.

Glynis & Alan I am so happy for you, congratulations!!!! Funny you should say "little peanut", this is what the nurses called Riley when he was born :goodvibes

Thanks, Janet!

The kids were asking what the baby looks like right now, and that's what Alan told them. It looks like a little peanut. Guess that will be the nickname!

Congrats. Hope the morning sickness stays away. When Guenna was born, she was 6lbs, 1oz so we called her Peanut as well.

Thanks, Terry!

So far, so good! Hopefully the sickness won't get any worse.

Katie was 7 lbs, 14 oz, Jacob was 6 lbs, 10 oz, Leslie was 5 lbs, 2 oz, and Mary was 5 lbs, 5 oz. If the pattern holds true, our little peanut will be very little indeed!!

Things are coming together for this weekend. Soccer practice was canceled last night so I went to the grocery store and took Nicholas to get a hair cut. Today I ran to the party store and got Hannah Montana supplies for Alyssa's party and a few 1st Communion things for Nicholas. The cakes have been ordered and I will pick them both up on Friday. Sshhh...don't tell anyone but Alyssa's cake is going into the freezer until Sunday. Her bday party is at the gymnastics center. The kids will spend an hour doing gymnastics and then an hour for the party. I'm just serving pizza, drinks and cake. Do you think I should have goodie bags? I always hate those things as most of the stuff that is put in them is just junk.

Tonight we have rehearsal for 1st Communion. Nicholas is so excited that he finally gets to find out what communion tastes like!

Well, I better get myself dressed and out the door, or we'll be eating ice cubes for dinner!

I've got to run to the school to request teachers for next year, then to the library to drop off and pick up, then the grocery store. Then, I'm sure, I'll be home for a nap! Seems to be what I'm best at these days. My dad says that's why the young people are supposed to have babies, not old ones like me. Can you tell he's not too happy about this? I think he'll warm up, he just remembers what happened when my mom had my brother at 43 and almost died. Poor guy! Too late to worry now!

Talk to y'all later!

We are staying at OKW, mainly because of the bed configuration. The four of them (Bob, DD, his sister and niece) are sharing one studio, because it's the cheapest way to go. They will be more comfortable in the 2 beds as opposed to a sleeper. If I had my way we would be staying at BWV. I've already had my parents at OKW and would like to show them something different. If they go too, we'll have enough for a GG!

We don't do wine at our church. We were practicing at home the other day using toast! They used crackers Monday night at Religion. I'm so afraid that he will gag on it and spit it out!

This story reminds me of my nephew! My nephew yelled in church once. The priest gives a "blessing" to the deacon so he could give the sermon. (To do this the priest places his hands over the deacon's head, says a prayer and we wait for the sermon to start.)
In that lovely long pause, my nephew - only 5 or 6 - decides to ask my mom - making sure that everyone within 25 rows of us could hear asks: "Gramma, is he praying for hair?" Our deacon is bald. :rolleyes1

I know! I have some ideas, but nothing firm. Nicholas wants to eat at CM on his bday, plus I'd like to get the diver for him at Coral Reef. I'm also thinking of going back to HHD since it's been several years since we've seen it, and the kids have enjoyed it in the past. With some newbies coming along, I'll really have to think hard about this.

Very nice! I hope the ipod continues to keep you motivated! :goodvibes

:cloud9:

Welcome Jack! :yay: I'm so glad things went well!

We have felt them all!!!

Glynis, congratulations! I'm so happy for you and Alan!

Wonderful news! And yes, good thing she didn't go full term! :scared1:

Ah, he would have probably still been smaller than i was at birth! :rotfl:

What a wonderful night to check back in....

Hi Lindsay! It's nice to see you!

Jennifer - have fun with those Webkinz! I pray for many more "boring" days for you on the couch while those precious girls grow a bit more. Hey, I'll trade you your boredom for some of my work. ;)

If I can help you from my couch in Cincinnati, I'd love to! I'm sure you are a lot like me, in that you would find it is NOT all it's cracked up to be being out of work and stuck at home! :scared:

It sounds like a beautiful day, and a wonderful tribute!

Good morning DDA!

I called and asked about open positions. While the cake decorator would be my preference it is morning hours which I cannot possibly swing. The other position is a packager and it is part time 4 nights a week. The hours are perfect 12am to 6am, with a definite Friday night. I could quickly get home in time for Eric to head off to work. Since it is only part time I'd have to offer to keep the brother's part time as well. The dad is in school and I could easily ,if they are willing, keep them while he is in school only. I would also stop watching the cousin as they need full time coverage.

I am going up there this afternoon and submit an application. It may not be exactly perfect but it's a start.

Remind your Dad you are not 43! Although I was tired during my pregnancy with Kristin, it was hands down the easier of my 2 pregnancies, even at age 35!

I think he'll eventually come around. He loves being a grandpa! I keep telling him that I'm in better health now than with any of my other pregnancies, so that should be a positive. He just remembers my mom developing toxemia, being life flighted to a large hospital, and by the time my dad got there, he met the doctor in the hall going into surgery. The doctor said, who do you want me to save, your wife or your baby? It was a stressful time. But, like I told him last night, that was 35 years ago!

I know that he will. He is so happy to be a grampa! He takes all of us (for the grandkids) to DL every 2 years. He loves to be on hand for all of the first times...first time to see Mickey, first time on Peter Pan, first time for a character meal, etc. He is a real Disney fanatic!

Glynis, congratulations! I'm so happy for you and Alan!

It sounds like a beautiful day, and a wonderful tribute!

Thanks, Jennifer!

It was a wonderful day!

I loved the pictures of you and Amy. Just one question..... when do you think you will actually start to look pregnant?????? Seriously, you look so gorgeous! I'm sure that you feel huge, but you definitely don't look it!!! I'm so jealous! I was the size of a mack truck at that point in my twin pregnancy! Alan used to joke around that I needed a wide load sign.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm watching it right now! Guess it will have to be my fix since apparently we won't be going to DL for Christmas. We had been talking about it, but with the arrival of the little peanut, we'll have to put it off.

Today I discovered that my local Hallmark store has a Webkinz deal of the week...a full-sized Webkinz for only $7 starting every Monday until they sell out. This week's animal is a duck. I didn't buy it, but it sure is cute and fluffy.

Robyn, those hours sound a little exhausting! Want to trade Mo for Matty today? About an hour ago, he locked himself in the bathroom. I could hear him splashing in the toilet and when I finally jimmied the door open, he had also unrolled quite a bit of paper. :sad2:

When in August are you planning on going? I hope it overlaps our trip.

We are going the 13th checking out on the 16th, we plan on attending the Cape May dinner.

Glad you like it, I'll redo Abi's in teal, I think I found an Oddball picture that is a higher resolution.

:rolleyes1

Don't cha just love it? So how are the wedding plans coming, it's going to be here before you know it.

But see the upside is that those hours would be peaceful. I don't sleep much more than 5 or so hours a night so I could sleep a bit before and then nap when Lucy naps and Mo is at school. And it wouldn't be every night. What I like about those hours is that I can still do stuff with the girls in the evening. It certainly would be an adjustment but I think it would not be as mentally exhausting. Baked goods are attitude free and speechless ;)

See....I've highlighted the key word here. You will not be sleeping at night anymore. So no matter how much sleep you will get during the morning/evening, you will still be tired. Have you ever worked shiftwork? It exhausted me, and that was BEFORE I was married and had kids. I could never do it at this stage in my life. But if you think it's good for you, go for it, and good luck!!! :wizard: :wizard:

Robyn - Those hours aren't quite what DH's are, but still not very user friendly! He leaves the house at 2:30 AM, and he is usually home by 1 PM, so he spends about 9 hours per day on the job. He is asleep no later than 8 PM, and he tries to get a nap before he goes to pick up DS. The thing is, he is so engrained in that schedule that he has a REALLY hard time staying up past 8 PM when he is off.

So today is our 100 day mark. :)
My ticker says 99, but the way I count we won't be in double digits until tomorrow.

My mom sees the OB/GYN tomorrow. I have decided that it was really very irresponsible of them not to include her pelvis in the CT scan they did. At any rate, they are going to have to do some serious biopsies to make sure the "fibroids" really are just that. I am more concerned about the area of "thickening" on the uterine wall. My research shows that can be cancer, and her variety of cancer DOES spread to the uterus. Hopefully the OB/GYN will be very thorough so when Mom sees the oncologist again on May 9 they will know with 100% certainty what is going on throughout her entire body. I want to get my flights booked for her surgery, so hopefully when she goes on back they will schedule it.

I feel guilty being so excited about our trip when she has all these things going on. Unfortunately she refuses to listen to me when I try to help, so maybe I do need to step back and let her do whatever. She is having more repair issues with her car yet she will NOT think logically about it. I made several suggestions and she got all mad. Still, I feel guilty. I told Momboss maybe we should cut the trip down so I can help my mom with her finances. She said we shouldn't cut the trip short because we have tried to help and Mom INSISTS on doing it her own way. My mom wouldn't be so short on money if 1) she would say NO to my sister and 2) she would file her taxes from the past 3 years and 3) she would file all of her medical claims. Her cancer policy will be tremendously helpful IF she files the claims for reimbursement. She could move to a less expensive apartment (they chose that one because it has lots of "amenities", but the actual apartment is very basic), she could get rid of her storage unit if she would throw out all of the boxes of records from my father's defunct business (the man is DEAD, and it wasn't HER business so she is NOT responsible for all that crap!), so on and so on. Since she is so stubborn about making things better I shouldn't feel bad about doing something for my family, but I do. :sad2:

Tell the whole story now, lady!

Abridged version:

A: Would you like me to buy you a Webkinz to pass the time?
J: I don't even know what they do.

(time lapse)

J: I looked at the webkinz site, and they are cute! I called Kyle on his way home to ask him where he was stopping, but they didn't have any at biggs. He said we could keep an eye out for them though.
A: I think you have to get them at Hallmark.

That's it! How was I supposed to know that by answering my question telling KYLE where to pick up a Webkinz, that you really meant he didn't need to get one because you were planning to do it yourself?! :sad2:

As for Friday, I think we are going to try and do the same thing at Hallmark. After all, free is even better than half off. Thanks though! :teeth:

Work continues to be busy (yuck), but I'm looking forward to leaving it behind in about a week! :thumbsup2 My parents were in town visiting this weekend, had a bridal luncheon to go to, birthdays to celebrate and shop for, etc., etc. It's been busy!

Bernadette - more amazing clothes! I don't know where you're finding the time. I'm excited to meet you soon!
Thanks! Can't wait to meet you too. I'm pretty sure Emma will be in store bought clothes for Animal Kingdom.

Won't it be great to be on vacation!!!

We are able to hook our luggage together. We have the larger pull behind and the next smaller size clips to the front of the first and so on. That way we only have to drag one thing though it is actually several. Does that make sense I actually have luggage that does that but I'll try my prefered bag first as I don't think those 2 bags will hold much more than the one one that I really like.

I left practice early to go to Kindergarten registration. I was long and boring since I already have to kids in the school. We didn't go to orientation for Emma Kindergarten. You can register at any time and I really couldn't take the time off from work so DH could go to the orientation. We were just there 2 years ago for Joe and 2 years prior for Lizzy.

I'm thankful every day for each and every one of you!How beautiful.

Bernadette you have a bag obsession like Elizabeth :rotfl: I think I"m probably worse but I don't seem to rival her with pins or clothes.:lmao:

Night all!WOW!!!! It is going to be so nice. How great that the boys were there to help!

I'd appreciate it!!:wizard: Hope something can work out for you but I do agree that it sounds exhausting!

Bernadette - I love all the outfits

Elizabeth-thanks so much for thinking of me today! How weird that we both found the exact same Baggallini backpack at nearly the exact same time. I'm very happy with it but I don't think I can use it in May. I'm sure I'll use it at home and I'll bring it in August when DH can carry a bigger daypack.

My friend has decided to keep both "only baggs". One for her and one for a friend. They are a great bag for $19.99.

I'm sure you think I'm a bit crazy with they way I answered the phone and then couldn't figure out who you were. I had just stepped outside my car when you called so I couldn't see the cell phone. I was sure you were my friend who I bought the bags for. Then I had to rush back into the office to prepare for a meeting.

The meeting went well so I feel better about being gone soon but I still have a lot to do here first.

Which color did you decide on?

OH...and I found Emma's New Balance sneakers in hot pink in the 1/2 size bigger so now to see if they are too big. Last summer we bought Lizzy New Balance at a local (expensive) kids shoe store. I like the $25 price at Marshalls a lot better.:thumbsup2

Now to rush home to wash Emma's lining for her dress. I cut out shorts for Lizzy last night and DH had to run an errand this morning so I got them nearly completed in the 1/2 hour he was gone. I'm anxious to see how they will look on her.

:sad2:

I'll keep your mom in my prayers!

I'm with Momboss. You shouldn't feel bad about your trip! You deserve this!

:rolleyes1

that is so funny!! :rotfl:

Instead of going out to dinner with my Singers friends we came home and sat outside in the :sunny: and had a glass of wine. Now, it is barely dark and I am home, and done with everything. We arrive on the 27th and are not certain what we will do that day. We have no definite plans until CA Grill that night at 9:20. I was hoping to head to AK but it depends on how tired we are when we arrive and if we aren't too late getting to the Poly to check in that afternoon.

The 28th we are tentatively headed to the MK with a stop over at Epcot at the Biergarten for lunch at noon. Let me look at your plans and see what we might work out.

We want to see Lexington and Concord and Sturbridge Village one day, a portion of Cape Cod and also Bob would like to take the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard one morning. So I am thinking we are looking at two separate days there. Then there is a day in the city and a day somewhere around Salem and the North Shore. I am pretty certain my brother and his family will expect to see us while we are in the area too. And Bernadette ... ;)

One of my neighbors kids started acting up, and his daddy got up to take him out, and the little boy screamed at the top of his lungs, "Bishop, help me!" I was impressed that the bishop left the podium, took the little boy from his father, and got the little boy calm!

Sounds like great plans! Do you already have reservations at SSR, and just waiting to switch at the 7 mo. mark?

I'm rethinking aspects of our Dec. trip, and made a back-up DVC reservation yesterday just in case. (We hadn't expected to have any pts. until Oct. '09, but my BIL/SIL still aren't going to be able to afford WDW this year, so we have those points we had set aside for them.) I'd love to change to AKV, but MS was telling me they didn't have anything but SSR and OKW available right now for all of my nights. Have you waitlisted before?

At her 1st Communion, Kathrin was so disappointed that the "host" was not a mint! :rotfl:

Elin - thanks for asking, I'm doing quite well, (knock on wood), still inching toward my next weight loss goal. Patience is not one of my strong points.

Tammi - Gary was very efficient and got the paperwork to us very quickly.

Looks like I'll be meeting several of you in August, my time off was approved so I'll be making our reservation soon. I can't wait to meet more DDA'ers!

Wonderful designs, Debbie! And congrats on the August trip!

She's gained all of 11 pounds, Glynis!

Did you get to go to the game last night, Jen? :)

Today I discovered that my local Hallmark store has a Webkinz deal of the week...a full-sized Webkinz for only $7 starting every Monday until they sell out. This week's animal is a duck. I didn't buy it, but it sure is cute and fluffy.

All this talk of Webkinz - I may have to check it out! Don't know when I'd find time to play it, but a girl can dream! :rotfl:

hee hee...Matty certainly knows the way it goes...first lock the door and THEN play in the bathroom!!:lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But see the upside is that those hours would be peaceful. I don't sleep much more than 5 or so hours a night so I could sleep a bit before and then nap when Lucy naps and Mo is at school. And it wouldn't be every night. What I like about those hours is that I can still do stuff with the girls in the evening. It certainly would be an adjustment but I think it would not be as mentally exhausting. Baked goods are attitude free and speechless ;)

Robyn, if you think you can deal with the schedule, then I say go for it! You never know until you try. And baked goods sound like just the thing to deal with at that time of night. ;)

We had a new bishop appointed over our congregation, and he stood up and told us all how happy he was, and if there was ever anything anyone needed, he would be happy to help out. One of my neighbors kids started acting up, and his daddy got up to take him out, and the little boy screamed at the top of his lungs, "Bishop, help me!" I was impressed that the bishop left the podium, took the little boy from his father, and got the little boy calm!
That is too cute!

that (and all of the other church stories) is precious!!

Only one I have is Cassidy exclaiming "AMEN" loudly in our little church (think 50 people in worship) in the middle of a LONG prayer:rotfl2:

:sad2:

Elizabeth, I agree with Momboss. You shouldn't put your life on hold to potentially "rescue" your mom out of a situation, particularly when she keeps shunning your help. I say go, and enjoy yourself! If something happens that absolutely requires you to get to your mom, I'm confident the logistics wouldn't be too hard to coordinate.

Well Virginia had her 6 month check up today. She weighs 15lbs 11oz and is 26 inches long. She got 3 shots. She is in the 50th % on both height and weight. Robyn she eats 2 stage one jars of baby food a day and some cereal.

Heidi I have seen the Nugget thread. Their is also a designer that makes water bottle labels.

Great news!

Hi, Just stopping in for a fly by posting.

My morning started with stopping at Panera for bagels well actually two Panera's as the first had like no bagels left. Plus having the flowers spill water all over the floor of my car. It was for administrative assistant's day.

Tomorrow starts the wacky weekend. I have a to drop off registration forms, then head to a year end dinner Thursday night, Friday I have K-registration, then to camp until about 2pm Saturday when I will head to the baseball stadium for the overnight. Then Sunday I have a Gold Award ceremony to attend. Details are still being worked out about when I need to be where. My manager is trying to tell me not to stay overnight Friday night into Saturday. Umm, the volunteers want me there Friday night and Saturday morning. I am not driving 2+ hours home Friday night to turn around and drive 2+ hours back Saturday morning to be back by 9am. At $3.59 per gallon I am not driving almost 200 extra miles.

I am able to take my test on Monday, which I am very grateful for. Although Monday I could be attending my Great Uncle Alvin's funeral. He was found dead at the top of his stairs today. They think he was there since Monday or Tuesday. He lived by himself and my great aunt went to pick him up to take him to the doctor today and no one answered the door.

I am going to take a nap. I am tired and I know my weekend will wear me out. So I need to take advantage of the possibility of sleep. Even an hour or two will be helpful in the long run.

Hope everyone has been having a great week and has a great weekend.

Wow, Becky. Lots of   and energy for the coming days. I'm sorry to hear about your great uncle.

A very nice stranger came into my studio tonight to tell me that one of my tires was completely flat. As I was getting ready to change it a father of a student in a class I don't even teach came out and did it for me. Then myBob came downtown and followed me to our tire place.

Instead of going out to dinner with my Singers friends we came home and sat outside in the :sunny: and had a glass of wine. Now, it is barely dark and I am home, and done with everything. I could get so used to these shortened hours. Of course, our budget would probably be strained if I quit teaching at 6:30 every night! :rotfl:

What a nice man! Glad it was easily fixed!

Can you see the fireworks from the Grand Flordian Beach?

Thinking of doing the Character dinner at GF trying to decide what time to try for,. Was thinking of eating then walking down to the beach to watch the fireworks then the electric water parade.

What do you all think?

I still need to decide on a couple more meals

Arrive Sept 20 just do CS
Sept 21?
Sept 22 Tusker house 10ish
Sept 23 CP dinner 5pm MNSSHP
Sept 24 H & V 1115
Sept 25?
Sept 26 Norway at 1025
Sept 27 CRT 1005
Sept 28 :lovestruc Anniversary?
Sept 29 come home flight leaves at 1130

The way the GF beach is situated, it faces more towards the Poly, and not towards the MK. The best place to see the fireworks at the GF is right outside Gasparilla's Grill (their CS restaurant), at the GF marina. They have umbrella tables outside, and the music is generally piped in. You can also see the fireworks from the resort launch dock, and near Narcoossee's.

Any thoughts of where you'd like to eat on your anniversary? Will you take the girls, or look at child care?

Before we were allowed to take our driving tests my Dad insisted that we be able to change a tire and the oil in a vehicle. I can do both. I choose AAA for one and Walmart for the other usually. :rotfl2:

That's my kind of thinking! ;)

I learned many years ago, but there's a reason I have AAA and OnStar! :thumbsup2

Yes, I'm holding a ressie at SSR and May 6 is my booking day for all of my nights. I'll need 2 studios, one for the kids and myself and the other for my parents.

I've waitlisted for both BWV and AKV and they both came through. BWV was even in October.

That is good to know! I love SSR, but would like to try something different. If we go that route, I'd be giving up AKL CL, and it wouldn't "sting" so much if we got to stay at AKV.

Wouldn't that be fun? Would you all come? :upsidedow

I am a firm believer in trying everything. I think everyone should try everything once just to increase your knowledge base. Some things work out, others do not. So I'm sure that there are many things that I can't to, but it isn't for lack of trying ;)

We will have the girls as I am not planning on taking my pump, therefore no way to get milk for Virginia. Plus she gives Daddy a hard time as it is, not sure what she would do with a stranger. I looked at Le Cellier and Coral reefs menus but just not sure.

Although Monday I could be attending my Great Uncle Alvin's funeral.
Sorry about your Great Uncle.

I ought to be thinking about our Boston trip and what all we would like to accomplish while we are there. I am semi-motivated to do that tonight...

And Bernadette ... ;)

I think we will have no problem filling up 9 days very quickly!:)

Bernadette - Well, you weren't expecting me to call! :rotfl2: I kept the green bag, even though the blue and the pink were VERY nice. I also found another bag over in the luggage section that I ALMOST bought. It was more like a small carry-on - it had the thing on the back where you slide it over the luggage handle. They had the briefcase bag, too. :rolleyes1 I saw the "only bagg" on a website but Marshall's didn't have any. :confused3

My friend loves her "only bagg" so far-she used it walking out of the office tonight. It is a bit too big/confusing for me with the 3 compartments.

I haven't had a chance to try the new sneakers on Emma yet. Need to do that so I can return 3 pairs and the shirt, shorts and capris I bought myself today.

I did a load of wash when I got home and iron 4 pieces of fabric. One was 5 yards of white muslin to use as lining material for a few dresses and shirts. I got PJ pants cut out for Halley and finished the shorts for Lizzy.

I still have some towels in the dryer. Once they finish I need to go to bed. I've been so tired this week.

DS does deserve the trip, and so does DH. DH used every bit of his vacation time to go for 2 weeks in August. He hasn't had time off since last year, other than normal days off. And he ends up working half of his "Off" days! I think I might start sending Mom a WalMart gift card for $75 each month to offset the amount her SS check dropped when Diva Girl turned 16. She can use that for groceries/toiletries/etc. and I will feel like I am doing something.

Did you not like the things you bought for yourself? I hope you find some you like better!
Good luck with the sewing! Of course you are tired - you have too many projects going! :rotfl2:

Thanks, guys. I have already spoken with American about how to switch my flight if I have to leave from Disney, go to KC, then go home. If I leave in the middle and then go back to WDW I will still fly home with DH & DS. Having our ressie booked in 3 chunks instead of one big thing will be helpful, too. I guess I feel like "people" (not sure who those people would be  ) must think I am horrible for planning this trip when my mom is ill. My cousin and my aunt are all in complete agreement with Momboss and you all - my trip has nothing to do with my mom and I will absolutely leave WDW (or not go, or whatever) if my mom needs me there.

Seems like we could all use some PD lately, but if there is any to spare please send some my mom's way for her appt. with the OB/GYN today.

We are now officially in double digits!

Off to pack some lunch for DS!

I understand completely worrying about whether to take the trip. I think you have received great advice though, and are absolutely doing the right thing! You and your mom know you'll be there if she needs you, and that's all that matters. I hope it can be a relaxing trip for all 3 of you, and can help ease your mind a bit about things. You are doing everything you can!
