DH and I are celebrating our 1st anniversary on our trip this October, and we have signed up for the deluxe DDP. I've never been, and it's been a while since DH has gone. Give us some great recommendations to use our credits at and some suggestions on things we can't miss!!
One thing - we don't care for gourmet food or seafood, we are more steak and potato kind of people.
Thanks!

Well, if your not gourmet or seafood people that will pretty much nix many of the signature restaurants except Yachtsman. I guess for steak and potato people Le Cellier would be good, Concourse Steakhouse (are they still open?), Yachtsman (oh that is signature so 2 credits).
Artist Point has a great buffalo steak--but I don't know if you'd eat buffalo rather than beef (signature dining), Jiko (2TS) at AKL has a filet with mac and cheese overall it is a very gourmet restaurant though. most places have a beef entree on the menu, it isn't necessarily their specialty so YMMV as far as taste, etc.
On deluxe you'll have up to 3 credits per day so you will will have a good amount of choice available to you--you might want to start by looking at the menus on here or at allears.

I agree with the previous poster regarding Le Cellier and Yachstman. They both have great meat and potatoes.
I'd also like to add in that even though the Flying Fish at the Boardwalk has a menu with mostly fish, they have a great steak.
Don't miss out on some of the wonderful buffets too as most have stuff for meat and potato lovers and your basic fare.

First off, congratulations on both your marriage and your upcomming anniversary!! :bride: DH and I went to Disney World for our honeymoon, and he's taken me back to celebrate each anniversary. All 2 so far. ;) This year we're doing the Deluxe plan as well, so you and I can share stories of obsessive ADR-making and then obsessive post-DxDDP weight loss! :rotfl2:
Are you guys heavy eaters? Can you be when you want to? Because I'm discovering just how deliciously challenging it is to use up so many credits! There's no way we could do a breakfast, lunch and dinner, with appetizer, entree and dessert, 3 times a day. I get bloated just thinking about it. :snooty: Throw on the allotted schoolbread and dole whip (or whatever glorious snacks you choose) and you'd have to roll me back to the hotel! So, we're trying out several 2-credit signature restaurants, including Yachtsman's Steakhouse. It has a 24 ounce porterhouse that my husband dreams about at night. I've heard nothing but good things about the place! I'm excited just for the bread an butter!
Another easy suggestion is Le Cellier. I haven't been there yet, but it's a Dis legend. And I'm Canadian, so I have to support it. ;)
I know you said you're not into seafood, but Coral Reef has a fantastic NY strip and eating near the aquarium is a wonderful experience!
Mama Melrose's is one of our personal favourites. The flatbreads are sooo good, and they're happy to customise them. We always (at least twice a trip) get the 4 cheese flatbread, but we substitute the gorgonzola :scared: for pepperoni. I'd say that's a pretty fair statement to apply to the rest of the restaurants too; they'll most always be willing to make a subsitution for you, so never be afraid to ask.
On deluxe you'll have up to 3 credits per day so you will will have a good amount of choice available to you--you might want to start by looking at the menus on here or at allears.
I'm not sure if I'm misinterpreting how you meant this, Patsal, but it caught me up a bit and I just wanted to clarify something for the OP, incase anyone else read it the way I did. :flower3: You get 3 credits per night of your stay, but you're not limited to using just 3 a day. You can use them however you like, be that 5 one day and 2 the next, 1 each day then 10 on your last night, whatever. Or at least, that's what I've been led to believe, so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me!!

I think you've gotten some excellent suggestions on how to maximize the plan. I'd take the chance to eat at all of the Signature TS locations that you can fit in - almost all of them have a great steak selection.

I received a spreadsheet from another poster a few months back that outlined the best cost efficient restaurants on the meal plan...here is a list of the top ten..not in any particular order~
Chefs De France (dinner)
Coral Reef (dinner)..I know you said no seafood but it is listed
Le Cellier (dinner)
Marakesh (dinner)
Maya Grill (dinner)
San Angel (dinner)
Teppon Edo (lunch/dinner)
Tutto Italia (lunch/dinner)
Yak and Yeti (lunch/dinner)
Kona Cafe (dinner)
The worst restaurants economically on the meal plan are:
Sand Trap bar and grill (breakfast)
Kona Cafe (breakfast)
Spoodles (breakfast)
Whispering Canyon (breakfast)
Grand Floridian Cafe (breakfast/lunch)
Garden grill (lunch)

We are celebrating our 35th in December and I am going to take out the deluxe plan as well. Also our trip in May I have it. Citricos has great steak and is forgotten by a lot of people and is two credits. What I am doing is trying to do one signature a night or room service since in some cases depending our your room sitting on a balcony with a nice meal can be a great way to end the day and with room service the tip is included. Then for the other credit I am roatating between a breakfast or a lunch since we are staying concergie I want to be able to enjoy some of the benfits of the food.
Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary:banana:
