This is a warning...

Should anyone decide that it would be funny to post incorrect details of Free Dining on April 1 with or without links to websites containing no/false/irrelevant/already known information on Free Dining...

We will not be amused.

In upholding the democratic nature of our society, it will be the responsibility of the members here to impose one of the following penalties upon the perpetrator(s) of April Fool tomfoolery:

Have fun voting!

I AGREE!!!! I have decided that I will not believe ANY information that comes across the boards tomorrow!;) I voted handcuffing offenders to IASW, but I really think they should not be allowed to eat on Disney Property on their next trip!:rotfl:

but what if there really is an announcement???

One of the MODS would post it and we would know it was legit.

I'm slightly surprised (maybe) by the results so far...

14 votes and no mercy.

Just goes to show, don't mess with Free Dining addicts!

I'm not surprised, however, by "Small World" leading the results (even though I voted for "Bambi" myself) - I liked the "no eating on Disney property" suggestion too!

Well, at 20 votes we have me proven wrong - one merciful Disser!

I am wondering how many trolls we will get tomorrow posting fake posts. Especailly since the free dining dates have not yet been leaked/confirmed. I see Universal is offering free dining this year, wonder if their dates will line up at all with Disney's? I'm not going this year but you would think I was with all the checking I am doing! LOL

No trolls from what I can see - yet - it's early.

We don't do much April Fools stuff around our house anyway - not for lack of desire - but it's our son's birthday, and it would just seem wrong to overshadow his day by focusing on the "April Fool" element.

RE: Universal's promo - I'm seriously hoping that this will be a positive effect on Disney's offer. While there are far more restrictions imposed by Universal - i.e., only two people per room get it for free and anyone else HAS to buy the plan - their plan also says UNLIMITED food and beverages at a number of their restaurants (although not all from what I can tell). Further, their stay dates are extremely long - Aug. 17 to Oct. 9 - I'm really hoping that Disney will take that into account - and while I doubt that a Public Free Dining will extend into October - here's hoping that it starts the weekend of the 17th!

I would hope nobody would do that... what threw me off one year was that the Visa memebers offer... 2 years ago I believe ... started on 4/1 so I thought it was a joke... luckily I am not a Disney Visa member so I knew it wasn't by the time gen pub dates hit...

Tied to It's a Small World for the duration of your trip. Sounds like fun, eh, Tiggeroo! ;)

I swear I'm not kidding. I hope somebody believes me. But if nobody does I guess the rooms will still be there.

I think you were telling the truth. I think a CM played an april fools on you, right at closing, then ran home to get on here and laughed there heads off. Do you think they could be that cruel? What should we do to them playing this awful joke on poor Tiggeroo?:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was serous. This is what I was told. Like I said, he said it was available now with card. I asked about non card, he said he had to check with CS mgr, put me on hold for a really long time (much longer then i waited to talk to him) and came back saying that will be available Sun. or Mon. I was told not to book my trip yet. It didn't sound like he was joking. I was sitting here typing in the report as I was on hold with him. I'm sorry if I was wrong but in case I'd call back more then once to see if a different CM tells you something different.

Free dining looking more likely - Disney Visa offer to start on April 7
All signs continue to point to Disney's free dining offer beginning to the general public on April 10. We expect Disney Visa cardholders to get their free dining offer a few days earlier, on April 7.

For the record, I agree with you, wdwmaw. I think poor Tiggeroo was played, or maybe the CM was just being a little overzealous. Either way, I will no longer be standing at the doorway of It's a Small World with my handcuffs. ;)

:hippie: Peace to you, Tiggeroo! :goodvibes

Yup, no actual perps - nobody gets handcuffed to IASW, and I still get shivers just thinking about being subjected to such an ordeal.

What I am curious about, however, is that we had 5 votes for other - and I said "be creative" - yet we don't have details of those other consequences - except perhaps from the person who said "not allowed to eat anywhere onsite" - but they admitted to voting for one of the set penalties, so... well... I don't know.

Anyway, if anyone wishes to come back and let us know what your "other" thought was, we'd be happy to hear them (at least I would), as perhaps it could give us another laugh as we slowly go crazy waiting for the official details to be released.

Thanks for voting everyone!
