Hello! Welcome! This is a pre-trip report, following the trip plans for these 2:
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s97/nlaskin/disney%20christmas/IMG_3313-1.jpg
Take a look at the last row, allll the way to the right, see those 2 very awesome people?? Well thats us! Ok ok, here's a better picture:
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s97/nlaskin/disney%20christmas/IMG_3420.jpg
Thats better, right? I'm on the right, and little brother David is on the left!
That picture is from when I took David to Disney in December 2007 for a few days. It was a great trip! David always gets a kick out of doing stuff just the two of us without our parents (even when we were younger and would go to malls, he would be itching to leave them and go walk around) So we took a small 5 day trip and stayed at POFQ (Don't worry, we only live a 3 hour drive to disney) This was the first time David and I had been alone and we had a BLAST!! I learned that he is my favorite person to take to Disney!
Even though we live in Florida, Its like a gifted curse to be so close yet so far! It's not like we can go all the time, but we do try and make it out a few times a year...and when we do go, we do it right! That December trip turned out to be my favorite trip! Yes it was short, but David is the best disney companion I could ask for! He's a teenager in every sense of the word. (Read: south park, always out with friends, girls who are never good enough for my brother IMO, video games....and not doing homework. Quintissential teen!) but he acts like a KID at Disney and I can even get him to wear mouse ears....sometimes! He actually loves the characters, and can get really enthusiastic about the little things which puts a smile on his face (I mean what 15 year old would not only agree to wear mouse ears but then ask "CAN I GET THEM ENGRAVED WITH MY NAME??" (by the way, i said of course) He gets excited about planning and choosing where to eat and things like that, but not as excited as me of course. And this brings me to a little short description of the characters:
Nicole (21): College Student...OCDP. You have heard the expression used before, and I fit the bill to a T! Obsessive Compulsive Disney Planner!! Currently i'm shipwrecked in NYC, but my voyage to return home to FL is in May! I can't wait, because I feel like thats when I can start getting everything back on track. Weight Loss and of course Disney Planning!!
David (16): David is a very normal teenager, I haven't seen him in a while, but when I talk to him he's usually at his friends house or rocking on guitar hero or rock band! He is so very grateful that we get to go to Disney World and he looks forward to it as much as I do!
After that trip, I moved here to NYC for school. As it turned out in the end, I got accepted to a much better program back in FL, and the financial difference is MONUMENTAL. So what goes better with moving back to FL? Disney! It's like PB&J, right??
Moving right along to the juicy details, we are all booked, and most ADRs are made!! But heres the catch people! SHHHHH part of this trip David doesn't even know about! (nor will he before we get there!) The trip is going a little something like this:
August 2nd-4th: Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios:
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s97/nlaskin/septtrip/hardrockexterior.jpg
David loves rock music, and a couple of you might remember me from my september TR in which I went to the hard rock and loved it! I knew this would be a smart idea from the get go!
August 4th-11th: Animal Kingdom Lodge with Dining:
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/54/124295643_0f9ad14512.jpg
Borrowed from flickr (http://flickr.com/photos/sbam/124295643/).
Very excited about this!! As most of you know, the original plans were a split Pop/BC stay, but circumstances occurred and we changed to AKL!! David doesn't know about this, he thinks we are staying at Pop for only a few nights, I will spill the beans with help from MeMom, the day we arrive! It's such a beautiful resort and I can't wait to stay there! I also can't wait for David to experience the DDP!
So lets jump to the ADRs that I have so far! I couldn't believe I was able to secure everything I wanted except for the exact date I planned for Le Cellier, but the fact that I got it in the first place is exciting!!
Confirmed ADRs
August 4th - Le Cellier
August 5th - Kona Cafe
August 6th - Crystal Palace (Breakfast at 8:10! perfect for a MK opening!)
August 7th - Suggestions?? (we will be at a waterpark morning and DHS night)
August 8th - Boma
August 9th - Cape May Cafe (latest possible breakfast, and beach club check in day!)
August 10th - Whispering Canyon Cafe
August 11th - Coral Reef
I got nothing for the 12th and the 13th, any "must-do" restaurants you can think of??
Thats all for now, but coming up in the TR follow along in the plans, and I will post a mini-TR for my spring break weekend trip with my friend Charlie!

After reading your last TR, I want to eat lunch at Beaches and Cream one day. Yum!

Beaches and Cream was awesome! David already stated he wanted to eat there! It was seriously so good for the drinks alone

I pick A! I kept hoping Jill would surprise me on our last trip and say we could stay another few days. Alas, no such luck. Very sad. I say pack it all up and say your goodbyes and then throw him for a loop by saying you're staying. He will love it!
Moving again? You are the movingest girl I know! Or don't know, really, but you know what I mean.
Hey - you'll be there the same time as declansdad and pooksma. You guys need to arrange to meet for a Dis picture!
No shame in having Disney stuff around the homefront. I've got the Mickey totem pole and the big throw from Wilderness Lodge in my kitchen. I have a back room, sort of a big closet/junk room, that is full of Disney stuff. I even have the Mickey Mouse TV back there - the one that has the cute black ears and yellow feet. It's quite cute.
I'm glad I have Brooklynn around now, because I can sneak in all my Disney-kid wishes and say it's because of her. Of course, I'm fooling no one. They all know I'd have it even if there was no baby in sight!

I like A as well, but when?? and how should we get to the Beach Club? I have time to think, but i want this to be so perfect!
I commented in declansdad and pooksma's TR about the fact that not only will we be there at the same but eating at 2 of the same restaurants!

I've got kids in the room working on Science make-up work, so I can't think right now. Don't they know this is supposed to be my Dis time?!?!
I think the goodbye surprise would be awesome. I'm sure lots of people will have good ideas. Are you sure you can keep the surprise and not slip? I'd be afraid to trust myself. I'd probably mess it up. I'm assuming he doesn't read any of these Dis trip reports. You don't want to get caught.
If you all meet up, maybe you could ride Soarin' for me and take a picture holding up a sign that says This one's for you, MeMom!
Oooh, I would be so jealous, 'cause I'll be back at the start of a new school year. I'll be bogged down with a ton of paperwork with the next Disney trip all the way in November. I'll need some help, and seeing you guys and hearing about your fun will sure help!!!

Well if we meet up we will just have to do that for you MeMom! ;) They first have to respond to my reply! :rotfl:
I'm too excited about the surprise to slip, and no he doesn't read the DIS, but maybe after the reveal, i can tell him about the TR and he may want to help! That would be cool, right? I'm heading out to class soon, I wish you were my teacher! Than there would just be an understanding of DIS time!

I vote for "A" as well. He'll be jazzed that you are staying at the Beach Club (and having breakfast at Cape May -- one of our favorites too!).. AND staying at WDW a few more days. Double yay!  ...AND you can get it all on tape! ...AND you'll have all of your stuff packed, no time wasted on going back to pick everything up, etc. With the August heat, having the time in the pool will be much better time spent.
Wish you were my sister! ;)
Have fun!

Thanks for stopping by! The only problem with "A" is that I want to eat breakfast at Cape May Cafe before he finds out we're staying here, I'll think of something! I have to get it on tape, so I can post it in my TR!

OMgoodness, how darn CUTE are those cards????!!! :cutie: I am in for the long haul too, can't wait to read more!! :surfweb:
(I'll be living vicariously through you too, as our next trip to WDW is not in the foreseeable future. :sad1: We have a MA vacation planned for July :cheer2: and then a series of home renovations and braces for 2 children to pay for. :scared: Spring 2010 is maybe a possibility for FL, but that is yet to be determined). :confused3
Ah, to be young and have disposable income again! Enjoy! :goodvibes

here are the updated itinerary cards! The ones I used for december look like these! Here's the sample from December:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/icard4.jpg
Every card for the day we were there had the same port orleans themed heading just different detailed itinerary!
I like the way these looked, so I stuck with the idea but changed it to match august!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/icard3.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/icard2.jpg
I didn't like the real Beach Club logo because to me, it didn't match up what I feel is the beach club's style...? So i made my own:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/icard1.jpg
so what do you guys think? I'll post the updates as they are filled in!

Yes, absolutely! I traveled quite a bit before I got married (lived in NYC for a while too!) and then moved back to the section of the country that I grew up in. I started being a real grownup :rotfl: around age 26. :lmao: Okay, well, considering I love WDW so much, it could be argued that I am still not fully a grownup, but you know what I mean. :sad2:
If it were up to me, we'd be back at WDW this year, but I guess we should visit DH homestate once in a while. It has been 5 years. His family doesn't actually live there anymore, so you wouldn't think it would matter, but it does. We will be on a beach, so it should be pretty wonderful too! Having planned WDW trips in the past, I am now planning our MA vaca .... and going at it just like a WDW trip ... just short of ADR's. DH thinks I'm nuts. But hey, I can't NOT! It's in my blood now! :woohoo: Thankfully, I have scheduled in "Lay on the beach; build sand castles (don't forget sunscreen and huge umbrella" days too). :cool1:
Most definitely have fun while you are young! In addition to travel, I bought ART. Braces trump buying art nowadays, so I am sure glad I bought it years ago!
LOVE the cards!

a few people have asked me about my trip with charlie that i took over spring break, so i figured i'd start it now! I'm kind of bored, even though its real late (the rain in ny today made me so sleepy and I took what i like to call a disney nap! i shut the lights off and the blinds and thought about disney) so lets begin!
some of you already remember last year when charlie and I did our "one day adventure" we had known eachother all of about 3-4 weeks, but what binded us immediately was our love for disney. Now i consider charlie on of my closest friends! when he heard i was coming home for spring break, he surprised me with a trip! the final details were worked out and we were pop century bound for 2 nights!
charlie works for a company that required him to travel all over florida, and he had to drive that day to orlando, so we figured it would be perfect to stop. charlie was actually against staying there at all but i convinced him by reminding him how last year, we had to pull over at every rest stop so we could sleep for an hour, it took forever to get home!
there are great things about going to disney with charlie (hes funny, he loves disney and doesnt like to hide it) and some not so great things (he runs around the parks like a chicken without a head, and speaking of heads? his turns his at every beautiful girl, and feels the need to comment on them, there was ONE girl he was literally obsessed with for the entire day, trying to find her, it was really annoying!) but even still, you can't help but like him :)
After a bunch of delays (we were supposed to arrive at 2 but didn't get there until 4) we arrived at Pop! Charlie was literally on a conference call for 2 hours, through the check in process and the first 20 minutes we were at the park!
I encountered an issue with checking in, I had called the day before to pay off the trip, but when we arrived it was still showing a balance. The manager wouldn't even come over and offer assistance, he shrugged off the guy checking me in, so i had no choice but to fork the card over. Luckily, 2 days after I came back, i saw there was a refund from Disney.
We payed preferred (only thing available) and were originally given a building. I spoke up and asked if there was anything in the 60s and this was the first time I had checked into a Disney hotel and got my request! The weekend of spring break! Should I remind everyone I was at disney last year in september? the slowest time of year? Pop was definitely good to us!

Okay guys I thought of a way to pull off the surprise!
I was thinking of delaying check in until way after breakfast. Go for the breakfast, than go back to Pop, and before we get in the car, turn on the camera and go "Well I guess we should go check in now!"
The breakfast is at 10:50 (which I can make a little earlier) and i would want to be checking into the Beach Club by 1pm, what do you think?
The reason for this idea is because I want the full "check in to a deluxe resort" experience...you know, being welcomed home, art the greeter (if hes there) and I think David would really appreciate these little things as well, so I want him to know we are checking in once we get to the Beach Club..
when I reveal the surprise though, I may keep the resort a secret, I honestly don't think he would guess it, I think his first guess would be the WL (because he knows how much I love it) or the AKL (because he knows i really want to stay there) So when we pull up to the Beach Club, i'll figure out how to place the camera on the dashboard to get his reaction!

not in the afternoon, i figured we can mini golf (david loves mini golf) and check out SAB.....
I think i've decided to surprise him before we go to breakfast so we can get there and check in already, and already be over there with the car parked and everything ready to go.

That would be the best one I would think, less running around and he will still be surprised. :woohoo:

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be keeping a watch on your pre-trip, maybe as we get closer we can do a DIS meet. What time is your ADR at Boma and Whispering Canyon?
Boma is at 7:30 and WC is at 7:20.
I like your itinerary cards. I did ours on a spreadsheet.

Okay, now that you know where you're going to meet, here's the picture I want to see: You guys can all get your picture made on the wooden horses at Whispering Canyon!
That's if you're in a wild and crazy mood that night. Of course declansdad may by so stuffed with that good food that he won't be up for a horsie ride. In that case, just a normal picture would do.
But really, you guys can't be that close and not meet. That set up is perfect, and you didn't even plan it, so it's meant to be!
I will be wishing I was there!
Maybe I'll serve heaps of food on big pewter platters that night, and we'll pretend we're there with you.
Or you can call us and we'll join you by phone!

Charlie eventually got off his conference call, and we decided to head on to Mission Space. I really didn't want to go on this ride, but I already told him I would when we were in the car and he wasn't letting up. The line was about an hour :scared1: this girl is not used to lines!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak081.jpg
Charlie pointed out something very cool when we got inside! the giant wheel has the horizons symbol in the center of it! See? i told you charlie was into this stuff! for those that don't know, Epcot used to use symbols for their different pavillions, they went like this:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/pavilionlogos-1.jpg
here is mission:space
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak082.jpg
since mission: space overtook horizons it was nice for the imagineers to leave a little "hidden mickey" of sorts! (but im sure most of you disers knew that! :lmao: )
I actually survived and lived to tell that I liked it! I get nauseous on star tours and can't ride it so i assumed i wouldn't be able to do this, but I can!
After this, we decided to go on spaceship earth, the line was about 20 minutes but we waited it out and enjoyed a nice relaxing ride! i love how they plan your future!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak084.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak083.jpg
I wanted to go to beaches and cream for dinner and because i went on mission space the deal was I got to pick dinner, but at this point it was already close to 9pm and i knew we wouldn't really have time. Now David, for example would have loved to break free of the park and just relax but like i said charlie likes to run from attraction to attraction, he doesn't see disney as a vacation, and i do, no matter how long i'm there.
So we decided on electric umbrella. I got the new chicken nuggets, which i didn't like because i was expecting nuggets but really theyre just smaller chicken fingers and honestly, i'm not a fan :rolleyes1
EMH had started so we got our bracelets, ad headed over to figment, charlie's obsession. Of course this was walk-on, and Charlie spent a good amount of time in the gift shop picking out exactly what he wanted. he also liked to play:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak085.jpg
Me on the other hand, went outside to catch a glimpse of illuminations.
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak086.jpg
Now it was time for the world showcase! Charlie made a mask in Canada to look like The Joker from Batman and we carried it around the countries having a blast getting it signed!

the finished product:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak0811.jpg
When we reached Norway, we got to ride all by ourselves!
The last 2 rides of the night were test track and soarin, test track we waited for about 40 minutes (yes at EMH! i dont know if i'd ever go during spring break again lol) but this would be the start of our "make funny faces at the ride camera" plan!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/springbreak0810.jpg
Our last ride of the evening was Soarin, and we waited about 25 minutes even though the park was already closed at this point :confused3
I just love Soarin, charlie can take it or leave it, but he knows how much I like it, so we went!
On the way out, we were mesmerized by the sparkly floor and than waited no more than 5 minutes for our pop century bus back home!

I'll mark it on my calendar. Tell me the exact night again. I will be in deep depression from a full day's worth of a new school year, so it'll bring much happiness to my evening to picture you guys down there in the beautiful Wilderness Lodge! I would love to be there with you all!
You can call me at 1-800-IMJEALOUS!!!
I will PM you and give you my cell phone number, and you guys can call me and let me listen to the background noise of Wilderness Lodge and Whispering Canyon.
There could be sniffles on my end of the line.
Trent has a camera phone, so if any of you guys do, too, you could send us a picture. Then we can take a picture of the phone picture, and we'll post it on the Dis for all of our friends to see what a great time you are having. I'm going to great lengths to be there at this meet in whatever way I can!
You and I might meet up sometime, since you're going to be going more frequently (and I spend every dime I earn to get us down there as often as possible), but it's those Canadian far-away friends that might be harder to hook up with. After this trip, though, they'll owe Declan another family trip, so I'm sure they'll be in the planning stages of that as they are on the plane going home in August!

My brother and I did that very relaxing trip for christmas....it was a mutual agreement of we'll go on as many rides as we can and not run from ride to ride, and it was such a great trip because we got to do so many different things by not just running from attraction to attraction

I went the disney store today on 5th avenue (excuse me, "World of Disney") this one is the only other store owned by disney besides the one in DD..for those not familiar, its 4 floors, but I think (maybe scott can share his opinion?) the one in DD has more merchandise.
Nothing purchased, I did have a couple of returns, and had a question, but the CM i dealt with woke up on the wrong side of the bridge this morning, because she had somewhat of an attitude :confused3 Let it be said though, that most of the CMs i interact with here, are just like the ones in Disney, pins and all! I almost bought a pin here just so I could trade with a CM but decided not to. I just ordered a bulk amount of pins from eBay for the august trip!
This WOD has some character interaction as well! The other day I was there, I met Jack Sparrow!! Yeah! Today, I met baloo! By the way, these characters are great at interaction because nobody else is around especially on a Thursday! So I had baloo all to myself, and even struck up a conversation with Jack!
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s97/nlaskin/Picture1-2.png
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s97/nlaskin/Picture2-2.png
After seeing these picture, and the ones i took with Jack I realized I gained back all of the weight I had lost last year, and so when I go home in May I'm going back to dieting and excersizing! I want to not be afraid to take pictures of myself like I was when I went in September! Honestly, i felt so much better about myself, my strength was up etc.
All in all, I had a good day, I'm only that much closer to the trip and going home in May!
ETA: I forgot to mention, while waiting for baloo I spoke with a CM who used to work at AK Guest Relations and they are building a paper tree of life for the 10th anniversary and i got to put my name on it! I hope its up during august!

At least you get to have a little Disney fix up there in NY, far away from Disney. Trent says he's going to take me to NY at Christmas one of these days, and you can be sure (if that ever really happens) we will be visiting the World of Disney!
The drawback, though, is that he says you have to use a subway up there, and subway + claustrophobic = it'll probably never happen!

If you don't take the subways during rush hour they aren't the least bit crowded -- empty is more like it! You can always take a cab too, or walk! If you stay in a central area, i bet you most places you want to go to are walking distance away! C'mon the MeMom I know has walked an entire "Kingdom" before! Charlie and I had great success last time with the whole "AK morning" "Mk evening" plan, so we decided to do it again, and thankfully it worked! I spent the entire time at animal kingdom to convince him to chill out and relax at the resort, but he just didn't get it :confused3 once again the whole "charlie doesn't see it as a vacation" thing comes into play but we still had a fun time!
Unfortunately, I don't remember all the details, but since this is a mini tr, we'll just check out the highlights shall we? We made it there just a teensy bit after opening, and headed straight for....you guess it everest! Grabbed fast passes and got on the 10 minute standby line! you gotta love everest...some photopass fun!

We got off and ran around the line for a second time and rode it again! the wait was a tad longer this time, but not too bad!
next was dinosaur, charlie was upset we couldn't get fast passes but there was no line so we just hopped on. this is one of my favorite rides i just love it!! THis is my favorite ride photo! Charlie actually put his head in his shirt to hide!!

We cashed in our fast passes for everest and rode for our third time! I forgot to mention that we asked for front row and charlie taped it the time before this, and he was so excited to just enjoy it! I love the front row!
We decided to leave after that, Watching a bugs life before we left!

We waited a little while for the POP bus, but the buses never concern me, I still feel so completely excited to be staying at a disney hotel in general, i guess growing up I always wanted to...so little things like bus waits don't bother me. This was the longest wait for all you future pop-goers and it was only maybe 10-20 minutes.
I wanted to go to the gift shop so i could make some puchases! the pop gift shop had things that the parks didn't like the shirt you can sort of see me wearing in the baloo picture (its under the sweatshirt) its green, i love it :lovestruc

Ever since i told charlie about the spooky legendary years he's wanted to check it out, so we walked over there...you really get a perspective for pop when you walk around...its actually a very cute hotel! It's why I decided to stay there again in august. But i'm going back and forth between going with what you know, or trying something new! :confused3 after playing around, we headed out to the magic kingdom for the worst crowd experience ever, charlies female obsession (which ill explain in one sentence no need to drag that out like it was dragged out on my night) and EMH until 3am!

I don't go to the city often, but I took a week long class at 52 broadway (all the way down there!) and had to figure out how to get there from Penn (we took the 605 train out of ronkonkoma every morning for a wee. I just used hopstop and google maps (it locates stops for you too) and took the 1 down to rector street. Who knew?! Thank goodness for that site! :worship:

Thats one of my favorite things about this city, the WOD store!! Yes i love EE too, I need to convince David to go on it with me, I think he actually might, I have a feeling! The same feeling I got when we went last time and he conquered Space Mountain!

The CM messed up my Jack picture because you know how you come out of the friendship room on the top floor and they have the photopass kiosk? Well I was gonna buy it, and the CM was messing with the photos and put borders on them and then when i came home to look at them the originals were gone and only the bordered ones were there!
It is such a bad picture of me too, but here ya go:

Hi Nicole!
I am soooo excited to see that our trips this year overlap! :) We'll be at OKW from July 29 to 31, then transfer to the Omni Orlando until the 4th of August! (I have a company sponsored conference there) Make sure you have your LGMH's on your backpack :thumbsup2
Btw, I vote for "A". That's an awesome surprise for your brother. I wish my kids will love Disney as much you do, and love each other enough to do a "Sam and Jake only" trip when they grow up. :thumbsup2

So I took MeMom's advice, and decided to try something new, in terms of a value hotel. After speaking with David, we both agreed on All Star Movies! I was getting pretty excited now, that food court looks so cute! And the Toy Story section? Right up our alley! So I would call and book a preferred room and we would be all set! If we didn't like it, (why wouldn't we, seriously?) than we would just know for the future! Yay!
Sold Out.
and now i'm upset! But in a way I sort of like when decisions are out of my hands, and I really liked POP! I can always try an All-Star in the future, right? :rotfl: I would stay at ASMu but David doesn't want to because we'll be at the Hard Rock before it -- and honestly, any hotel by comparison to that hotel looks awful!
I also added some new ADR's including dinner at Chef Mickey's which we have never done before! I changed around the card templates, so i'll have to share soon!

So we're on line for the Magic Kingdom bus and Charlie spots a girl he thinks is cute, well my one sentence explanation of this ordeal was that we kept seeing her over and over that night and he wouldn't stop talking about her. Okay, done, lets go on to the stuff that is more interesting than charlie's lost loves lol.
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/sbday22.jpg
When we walked on Main Street, there were characters everywhere! I wasn't used to getting to the MK in the middle of the day, so I was surprised. Charlie went "look its mary poppins!" and I went ha ha very funny because he had done that already twice this trip, but she was there for real! So was Burt! I was so ecstatic!! Charlie went to take a picture with jiminy cricket and I took a picture with Mary and Burt! :lovestruc
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/sbday21.jpg
We couldn't get those Dole Floats fast enough, and yes charlie got 2 because he absolutely loves them! I got one, and than we walked to splash mountain to get fast passes
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/sbday23.jpg
This was the first time i really saw the true meaning of spring break! you couldn't even walk! :scared1:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/sbday25.jpg]
We went on a 40 minute (really 30 minute) haunted mansion line!
This day was all about running from ride to ride which I wasn't too happy about it, because now I can't recall most of the details..but I will throw some things in here, plus its just a "mini" tr right? the details are mini and so are the pics! :rotfl:
When we got on Splash Mountain, we sat up front, and charlie spoke with the people in the boat in spanish who were saying they were scared to get wet. They were really nice and gave us 2 FP for SM for later!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/sbday27.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/dasdada.jpg
After that we waited on a 50 minute BTMR line and by the time we got at the ride I had enough. This queue is boring, and I had this little girl hitting me throughout the entire line! At one point i got so frustrated from the heat and the little girl I yelled at Charlie to switch with me, so he was in back of me, poor charlie had no idea why, but I had enough! :rotfl:
We ate dinner at our tradition, which is Pecos Bills..I had a burger like I usually do, but when I saw Charlie's BBQ sandwich I knew i had to get that next time!
We headed into fanasyland and tried our luck. We got on Philharmagic and Snow White, but the others would have to wait until after EMH, we grabbed 2 FP for Pooh because PP was out, and went to see Wishes.
Charlie went to go grab dole whips for us, and poor charlie had such a struggle to get back to main street through the crowds!
Wishes was magical as always, its charlie's favorite fireworks show...mine is illuminations, but you just can't get enough of Wishes!

More ideas for the Beach Club reveal!
2 years ago when I went to disney with my family, it was David's bithday (and my moms) So i surprised them both with baskets from sarah (now betsy) (http://www.memoriesbybetsy.com) this was such a great idea, they were so excited and it was worth every penny!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/davidbasket.jpg
i thought maybe i can get david a beach club themed basket and have it somehow play a part in the surprise? but how can I do it? its going to be tough to sneak a basket in the room and hide it somewhere until the day we move! But i would love to present david with a hat or a pin or somehing to help with the surprise! So does anyone know if they sell Beach Club themed merchandise anywhere else besides the beach club? Id love to get him the hat, shown here:

Very sweet brother-sister picture. You look like two pretty decent kiddos!
I love to look back at pictures of my kids and just remember the whole event that was taking place - sights, sounds, and silly things that were being done and said. We've had our share of trauma, but through it all, there have been those smiling faces to make all the pain go away.
Some day you'll be looking at a picture like that of your own kids, and then you'll really realize how special you and David are to your parents. I love seeing Jill with Brooklynn, as they grow into that special parent-child bond, knowing she now can understand the love I have always had for her.
I get to see them this weekend. John's going to try to patch a hole in my awning that a squirrel is using to get into my attic. (I need the squirrel to go find another resort other than my attic!) When I talked to Jill on the phone yesterday, she and Brooklynn were driving home from work. Brooklynn was in the back seat looking out the window and saying 'winnow' over and over. Just hearing her little voice brings me happiness. Even if I don't see them for just two weeks, she changes so much - getting more cognizant and verbal every day.
Thanks for sharing that picture of you and David. You were fortunate to have been brought up enjoying Disney with each other, and you're blessed to be able to continue that together as adults.

Sorry its been a few days! Whats going on everyone? I got my date to go home and I cant wait! It's may 12th!! And guess what else I got!!
http://www.freeplaystation3.net/images/playstation-3-box.jpg
I'm so excited!! Ive wanted one for a while and I was planning on selling my Wii because I have one at home, and this guy was trying to sell his PS3 for a wii...well long story short, I paid him a litle bit extra and got myself a sealed Playstation 3!!! This is where the sneakiness came in...I knew I had to ship it home and being the starving college student I am...I took the sealed PS3 over to best buy...told them I had recieved it as a gift and wanted store credit...I then took my store credit over to bestbuy.com and ordered it online and shipped it home! I know, I know its sneaky, but a broke girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!!
So hows everyone making out with free dining?? I was kind of hoping that someone out there with a preferred pop century room would be switching there dates but so far no luck :rolleyes1 I know when we're at pop century its going to be busy as all hell, but I hope that by the time we hit the beach club we're a little closer to free dining and therefore maybe it will be less crowded because people decided to wait?? what do you think??

Here are the pictures of the what the itinerary cards look like at this point. For those inerested, what I do is I make them as individual slides in a PowerPoint-Like program called Keynote:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/KEYNOTEPIC.jpg
that way if i decide to print them, I can print them in a notecard size and take them to the park! So here is the first one, the main one. Its a quick overview of everything, so that way If i need to make some changes I can visually see the impact (i'm a visual learner) it makes it easier than changing it on the cards because than I can see the rest of the week too!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/MAINIC.jpg
Next up, we have the card design for the Hard Rock stay when we will be at Universal!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/HRHIC.jpg
Next we have our stay at Pop:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/POPIC.jpg
As you can see by now, the cards theme is just based on the hotel, but then info is what we're doing that day ;)
And lastly, we have the Beach Club:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/BCIC.jpg
Of course this Keynote file is FMEO (for my eyes only) but I have a seperate one that omits all the Beach Club info because David likes to have a copy of this on his computer too, so I sent him a decoy! :rotfl:

More mini trip report! Lets finish where we started: MK EMH! until 3AM! :scared1:
After wishes we decided to split up because I really wanted to see Spectro Magic and charlie didn't...i walked in the main street shop and bought a few things for my moms car and a surprise pin set so I could trade with a CM..when I walked Main street was still deserted so I plopped down next to a family and waited for spectro to start! Can i just say that i love charlie to death, i mean he's one of my best friends, but i really enjoyed the alone time :rotfl: it made me wonder about the possibilities if i could have broken away from my cousins in sept 07...and contemplate a solo trip! the only person (and i'm being honest) that i dont think id need a break from is david! but anyway, i got some pretty good shots of spectro! here we are tonight, a symphony of spectro magic...

After the show I caught up with charlie who told me he went to swiss family tree house and got some cool pictures from the top...now that we were back together we talked game plan. we walked over to fantasyland and went on phillharmagic before scoring the only fast passes left which were for pooh, so now we had fast passes for space mountain, splash mountain, and pooh! so whats left to do but ride them?
We went on splash for the second time and had the ride to ourselves! charlies funny photopass picture he says is of him looking angry because it was cold...i thought he was looking at his watch to fake that he was bored and the drop meant nothing! either way its funny!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/mkemh5.jpg
we went to fantasyland standing on the 30 minute peter pan ride and than not waiting on any other ride there (doesn't that just amaze you!)
walked over to toontown and went through all the different houses. we were there so late we actually saw them shut down toontown.
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/mkemh11.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/mkemh1.jpg
we found this hidden path near the train to walk back to tomorrowland and went on a ride i had never been on which was the astro orbiter!!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/mkemh2.jpg
okay never again!! not only did they try and squish us into one rocket (not fun at all) but it went waay too fast! i thought it would be a nice slow calm ride like dumbo! its not
Since space mountain was still shut down for some reason, we walked through the castle and back into fantasyland where we used our pooh FP and got to ride some other no-line attractions like small world
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/mkemh3.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/springbreakdisney/mkemh4.jpg
Back over to tomorrowland, space mountain was finally open!! Yay! We had to wait on a line that was about 20 minutes but boy was charlie excited to be on his favorite ride!
We than took some castle picures, and about 2:45 we headed to the buses! what a long day!

So today I had some free time and decided to do something I like to call "Tracking Down Disney"
I have to give props to MeMom, because without all of her awesome Not So Disney Days, I wouldn't have thought of this!
What is Tracking Down Disney? Well, as you know I live in NYC, and of course there are Hidden Disneys all over the place! My final destination this afternoon would be to go to the WOD store, but where else can we feel the magic around this big city?
Lets start with Times Square! There are so many Hidden Disneys in Times Square. As a resident of new york city, you get nearly banished for going to such a touristy place, so lets just keep this between me and you!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril1.jpg
I really wanted to see this show and I should have while I had the chance!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril2.jpg
Can you feel the love tonight?
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril6.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril4.jpg
Wish I was on the boardwalk!
Couldn't resist taking a picture, not a Hidden Disney, but a hidden universal?
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril5.jpg
I finally reach my destination!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril16.jpg
I passed by this on my way around and ended up buying some Moon Sand! In the store it was a lot easier to stick together, but it was worth the $6!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril17.jpg
Anyone up for a game of Candyland?
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril13.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril14.jpg
The barbie dreamhouse was calling my name, and look who I found inside!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril18.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril19.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril20.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril21.jpg
Enough of this girly stuff, gimme pirates or gimme death!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril11.jpg
It was Lego Land alright, but it wasn't downtown disney :confused3
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril10.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril22.jpg
And I couldn't leave without playing with my new toy!

Where better to find Hidden Disney's than in Disney itself? The fifth avenue World of Disney store!
Lets get out of the subway station and what do we see? A beautiful budding tree!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril26.jpg
Make another left and what do we see? A beautiful "buddying" store!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril27.jpg
Ah, comfort :cloud9:
My camera was actually about to die as I walked around the store, but I had my iPhone, my savios! Hooray!
Welcome to my store! Would you like to take off your coat? you're more than welcome if you carry it yourself, do I look like a coat rack?
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril28.jpg
Be careful as you make your way to the back of the first floor, i've heard little princesses can be quite rambunctious when faced with excitement!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril29.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril30.jpg
Folow me and we'll carry on to the second floor up the maaagiiicaaal escalator everyone: ooohhhhh
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril31.jpg
A castmember awaits us and so does Enchanted on Blu-Ray! Oh! Hear that? Its the music from illuminations!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycapril32.jpg
Watch your step, the next floor up has some things that are fancy!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycaprilphone9.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycaprilphone2.jpg

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycaprilphone5.jpg
And furry!!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycaprilphone7.jpg
and princess-y!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/Picture1.png
I love how I look like such a tomboy in this picture :rotfl: Sorry Ariel, i'll take the mets over the marlins any day!
One last peek over the railing to the second floor
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycaprilphone10.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/pretripaug08/nycapril/nycaprilphone8.jpg
And now I ask you to please remove all personal items from the overhead bins, exit to your right and have a magical day!

I think we were posting at the same time earlier, since you ignored my compliment on your shirt and my brilliant suggestions about where to have your picture made! :)
Either that or you're just miffed  about the comments I made on my TR about you wandering around looking for families to join.
It may turn out that as I am writing these very smart aleck comments, (for anyone who is reading that thinks I'm a rude jerk, I am completely only kidding with this girl!) you are once again posting over the top of me with your World of Disney pictures. I will forgive you, of course, because I really want to see those WoD pictures.
Your Not So Disney Day looked like fun. We actually almost did another one Saturday when they were here, since we went to the mall, but Brooklynn had fallen asleep on the way over there and wasn't her normal cheerful self. We'll do one again before long, I'm sure, to give ourselves a little faux Disney!
Did you buy the Mary Poppins Barbie set? The CandyLand stuff looks cute.
Oh, and by the way, I like your giraffe shirt.
I know where you should get your picture made on AK day.

Very cute. Perfect for Animal Kingdom day.
Have David take a picture of you on the safari as you go by the giraffe section. Or by the tall giraffe that's holding the AFRICA sign in its mouth.
Isn't it fun to buy things that you know you'll be wearing on your trip?!?!?

Haha i can never be mad at you MeMom! I may have offered to be adopted, but nobody has snatched me up yet! I'm still on the market for a disney family!
World of Disney is great, it gives you a reason to brave those subways!
Candyland is really neat, it lets you jump into a board game which is always fun! I want that mary poppins barbie doll set so bad! I may have to get it before I go home, i have no where to put it here!
And thanks about the shirt! :rotfl: Sorry about missing your comment before, but you're right, i'll take that picture just for you!!

I have only eaten there once but it was good. Has "Serendipity" opened since it was closed down by the board of health? I do love those frozen hot chocolates.
Barbies. The collectible ones. But I think I may start the Disney ones too.

Love Dylan's too...I love all the old candy stuff downstairs. I also love love love Serendipity. I was devastated when it closed down! I have been going there for years on all special occasions...it is my fav place in NYC!
It's a good thing you didn't see Little Mermaid on Broadway....it stunk. I am a Broadway fiend and can find good in all shows (even Cats) but this was a waste of the $100 bucks each we spent!

Just a bit of clarification. We have seen bits and pieces of Spectro, but only when we got stuck getting off BTMRR. Remember, our little daredevil isn't much into the parades. In fact, we have only sat for two parades duringour 3 trips. Last year, we saw the Stars and Motorcars parade and on our first trip, we saw th 3 o'clock parade. Well I shold say pooksma and I saw it. Declan was doing this:

To be honest I wasn't at all impressed with the museum, none of the exhibits are interactive, and I think i might have enjoyed it more if i had someone there to talk to or something...but i had one last stop to make! Dinosaur!! no not the ride, the exhibit!

So after that, i decided to walk through central park and somehow ended up walking all the way from the upper west side (west 81st street) to 5th ave! (east 59th street) it was a lot of walking but so worth it, central park is so pretty and it was such a beautiful day!

When i found the familiar buildings of fifth ave, I knew I could go to the disney store! i could smell it from where I was!! But what was that in the distance?? A ZOO!! I couldn't believe it, I saw the zoo on the map and told myself I would come back to it later, but it was right in front of me! I was ecstatic!!

Tracking down disney cont'd...my dream!
After about an hour worth of fun, I walked towards the disney store! I know i know, but i was already there! why not?? On the way I thought about Sea World. I had so much fun at the zoo today and I have always wanted to go there. Right now I dont know if i'll make it to Sea World before my trip because my dad has always wanted to go, but if we dont I think I may add a day to the Universal part of the trip and go to Sea World and possibly aquatica!
Anyway, disney store, here I am!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/nycapril1723.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/nycapril1724.jpg
Now I had so much fun walking around, and when i got on the second floor there was a nice man wearing all of these cool hidden mickey pins! I of course commented on them, and our conversation turned from pins, to my trip, to staying at the beach club, and disney in general!! When i said thanks and turned to walk away he said wait here a moment...i was hoping for it but i had no idea they did it in the store too! But yes! He came back with a magical moments certificate and told me "this moment is certifiably magical. which pin on my lanyard do you like? you can have it" and he handed me the coolest pin, and a dream certificate!
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/nycapril1728.jpg
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/nycapril1729.jpg
I was so thankful!! Later on, i went back so i could take a picture with him but he had already left :sad1: So i went to the registers to ask for a bag to put this awesome stuff in it, and the awesome CM helping me was like "Thats awesome you got a magical moments certificate....whens your birthday?" and i was like "october 7th" and he was like HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and handed me a pin :rotfl:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm276/nal107/nycapril1727.jpg
My best time at the world of disney store yet, and definitely not my last!

I'm seeing a lot of inequality in our days here.
You - out on the streets of NY, walking through the park, at the zoo, getting dreams at World of Disney
Me- cooped up in a classroom, fifteen minutes on the playground, my kids act like they belong in a zoo, not a dream in sight
What are you doing so right and/or what am I doing so wrong????
Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks like a wonderful, beautiful, very good day!
I keep reminding myself that I do what I do so that I can do what I want to do.
Does that make sense? That's lots of little bitty words, but I think they have a lot of meaning.
I really hope it works out for some of you guys to meet up before you're out of there.

What a gorgeous day out today!! Perfect Disney weather!
I was thinking of walking around Canal Street or maybe going to the Museum of Natural History (I've never been!!) If anyone is in the NYC area and wants to hang out, let me know, I have my iPhone so i can check! :)
You did exactly what we did about a week ago! We went to the museum and then walked all the way across the park to the Enchanted fountain (thats what I call it anyways)!!! The people I was with didn't let me in the Disney store, they aren't into Disney but I looked at it and snapped a sad pic from across the street!
Your day seemed awesome tho! We go to the central park zoo at least once a year, my fav are the penguins! I still have yet to go to the bronx zoo.
BTW did you pay full price for the museum??? I hope not, because the price is "suggested" and you can really pay as little as you want. 2 of us paid $20 last time, and at the Met we usually pay less. I love the met...have u been there yet???
We so need to do a meet up!!!!

No fair, your NY pics make me want to jump on the next plane to the big apple!:upsidedow
Before the kids I used to go quite often. Love musicals, and have seen them all --Phantom(4 times), Les Miz, Rent, Sunset Blvd., Annie, Ms. Saigon.... etc.
But lately, only Disney ones: B&B, Lion King (4 times) :lovestruc Hoping to see Little Mermaid in the wintertime....
My other current fave is Wicked (seen 3 times).
Love NY! As a single girl, dreamt about living there.
(Now how in the heck did I end up Houston??!!! :rolleyes1 )
Love your pics, keep em comin'! :)

My friend had told me that, but I paid the student rate of $11 for general admission and heres what happened...I wanted to go to the butterfly garden "no you need seperate admission" fine...I wanted to go the water thing they had (you can see the banner on the front of the museum) "no you need seperate admission" so i march down to the ticketing and tell them I want to see those 2 exhibits which i figure is MAYBE 10$ extra...the guy was gonna charge me $20!! I was like "wait what? they arent just exhibits" hes like "no theyre shows and you have to go at this time" I was so confused so I was done -- Disney can nickel and dime me because they ROCK and sometimes its for a good reason, but a museum can not.
The MET is next on my list! I've always wanted to go there
I'm looking forward to a meet up, maybe we can go to the MET! :rotfl:

I inquired about Mary Poppins at the disney store, they said it was really good maybe I can swing it before I leave but i'd probably go solo...I also really wanted to see Wicked but I can try and see that back in FL, Mary Poppins is strictly here for now!! I'm gonna miss NY for sure but i plan on coming back with a degree in my hands (thats the plan anyway!)

So i've been checking Disneyworld.com every so often since I booked the POP room standard to see if Preferred became available. A few days before Free Dining was announced, all rooms were booked: Preferred or otherwise, so I just gave up hoping for the best. This morning I logged on thinking "well maybe some families rescheduled their trip" and i was delghted to find that both preferred and standard rooms were available! I immediately called and changed the reservation to preferred room and had her note on the booking we would like the 60s! Last time at POP, i just loved the location of the room being so close to everything. We had the best of both worlds because we weren't facing the 60s courtyard but we were around the corner facing the woods. We were so close and yet it was quiet at night. I just didn't want to take the chance of being so far away, and the extra $10 a night is worth it to me I guess :confused3 In the grand scheme of all that I am spending on this vacation, I can justify the extra $60 :rotfl: Like all things that I do though, i'm struggling a bit with the decision, teetering back and forth between "we'll be closer" and "But a different section could be a new experience" I'll sit on the preferred room for a while and make sure to be complete in my decision before the 45 day mark :)
I'm going to post my updated itinerary today, and I think later today or tomorrow i'm taping the podcast! I'm excited and a bit nervous :scared1:

Ultra stupendous, subject to change orlando 2008 itinerary!
Let me know what you guys think! One of the things we decided to do because of the amount of breaks that we take (and after reading PrincessNikki's report (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1730495) was to take one of our console's (either the wii or ps3) with us, to add something to do while we take our breaks. I know, why be inside playing video games at DISNEYWORLD?? but sometimes its raining and you can't be swimming, but its going to be so hot out that we need to be in the air conditioned room!

I just wanted to go a little bit :offtopic: for a moment. Not too off topic though, because what i want to say relates to walt disney!
I always remember when I was on SSE or World of Motion the imagineers always had a scene for communication and progress. After all, Progress was Walt Disney's thing he loved it and loved to dream about it. Well last night, I made that scene come alive and realized that Walt was right all along. Like Steve Jobs had predicted that one day everybody would have personal computers, Walt always predicted the various ways we were going to communicate and he always emphasized video communication.
Some know that yesterday was Passover. Also, some may know that my family is Jewish. For 20 years in a row I have celebrated Passover with my family. Not to get into a religious debate, but I partake in it solely for tradition, because I love my family and I love the traditions that we have. This is the first year I would not be celebrating Passover with my family. No reading of the seder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passover_seder) (pronounced SAY-DER) (right like i really cared about missing that :rotfl: boooring) no hanging out with my cousins before the seder, and most importantly no matzo ball soup (:scared1: ) so needless to say, I was a bit upset. For comparative reasons, own Passover up to be sort of like a christmas eve dinner, especially if a christmas eve dinner is something you have took part in for 20 years.
So lets get back to progress. We have a problem. I want to be home for Passover. What are our solutions?
1) Fly home. Nope can't do that, unless I want to pay $400 at least roundtrip.
2) Suck it up and go to my uncles house in Brooklyn. Nope can't do that because my cousin got sick
3) Just let it go, chances are you'll be there next year. I can do this, i'm not a baby.
4) Progress.

This is me sitting at the kids table where I usually sit. Thats a very blurry picture of David holding Oreo across the table. Sitting next to me are Michael & Kara my cousins. And we are doing the sedar, which is the reading of Passover. And like we do every year, we rush through it, read the good parts, sing our dayanu's (http://youtube.com/watch?v=2YwVmxtgCNI) and eat Matzo Ball soup.
And while I couldn't actually taste the homeade egg noodles that David had prepared like he does every year, I got to be with my family on Passover for the 21st year in a row.
Thanks Walt. You da man.

Awesome use of technology, Nicole! Fantastic! :goodvibes I wouldn't be able to miss a family gathering like that. However, I am the only computer geek in my family, so I would have to miss it, as there would be no way for me to, ahem, telecommute!

I think thats so awesome that you still got to "spend" time with your family!!!!
So as far as the meet goes a Thursday or a Friday is better for me personally but I am flexible. I kinda figured a Thursday would be quieter in general, in WoD & The Met (if thats what we do). So the only day I can't is Friday (this week the 25th because we are going to see Wicked). So let's stamp down a day!!!!

Okay I made a boo boo. Not a very big boo boo at all, but a boo boo.
Remember how I had one ADR left to go? One left to book for our last day? Well I booked it for a 10:20am breakfast at Tusker House. Where was the mistake you ask?
I told David about it.
I didn't tell him when it was, but I asked his opinion in a moment of weakness. His response, in true DIS fashion was "whats the point of getting a breakfast in the park if its not so you get there before it opens? :rotfl:" But this is when he said, I thought that all our ADRs were taken care of? (Well he didn't say ADRs, if he did, I would have shed a tear) Oh crap! That's right! According to YOUR itinerary they are!! Think, Nicole, think!!
"Well remember I said I wouldn't be able to get all the ones we picked out?"
"Which one didn't you get?"
So i told him, according to HIS itinerary, we didn't get WCC or Coral Reef. That's right, David, the two restaurants YOU were looking forward to. *Insert Evil Laugh* Technically, we didn't, because WCC and Coral Reef are dinners on Beach Club days, which in his head, doesn't even exist.
"WHAT!!? AW, MAN! Well now I have to look at the menu's again and we need to pick a dinner, because I don't think its worth it to stop in Animal Kingdom once we're there to eat."
Spoken like a true DISer too, only he doesn't realize that before this AK encounter, we will have been there twice already.
So the merry go round of ADRs continues for this trip, and I guarantee this won't be the last :cutie:
Hopefully when we get to the TR, I can get David to help, I think that his input will really be funny! And theres only one way to really find out how he felt when I told him about BC...and WCC...and Coral Reef!

I think I'm going to have to suspend your phone privileges for a while, because I think the more you talk to David, the more chances you have of slipping up and ruining this big secret for me.
I mean him.
I don't know if I could do it. I think I would spill the beans and end up talking about someplace we were going to be when we were already supposed to be back at home!
I'm pretty sure I would.
I know I would.
I'm positive.

Okay, I'm back. We learned everything there was to know about animals in 45 minutes (yep, we're that good!), and now they're off to tie-dye t-shirts for field day. Each grade has a different color every year just to help kind of know who belongs where, and we are blue. Since I have a blue tie-dyed Splash Mountain t-shirt, I'm going to be sneaking in my Disney on that day!
It's the truth.
It's actual.
You're going to get wet!
It says something like that on the back, and a there's a soaking wet Mickey and friends picture on the front.
Now, back to the Beach Club thing - no problem. We're going to go over there and have ice cream at some point in time anyway. I'll call you when I'm there, most likely, and I'll describe what they have, and you can decide what you want me to get. I'll probably just mail it from there, so you'll know it is on its way.
I'm happy to be in on the secret, because when the big reveal comes along, I'll be back at work. I will be very happy to know that some of my Dis pals are down there having great times, and that I had a small part in creating the magic for David!

I'd love to have a Statue of Liberty Minnie, if they make such a thing. Maybe I just dreamed it. Anyway, I'm willing to pay any of you guys who would send one of those to me.

I'd love to have a Statue of Liberty Minnie, if they make such a thing. Maybe I just dreamed it. Anyway, I'm willing to pay any of you guys who would send one of those to me.
Any good Diser knows there will be eating involved. Take pictures of your food, too, just like you would in Disney World. I want to see it all.
Okay, PM me your address and I'll do the best I can!
I know that there is a Minnie Statue of Liberty, but not sure if there is a plush. :)

Will do. Maybe you can send me a phone picture me while you're there and show me what's on the shelf.
Aaah, technology. I can shop by cell phone in Noo Yo-werk whilst I'm fixin' evenin' vittles in Podunk, Tenner-see.
I'm not sure we can say, 'When pigs fly!" about much of anything any more!

I don't know who is going.
I don't know what you're eating.
I don't know when you're meeting.
But I do hope you will do the World of Disney thing and give us pictures and a photo tour of that, with all of your witty, knowledgeable, New York comments.

Well Kat can't make it in until dinner time around 6:30pm, we don't have to eat dinner, but I wouldn't be against it :rotfl:
We dont have any concrete plans as of right now, but i'm assuming it involves WoD. The MET was mentioned but I don't know what time they shut their doors
I am free all day on the 1st...so whenever is good for me...just say when and where and I'll show up!
What about going to Serendipity? I miss that place and we mentioned it before?? We might need a ressie...I dunno. Otherwise my fav site for new places to eat is: menupages.com. Any anybody have any food preferences???

Yikes! Glad you were able to think on your feet! I am soooo jealous of you...to have a brother who's actually interested in ADR's! :rotfl: He doesn't ever browse on the DIS though, does he? You wouldn't want him to ruin his surprise! :scared:

Okay well since the MET is closed, I guess a restaurant would be an obvious choice, any suggestions? I would think something quiet so we can talk, but maybe I really won't like any of you and would prefer a place that was really noisy so I didn't have to talk to you....hmmm decisions, decisions :rotfl: Juuuuust kidding. What do you suggest?

The hard rock or ESPN club would tie into the "Disney" feel, i'm good at either. Well, Hard Rock would be more Universal than Disney, but still an excellent choice. There's also bubba gump shrimp to consider. Again, me=down for anything

I'm having severe resort anxiety issues because I'm not sure if i want to switch our BC days with an AKL Savannah view!! To help myself, I breathe in a paper bag..haha JK, I look at BC pictures online and think to myself how because we dont stay in AKL this time means theres another new place to stay for the next trip! Which i know for a fact will be booked bounceback if they offer it while we're there!
I would say cut one day off of OKW and add a day so you can get 2 nights at the WL or AKL...for me its all about money -- i don't know if i would stay at AKL without the savannah view which is about the same as a courtyard at WL, which is a resort that you can book standard and still feel like the resort is enough, you know? For me, all the memories I have of walking in from the WL bus stop and the smell of that lobby just hitting you as you walked passed the mercantile...it is just the greatest feeling.
I always feel like I want to book WL because I love it but I think its more along the lines of I know what to expect with it. I know that if I book there, I'll love the way the lobby smells and looks and how the food court is.
In reality, I should always try something new, and you know what? If it turns out that the beach club isn't as nice as the WL, I know that when its time to start redoing the resorts, I'll go to the WL. I don't know if any of that makes sense as it is 12:40am...but I do have to conclude with this, do you see my ticker??
