Wow! That's cheap. I don't recall rates that low in a couple years for the values.
yea, i was stunned! the first nite was 69 and the last nite was 69 but the rest of the days were 49. she told me that code came out yesterday and they were going fast. we tried for all star movies but they were gone. all she had left at that rate was pop century and we like that place too.
we are rarely in the room. always out running.:rolleyes1

Just to make it official...My family and I want to thank everyone who participated in the DisTag game. It was so much fun! The thoughtfulness that y'all put into the gifts were positively inspiring, and left me speechless (which NEVER happens) many times. A very sincere thanks to you all.:)
Yes, thank you everyone for the great Tag gifts.
DS thought it was Xmas. He'd run ahead of us to see if we got anything and would open the door in the morning to see if anyone tagged us overnight.
Much fun.

I read somewhere that they will be charging more on weekends starting next year. That may explain the $20 more.

I appreciate the effort you made but unfortunatly I am begining to think that I will never be what my parents want me to be.
A day or so before we left for the trip I told my mom about my new business. She did not even comment on it, and when she handed my father the business card he said well there is another waste of money.

Do you have a pic of it?
Suz got one a couple cruises ago, but if it is different, I may take you up on it.
I don't. I can try to get one for you this evening. It is round. In the center it is gold with a bunch of purple grapes with green leaves. Then round the outside with a purple background and in gold lettering it says Wine Tasting from stem to stern. I will try to get a pic tonight.

I would like to put another big THANK YOU out to Scott, Lori, Alex and Julia for taking us lost soles along with you in Cozumel. It was great. We did not plane anything for this stop, due to the fact that I don't like it and I was not sure how the girls would do there. So we were just going to get off and shop and walk around. We made it no further then the peir when we ran into them and they invited us to go with them to the ruines. (sp). We had a great time. Both Scotts love that type of thing while the rest of us just hung out and had a great time.
Thank you again guys. By they way Mac says hi to Julia.
We had fun that day also. I was just looking at the photo of Julia and Mac holding hands walking down the pier. The guys definitely get into that sort of thing so it was nice having someone just to gab with.

YUMMY!
Here's the recipe I found:
Sgroppino - a special cocktail from Italy
Here is a recipe that we use, Giada De Lauretiis made it on her show Everyday Italian and it is scrumptious!
1 cup chilled Prosecco (Italian sparkling white wine)
2 tablespoons chilled vodka
1/3 cup frozen lemon sorbet
1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh mint leaves
Pour the Prosecco and vodka into 2 Champagne flutes, diving equally. Spoon a scoop of sorbet into each flute. Sprinkle with mint and serve immediately. YUMM!

Scott here, I do not know his age, but he was traveling with a wife and 4 year old son. Also this tid bite from a fellow cruiser...
I also wanted to tell you about the info on scary guy. His name is Steven Adams. I googled his name. He was telling the truth about all the band and PS2 crap. Go figure. Alcohol cost him a great vacation.
Creepy guy kept telling me how famous he was. He sells his music to PS2 games now. He has his on drum sticks and he really was in a band called Bender ... that's all.
That is it for now.

No Paige, it wasn't your kids. It was someone who played tag. Those are the only people who had the list. My kids weren't playing and they had their magnets flipped because they were listed on the DIStag list.
Actually, I already know who it was. I have a picture as proof. Stacy caught a glimpse of the culprit(s) and snapped a picture on her cell phone.
So, how about we give the offenders a week to turn themselves in, otherwise I bust them out and post the picture. :rotfl2:

Hello all. Just catching up on the latest Dis Board Chat.
Cinamike,
We went to WDW for 10 days last February with Mike, Missy and their boys. We stayed at Pop Cenury and really enjoyed it. We may have to consider a reunion tour and join you guys. At those prices you can't beat it. By the way,
I took a great photo in Key West of a Yacht named Serenity which was docked in the Marina close to the Disney Magic. We had just walked off the ship for the first time and there it was...Serenity Now, just like in the Seinfeld episode. I will have to upload it and post it for you to see. I thought it was just cool start to our Vacaton.
Hello to Medicalman and Family. I am glad you all had a good time and made it home safely. We will have to make plans to travel across the pond to see you all sometime in the near future. I'm sure Alex can't wait to see Olivia again. Best regards.

I got you beat. Mine through snap fish was $66.00 including shipping.
I'm not paying that:eek:
Geez, we just spent over $170 in photos and DVD at Dolphin Discovery
Then we bought $84 in photos at shutters and $65 for DVD for stingray city...
YIkes!
My photo bill was pretty high too...
$105 at Shutters
$100 for my pics from my digital camera
AND I'm not done! I just got my mom's friend Mary's CD of pics in the mail, and she got a bunch of phots I didn't (yes, that's hard to believe) so I'll be going back for more. Plus, I found the Shutters release form online so I can scan and make copies of all my Shutters pics. Our formal night photo turned out well.

Dear Konked Kruisers,
Jay and I wanted to thank you for adopting Sheldon J. Plankton on your cruise and we hope he wasn't too much trouble. The plush green guy returned home to us last night full of incredible tales and loaded down with contraband. I don't think I want to know how he made it through Customs.
We were very amused by the wardrobe that Plankton appears to have assembled during the cruise ... love the formalwear (he even has a walking stick!) and the Pirate garb was very impressive. And...am I wrong to be concerned about what appears to be a lime green Borat thong? :scared1:
Obviously someone(s) spent a fair amount of time pulling this all together - thank you for your generosity and creative energy and sense of fun. It's very comforting to know that there may be people out there who are actually more demented than Jay and me. :lmao:
It sounds like you all had a wonderful cruise and for that I am more pleased than you can know - if anyone deserved a great trip it was this group. I've enjoyed sharing the fun and excitement with you and will miss the daily back and forth. If you happen to wander off the cruise boards and see me around, please say hello.
Karen, thanks for masterminding the kidnapping plot and taking care of Plankton on the ship. We enjoyed meeting you and your family so much and hope that there's another meeting for us in the future. By the way, Jay loves the HRC magnet!
Linda, thanks again for collecting those pins for Jay, who was quite pleased last night as he sorted through them. We were so disappointed that we weren't able to hook up at WDW this year but are confident that there will be another opportunity for us to do so - Plankton is very interested in European travel.
Nancy, thank you for collecting our little green terror and seeing him safely home. I hope it wasn't too much trouble. Jay and I were very sad not to share this cruise with you and Chuck, but are really looking forward to seeing you this summer in Cheeseland. Where exactly, I don't know... when exactly, I'm not sure... but we will be there!
Many thanks again to all of you who played a part in this - we're having so much fun reliving your cruise through Plankton's eye. Also, many thanks to the anonymous KKer who passed along a YOMD pin trading lanyard to us! It will make a great keepsake along with the Dream Fastpasses we won on my birthday! :goodvibes
Best wishes to all of you for good health and prosperity. :grouphug:

and drinking that wonderful lemon sherbert and champagne and vodka drink they served you after dinner at Palo!
YUMM!
That sounds so good Rose--thanks for the recipe!!! We only made it to Palo for brunch.

Masked Gunmen Rob Couple At Disney's Pleasure Island

WFTV - ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Early Thursday morning, two people sitting on a bench at Disney's Pleasure Island were robbed at gun point.
The victim's weren't able to give police a good description because both men were wearing Halloween masks. Orange County deputies said a couple was trying to get some quiet time alone at Pleasure Island when two men came up to them and pointed a gun in their face.
The man and woman were sitting on a bench on the back side of the entertainment venue around 2:00 Thursday morning. One of the men was wearing a 'joker' or clown-like Halloween mask while the other was wearing a plain black ski mask.
The two suspects demanded everything the couple had. The man gave up his wallet and $25. Deputies found the empty wallet in another part of Pleasure Island.

I hope I got some good pics for you guys pararsailing.
Your tenderloin from Palo looked very sad, was it any good? Or was it just not photogenic?? :rolleyes1 :lmao:
Honestly I don't remember. I just loved being there and with excellent company and really good champagne. I do remember my last night of the cruise I had tenderloin again and that one was the best ever!
How was the Dolphin Swim??? We were still going to do ours but Rob's family opted out and the only way we could get their portion refunded was to cancel all of our ressies because they made a mistake on the time. Was the water really choppy or was it manageable???
It was great! I heard about your mixup... so sorry:sad2: . The water was really wavy and strong though. I had a very hard time in it. I am not a good swimmer and we had to swim out a bit, then the dolphins would bring us back in. I was struggling to get out there. I have very mild asmatha, never usually notice it, but I did then! By the third time out Bob, who is an excellent swimmer, just told me to hang on to him and he pulled my out! I think my son did ok with it, so he says. But yeah, it was very hard to manage, I thought. BUT... WORTH EVERY MINUTE AND PENNY OF IT!

Loved the pics. It is so neat to see a different angle of the cruise. I have 2 favorite pics, the one with the girls holding hands walking down the pier in Coz, and the chicken by the KFC sign I think in Grand Cayman.

Thank you. I love looking at everyone's pictures also. If I would have posted all of mine you would have seen alot of the characters because that is what we did most of the time. The girls walking down the pier is one of my favorites also. I would never have thought that when we booked this trip that Mackenzie would make a friend that easily. She still talks about Julia.
We did the San Gervasio thing with Scott #2, Lori, and thier girls. It was weird. We planned nothing for the stop. (I really don't like Cozamel) so we were just going to get off and shop. On the pier we ran into Scott and Lori, Scott was asking what we had planned. We told him nothing and she said they were going to get a cab out to this place and would we like to join them. We found out that both Scotts have a lot of similarities. I am not one for history but I am so glad that we went with them. It was a blast.
The mermaid was taken in Grand Cayman when Mac and I went down in the submarine. I know that the mermaid was planted there I just thought it was real interesting to see suba divers down there taking pictures of it.

Sean and I were talking tonight and we are really trying to get some of our debt paid off, so it looks like cruising in 2009 is out, especially with the big cruise next year. We think we will use our DVC and the tickets we have now (no expiration) and go to WDW in December (love that place during Christmas time:santa: ), plus we are turning 40 that year so we have to do something!
But don't think that you can get rid of me that easy:rolleyes1 . I am going to keep up with this board, and live vicariously through you guys in 09 whether it be Alaska or the double dip. So if any of you are up for 2011 we are all in!

Well, It may be me starting it again! I've been talking to Laura, We had planned to got the WDW in Feb '09 and DCL Feb '10, but Laura doesn't want to go to WDW so soon after our Christmas '08 DL trip (Sickening all these Disney vacations isn't it!:rotfl: ) So, I suggested that we put it off until Oct '09 and go on the reunion cruise. I have to say... Laura was very receptive to the idea. So, if no DCL Alaska in Summer '09 then I'll probably be joining y'all! (I'll definately do Alaska with DCL we can drive to that one. And the kids don't have to miss school.!)

So, how about we keep this thread going until we can start the next one?
Hopefully it won't be too much longer and that 3 more weeks is correct.
Just hope they release all the dates, not just the first few months (or even the last months - holding the summer hostage).
For 2008, they released the itins, but the ressies weren't available until 2 weeks later.

I'm all for that. I think that last year they released the first and last part of the year and withheld the summer for later. Now, it would be excruciating to know the dates but be unable to book the cruises!

today my mom got a grand idea (in a good way) of going during christmas of 08 she keeps talking about how much she wants to go back! you would think we would have only been there once!
No we are doing the Panama Canal next year so it will be early Dec 09 when we go.

then she went ahead and got the 2007 dcl scrapbook stuff on the cruise.
i teased her"you havnt done the scrapbook from 05 yet!!":rotfl2:
shes a tad behind eh?:lmao:
I bought the one on the ship but there is nothing inside to make it cruise related. I would like some paper that is disney cruise themed but I think I might be to picky. I want to start on mine but have to wait for the photos:sad2:

thats not too bad
we are thinking of going next summer
we were going to do a rode trip to nyc, the falls, toronto, and boston
but now we might not do boston and just go for 1 week instead of 2 and then for a week visit kelsey at least if i had a choice i would do it that way
maybe we could make a stop at your house or you guys could come with us
Hey Rach
We would not mind having you visit and all but we are not anywhere near the places that you mentioned.

How about we say August 22nd if it is Alaska - providing they don't take the ship back before then. I can't go any earlier than the 15th unless it is in June, but then it may be too cold.
If that doesn't work, then we go for 10/24/09! :thumbsup2
Just a side not. The first sailing to Alaska for any cruise line is the week of Mothers day (in May). It was not horrible cold. Yes you needed a coat on land and of course on deck, but it would not be that big of a change for most of you. And you can always go to the sauna to warm up. That is what I did.

Popping in quickly to agree with Heather ... Mouse Memories has great stuff and I'm not even a very avid scrapbooker. I still haven't made it past Day 1 of our 2005 cruise ... so let's not talk about the scrapbooks that I haven't started for the trips since then. :rotfl2:

I would be all for a reunion cruise in October '09. Not sure if we're interested in the Alaska cruise. I know it's beautiful up there (my mom's family is all from north of Seattle and it's gorgeous there) but I kinda like going to the beach on vacation. It would be really hard to book a DCL cruise that didn't go to CC.
On a side note, my in-laws (Pete's parents) have expressed interest in going on the next cruise, but they keep throwing out alternate dates (Easter/Spring Break or sometime in June) but I'm kind of ignoring them for now. They don't seem to get that those would not be off-season times for the Disney Cruise...:rolleyes1

Wow Carrie, will it ever cool off?
I was hoping it will, but now we have heard that this will be a real mild winter for us. Another reason to move. Normally when we trick or treat we need to wear a light jacket, and the kids need to wear a long sleeve shirt under their costume. This year there were no long sleeve shirts or jackets.
For thanksgiving day I am normally wearing a heavy sweet shirt while putting up x-mas lights. I don't see that happening this year either.

Carrie,
I haven't gotten a chance to look at all your photos yet, but I love the one with Thomas and Mackenzie! I'll be printing that one for sure!
I wish I could start scrapping my photos - I have to wait a couple more weeks. People have been asking to see my pictures, so I put them (well, abot 350 or so of the 670!) in a generic photo album so I could show them to people. Once I show them to everyone, then I can take them out of that album and start scrapping!
I'll have to check out those sites too....

I would love to do WDW at Christmas, Paige ... I haven't done that since I was 5 years old.
Unfortunately Jay isn't allowed to take time off during the months of November, December, or January so that idea is a big bust unless he gets incriminating pictures of his manager with some goats...note to self: get Jay's boss drunk next weekend, bring two goats, and a camera.
I'll just have to experience the joy of Disney Christmas through your eyes with the trip report I just know you're going to write. ;)

Depending on if you are planning on stopping between SF and LV and what day you are planning on traveling, I would suggest a weekend day due to work traffic in and out of the city. It should take you between 8 and 10 hours depending on stops and traffic. Take at least 2 or 3 days in the city if you have never been there before.

Ok the price of the DD for 08 is over 2000 for a cat 11. Do you think if we booked this as soon as it came out in 09 that it would be cheaper? DU has it at 18??, and we would be booking through them anyways. The gears are turning to get to cruise with you guys again, thinking of renting out some of our points to cover costs, all comes down to cost (sigh).

Booking when it first comes out (in the first hour if you're going for the repo :scared1: ) is the cheapest.
If you booked onboard, transfer the ressie with DCL first thing and then xfer it out to DU.
If you don't have one, just book with DU as soon as it comes out. They will have a block of rooms in each category to sell.

Rose and Bob - firstly, loved the photos. Thanks for sharing. The one of Bob and Sean on formal night..they looked like bouncers for the clubs.

Hey Chris.
Welcome home. So we want to hear all about the 2 week. The kids have not stopped talking about your kids. I am so glad they could all become friends. As for the t-towel. I love it. But could you explain to me why it is called a t-towel. Sorry a little neive.

No tripod. I'm too short standing amongst all of those people, so I just held the camera over my head and snapped away. :thumbsup2
