Good Bye KK1. Goodbye to everyone that we have had the fine pleasure of talking with on this thread and also meeting. Hopefully we can all cross paths again sometime in the future, but unfortunatly I will not be for KK2. We just can not do it with the kids in school. I wish you all the best of luck and have a great time for us.

We miss you all

Well, here it is the close of this thread. KK1 was an awesome time. I think I speak for all that it was a fantastic cruise with some equally fantastic people. Thank you to all of you who made it what it was.

Now looking forward, I hope to stay in touch in some way or another with all of you. And KK2 is now in the making. I'd like to extend an invitation to all KK'ers even if you are not planning on joining KK2, chat with us on the new thread.

Just seeing if anyone wants to chat about KK cruise memories or what everyone's been up to.

If so, post away. Looks like our old thread is still here.

Tell me about it. We had the lull here for about a week with the snow, but we were going every other day with at least 4"-6". If we get back in the groove again, we'll beat last winter, and the record, for sure.

How about the bitter cold coming next week. -2* F for a high on Tues and Wed. :cold:

I too was shocked the thread was still open. But you figure, it isn't up to the limit yet. They did move us over here to the Trip Report boards, but I guess that would be appropriate since all the posts are post-cruise. However, you still see some threads on the Cruise Meets thread from prior cruises (i.e. both Repo's from 2008 - they have "remembering" threads going over there. They should be here).

Maybe some of the KKers will stop by and post. I know a good amount of us are going on the B.O.B. (a/k/a KK2), but if we want to talk about KK stuff, probably best done over here (more than half the people on the BOB aren't KKers, so we don't really want to post that kind of stuff over there).

Hey ladies. Glad you found the thread. How are you both doing?

Nancy, how about the snow? Looks like we dodged the worst of it (Chicago got it for a change).

Can you guys believe it's been over 14 months since we got off the KK cruise?

Are you both looking forward to KK2? It should be fun to see everyone again (well, at least those who will be sailing again).

Lori, great news on Harrison. That will make the clubs a lot easier for you.

Yes, it will be nice for you and Scott to have some time to yourselves in the evening or during the days. Although, isn't your oldest, old enough to sit him? Could you (or would you) leave them in the room alone?

Cass,

When converting Kira's bed, couldn't you have used the end boards for a head and foot board and made it a single bed? That is how DS's bed converted. It went from Crib to Infant/Toddler Bed to Single to Double. They call it a Crib (or Bed) for Life.

We have since made it a double and put it in the Guest Room and got him bunk beds (single for both).

Unfortunately her crib doesn't convert to a bed, it's just a crib. But the bed was a crib that did convert but I couldn't use that crib because I would have had to bend WAYYYY over to pick her up when she was a baby (the side part didn't come down).

It should last her quite a while, so we're happy with it :thumbsup2

Our is almost exactly like that one and when it was in crib form, what you have now as the head and foot board were the front and back of the crib. It had two ends then that were the width of the crib mattess. What we could do is take the rails you used on the double, and put them with the ends and make a single bed.

As for the drop side, I know, our only flipped down, exposing about 6-10 inches. It was fine when the mattress was raised, but when you put it down when they get older (i.e. the climbing ages), it is a reach to the mattress.

One word of caution, if yours is the same set up as ours, watch the pins that hold the bed rails. Ours loosen every once in a while. We also have one of the rails that split becasue we didn't keep the footboard straight (i.e. don't wiggle them too much).

Nonetheless, it is a great bed (and idea for whomever invented it).

Hope she gets to sleep a little earlier for you tonight.

Nope, video games here go right on the big screen in the family room.

Although, my den is in the spare bedroom, but it is in the closet. We have walk-in closets in all the bedrooms, so there is ample room.

We didn't get to hang out to much with you all because of DD not wanting to go into the clubs until the last couple of night. I soooo wish I was going on the October cruise, makes me cry thinking about it everytime. I feel I have gotten to know most of you so much better now. I am very happy though that I got to spend sometime with Jeff, Chris, and Heather, and their families in August.

We did have a great time on the Repo, didn't we?

Sorry you won't be on KK2, the Reunion Cruise.

Gotta love the "built-in babysitter" don't ya?

We have problems finding/keeping them (we moved, they get too old, and another was very responsible and then stood us up 1 day before New Year's Eve 2 years ago).

It is nice. But we still pay her. I don't want her to feel like she is always just going to be dumped on. Although her pay isn't what we would have to pay someone else.....but she doesn't know that.;)

We went there on New Year's night (not Eve - 3 hour wait then).

I love the Lamb there. They will cut the rack into chops for you.

Have a great dinner.

1 1/2 hour wait. We decided not to wait. So, we ended up at Red Robin. It was ok. Then some shopping.

LOL, yup...there's the little baldy LOL!!! :lmao:

She still doesn't have much hair though :rolleyes1 We went to Gymboree today...first class of the winter session and there's girls there (same age as Kira) with hair down past their shoulders

Except for the little curl I cut off for a keepsake, she still hasn't even had a haircut :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Guess she takes after Rob's side with the no hair thing :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Do I sleep in a crib at your house??:lmao: :lmao:

Definitely NOT me. Any course that you can fall off of, I'm terrible at.

I know Ellis won at least one if not two challenges (4 races). Can't remember if Logan won one. I thought he did. Ryan I think won one too.

I was on the phone with MD (AFEG) for a while, so Suz filled in for me (good thing because I was getting frustrated :headache: ).

I talked to Scott tonight about getting wireless. He sounds very interested.:thumbsup2

It is so easy to hook up wireless in your house. I think a router is only $59.99 or $69.99. I have a Lynksys that I got from Best Buy.

You will also love it if you have a laptop.

The only thing, make sure your phones are not 2.4 mhz. They will cut your wireless out. Our microwave also affects it. We have 5.8 MHz and the new 6.3 MHz phones in our house now. No problems.

BTW, there are several other games beside Mario Kart you can play online.

I believe Guitar Hero is available online too. I know they have some soccer game and I believe paintball is also out there. I would love to do paintball.

Mario/Sonic Olympics is another. I think there are about 20+ games right now for online.

It is just unbelievable to be sitting here in WI playing two different people in England.

Also, if they can get Wii Talk (or is it Speak) over there, you could talk to other people through your Wii. That would mean no long distance calls to talk to Cath for you. :thumbsup2

DS's b-day isn't until Feb 10. We were looking at doing WDW again over that time, but this came up and we jumped at it.
