Has anyone used one of those vacuum space saver bags for your clothes? How did they work? Did they leave your clothes wrinkled? Can you repack the dirty clothes at the end of the week? (some of them have a 2 way valve or something like that and it allows you to put your dirty clothes in them and roll them up at end of the week).
Mark
Vacuum ones I like, roll up ones not so much. I can never get enough air out of the roll up ones. But anything will help. Another trick, get the big ziplock bags, seal just until the very end and roll the air our, while it is still rolled up seal it and unroll it.

Ohh! Ahhh! Electronics! Must...have...closer...look...must...press...butto ns...must...turn...dials!

You and Rob are going to get along just fine! ::yes::
Adorable! Rachel used to do that too, wear her pants as a "hat" :rotfl2:
It was her mommy who put those on her head :rolleyes1
Karen - I like the wedding pics. Thanks for sharing! And Cass, that photo of you & Kira with your Dad is sweet. Rob must have been doing something funny for Kira. I love that happy look she has!
Well, just 3 more weeks, and we'll be on our way to the cruise ship at this time! Can't wait!
I know there was a question a few pages back about dining. We've requested early APL. If we get it, we're going to hate eating THAT early, but we want that rotation.
We still don't have any word on the results of our poochy's biopsy. She does have another post-surgery checkup on Tues, so if they don't call me on Monday, I'm sure they'll tell me on Tuesday. I HATE this waiting. The stress is killing me.
Hi Tina! :wave2:
I am gonna have a hard time eating that early too! Not to mention getting ready by 5:30!!! On pirate night, we have a 3:30pm dolphin encounter booked then we gotta get some pictures and RUN back to the ship just to get ready. Oh my :faint:
Hope you get the results soon for your doggie!!

Good Morning Karen and Chris....
HOpe your day gets a little sunnier there Karen....
It did actually- it turned inot a lovely day:cool1: - a friend and I took the kids to the open day at the local fire station...bouncy castles, bbq, funfair, fire displays, marching bands, all sorts of stuff (and of course lots of dishy fire fighters for us to drool over;) )..It tunred into a really fun day.
I have a couple of appointments this morning then I am meeting Mary and the kids out at a Indian spiritual retreat place. They are taking an all day workshop to make their own drum. Kind of cool. I'll go out later in case youngest son needs a bit of help. They will do a drum circle afterwards to use their drums.
Wow! - that sounds really good! I wish I could come:yay:
Thanks for asking Karen. Spencer has opened his eyes a little more. Sometimes he will follow images through the room. He has moved his legs and arms but not his feet or toes. So far he has had 5 separate surgeries. He has 76 stitches in his head but that is also healing nicely. He does "look" better to me but maybe that is just wishful thinking.
Karen, I loved the wedding photos. And you are correct. Now we'll all know what Ellis will look like when he gets older. He can be a bookend for his good looking daddy!! :cutie:
Good to hear he's moved more Nancy. Thats all good signs and positive thoughts for a great recovery. His body must be responding well.
He's still top of my prayers - (I figured everyone else could move down a peg *** he needed it the most).
And yes, Ellis is the spitting omage of his Daddy - he has my bad temper though:rolleyes1 :lmao:
 Money is always a nice thing!
Probably not a bad idea since we want to make sure that the room will be avail. My guess is, that any of the shutterbugs will be willing to go wherever the action is for some pics so we shouldn't have any problem getting a cameraman.
Money is always great :lmao:
What a great idea! - I never even thought of getting a professional to take a photo - I just intended to snap as we went but thats a much nicer idea - how lovely - a photo of the whole group without anyone missing to take the photo.
PS -NOTE TO THOSE NOT DOING THE WINO SESSION - PLEASE COME ALONG FOR THE PHOTO - IT WILL BE SUCH A SHAME TO HAVE PEOPLE MISSING:sad1:
I saw a couple of posters on the main DCL board that are on our cruise. They, like me, were commenting on upgrades. I invited them over to meet us. I hope they join up.
Lets hope so - I wonder why they havent been on here before:confused3 - what a great bunch of people they have missed:rotfl2:
Steve,
Were those movie reviews from you? Please explain what is "not so good for very young children" in Ratatouille. We're thinking about taking DD age 5 to see it, but won't if something is too scary.
Thanks!
Tina
I thought Ratatoulie was fine for little ones:confused3 - mind you - I was only half watching:rolleyes1
:woohoo: Karen that's exciting :woohoo:
Everytime I hear a truck going through our subdidvision I keep wondering if it could be our documents coming even though I know it is still too early, maybe this week though
I'm just the same - every time I hear a noise in the close I think its the UPS van:rotfl2: - yesterday I opened the door with such a huge grin on my face thinking it was him and it was just the neighbour. My grin deflated in a split second:rotfl2:
How fun is that - getting money in the mail! :cool1:
Iknow - I counted it all on the kitcehn worktop:banana:

Thank you, you did a lot better at explaining that then I did. All I know is my father tells me it is because he was in the army. I have everything through them. Banking, cars, loans, insurance. But I was unaware that they have TAs. We do not have a local branch here. How does that work.
They actually only do cruises...I called them on a whim one day last year and was very happy that they had this service. They added an extra $100 obc for us.:yay:
Loads of UK servicemen current and retired get some real bargain discounts on all sorts of stuff over in the USA simply by showing a warrant card, over here?,nothing, zippee, Christ we have a 7 month wait list for a prosthetic fitting...:sad2: Rant over...:rolleyes1
So sad.....I know that we always ask if a company has military discounts. Unfortunately they don't have miltary rates for this particular cruise.:headache:

Hi everyone! I thought I'd put in our info, too, even though we won't be fortunate enough to be cruising with all of you. If you happen to see Jason or me wandering around (especially Epcot) with silly, tipsy smiles on our faces please stop and say hello. We're harmless and I'm half-blind so I might actually look right though you unless you "get up in my face." ;)
This is probably my last post here - lots to do in the next two weeks before we leave and there's a lot going on outside of the house lately, too. It's been a pleasure being a part of this group since waaaaay back in June 2006 and I'm sorrier than you know at not being to able to meet so many of you and drink some others of you under the table (you know who you are!). You have our best and warmest wishes for a fabulous cruise - we look forward to seeing pictures and reading all about it once you're all back home.

Hi Rose,
Beautiful day here today. I just finished mowing the lawn. Leaves are changing more now. I think they said 25% change so far.I didn't think it would stop raining.
Have a great day!!!
P.S. Some of the ladies I exercise with went to see the body exhibit. They liked it. A little gorry at first but still would reccomend seeing it.
ll
Hi Lynn!
Yes it's a lovely day.:)
Out of work just a bit ago and soon I'm off to girlfriend Judy's house. She's going to alter a couple of my cruise dresses. And I'm bringing over wine and cheese and chocolate!:thumbsup2
Don't want to mow:sad2:
Making 17 year old son do it:thumbsup2
Love the changing leaves! My favorite season!
And still haven't seen the exhibit. Perhaps on the holiday if they're open, on October 8th. Can't wait to see it:woohoo:

Here is the current movie line-up on DCL:
Wild Hogs-- A+ Hilarious!! Must see for us Middle aged "I-feel-like-a-young-buck" guys.
Meet The Robinsons B Lot's of fun.
Bridge to Terabithia Haven't seen it yet. Sounds interesting.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End A- Better than the second!
Ratatouille B+ really enjoyed this one. Not so good for very young children.
The Game Plan B+ Just saw this... Had a real good time.
Invincible Haven't seen this yet.
Underdog! B- Enjoyable. Patrick Warburton was a great Cad.
Not a bad line-up at all.
We have not seen any of those. How sad it that.

That is fantastic news. I am so glad to hear about it. We will keep praying for him.

What a great idea! - I never even thought of getting a professional to take a photo - I just intended to snap as we went but thats a much nicer idea - how lovely - a photo of the whole group without anyone missing to take the photo.
I think we tried this on our last cruise and Disney wanted to charge us for a sitting fee. I didn't plan it, and maybe it's just my bad "old lady" memory, but I thought they did. We just had a CM snap pictures with EVERYONE's camera's. It was Pikey and he was happy to do it. He even posed in a few with us.
PS -NOTE TO THOSE NOT DOING THE WINO SESSION - PLEASE COME ALONG FOR THE PHOTO - IT WILL BE SUCH A SHAME TO HAVE PEOPLE MISSING:sad1:
Mother Goose and Charlie Tuna will be there with bells on!
Hi Nancy
Just goes to show Drs don't always know what they are talking about. I hope your friend isn't in any pain
We're actually going to Mayfair today, we were at Brookfield Square one night this week and Rach didn't find what she was looking for there. Well at least Mayfair has a Disney Store in it so I will get to peek in there ;)
I believe the Dr's are giving him radiation treatments to kill the pain. Since I'm not a Dr. ....nor do I play one on television...I'm not sure if that makes sense to anyone. I'll have to turn that over to Steve or you to tell me. He is dying of lung cancer.
Kristin and Jesse went to Kenosha Outlet Mall today and are now at Gurnee. She is still looking for her formal dress. Did you guys find what you needed??
Nancy what happened tp our sunshine? It's mostly cloudy here now. I guess maybe it is a good day for the mall and a movie.
I think I jinxed it when I said it was nice out before. Sorry. :sad2:
So glad to hear good news Nancy:hug:

You will understand me on this. Scott thought I was crazy. Here goes..........We ate out for lunch today and I ordered a hamburger Plain. It came and when I checked it you could tell they had put cheese on it and just scraped it off before bringing it to me. I told the waiter that I couldn't eat it. He was very nice and took it back and took it off the bill.......but I always feel so bad about being that picky. But oh well...there was no way I would eat it.
If you eat junk together you probably think I am crazy and too demanding. Not really demanding just too picky.

For our Alaska trip it was DH and myself. We sat at a table with 3 other couples. None of us tipped the server, the ast. server or the head server. They were all pretty stinking. It was something discussed by the couples prior to dinner to see if we all felt the same way about the service and we did. Things were horrible on that one. But we did tip the "mint" guy, he was outstanding.
Now speaking from experience the servers do make a decent weekly wage. That most of them send home to family or save because they really can not spend it on the ship. Their tips however are split. So if you tip the server it is split between the server, the dishwashers, and the cooks. In my opinion $25.75, which is the suggested tip is not enough to split with 3 people. We normally go with the base amount set aside and then tip extra if the service is worth it. We always tip the room people extra.
Now the housekeeping people do split their tips with the people behind the sceance that wash the linen.

Hi everyone. As Mike said, we're back. We had a good time.
We paid $$,$$$ for school and they can't spell her name correctly!!!
They did a slide show on a big screen of the student's portfolios starting with they're name.
They spelled our last name Dryer instead of Dyer. It was quiet in there and
Cassie said "out loud"... "Apparently I am now an appliance!" Everyone started laughing. :rotfl2:

I have worked restaurants for years. It is the servers job to ensure that you are pleased and have an enjoyable meal. As a server you never know what someone may be allergic to. So if someone says "I can not eat this" that server better bust their butt to get it corrected right away and it should be standard for any restaurant to take it off your bill, but I know of plenty that do not.

He will never sends anything back, but it's hard to mess up a hamburger. :rotfl2: I swear that's all he ever orders. It's either hamburger, chicken, ham, or steak.
Mike and & went to dinner. He ordered a ham dinner with french fries. The ham came with green beans.

The bean juice was running in to his french fries.

The bean juice was running in to his french fries.

What is the going rate to tip a porter. Is it $1.00 a bag, or $2.00a bag.
Lets see if I have this right. We will have 1 porter from Shuttle to Airline.
1 from Airline to hotel
1 from Bus to Terminal
1 From Turminal to Bus
1 From Bus to Airline
1 From Airline to Shuttle
Does this sound correct.

Very cool drums. I would love to do that.
It was a super workshop. They spent the morning with the history of the drum and the importance and rituals that the drums brought to the tribes. Then they made the drum stick and it is all a chosen process...finding the right skins, sticks, etc that "feels" right for you.
Then they had a drumming circle so they could feel what the drums are meant to bring to you and hear and learn how to play them. Then they were saged to clear any negativity etc. Mother Earth was thanked for the skins and the wood and the tools she provided.
Then they had lunch... a shared pot luck type to bring everyone together.
Then I got there. hahaha Missed lunch. That is ok.. most of them are vegatarian and some of that tofu or veggie crumble stuff is not my favorite.
So then we began making the drums. Oh my hands hurts so bad. You have to pull the wet rawhide so tight and then tie knots. You use plyers to help and someone has to hold it flat. You tie 32 knots on each drum then you wrap the handles as well. Neither of the boys could manuever the ties and Mary was not strong enough to pull and tie. So my hands are a bit swollen right now as I tied all 3 drums.
But the experience was amazing really. Now we wait for a week or so for them to dry completely then we will join the same group for a drum circle.

I don't think you are too picky. If you order it that way, it should come that way or they should make it right. I think the ones that order something and then when it comes say...oh i didn't know it had cheese on it, take it back... are the ones that are irritating.

I didn't know that. That is good to know. I also thought that their only wage was their tips. (No one told me that...I just thought it. What about the people that are over our kids at the camps? Do you tip them at all or bring gifts etc?

I have never cruised with my kids before but I have read that they prefer gifts. Not required but they like things like fruit baskets, phone cards stuff like that.

Don't get me wrong. I am proud of what I do when it all pays off. And I am proud of what I do when I see appreciation for it say from all of you, or DH. It is the kids that really make me feel like I waste my time. I know I should not let them get to me because they are just kids. But hey you know things but sometimes it still gets to me. I am just glad that I have the support of all of you. I am not used to have much support except for my parents and DH. My parents had a real funny way of showing support before my mom got ill, since then there has really been no support from them. I am so used to doing everything for myself that I really don't wait around for others to help me. Then when they do help I get mad at them.

Good morning all,
I'm sitting here at work, and it's very quiet. Figured I'd check on my DIS friends to see how everyone's doing.
Robin - I'm so very sorry to hear about the baby.
I feel the same way about the APL early rotation...when I requested I didnt realize that we woudl have a 530 dinner each night. that is pretty early. I am afraid that the kids will be having too much fun and will not want to get dressed for dinner.

I was actually glad that there was only two I hadn't seen. Less temptation that way. Kids movies are the only ones I can see nowadays.
I'm sorry I should have been more clear. Nothing Scary! The adult humor wasn't even that bad. The movie had some very slow spots that did not hold my daughter's (3) attn very well. My son (6) at times was bored. (overall, he loved it, my daughter--not so much. (of course there were no princessess in the movie.)
Theater.
I think I will try to take in that terabithia movie if it fits in with my schedule. Otherwise theres always DVD.
If you see Tarabithia - take Kleenex...If you dont know the story, it can shock you as its a very sad story. I took my 3 to see it in the theatre and all 3 of them were crying and so was I. My 2 little ones who were 7 and 4 at the time were crawling up me and just sobbing into my chest. It was very very sad.

Today I was so mad at Disney....I called a couple of nights ago and booked 2 rooms for us for October 18th at All stars Music. I noticed some people staying at Pop Century so I did some research and decided to change my hotel.
SO I called them today to ask them to do that and the call was a disastre. Came out that our names were not correct on the reservation so they had to fixt hat and change the hotel....he put me on hold several times. At the 20 minute mark of the call (I have a timer so I know I wasnt exaggerating) he put me on hold again. Came back after 13 minutes to ask me how old Vanessa was...I blew up asking why it was taking so long to do somethign that seemed pretty straight forward.
In the end I told him that I was going to end the call but I wanted him to finish fixing my reservation and then to call me to confirm it was done - Guess What - NO CALL!
So now I will have to call in tomorrow and see if it was completed.

Maybe some of our medical professionals can give us some more insight.
Sounds like it is hitting hardest in the dirtier parts of these countries. Touristy areas usually have adequate sewage and trash removal. Probably low probability. A co-worker of mine got Denague once. She was on a missions trip. Mosquito repellant is not a bad idea if you are going to be out of doors at dawn or dusk on land. We will probably be onboard during these times Mosquitoes do not go far on the ocean.
Ok. California people help me out here. I spent alot of my summers growing up in Garden Grove. That is not that far away for DL is it. I don't remember the drive being all that long.
Very close. Actually, some of the restaurants that we freq near Disneyland are actually in Garden Grove
My brother told me that too. I was thinking of not taking the kids and making it a date movie with Laura.
Hello
How are you?
Suggested tips are
Server $25.75 per person
Ast. Server $18.75 per person
Head Server $6.50
Stateroom person $25.25 per person
I actually allotted a bit more just in case I get exceptional service.

We love Joe's Crab Shack. Unfortuately, it is not all that inexpensive. It's on Harbor Blvd in Garden Grove. But as you get in that vicinity, you will find a lot of fast food places that are not inflated in price as well as a Denny's that does not have the inflated prices of the one across the street from DL. Haus of Pizza gets pretty good reviews as well. All on Harbor.

DCA? Yes, you can. This park is usually much less crowded than DL on any given day. Wait times never are counted in the hours. Make sure that you allot time for the Alladin show. It is wonderful. Soarin' over California can be a bit of a wait. Grizzly River Rapids is a wait if it is hot otherwise it is a walk on (and I believe that it is one of DCA's few E-ticket rides.) The only thing worth going to the Boardwalk area is the Rollercoaster and the Ferris wheel. Everything else is pretty much State Fair kind of stuff. Do Turtle Talk with Crush it's pretty cool.

After a day or two in the hustle and bustle of DL, DCA is a welcome respite. It is much more laid back. Some areas are downright beautiful (Near the GC Hotel) On a hot day you can leave DL for a few hours in the late afternoon when it is hottest, and hit some of the cool down areas of the park.

So what is an E-ticket, is that the same as fast pass?
That is a reference to a bit of Disneyland History. It used to be that you paid for entrance into the park then you would buy ticket books that gave you passes onto the rides. The books were populated with 5 different tickets lettered from A to E. The A tickets were many and would let you onto things like the Bus that runs down mainstreet. Then there were B,C, and D tickets that allowed you on progressively more popular rides. But in every Ticket book there were only one or two E-tickets. The E-tickets were the ones you bought the book for. Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. The Ticket books have passed into history but the term E-ticket Ride has become a part of American lexicon. It refers to the coolest, scariest or fastest rides around. That, or a drive through the mountains with my mom driving.

I agree with Steve, definately can do in 1 day. Alladin is great, Soarin is great also and a fast pass. Boardwalk not that great, probably why they are revamping it. They do have a kids area now, but I haven't been there (my kids are teens). There is one place that has a princess meal as well.
Another place that is good to eat is Mimi's Cafe on Harbor by the HOJO. Not fast food cheap, but affordable, and great food. Just driving south on Harbor you are bound to find something.

I have never cruised with my kids before but I have read that they prefer gifts. Not required but they like things like fruit baskets, phone cards stuff like that.
The only reason I knew all that is because I got involved with a server on my Hawaii trip and I was looking at working on a cruise ship so he told me all the pros and cons. I even got to see crew quarters.
Now that would have been too cool. That is something most people don't get to see.

Well i am glad you realize that we all think you are amazing. And as for the kids, when they are out there doing it on their own and see how hard it is to do all of that and make it look easy, they will then know how much you have always done for them. Can't wait to meet you... I am hoping to get some more great ideas..

I feel the same way about the APL early rotation...when I requested I didnt realize that we woudl have a 530 dinner each night. that is pretty early. I am afraid that the kids will be having too much fun and will not want to get dressed for dinner.
Well most people are leaving to go get ready because the late diners are doing the show first and get dressed and go from there to dinner... so even with late dining you are getting ready about then.

Not so much easier. I drive everyone in my home nuts. Then when I drop the ball with something I really get down on myself for it. I can guarantee that I will forget something this trip and it will really get to me. I will be all upset with myself and get depressed. Not fun at all.

You deserve some cheers! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
In all serious now, I'm sure your family appreciates all that you do, even if they don't say it. I do that sometimes too, so I know how you feel.
Having said that, if you get depressed about forgetting something for the cruise, you'd better come find me! I'll treat you to one of these strawberry smoothies everyone's been talking about and cheer you up!
Edited to add: By the way, in the process of trying to type this one post, DS asked for breakfast (toast with pb&j and milk), then while in the kitchen I found that the cat had "urped" up on the floor, so after I got breakfast for DS, I had to clean up the cat mess, and my coffee got cold, so I had to microwave it...I know how you feel!

That sounds like a great experience. (except you poor hands:headache: )

It has a good feeling about it...and of course the Boardwalk fairground.

I thought it was great! I thought it was odd that the server gets more than the stateroom person... I am not sure what all the server does before we get there but I know the stateroom person does soooo much.
I think I jinxed it when I said it was nice out before. Sorry. :sad
The cntkg1 team is doing some serious packing tonight. Not everything though. Luckily, we don't have the kids to worry about when it comes to packing. They're on their own.
Anyone willing to place a friendly bet on Kristin forgetting her underwear AGAIN??? She's famous for it. I do have a funny story to tell but I don't want to be sensored.

Doesn't sound like much but it does add up. A family of four should budget a minimum of $305. If you didn't budget for that, you would find it a bit end of cruise expense. I sacked away about $500. so that I would have some leeway for tipping over the minimum if I thought someone deserved it. Plus as I began to add up last night. I have a lot of bell boys to tip. I think I underestimated that amount! Especially since I told Laura to use more not less luggage for this trip (I usually tell her the opposite.)
I thought it was $1.00
yep, that's what I am planning on.

So we could stay at one of them and the park in one of the parking structures?
Sure. We stayed at the Hyatt one year (got it through priceline). It was just a short drive down Harbor. We drove to the park every day, but they did have a shuttle.

It sounds very interesting Susan. What a great experience! I hope your hands feel better pixiedust:

So I really don't need an extra ticket for the ride, it is just a name that stuck with it.

Scott loves Mimi's. I think I might know where you are talking about. It is like in the HOJO parking lot.

Now that would have been too cool. That is something most people don't get to see.
Ya you are not supposed to see it but he snuck me down there. I that it was real interesting. That and it was an older ship so things were very different between crew and guest. Let alone the elevators for guests where still set up that each elevator only hit certain floors. Like in Titanic.

Carrie you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You should focus on ALL the good that you do, and there is lots of it, not on the things you forget. We all make mistakes and forget things  :flower3:
Not so much easier. I drive everyone in my home nuts. Then when I drop the ball with something I really get down on myself for it. I can guarantee that I will forget something this trip and it will really get to me. I will be all upset with myself and get depressed. Not fun at all.

Love the drums!!! :thumbsup2
Good morning Carrie and Lori. I guess everyone is getting ready for church. I thought I'd drop in and say hi. I have way too much to get done today, but we're spending the day with Michael, Courtney and Addison. After the last couple of days... they could use a little fun.
They have accepted the loss of the baby and are doing very well.
Thanks for all the well wishes.

I always allot extra too for the servers/stateroom host that are excellent. These people work very hard!
Hello
How are you?
Suggested tips are
Server $25.75 per person
Ast. Server $18.75 per person
Head Server $6.50
Stateroom person $25.25 per person
I actually allotted a bit more just in case I get exceptional service.

Wow... that doesn't seem like very much... is that daily? Help me someone...
No from what I am reading in the passporters it is not daily. But I figured it out that if you took their suggested daily amount it would be a few dollars more. Here is what they suggest
Server $3.75 daily, or $11.00 for a 3 night cruise, $14.75 for a 4 night cruise, $25.75 for a 7 night cruise
Asst. Server $2.75 daily, or $8.00 for a 3 night cruise, $10.75 for a 4 night cruise, for a 7 night cruise
Head Server $1.00 daily, $2.75 for 3 night, $3.75 for 4 night, $6.50 for a 7 night
Stateroom person $3.60 daily, $10.75 for a 3 night, $14.50 for a 4 night, $25.25 for a 7 night.
Hope this helps.

Hi Cheryl, (Sorry, I didn't realize you were on.)
Same here... If they do a horrible job, they get the alloted amount. We never stiff anyone, regardless of how bad their service is.

Carrie we have been to the Disneyland Resort twice, June 2003 and June 2006. Both times I read about how people do not like California Adventure but we kept an open mind and we went in 2003 and we really enjoyed it so I alloted time to go again in 2006 and we still really enjoyed it! (alot of people don'e likethe Animal Kingdom at WDW either but we do :confused3 ) It seemed to be less crowded than the DL park and we thought it was a very pretty park. One of Rachel's favorite rides is The Tower of Terror so we can't miss that and Al and I love Soarin'! CA has different things to offer than DL park and a different atmosphere just likethe 4 different parks at WDW are all different too. I recommend giving it a try.
everyone that has been to California Adventure. Can you please give me you honest opinion?

Carrie,
I am perpetually in awe of all you get done in a day...that's some hard work!!
Thank you so much. I know that DH appreciates all that I do and he tells me on a daily basis. It is just hard because I know the kids would appreciate it if thier mom was not out to sabatage everything I do. Ok enough of that.
I am having the same kind of morning. Mac got up at about 5:30. It is a daddy day for her but he was not home from work yet and still needs to sleep some today. So she asked for breakfast. I told her to pick it out and I would make it for her. I went to start my computer and she came to me with a box of chocolate and vanilla rice krispees. Only problem was the box was upside down and she left a trail of cereal from the pantry in the kitchen all the way to me in the computer room. So I had to vac the computer room and sweep the kitchen. Like I need to do that at 5:30 in the morning.

Good morning Robin I've been popping in off and on trying to get caught up here and get some other things done at the same time.
We are the same, if they do a horrible job we still give them the alloted amount. If they give great service they get extra. One of our cruises our dining room head server never appeared at our table until the last night, it just killed us to give him that tip because he didn't earn it but we gave it to him anyway and made comments on the comment card. The cruise last Oct. our head server was awesome (as was all the staff) he came to our table nightly and actually stopped to talk for awhile each night and you could also see him going through the dining room helping the servers to make sure everything was going smoothly and efficiently, he got extra.

Robin have a good visit with Michael, Courtney and Addison :grouphug: Glad to here they are doing well and I'm sure part of that is because of you and Mike and the time you spend withthem and the support you give :grouphug: Somehow the other "stuff" always seems to get done.

I know that is how I should be. But it is hard to change. I am better then I used to be about being hard on myself. Thanks to the kids and all the court stuff and custody stuff that has helped me change but when it comes to trips I am still very hard on myself.

Susan, great pics of your boys and their drums! What a great experience :thumbsup2
Carrie, we loved a restaurant called Carrows. We fell in love with it in Las Vegas and found one just down the street from DL. They make great food (B,L & D) and are pretty cheap! It's like a better alternative to Denny's :thumbsup2 It's been over 2 years since we've been there, hopefully it's still there!
Last cruise we tipped the suggested amount, service was so-so. First cruise we tipper over and above for everyone, service was phenomenal!
Speaking of $$$$....Rob just picked up some US $$$ the other day and I am IMPRESSED!! You guys finally got smart and put some COLOUR in your money!! :woohoo: I remember one time down in FLorida we were talking to a couple who had never seen Canadian money and thought it was hilarious that all of our bills are different colour. :confused3 I thought it was ridiculous that all the american bills were the same colour!!! ::yes:: You know how many times I almost shelled a one hundred dollar bill for a porter or room service staff??? :rolleyes1
It's not as coloured as our money but it's a HUGE improvement!! :woohoo:

On my first cruise, we had no idea of the need to tip the staff. What a surprise that last day was. Of course, I was pretty naive to the whole cruise thing. My brother and I were able to just scrape together the money to tip. We had to Credit Card our way home. On the next cruise I was more savy. Having had to support myself through college on tips alone (my salary was a joke) so I am very sensitive to the matter.

I miss my greenbacks! They seem to be changing the appearance of the American money every 6 months. Frequently that means that they end up having to reporgram all the machines to recognize the new money. That means that you are having your money spit back out at you for about two months while they catch up.
