The Magic should be setting sail as I type on its way to Europe.

What this means is the thread ahead of us is gone for 2 weeks. We are currently just over 1,100 posts behind them. That is only a little over 78 posts a day between now and when they come back to catch them.

I think we can do it.

Our next site will be to catch the thread with 14,000 posts.

Thank you. It was a real hard month that is for sure. I am the only child, so I felt all the decsions were on me. But we made it through. I never realize how much my mother means to me until this happened. I spent alot of time thinking back on the years we have had together and realized that the things I thought were stupid back then are the things a remember the most now. Mackenzie is "my only child" so I am very thankful that she has gotten to spend time with her grandma and even her great grandma. It is just really hard for her to understand why grandma is not watching her every week like she used to and why she has to go to daycare now. But I know some day she will understand.

I too am an only child, its a stressfull thing, when things go wrong.

Just try and do your best, its hard at times, but be gentle with yourself, you can only do your best.

Sorry, had to run after I posted that the Magic left the US. Had to take DS to church (Suz is scrapbooking all day/night today - an annual thing) and then we went out to dinner. Stopped at a couple of stores and then I got him some ice cream. Now I'm putting Air Buddies in for him. I'll do some work while he's watching.

Since there hasn't been any post in about 1 1/2 hours, I'm assuming everyone else is off for the night.

Just came in from planting tomatoes, beans, and peppers...

We can't plant our garden until Memorial Day weekend. I don't think we've had our last frost yet.

Brenda, what kinds of tomatoes do you plant? We do Yellow plum, yellow grape, red cherry, red grape, red plum. Then tons of cucumbers which Chuck and my daddy built a trelice for, zucchini, banana peppers, and bell peppers.

My parents do onions, garlic, beans, carrots, peppers, and squash. Then we just trade with each other.

Of course, all of the veggies are strictly organic. :cutie:

This year my SIL and I are going to be part of an Organic Market. There will be lots of trading with other gardeners with the opportunity to sell. It's not like a Farmer's Market though. We just drop off our veggies and someone else trades or sells them. If we make any money, they'll let us know.

Maybe after 4-5 years of this, I can afford another Disney Cruise. :rotfl2:

Jay is the garden guy - I just dig holes where he tells me to! But I think we planted regular tomatoes, roma, and cherry.

Two kinds of spicy peppers, beans, carrots, snow peas, cucumbers, radishes...and stinky gold marigolds to help keep the rabbits out of the garden.

I don't till our until Memorial Day weekend. Suz doesn't plant until then either.

My parents use to start tomatoes in the house/basement in the spring.

My sister has a greenhouse attached to her house and she starts really early.

Nothing beats a ripe tomato off the vine. :thumbsup2

Some 10 days ago while on holiday in Portugal a little girl of 3 was taken out of her hotel bed while her mum and dad sat eating a meal in a restaurant not 100 a hundred yards away and has not been seen since, she had her fourth birthday yesterday....We have wall to wall TV coverage over here and someone has put up a $3m dollar reward for her safe return,i still fear this will not be enough as the abduction was clearly no "smash and grab" operation it was well planned and well executed by someone/s who's clearly taken time to plan this,my heart breaks to think of what that child is or WAS going through at the hands of theses animals....:sad2:

ps...And please before we condemn them for leaving them (her twin brother and sister were with her in the room at the time)let me just say as parents we make hundreds if not thousands of decisions on behalf of our children we can't be expected to get them all right all the time as were only human, are we not?...:sad2:

I did that once. I had 6 numbers over 2 lines. Too bad you needed at least 4 in one line to win anything.

I was one number short in one line once on a daily lotto we have here. It would have been $250,000, but instead, the 5 number prize is only $500. What a rip.

If anyone cares, here is the Magic leaving FL for the Med. (stole this link of the "live from" thread - thank V-Man).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IfG1gzg_9I

At they end of the video, you will hear a lady say "is it my imagination or does it not look that full". Sorry, but when the boat leaves 20 minutes late and doesn't get out of the channel until almost 5:45, at least 1/3 of the people are at dinner already with another 1/6 getting ready. That is a total of 1/2 the cruisers.

GREAT NEWS! We got the house!!! They called early this morning and said that they liked us and weren't going to show it to anyone else, they want us to have the house!!! So, we are trying to work out a rent-to-own thing and should be moved in by mid-June. Rob and I spent the night packing and organizing. No elliptical tonight but I sure got a workout getting packed!!

Cheryl, LOVE the photos!! We have pics at DL with the C and R :) Also, loved the La Jolla photo! I was in that exact same spot about 2 years ago. Aren't those seals hilarious!!?? Rob works for an RF company that's based in San Diego and we went there to sign his contract and we stayed in La Jolla and I fell in LOVE with it!! I have some photos on my website as I couldn't stop taking photos it was so gorgeous LOL!

Cass congratulations on getting the house  :cheer2: good luck with all the packing!

We loved La Jolla! The seals were so much fun to watch and what a beautiful area that is. We were staying about 15 min. from there and we went back there twice during our 3 night stay because we enjoyed it so much. I hope we have the opportunity to get there again in the future!

RE THE DIS MEET AT THE TERMINAL ETC

Perhaps we could just make a note on a post (like Lindy did for wine tasting) of who intends to get there 10am, noon, 2pm etc and then we can know roughly who might be at the terminal at the same time as us and look out for them and then have the sailaway party to meet up with others who arrived at a different time. For those of us who are on early sitting the sailaway meet might be a short one, but at least we'll get to say a quick hello. Lovely Lindy is organising the wine thing for later in the week too so that will be another chance to get together *** I think most of us are attending that.

Karen. neil and Ellis will be getting there early at 10am (unless the shuttle traffic stops us).

Another idea for a DIS meet on that first day would be to meet around 3:00 in the Promenade lounge or by the Mickey pool so the kids could swim. A couple of the cruises we have been on we met at the Promenade lounge at at around 3:00 and that worked great and then everyone headed back to our rooms in time to get our lifevests for the safety drill. Just another idea.

Rentokill came out and caught the spider, from behind our cooker.
It was really quite small, ...................I felt a bit silly!

But the man said the small ones from South Africa can give a bad bite!

:scared1: :scared1:

Tescos called and confirmed the grapes were from scilily ( Sp?) Italy, so no need to worry about a poisonious spider. They confirmed the white webbing was a spiders egg nest ( yuck !)

At least spider has gone :thumbsup2

Good Morning Everyone

I have a question about tipping. I know that we tip everyone on the last night. But do we still give them an envelope of cash or is it automatically charged to our room and we pay it off at the end of the cruise?

We have always tipped cash on the last night. You can give them cash or charge it to your room.

Continued prayers for this little girl and her family!

ps...And please before we condemn them for leaving them (her twin brother and sister were with her in the room at the time)let me just say as parents we make hundreds if not thousands of decisions on behalf of our children we can't be expected to get them all right all the time as were only human, are we not?...:sad2:

How very true Chris! Being a parent is the hardest job I have ever had!

I did that once. I had 6 numbers over 2 lines. Too bad you needed at least 4 in one line to win anything.

I was one number short in one line once on a daily lotto we have here. It would have been $250,000, but instead, the 5 number prize is only $500. What a rip.

Al likes to buy lottery tickets but then he never checks the numbers to see if won :confused3 We could be millionaires and not even know it :lmao:

And thanks for the good wishes Cheryl. One good thing about having the CT before the colonoscopy is that we already know there are lots of areas of inflammation - now we'll find out how bad they really are and then we'll figure out which steroid I'm going to start taking after we come back from WDW. ;)

Not changing drugs before the trip, no way! Nothing is going to stop me from eating and drinking myself silly later this month. :thumbsup2

Nancy,

How was Paul Bunyon's and your breakfast adventure?

What did you eat?

Did you do some shopping in the Dells?

Find anything you were looking for? ;)

Paul's was great! I had pancakes and potatoes. Not really worth the price we had to pay but it is tradition. Chuck ate everything else...pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, two donuts and pot of coffee.

No shopping except, I did look around for an item I'm getting desparate for. No luck! I think they're discontinued. I even tried Ebay with no luck.

I've come across a place out of Los Angeles before that sells boys for around $40 (I think).

They really sell little boys for $40.00??? :confused3

So Brenda, what's for lunch? Yellow and orange jello? Clear chicken broth? Remember, nothing red or green today. I really did think about you this morning at breakfast. Those preps are pure h*ll aren't they? I hope all goes well tomorrow for you. Do you sleep during yours? I did and would have it no other way. I don't need to be watching that on a screen and listening to what the doctor or the nurses have to say. No siree BillyBob.

Think everyone else has answered this one.

Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. I had my nephew and his son over today, plus my neice. It was great to get together and chat.

I just had some chicken broth washed down with a bottle of water... mmmm, tasty.

The prep is always the worst part. That and not being able to drink anything after midnight. I hate that because I always want water.

And yes...I sleep. I couldn't see anything anyway since they won't let me keep my glasses. ;)

And then for the rest of the day I'm like an amnesiac - usually after making Jay buy everything on the menu at McDonalds I go back to bed for six hours and sleep it off.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I hope all the moms here have a great day!

I think we are going to attempt going to the Cheesecake Factory for a late lunch/early dinner. I am a little afraid of what the wait will be for a table though :scared1:

I would be jealous but I've just eaten half a chocolate cheesecake with cream at my mother in laws;)

Sounds a great idea - our plan is to get to that pool once onboard - apparantly its the only time it'll be empty:confused3

Here in AZ we have heard nothing about this. I have seen a few people post about this little girl. Can someone please fill me in.

I think Chris explained it very well. Its sooooo sad. Im often crying in the breakfast room, as I watch the TV. Praying for news.

Congrats on Number 1,000.

Yes Karen well done:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness. I don't know what to say except that I will pray for her safe return. Do they have any leads? Do they know why the little girl was taken and not her brother and sister? I can not beleive that this has not made the news out here. Where was the family from? :worried:

Her Family are from the UK, they were on holiday and she was takne from her hotel room, thankfully the scum that took her spared her brother and sister ( twins ages 18 months old) No really new leads, it was her 4th b day yesterday. Lots of reward money being out up by celebreties etc, however it sickens me to say, I dont think there will be a happy ending 10 days on. Im still hoping though:grouphug:

We have brewery tours here in Milwaukee along with a few other tours you could do, plus the Brewers (best team in baseball - but not too much longer, they lost again today). Then there are the Dells, which is really cool. Lots of water parks and nature things up there. You could couple it with a Chicago trip very easily. Come in Summer though when it's warm.

The dam is great. They are rebuilding the road so you don't have to drive over it anymore. So I can not wait to see it when it is finished. We live in a city called Mesa that is to the East of Phoenix.

Jeff thick Question how do I RE vote..... im not toooo bothered by a mickey pool meet up would be best for me.

I closed the last poll, so just go and vote in the new one. If you don't like the new option, just vote as you did before.

We just need to have a meet before Monday because that will be a good Tag day and we are ending Tag on Thursday.

That is why the last option is Sunday morning before we dock in Key West. There is actually a lot of time before we dock that morning. Everyone is up on Deck 9 or 10 anyways watching us sail in. It really would be a perfect time.

Heres the news so far on missing Maddie :grouphug:

By Peter Griffiths

LONDON (Reuters) - Celebrities and business leaders have put up a 1.5 million pound reward to help find Madeleine McCann, the four-year-old who disappeared from a Portuguese holiday resort 10 days ago.

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, Virgin boss Richard Branson and Topshop chief Philip Green are among a host of public figures to have offered money for her safe return.

"We are praying for Madeleine's safe return and can't imagine what Kate and Gerry (McCann) are going through at the moment," Green said in a statement released by the News of the World, which itself offered 250,000 pounds.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, England cricketer Michael Vaughan, Everton chairman Bill Kenwright and Ann Summers boss Jacqueline Gold also offered money.

Last week, Scottish health spa owner Stephen Winyard put up one million pounds and a family friend has offered 100,000 pounds.

Gerry McCann said: "Anything that can be done to publicise that Madeleine is missing and help with the search is very welcome."

Madeleine, who turned four on Saturday, is feared kidnapped after she vanished from her bed in the Praia da Luz holiday resort on the Algarve on May 3.

At a church service on Saturday, Gerry McCann said her disappearance had unleashed a "tidal wave" of devastation on the family.

"Today we should be celebrating the fourth birthday of our daughter Madeleine," he said. "Instead we have had to remember what a normal, beautiful, vivacious, funny, courageous and loving little girl that we are missing today."

A new photograph of Madeleine has been released in an attempt to help the investigation. It shows a distinctive dark blemish in her blue right eye."It runs from her pupil into her iris at the bottom of her pupil. Whoever has her cannot hide or cover that up," Gerry's brother John McCann told the Sunday Mail, a Scottish tabloid.

What day/island is everyone most looking forward too?

Mine I think would have to be Grand Cayman.

JLDSMD
05-13-2007, 06:01 PM
Is everyone going to the shows or are some people who have been on DCL skippng because they are the same as last time?

We've skipped the last 2 cruises because we saw them all the first cruise, but I think DS will be into them this time so we will try again. We will probably skip the opening night because it is the same everytime. I'm hoping for a new comedian this time - seen Gary Delana (sp?) too many times and the act didn't change. Don't get me wrong, he is funny.

JLDSMD
05-13-2007, 06:02 PM
Any restaurant or nightly theme anyone really looking forward too?

Ours would be Pirate Night. Always a fun night and DS says he wants to go up for the fireworks. We went up only on one cruise and that time it was raining. Still had the party though. Just get too tired by that time of night. I think they have a dessert buffet that night after the party.

05-13-2007, 06:04 PM
So, are the adults planning any nights out in the night club area? What are most people thinking of doing - Sports Bar, Jazz Lounge, or what ever is in Rockin Bar D?

Suz and I usually hit the Jazz Lounge, but if something good is going on in Rockin Bar D, we go there.

JLDSMD
05-13-2007, 06:08 PM
Suz wants to spend more time in the Quiet Cove area this trip. DS did less pool and more club time this last cruise, which surprised us. If it is the same this time, we'll be by the adult pool much more. Very relaxing. We love sitting on the edge in the couple of inches of water.

Hello everyone!

Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers....you know who you are! ;)

Lindy Loo, thanks for the Mother's Day wishes  We had a good day together all three of us. And we gave Kira cereal for the first time ever this morning! Pictures to follow of course :upsidedow

Karen, the white background on the ship is the same as the other lines but the photographer is always nice and patient and they usually give you idea for poses. Our fav pic was the pirate one of us with Rob on top of me. It was the photographers idea actually. It was funny, we were doing some poses and she said in her cute little accent..."do you want to get on top of her?" :lmao: Rob replies..."Heck yeah! But I thought this was a family cruise!" :scared1:  So, take your time, get several poses so you have lots to choose from! And if they are doing photopass this cruise, then even better! No wasted pics!

We did the DIS meet by the Mickey Pool at 3pm last cruise and it was MUCH better than our previous cruise at the sailaway party. There was too much going on at the sailaway!

But I think we should have a sort of "leader" of the party, someone very extroverted and isn't shy! Someone who can introduce people to get things started. For my last cruise we talked for months and months on the thread and then we all got there and everyone was too shy to really talk. I only got to speak to about 3 DISers, the rest kinda stayed in the shade watching everyone else. Talking via a keyboard and in person are two VERY different things...I know that I felt a little shy at first too. :guilty:

So...any volunteers?? (think Hauted Mansion! )

JLDSMD

Suz found all her stuff on Key West Friday night and was going through it. She found something regarding the Blonde Giraffe for Key Lime Pie. She wants to try that place this time. We did Kermit's last time. It was good too. We did it because the tour operator said it was the best. We'll judge this time.

Suz loves the frozen pie on a stick covered with chocolate.

Jeff,

Looking forward to those comfy blue chairs on deck 4!!! We watched the sunset everyday and just relaxed there! Although with early dining, we may miss the sunsets this cruise :sad1:

Depending on how Kira takes being in Flounders, our plan is to drop her off after the show for 2-3 hours every night so we can enjoy the adult shows in Rockin Bar D. Rob and I love to dance and we don't get to do that much.

And I plan on being in the Quiet Cove hot tub every night around 11:30pm. :woohoo: My fave part of the cruise was soaking in that tub for 20 mins before dipping myself in that pool right before I go to bed!! THAT is VACATION to me

I think any of the bars will make you a flavored martini. Just seems more appropriate in Sessions (the jazz bar).

For slow dancing, you won't beat Sessions. Depending on how much older he is than you, you might be able to get him to 70's night. Suz, who is older than me (I never let her forget that) but still graduated in the 80's but is big into the 70's. I'm an 80's man (music that is).

Hi all! Just thought I'd pop in quickly. Been extremely busy around here. Had Katie's 5th b'day party yesterday. We had this party so friends & family could celebrate as we'll be in WDW for her actual b'day next Sunday.

All last week I've been cleaning house, getting ready for the party and getting ready for our departure this week. Super busy at work too. Still have a million more things to do, laundry and packing mostly now.

Just noticed the last page I'd read was 500. Now we're on 549! How on earth am I going to read 50 pages? I'll probably have to read over 200 by the time we get back!

Gotta run for now. Have to go pay some bills, and Sopranos and the Tudors are on tonight, so I doubt I'll be back on this evening. I'll try to stop by before we leave!

I thought they cancelled the Bridge Tours. We'll be "touring" the Rainforest on 'at sea' days.

:yay:

Ok so my DH wants to know what year you graduate and what type of lawyer you are.

I graduated HS in '86.

I am not a lawyer, just play one on t.v. and the DIS. :rotfl: Actually I'm a CPA. I work as the Controller for a company.

have a good dinner.

Thanks. I just went and picked up Chinese. With DS getting sick this afternoon, we figured it wasn't wise to go out. Don't know what would happen.

What, no one is around tonight?

Did all the posting today wear you out?

I just hope all these posts don't scare the people who haven't posted in a while or don't post that often away.

I don't think Brett will go anywhere.
Been out of the loop for a few days, took me forever to catch up. Will post more tomorrow, when my eyes aren't so blurry.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. Hope everyone's day was good. I had a beautiful day, even though it was rainy, we went to Spiderman 3. Good movie, then for a nice supper.

They might have since 9/11. I know my father with be very disappointed if they did. :sad2:
I did not know they offer tours of the Rainforest. I will be on that one. I am interested in figuring this thing out. I like the spa stuff. Secretly hoping my DH will splurge for a massage for me:rolleyes1

He seems to be doing better. Just had a case of the "runs" (sorry about the graphic answer) in the middle of the afternoon.

He ate rice for dinner and one piece of the chicken from the sweet and sour chicken. His spirits hadn't changed, so I don't think he's too sick.

No he is not, he works for a company called ON Semiconductor. It is pretty much like Motorola. He does line production. He graduated in 89.

Come to think of it my parents have taken several cruises since 9/11 and they have all had the bridge tour on them. So I guess that is one of those things we will find out when we get there.

Wait, he graduated in 89, was that HS? You said he is 7 years older than you, so you graduated in 96, making you only 29?

Boy I feel old.

Seems to be going around. I know the our DS had it about 2 weeks ago, and I have had it a few times in the last few weeks. Not really sick, but definatly don't want to go to far from the bathroom.

I know they had bridge tours when we sailed in January. I'll have to look at the Navigators.

Yes that was HS. As for college he spent 6 year at a 2 year college and still does not have a degree. Yes I am only 29, I will be 30 on the cruise. I will proabably be the young one out of the group. But your are not old, if I figure right you are only 3 years older then Scott, whom will be 37 on the cruise.

I think that is the only thing my father is wanting to do the whole cruise. I actually think we are draging him on this one. So we will see how much he actually does.

Jeff, why is your green light never on? :confused3

I, like Jeff, am rather introverted until I get to know the person. I am NOT a people person...ask anyone who knows me :lmao: I would NOT be good at introducing people and getting things started at the meet, trust me!

Here's Kira having some cereal for the first time...

So, did anyone decide on the margarita tasting?? Or is it just the wine tasting that you are all doing? If I can drink (no meds) then I would like to join you on the margarita tasting!

Did you get married right out of HS?

Cass,

Love the pics of Kira. How did she take to the cereal? Did she like it?

I haven't heard about the Margarita tasting. Unfortunately, in looking at the Navigators, it is Margarita and Tequilla. I am NOT a straight tequilla drinker, so if that is included, I'm out.

So how did her first time with cereal go? She is so pretty. I love kids at that age. As for the maragrita tasting count me out. I can not do tequila at all. Wine is more my pace or martini's.

I think they have a Martini tasting as well. DW would be all over that one.

It seems like we are earning the title of "Konked Kruisers" for sure. :rotfl:
