I'm not 40 until next January dear.
Did you get married right out of HS?
Sorry did not mean to age you. No I did not get married until I was 24. I on the other hand completed 2 2 year degrees before getting married.

I think they have a Martini tasting as well. DW would be all over that one.
It seems like we are earning the title of "Konked Kruisers" for sure. :rotfl:
Yes my DH said that we would fit in real well, he just said that he is an:drinking1 equal oppertunity drinker

Yes I did as soon as it became available

Nothing much. They don't seem to help me with anything. I got an AA, right out of high school, and then I got an AGS while doing nursing school which I never completed.

I would never say a degree is "nothing much". It is an accomplishment.
Are you looking to get into nursing? What is an AGS?

Well out her a AA or AGS really do not help you get a career. I agree that they are great accomplishments. An AGS is an associates of general studies. No I have no disire to go into nursing. That is something I thought would make my parents proud of me. After a year I figure out that I can not handle it because I get to attached to people.

So Jeff, explain this playing a lawyer on tv and dis thing.
Just a joke.
Do you remember back (wait, you are probably too young :rotfl: ) when they'd have commercials on and since real doctors can't do endorsements (well at least they couldn't back when this was on) you'd have a guy come on and say "I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV". Like that has any influence. :rotfl2:
I'm playing lawyer. So if you want the "actor's" advice on your medical needs, you can ask me your law issues. :rotfl2:
You don't have any questions, do you?
I thought about going on to law school way back when, but didn't want any more school. I probably would have gone into contract/corporate law. Now I'm too old. I really should have been an actuary. I've always been really good in Math. My dad was an engineer (computers) and so is my brother (production). It runs in the family. DS is really good in math as well.

Boy that is a loaded question you are talking to someone that has married a guy that has a completly nuts ex wife and we have been in and out of court for roughly 4 years now and getting ready to go back again.

We have really good friends like that, but it isn't his ex, just a person he had a kid with. Bunch of crap and the courts let her get away with it.

Been there done that. As long as she is the mother she has all the rights. I find it absolutly funny that about a year and a half ago she took us to court to get full custody of the kids and won. Supposidly for the best interest of the kids. Well now the oldest is old enough to petition the court and she has decided that living with us is what is best for her. I just wish court did not cost so much money to keep going to. You know those lawyers. They just suck the money right out of you. :rotfl:

Let's actually talk about the cruise.
What day/island is everyone most looking forward too?
Mine I think would have to be Grand Cayman.
All of them *** they are all new to me, but if we get on the pirate ship an then seven mile beach then Gran Cayman sounds like a winner.
How many of you are looking forward to walking/relaxing on Deck 4? I've walked around it a couple of times, but never just sat on one of the comfy chairs and relaxed. DS wants to play shuffle board once this time.
Whats shuffle board?
Anyone planning any ship tours? Galley, Bridge or other?
We did the Bridge on our 3-nighter, pretty good. I'd like to do the Galley sometime, but don't want to give up my 2 precious days at sea. Maybe on the repo.
Some of the classes look cool too.
I like the idea of these, bridge and galley:thumbsup2 - how do you book them?
Karen, the white background on the ship is the same as the other lines but the photographer is always nice and patient and they usually give you idea for poses. Our fav pic was the pirate one of us with Rob on top of me. It was the photographers idea actually. It was funny, we were doing some poses and she said in her cute little accent..."do you want to get on top of her?" :lmao: Rob replies..."Heck yeah! But I thought this was a family cruise!" :scared1:  So, take your time, get several poses so you have lots to choose from! And if they are doing photopass this cruise, then even better! No wasted pics!
We did the DIS meet by the Mickey Pool at 3pm last cruise and it was MUCH better than our previous cruise at the sailaway party. There was too much going on at the sailaway!
But I think we should have a sort of "leader" of the party, someone very extroverted and isn't shy! Someone who can introduce people to get things started. For my last cruise we talked for months and months on the thread and then we all got there and everyone was too shy to really talk. I only got to speak to about 3 DISers, the rest kinda stayed in the shade watching everyone else. Talking via a keyboard and in person are two VERY different things...I know that I felt a little shy at first too. :guilty:
So...any volunteers?? (think Hauted Mansion! )
Thanks for the info Cass - I would be embarrassed having my photos took and crawling from one pose to another. Maybe we'll go on a less busy time when the spectators wont be so bad.
I too vote Jeff.... I know what you mean about it easy to chat via the keyboard. I'll be a bit shy to start with. We just need to make sure we all make the effort at the start and then we'll bump into each other during the week too.
Suz loves the frozen pie on a stick covered with chocolate.
The calories are creeping on at just the thought of that stick - yummy!:goodvibes
Jeff,
And I plan on being in the Quiet Cove hot tub every night around 11:30pm. :woohoo: My fave part of the cruise was soaking in that tub for 20 mins before dipping myself in that pool right before I go to bed!! THAT is VACATION to me
Oh my goodness - that sounds like bliss - make sure theres room for me too!
That would be addiction. I am at my FIL and posting. I can not get enough of this. All my down time I am spending reading about everybody. Hmmm. I might need to get a life. :lmao:
It happens to us all... I cant let a day go by without dipping in to see whats happening:rolleyes1

Hello everyone!
But I think we should have a sort of "leader" of the party, someone very extroverted and isn't shy! Someone who can introduce people to get things started. I agree with the Mickey pool meet. We had a kind of leader ( MJ and her sister Sue) they were FAB! We were lucky we all chatted alot straight away. ( I chat of England, be warned ! :) ) There were honeymoon couple Kelly was very chatty on line, however very shy in real life. That was fine, we are all different. By the end of the cruise we all got on so well. It was only a 4 day cruise imagine a 7 nighter!
I have not done the galley on DIS since it was the Big Red Boat. But on all the other cruise lines all the tours have been open to all family members. I plan on getting at least 1 of our 3 to go on it. Most likly the 4 year old. She loves cooking.
I would love to do the Galley tour with Elouise (5yrs) How do you book this please? Maybe the kids will want to join us up ?
Hi all! Just thought I'd pop in quickly. Been extremely busy around here. Had Katie's 5th b'day party yesterday. We had this party so friends & family could celebrate as we'll be in WDW for her actual b'day next Sunday.

Heres the news so far on missing Maddie :grouphug:
By Peter Griffiths
LONDON (Reuters) - Celebrities and business leaders have put up a 1.5 million pound reward to help find Madeleine McCann, the four-year-old who disappeared from a Portuguese holiday resort 10 days ago.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, Virgin boss Richard Branson and Topshop chief Philip Green are among a host of public figures to have offered money for her safe return.
"We are praying for Madeleine's safe return and can't imagine what Kate and Gerry (McCann) are going through at the moment," Green said in a statement released by the News of the World, which itself offered 250,000 pounds.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, England cricketer Michael Vaughan, Everton chairman Bill Kenwright and Ann Summers boss Jacqueline Gold also offered money.
Last week, Scottish health spa owner Stephen Winyard put up one million pounds and a family friend has offered 100,000 pounds.
Gerry McCann said: "Anything that can be done to publicise that Madeleine is missing and help with the search is very welcome."
Madeleine, who turned four on Saturday, is feared kidnapped after she vanished from her bed in the Praia da Luz holiday resort on the Algarve on May 3.
At a church service on Saturday, Gerry McCann said her disappearance had unleashed a "tidal wave" of devastation on the family.
"Today we should be celebrating the fourth birthday of our daughter Madeleine," he said. "Instead we have had to remember what a normal, beautiful, vivacious, funny, courageous and loving little girl that we are missing today."
A new photograph of Madeleine has been released in an attempt to help the investigation. It shows a distinctive dark blemish in her blue right eye."It runs from her pupil into her iris at the bottom of her pupil. Whoever has her cannot hide or cover that up," Gerry's brother John McCann told the Sunday Mail, a Scottish tabloid.

The calories are creeping on at just the thought of that stick - yummy!:goodvibes
Never played shuffle board. DS just saw it and wants to play. From what I understand, and I will get it completely wrong I'm sure, is you use a stick to push a puck into a scoring area. You can knock other people's pucks out. Most points win I guess. Sounds kinda like curling. Now, like I said, I'm sure I'm completely wrong.
You would book the Bridge and Galley tours at Guest Services. This can be done right when you get on board if you like. We did that for the Tea with Wendy one year. The Bridge Tour we got later in our cruise that time.
You will love the Key Lime on a Stick.

No, not as big as a field. That is behind me. There is a farm right behind us.
No, in my subdivision we cut our own lawns. The snooty people :snooty: live in the subdivision to the west of us on the other side of the farm field. They have smaller yards but MUCH bigger houses. You don't do your own work in that subdivision. We're just commoners here. :rotfl:
:) Let's actually talk about the cruise.
What day/island is everyone most looking forward too?
Mine I think would have to be Grand Cayman.
Also Grand Cayman - we're doing the speed boat thing.
Is everyone going to the shows or are some people who have been on DCL skippng because they are the same as last time?
We've skipped the last 2 cruises because we saw them all the first cruise, but I think DS will be into them this time so we will try again. We will probably skip the opening night because it is the same everytime. I'm hoping for a new comedian this time - seen Gary Delana (sp?) too many times and the act didn't change. Don't get me wrong, he is funny.
Doesn't matter how many thimes I've seen the shows, have to see them again.:rotfl:
Any restaurant or nightly theme anyone really looking forward too?
Ours would be Pirate Night. Always a fun night and DS says he wants to go up for the fireworks. We went up only on one cruise and that time it was raining. Still had the party though. Just get too tired by that time of night. I think they have a dessert buffet that night after the party.
Any of the formal nights - love to dress up.
So, are the adults planning any nights out in the night club area? What are most people thinking of doing - Sports Bar, Jazz Lounge, or what ever is in Rockin Bar D?
Suz and I usually hit the Jazz Lounge, but if something good is going on in Rockin Bar D, we go there.
Want try our some of the activities in the new bar.
Jeff,
Looking forward to those comfy blue chairs on deck 4!!! We watched the sunset everyday and just relaxed there! Although with early dining, we may miss the sunsets this cruise :sad1:
Depending on how Kira takes being in Flounders, our plan is to drop her off after the show for 2-3 hours every night so we can enjoy the adult shows in Rockin Bar D. Rob and I love to dance and we don't get to do that much.
And I plan on being in the Quiet Cove hot tub every night around 11:30pm. :woohoo: My fave part of the cruise was soaking in that tub for 20 mins before dipping myself in that pool right before I go to bed!! THAT is VACATION to me

Well Linda, since you have experience, you can lead the group. :thumbsup2

I can relate to busy, Mark is gone for 2 wks for work. So besides working all day, I am also taxi driver, chef, lawn mower, and whatever falls into the day. We are in the middle of our soccer (football) season, so practice a few nights a week, plus games of tournaments every weekend. And I have two involved, so twice the running.
Glad to see you check in every now and then though. So what exactly do you do? If you don't mind be asking?

BTW, they must have cleared some of the slow/dead threads because the thread right ahead of us is now #10. So when we pass them, we will be in the top 10.

Why don't you PM me so I don't have to look back for info. Why don't you give me the sizes you need as well, this way I can have an idea of what we need. Thanks.
Actually, for everyone else, if you could send me a PM with "Bracelets" in the subject line and tell me how many you think you need at this point, sizes too if possible, that would be great. It is not a committment, just a point of research for me so I can find the best deal out there. I will PM or publicly post before I place a final order to confirm what people want.
Thanks.

Morning all! Sorry I haven't posted much lately. There are so many posts to read that by the time my idiot brain reads them all, I don't have much time to post. You know I am a very busy woman!:rotfl2: :laundy: :rotfl2:
I don't have much to add to the posts, so I will add a pic. Here is Derek performing his Science Fair experiment yesterday. He extracted DNA from 3 different apples (1 room temp, 1 cold, 1 hot) to see if the DNA "held up" with the temp change. His conclusion was that he could see why we do not store our food in heat....he couldn't retrieve as much DNA in the hot apple. The blue sludge is the DNA. Earth moving stuff, huh?

Her reflex will be to push the spoon out of her mouth, but after a day or two, she'll teach herself how to use it. I use to actually push up on the chin to close the mouth so they could learn to do it. Put very little on the spoon so she doesn't gag. Gosh, I miss those days. I am one at my job. I work for a semiconductor bussiness, and I am on the Emergancy Response Team. If there is a fire, Chemical spill or leak (gas or liquid) , or any other emergancy at the plant I respond to that. So I guess part-time, semi professional would be a good term.

Man quizzed over missing Madeleine
Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are interviewing a man as they searched a villa 160 yards from where she was snatched.
Intense police activity surrounded the house lived in by British man Robert Murat.
Murat's mother Jenny, who is believed to own the house, has been running a stall on the seafront in the village of Praia da Luz, Portugal, appealing for information from members of the public about Madeleine's disappearance.
Murat was a regular sight crossing the police tape and approaching the McCanns' apartment following Madeleine's disappearance.
He said he was helping the McCanns as a translator. But journalists told police earlier this week that they had suspicions about him.
The Policia Judiciara confirmed that they were questioning a man. A spokesman for the investigation did not confirm the nationality or identity of the person and described it as a "normal development".
On May 4, the day after Madeleine's disappearance when media descended upon the area, Murat made himself known to journalists, chatting about the case but refusing to reveal what his role was initially. He told people that he had a daughter the same age as Madeleine.
A few days later Sunday Mirror journalist Lori Campbell reported him to the Portuguese police because she thought he was suspicious. She said: "Basically he surfaced on Friday afternoon last week and was walking around as if he was somebody official. He claimed that he was just a local guy who spoke fluent Portuguese and English and was helping the family. He was coming in and out of the family apartment speaking with the media and acting like he was somebody official. But when questioned about it, he was very vague about his position. He said he just volunteered to help the police with their investigation."
Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa said that more than one person had been taken to the police building in Portimao to make statements. He emphasised that the people had not been arrested.
The operation began as early as 7am, it is understood. Men in white suits with facemasks were seen entering the house, where a swimming pool was said to have been drained.

Thanks for the update from over there. The last info I heard here in the States was that the portugal police had no information to go on and were still at square one........Lets pray that this man holds the key to this mystery. I was one of those "old time" games. Not the uniforms or anything like that, just the Brewers stinking up the place like they had all through the 90's.
Blew a 6-2 lead in the 8th, giving up 6, and losing 8-6. Pathetic. Good teams shouldn't be blowing 4 run leads. This is the first time they lost 2 in a row since right at the begining of the season.

It's a hard choice to pick which is better.
We didn't go to the beaches while on St. John (island tour only) but have done 7 mile beach on GC.
I think I'd pick St. John over GC, but I think there might be even better in the Caribbean.

The tree branch fell on fire onto the wire that went to our houes and the neighbors house. The fireball traveled up the wires but at that point my dad put it out with the hose. I have not liked storms since. Oh yah there was another time the lightening hit an antenia (sp) at our cabin and since it was not grounded all the wiring in the cabin was burnt and not working when we got up there. All the eletrical switches were black.

I have to say a chocolate martini is good, but haven't had apple or lemon. I don't do martini much, don't care for gin.
the flavored ones are not made with gin they are made with vodka. I do not care for gin either.

We had a BAD day:headache:
Before Kira and I got out of bed this morning, Rob had lost a $200,000 order.
Then we found out that we lost that house, they got a good offer on it this morning.
Rob was gone for the evening for business and I was very upset so I took Kira for a walk, by the time I got home I was in tears. (I'm normally not a crier but I really really LOVED this house! ) Then I grabbed Kira and we went out in the back to let our dogs, Lilo & Stitch out. They started wrestling each other like always and Kira was watching them....
and she LAUGHED! :sad1:
For the very first time...she laughed!!!! My tears of sorrow turned to tears of joy.
It's amazing what a laugh can do

SO what are we all gonna do AFTER the cruise? I have a feeling that this thread will go on and on and on and on popcorn::
Anybody have plans for a cruise in 2008? We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary so we'd like to do one, looking at the 10/25/08 cruise to Costa Maya with TWO stops at Castaway Cay!! :woohoo:

You only have 62 posts and you are already addicted?

Crack??? Yikes dont want to be travel through customs with you, when they put on the rubbe gloves !!!:scared1: :rotfl2:
Yes This is definately an addiction !:)
Hey now wait a minute. I said lets not put me in charge. My problem is traveling with my parents. I need to drink just because of spending so much time with them, but they don't drink and look down on me for drinking. If my parents were not traveling with us I would say not a problem with drinking and then leading the group but in this case I will have to pass.
As for martini's I love them, my faves are apple, lemon, and chocolate.
I commend you for traveling with your parents. I love my mum and dad dearly and for a few days, we would have a blast, however its hard work if the age difference and what they want to do come into play. I would definately be drinking, just to help me keep a fixed smile on my face!:)
Welcome to come and join me for a quick drink, anytime :thumbsup2
If we fall of the bar stools, it will be because of rough seas, not because we drank too many martinis !:rotfl:

we have a huge storm rolling in, how about the rest of the WI people??
We're looking pretty safe Janice. It's now 6:20 am and still no storms for SE Wisconsin.
Anyone watch the Brewers-Phillies game tonight?
I was one of those "old time" games. Not the uniforms or anything like that, just the Brewers stinking up the place like they had all through the 90's.
Blew a 6-2 lead in the 8th, giving up 6, and losing 8-6. Pathetic. Good teams shouldn't be blowing 4 run leads. This is the first time they lost 2 in a row since right at the begining of the season.
Sorry, just a little p!ssed from watching them blow it.
You call that a game Jeff??:scared1:
I'm gonna feel really stupid tomorrow if these photos aren't showing up like I planned!!!:scared1:
They're showing up just fine. Great pictures!!:)
This was taken at Cinnamon Bay on St John.....isn't is lovely!!!!
Cinnamon Bay? We know where Mike will be hanging out now don't we?:rotfl2:
(too bad this is a Western, but who knows? Maybe it will turn out to be an Eastern. Sorry Cass, I know it's not what you want to hear.)
I just heard on the TV that a town about 40 minutes away had quite a bit of wind damage, trees down, power lines down, quite a few people w/out power.
Glad it's not me.
i'm alittle gun shy w/storms...last summer during a huge storm, my new (2yrs) house, that we built, started on fire. Lightning struck a tree, travelled through the root line, met up w/gas line that came into my house and followed that gas line in. Not a lose, but alot of structural and smoke damage. Storms are not my friend.:scared1:
 So sorry to hear that Janice. We had bad luck twice now with storms in the past. But like you, not a lot of structural damage, just personal items, water heaters, furnaces...stuff easily replaced.
My DH wanted me to let everyone know that the PHX SUNS just won their game
YEAH!!! Great game Carrie (and Scott). I watched the whole game, therefore, no time to DIS last night. Although we live in WI, we are all huge Suns fans. Weird, I know.

Hey Jeff, now that I'm at work without dial-up, can you please repost the link to the Magic leaving Florida again?
BTW, anyone read the post about the two new DCL ships? Someone posted that they are staying in Florida, the Magic will stay in CA, and the Wonder will be a floater ship. What is a "floater" ship? Anyone know?
Brenda, plz check in and let us know how you're feeling this morning. Any instant results yet?

It's official! Wedding planning has overtaken my life! ;)
It's all I've done the last few days. I'm really starting to go insane. I need to catch up with here too, SO many pages behind!
The good news is I think I finally may have chosen my outfit for our engagement session next week:

Yeah I'm not exactly looking my best right here lol. But hopefully that will all change very soon! :)
Have I mentioned that I still wish the weekly or daily subscription e-mails would work? I think if I change it to notify every time I may drown in e-mails! But at least I'd be caught up :)
Thinking about all you guys and hoping all is well with everyone! I promise I'm more friendly and gabby in real life :)
