Antss or Chris- I wanted to know if you would know of any Journal of Medicine, or anything like that who would rate facilities? You know how you can get lists of "best schools" and stuff like that.... is there a place where we can get a list of "best hospitals" or "rehabs" for Stroke patients? We are worried that the other facility may really specialize more in like car accidents, and sports injuries, things like that... rather than stroke victims.

Thanks for any info you may be able to provide!

I only know about hospital here in greater Philadelphia.. and it is bec. of friends and family whom works there... but I will ask around at work...

Morning all, we are at the hospital and i have taken over the computer :) :blush: We got word that he is being transferred to Provena St. Josephs still in Elgin. Anyone in the area familiar with the hospital? Once we get over there, they will give us word on when the actual surgery will take place. Due to his condition, he does get to go to the top of the list or somewhere near there so it's first available right now. IF the wait is too long, he may get to go home AS LONG AS he promises to take it easy :hug:

Thanks a bunch! So far, all I have found is the Spaulding Rehab in Boston... and that wasn't one of the two they were considering. I found a list of 20 Top in the country, and Spaulding was the only one in the North East on the list, and it was number 9! So, that sounds like it would be the best, but ....I KNOW the siblings won't like that one! My grandmother died in that place, and it is very old, and very hospital like, so that would make it clear off their list :(

Today for dinner I made diet coke chicken: diet coke (duh), can of cream of chicken and a can of cream of onion. But I cooked a BUNCH of chicken. So there is a lot leftover. Now DH won't eat leftovers, so I need a recipe that will incorporate this leftover chicken into a new dish. Any ideas?

Hi everyone!
We went to Phoenix today to go to Ikea! It was my first time and I am HOOKED! I love love love it there. :laughing: Makes me want to move just to be clsoer. It is about a 3 to 3.5 hour drive each way, but it was worth it.

Ok, off to catch up on my other little thread then I am going to go veg on the couch and then go to bed. Ry starts swim lessons tomorrow!

Sorry, i have not been a good popper!! I've been so busy, it's hard to get here!! I've been doing a ton of overtime. All is well here, but it's been really hot. It was 90 last week and although it does not sound so bad, we had a real busy day and running around with the bunker pants and coats on in 90 makes it feel like 110, but we have to wear them for our own saftey, so i do. It's not uncommon to lose over 10 pounds water weight from sweating on a hot day with all the gear on at a big job, in like 30 minutes flat. Back in 2000 thier was a bad heat wave it was 102 in nyc, at 1 pm and we ended being first on scene at a really big fire of 3 alarms. I eneded up passing out and taken to the emergency room for heat stroke and severe dehydration. But anyway it's been hot and real busy at work, but i like being busy!!

So how's everyone doing??? What have i missed?????

ok now for my update....


Things have been crazy busy with the end of the school year stuff for me. Trying to make sure all the PTO stuff is done. Casey's skating and band stuff really revs up the end of the year. We leave for Boston in 2 weeks for the International competition.

I went scrapbooking all weekend!!!! :banana: Finished 60 pages of my 2006 trip...the only issue now is I filled the book Cat picked up for me! So now I have to find another book!!!!!! I don't really want to wait till Sept.....

Speaking of Sept...all still looks good. Although Mike won't let me "officially" say I'm going to Disney until he gets his bonus check in July. I have everything booked...

I'm thinking of finding a job!!!! hahah isn't that a hoot? I was thinking I wanted to do something while the kids are at school...that kinda cancels out therapy work, as most good therapeutic jobs are at night for both group and 1 on 1 counseling. SO, I was thinking of going to get my Real Estate Appraisers liscense. Beause Mike is in banking we have a lot of contacts for realtors, appraisors, and lawyers....it would be easy to find a job. The Illinois appraisal institute would take me with my doctorate degree, I'd only need 4 classes in real estate appraisal ...

I know that Consumer Reports does a "best" list of hospitals, or rn homes, I would guess maybe they would do rehab hospitals. I know a little about the ones here in Illinois. Does his mom have a Case Manager at the insurance company working on the case? They typically have a great resource and could give you many options. Especially if you tell her/him you're willing to look out of network for the best care. What's the insurance company you're working with? I still have some contacts in that industry.

See THAT'S the point...if I can get a job, I can save nearly everything I make for vacations & extras....I'd have to pay back our heloc loan the $1100 it would cost for the classes, but once I did that everything else would be gravy. & I could work when I wanted & not work when I didn't want to. I wouldnt make a ton of money, probably around $10k a year, which would be enough for at least one vacation a year...I really really really want to take Casey somewhere special for her 16th bday. Like Paris...just her I...it's something we've talked about since she was little. ......but I know I need to bring some of the money in myself to do that...

I dunno...the classes are in August...so I've got time to think

It has been hot here too! It was like 113 in Phoenix yesterday. And that was around noon while we wer ein the car. It could have been hotter but we were in the A/C! :laughing: So I feel your pain where heat is concerned.

Classes went fine. We are having HUGE tests and drills here in town today. MOST of the main drag was closed down. They were directing traffic around all kinds of weird ways. But we got there and all was well!

Operation starts at 8am tomorrow, but we have to be there at 6 if we want to say hello to him. Then the procedure will last about 5hours and then another 1-2 before we can see him after that.

I really like the staff at this hospital waaay better than Sherman, so i'm happy they had to send him here. (I guess things really do happen for a reason)

Thank you so much! I will go look at that. I looked at US News and World Report, and that's where I found the list with Spaulding on it. Since I am ONLY the daughter in law, I don't have any of the specifics about the case manager or anything. I know she has someone with that title, but I thought it was through the hospital???? I know she has Tufts Health, but I also know that the family can not look out of network. None of them have any savings, and the mother has minimal, if any, only because she had just sold her condo and moved in with her daughter.


On that note, that is where Rob is now, discussing everything that should have been discussed a week ago with his cousins, (the administrator and auditor) and sister. He was absolutely LIVID today, because he got a phone call stating that his mother was being transferred at 2PM to the, far away (out of state), not as great reputation, rehab, that the sister liked, and that Rob did NOT want for his mother.

Oh well. It is really none of my business. And, for my sanity I have to distance myself more. I can only control myself, and what I would do for my own parents. [EDITED]

Ok, so for the happy thing that happened today... Sarah had her P-K graduation! It was the CUTEST Thing! I will have to try to upload photos later. I took my fathers camera, and the battery is dying, so I will have to get the charger from him..... then I will share!

My dog is getting pretty old, and he NEVER used to go into the trash, or go up on the table to sniff for scraps, but now it seems he has NO MANNERS!!!!! What is up with that???? Well I was an IKEA virgin, but now I am addicted! :rotfl: It is the best store!!! I got a new office chair for me, a desk chair for Ry, 6 candle/lantern things for outside, an apron (because the colors matched my kitchen perfectly :) ), a wine opener, a 3 pack of scissors (mine always wind up missing), a rug protector for under my new chair, 4 decorative mirrors, and I think that's it. :laughing: It was all under $150.00 which was the best part of all!
Oh man, I HOPE HOPE HOPE all of your pics are ok. That is such a bummer. :sad2:

Ok... the reason behind why I have not been around... you know how you tend to be good with math when it comes to the WORLD ??? Well.. if you guys remember dmom is coming this Thursday the 7th... and I wasnt expecting that they will give me a weeks off next week at work since its like pulling tooth and nail but they gave me off.. then if you also remember my mini suv drinks gas like its water from hoover dam ! So after doing the math... just going to the nearest mall will cost me $55 to fill up... multiply that from 7th to the 15th... thats $440 ... for eating out for the 3 of us... $100 fur just lunch (unless me and dsis plays tag team with margarita then it would be more) thats $800 ... of course you would end up in some mall... or Ikea (Tia :eek: ) and if mom shops.... even with the discount I get at the TDS would cause me a good $500 ... then staying home.. of course I would be using electric to cool the house... water when they have the need to wash :rotfl: maybe about $100 ... totals to $1840 and thats not counting the soap in washing clothes, milk and other basic home necessities. To make rhyme and reason to my madness... me and dsis went halfway and decided to take mom to WDW... and the second reason why I have not been around... is do you know it is fully booked in June ?? so I was trolling the phone lines since Monday... no availability from value to deluxe...other than the cabins at WL and GF and no way we're staying there... sooooooo we renewed tha AP for $300( which can be use for more trips), got the room at SSR for $150 a nite with the AP discount...flying via SWA we're only paying for dmom since me and dsis got the free ones already... so that totals to $900 .... and dmom shoulders the meal ticket :banana: now knowing that is fully booked... I am contemplating for a rental so thats what I am trolling for... looking for a good discount.... 1st time to go in June but dsis is excited to get there on Star Wars Weekend... so if theres anything you need me to buy for you (Chrissssss).... you know where to call me... I will be adding the flicker window by Friday to my siggie...:rolleyes1

Hi gang,
So i worked last night, Around 10pm one of the crews was dispatched to a run, a few minutes later they were on the radio screaming that they were involved in a major wreck/accident and were asking for back up. My fire house was quickly dispatched to assist. They were hit head on by a drunk driver that had fallen a sleep behind the wheel with his foot on the gas petal. They were banged up real good but will be fine, the drunk as it figures was not hurt and was arrested at the scene, with a blood alcohol level 3x the legal limit.

I found the most life saving product of my diet today..... CARB FREE/SUGAR FREE Margarita MIX!!!!! Sure, it is EXPENSIVE, but if it tastes good, it will be worth every penny! And, usually I buy the Jose Quervo premade margaritas to make frozens at home.... but I had bought a bottle of the GOOD STUFF tequilla, the Cabo Wabo, so now I get to use it!!!!!:hippie: I can't WAIT to try it!!!!!:woohoo:

good morning everyone! Margaritas of any kind sound fabulous!! hahaha :) Good news: Saturday i find out what the baby is!!

GREAT NEWS: MY dad has his breathing tubes out and he looks so much better and not as scary. :hug:

Now the bad news...

If you remember the start of all this was last week wednesday, my father was having his procedure done and I was at the hospital with my kids b/c DH had mentioned to his boss that he would help him out in the AM, but my dad was in surgery and he wanted to be there, so that he could watch the kids and my DH knew i would need him by my side, in case something happened.

All good no problem...well DH stays for the AM to do all the stuff and is ready to head to the hospital.......

they say no b/c they are short staffed....DH insists he has to go...they say no...it gets heated and escalated...If he goes DH will lose his job....DH goes......


My DH lost his job that day. I'm pg with baby #3 and my dad is sick and my dh is unemployed. My BFF was in New Jersey on vacay and i couldn't get a hold of her. I felt like i was dying inside.

Thursday comes and DH begins his job search as I have the children with me. He gets tons of interviews and lots of good words and even 3 SECOND interviews. Then friday i needed him at the hospital, so we took a break and looked over our finances and we knew we were fine for about 6 months. So that was good, but still hard. I knew i could find a job in a heartbeat, but at the same time, who would hire a woman that needed maternty leave so soon??


THe weekend was great fun, but also the bad still hung in the air, KWIM? We tried not to let it bother us as our children needed us and my little unborn baby needed me the most and on top of all that, I am my fathers rock and i needed to be there for him and NOT have him worry about us.

Well lo and behold my NOT so Darling SIS tells my dad! :furious: DOES HE NEED THIS?!?!!? grr....he is quick to offer everything he has and of course doesnt' believe that we have prepared for such cause in our emergency fund and if worse came to worse came to worse, we hit up the college fund and as our first back up, i knew we had a lot of money in Disney for our cruise that we had to postpone.

anyways...monday comes and DH stays home and i leave for the hospital...
DH calls me and tells me i have to head home right away...I get home and DH leaves..(never says why) he comes back from 4th interview at the FIRST place he went to on Thursday and he has a job! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?! the first place he went to?!

This job is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM OUR HOUSE! my husband goes from driving 3hrs round trip to WALKING TO WORK?!? and it's WAYYYY more $$$ than he was making before!!!

The Lord lifted a burden on us that i knew would be weighing on me for so long!

THEN yesterday they call my husband AGAIN! he leaves the hospital and goes in and they have given him a job that is NOT in the warehouse managing as he is used to! they think from his experience, they will put him in a HIGHER postition! :faint: I cried tears of joy for my father and my husband yesterday.

I am so happy and so filled with emotion, it's amazing what faith can do for us. When i was so upset that all this bad would fall on us all at once, it turns out that even better was just around the corner. I have a husband fully employed in a better job than we could ever ask for and my father is getting better!

I'm sorry this is so long and babbly, but i'm happy and I can't believe it.

Is it bad to say that my husband actually lost his job at a good time?? Otherwise i would have had to watch 2 kids ina hospital all alone and worry about my dad at the same time. Now their routine is not too mixed up.

DH calls me and tells me i have to head home right away...I get home and DH leaves..(never says why) he comes back from 4th interview at the FIRST place he went to on Thursday and he has a job! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?! the first place he went to?!

This job is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM OUR HOUSE! my husband goes from driving 3hrs round trip to WALKING TO WORK?!? and it's WAYYYY more $$$ than he was making before!!!

The Lord lifted a burden on us that i knew would be weighing on me for so long!

THEN yesterday they call my husband AGAIN! he leaves the hospital and goes in and they have given him a job that is NOT in the warehouse managing as he is used to! they think from his experience, they will put him in a HIGHER postition! :faint: I cried tears of joy for my father and my husband yesterday.

I am so happy and so filled with emotion, it's amazing what faith can do for us. When i was so upset that all this bad would fall on us all at once, it turns out that even better was just around the corner. I have a husband fully employed in a better job than we could ever ask for and my father is getting better!

I'm sorry this is so long and babbly, but i'm happy and I can't believe it.

Is it bad to say that my husband actually lost his job at a good time?? Otherwise i would have had to watch 2 kids ina hospital all alone and worry about my dad at the same time. Now their routine is not too mixed up.

Timmy, how fab that you get to go again! I would love to steal away, but it looks like my mini trip is going to be a little weekend in July to Vegas with my mother! I just want to see a couple shows at night and VEG by the pool during the day and visit the spa in the afternoons!! So we're staying at Mandalay Bay (my fave) and I have to figure out how much air fare is going to be.

You should try TheHotel at Mandalay Bay. I am spoiled rotten now - it's the only place I like to stay ! It's like a piece of heaven !

Its simple...chicken breast cut into strips...in a bowl put mix one can of cream of onion, one can of cream of chicken and one can of diet pepsi. Add some seasonings to kick it up a notch. Then pour it over the chicken and bake at 350 for like 50 minutes. I'd try a higher temp and shorter time next time though.

He didn't have a real job for MONTHS though! And... we didn't have any savings! The only money we had was because I had lost my engagement ring four or five months earlier, and I hadn't found another one that I wanted yet, so we had the insurance money. I will say, that God did have a hand in when the announcement was made of the lay off though.... because that weekend we were supposed to be going to NYC to buy the new diamond! Even now that he has a job, we are still PAYING for that time "off". He tried to start his own business and the business has debt we are still paying.... and when he did take a normal job, it is at a payrate at $20K less than he was making 7 years ago! :scared1:

Hello everyone, i'm home and eshausted a looong day yesterday at the hospital into today, but my dad is standing!! :sad: i cried when he got up! i've been helping him a lot and my husband has been working miracles here at the house watching our crazy children! but i can see the newfound respect he has for what i do on a daily basis. He even asked me "how do you do this all day every day??"

back to my dad:
He is having his chest tubes out tomorrow, but still getting blood, since he lost soo much from the surgery and he continues to still be losing some, but they say it's not too bad of a thing right now. he started eating a popsicle today and he said it felt good on his throat. I feel like a bad person for leaving when i did, since it's only 4, but i was exhausted and Sal had to go into work for a couple hours to meet some more people.

i know what you mean, but I found out about the job while on the cell phone and he was still a good 15-20 minutes away. I was more terrified then upset and when i told my grandfather and aunt who were there with me, they made it seem like it was no big deal. They kept telling me how smart and talented and young my husband was that he could do anything. I cried for the entire time and my kids helped me put it together. (they didn't need to see me like that) Then my grandfather said, the best thing i could do for him was to hug him and support him, because he already felt like a failure and knew he was disappointing me at the worst time possible. Then my aunt told me to think of the baby. So i locked myself in the bathroom and as corny as this sounds i sobbed for another 10 minutes and then i cleaned myself up andtold God i was putting it all in his hands. (after asking him why on erarth would he do this to us NOW!).

I walked out of the bathroom and Autumn saw Sal, she said DAAAA and she ran to hug him followed by Gabriel. I knew then and there that they didn't need to feel the stress we were already under. I walked up to him and hugged him tight...then cried again :sad: and he said:

"those tears need to be for your father, because we're going to be alright, i promise, with you helping me i can do anything."


We are far from perfect! hahaha...we argue, we fight and i do punch him (even though he laughs! :sad2: ) i think at this point, we're too young to realize how truly devastating this could have been :) and the upside is that it is the beginning of a wicked summer and since he works in the HVAC industry, it has plenty of openings right now.

I think it's because we spent ALOT of our relationship BROKE. we moved in together into a house with friends and we barely could cover rent and we lived off of Ramen and such for so long..then we moved out on our own and had a wedding to pay for..it was rough and we knew we never wanted to do that again.

So we started saving like crazy! and we never needed my paychecks when i was working so they were socked away.

Hi everybody!

I am home. I had to go to a graduation party with the kids. Rob's cousin's highschool graduation, but Rob had to work. (her parents are my kids Godparents) The kids got all dressed up, it was cute. Then we went to have cake at my gf's daughter's 7th birthday. (Rob's Goddaughter) We are finally home, and I am exhausted. I don't know how Sarah is still standing! She stayed up with me last night watching SNL in bed, then we watched the infomercial for the TimeLife collection of Soft Rock Favorites! She was like..... "mom, when is this commercial going to be over???? This is such a LONG commercial" It was so funny! :rotfl: So, at 1:17AM I shut off the tv and she is still going strong! UGH!


The last EVER Sopranos is on in a half hour. I don't know if I should wait and watch it with Rob on ONDEMAND like we usually do during the week, or watch it tonight!

This is a new program I am using so now more downloading needed HOORAY !!

I somehow strained my back and am in complete 100% agony. It hurts to even burp ( sorry - I know TMI !!) ! I was trying to yell at Dan to come help me get off the bed a little but ago and he didn't hear me. I ended up rolling off the bed ( ever so gently ) and crawling down the hall so he could actually help me get upright.

It happened at the end of the night last night and I am so glad it wasn't earlier in the day before most of the pictures were done - that could have been BAD news !!

I am off to soak in a scalding hot bath now - let's hope that will make me feel better.

Whats doing??? How's everyone?? I've been running around nyc all week doing some nice things. I actually got a phone call yesterday(saturday) Afternoon, it was from an old friend that used to work at my fire house, now he covers times square manhattan. His fire house was desperate for anyone, actually 4 guys to come over and do some overtime in times square. So i said yes and worked time square all night from 6 pm saturday until 9 am this morning. I had such a great time, i think it's time i put my transfer in and maybe consider being transfered to manhattan. So whats doing?? I have to work tomorrow(monday) Me and ds went to a local church friday after school, they are having a carnival, so we got to ride some rides and play some games and had a really nice time. He said to me as we were leaving, "Daddy, i think disney is so much better" He makes me laugh so much sometimes. I'm gonna go to bed good night all!!!

It was nice out here today. Sarah had a t-ball game. I have been put in charge of trophies. Good old ebay has a seller that is selling them for $2.50, with free engraving... can you believe that????? My goodness!

I should be spending a little less time on the computer over the next two weeks. My DH's grandmother may be coming to stay with us for a week of her month visit to the northeast. That means LOTS OF CLEANING this week! Evening everyone, it's been a tiring past couple of days and just wanted to share that my dad is home! he needs round the clock care, so i just got home not too long ago after getting to the hospital early and then taking him home in the evening and staying until my mother could take over and explaining everything. Off to do the same tomorrow. Then i think DH, the kids and i are going away for a couple days on a much needed vacay b4 DH starts his new job on friday :yay: i'm so tired :faint: that i don't care where we go, i just want to veg on a beach the entire time! We are thinking a down town chicago weekend, a Wi. Dells thing or Lake Geneva. If DH started on Monday we were actually trying to take off for WDW, but there was verrrry limited availability and i sooo did not want to pay for a deluxe, just for a couple days :( So we have to decide!

Grace has been sick too...went to the doc...it's time to have her tonsils removed. they are SO huge. He showed me a xray of a normal airway - about 10mm, and gracie's only 2mm! He said he was amazed that she can run at all....explains her snoring, her frequent waking up at night, and her inability to run the length of the soccer field. I've got an appoint with the ent on fri. I'm not thrilled at the thought of my baby having surgery....BUT I know it will help her, and hopefully she (& I) will sleep better.

Chris--I had my tonsils out when I was 8. It really didn't seem like a big deal to me. I tried to make it a big deal for attention and sympathy, but my parents saw through it. What made me really mad was they promised me ice cream and all I got was jello and grape soda!

Lori-I came in 11th. They ended up changing the rules and only taking voting for half, and talent for the other half. Apparently the judges didn't think much of me, and I missed advancing by 0.4 points! Its okay though...I wonder if there's a dropoff if I'll be back in.

I had my tonsils out just about 2 yeas ago. I was a freak case that went wrong - we will save the story for when she is all nice and healed !! I am sure she will do geat. It is safer for children than it is for adults.

Chris--I had my tonsils out when I was 8. It really didn't seem like a big deal to me. I tried to make it a big deal for attention and sympathy, but my parents saw through it. What made me really mad was they promised me ice cream and all I got was jello and grape soda!

Lori-I came in 11th. They ended up changing the rules and only taking voting for half, and talent for the other half. Apparently the judges didn't think much of me, and I missed advancing by 0.4 points! Its okay though...I wonder if there's a dropoff if I'll be back in.

Chris- Have you ever heard of Adventures in Odyssey? They are audio stories. They play them on the radio here, but you can also buy them on CD. They are so captivating. There was one story about being bored, and how you can make anything fun...but that's not my point. My point is, you should get the CDs for your kids to listen to. I like them because they have to use their imagination to see the picture in their mind...its not like veging in front of a TV. Something to combat the boredom.

Isn't it the worst when kids are sick??? Ry is still sick and driving me BATTY! I want to kick him outside to play, but he really needs to rest to get better.

I got an e-mail from disney for free dining in sept with park hoppers and value resort stay for 6 nights 7 days for 455 per adult and 190 per child. This might be a possibility but i really wanted to be there for ds's b-day on oct 5th. I guess will have to wait and see.

So next week is blood donation day at the fire house. A big van comes from nyc blood services and we have a open house we let anyone come in and feed them a barberque for donation blood, also we ourselves get to play pin cushion and give a pint of blood. Last year i gave blood and fainted, after i stood up. Hopefully this year i won't do that, the guys at the fire house would not let me live it down for a month.

EarNoseThroat! The dude that's going to take out her tonsils. He was a great guy, great bedside manner. Grace felt very comfortable with him. We've scheduled her surgery for July 5th.

Yes, we're actually staying in Plymouth for 4 nights and then in Boston for 1. I thought we'd do a whale watch again on the cape, that was great. I also want to do freedom trail...any tips on that????

I can't really relate to your situation, although I can understand how it could get frustrating! I think you need to learn how to say "No" and "That does not work for us this weekend." I should practice what I preach. I am horrible at telling someone no.

I got in cleaning mode tonight and went with it. I even swept out my garage - I don't think I have ever swept out a garage ! I bought a new steam cleaner tonight at Target too. I have been wanting one for awhile and found it on clearance. It probably won't come out of it;s box for a few months but at least I have one now.

Just got done giving Ella a bath and now I am off to bed. All that cleaning made me a tired girl !

We spent the day yesterday at a place called StingrayBay - it's in Huntley (Mich that's prob not too far for you) IT WAS FUN FUN FUN!!!!! It's a park district water park, but for in-residents it's only $9 for adults & $7 for kids...we had a blast! MIch - your little kiddos woudl love it!!!!

Morning everyone! been crazy busy with running around and the fever my dad had, did in fact lead to an infection :faint: soo more running around until i officially burned out yesterday and didn't want to move. My body ached and i was exhausted. Too much of everything. Little Roman finally made me sit still for a bit :)

I'm having a home inspection today :rolleyes: and i don't feel like doing it! haha! We are keeping our adoption portfolio open and possibly thinking about taking in Foster Care children after we get Roman on a schedule..BUT it's just a possibility! :) Anyways we like to keep current in case something does pop up! you never know!

The kids are doing well and we hit the Drive in on Sunday in the evening and it was fabulous and fun!!!

I went to TARGET last night to hit up their diaper sale and went nuts on baby things! we need so much again! :rolleyes:

Wash cloths, Towels, hand mittens (though i should have bought more), Bibs, binkies! I still haven't bought any bottles yet though, so i have a few more things to get!!

Morning everyone !

Chandler ( our dog) should be OK. He has been panting alot more than usual and it hasn't been from being too hot since we have air conditioning and he sleeps all day ! He halso has a lump on his side that seems to be getting bigger so it was making us a little nervous.

They think the lump might just be a cyst but can't be certain until they do a biopsy and he could need it surgically removed.

As for the panting it could be a number of things. It could be heart failure ( he is only 8 - so old enough but not technically THAT old), lung problems, arthritis - you name it ! So they wanted a CT or MRI ( can't remember exactly which one) a chest and abdomen X-rays and bloodwork !

We got away with just the bloodwork for now - although that was still over $200 !! So hopefully this afternoon we might now if there is something going on or if we are just paranoid ! Better safe than sorry though !

This afternoon I am doing a session for a couple adopting a baby from Korea. They have never met him and only seen pictures. He is coming into DIA ( airport) this afternoon about 5.

Keep your fingers crossed all goes well and I do an excellent job !! I am sooo excited for them ! I think this will be so much fun !

How cool is that?? Chances are the FDNY commish with knock it down and reject it, as sources with in the FDNY that i know well, are saying. They are sperading rumors that he does not like the idea at all, But the fact that harley davidson is donating all 8 bikes for free, there is still a chance, since the FDNY won't have to shell out a dime for this plan to work. Anyway i plan to use every favor owed to me in the Dept to get into this detail. Hopefully i make it in, it's kinda hard with well over 30,000 emplyee's and only 8 spots everyone is gunning for this postion. Maybe i'll win the spot, hopefully. It's still too early to tell if it will go though anyhow.

Lori (and whoever else)--I found out on Wednesday, so I didn't hold out on you too long, but my mom reads these boards, so I had to wait until I told her first. We've been trying for about a year, a little more. She was still nursing up until our sept disney trip when she weaned, so that made things more difficult...so last month I thought I was pregnant because I was 9 days late, but no. This month I (PJ might want to stop reading) ovulated 12 days late, so I waited 12 days after when I thought AF should be due, then 3 more days and I was going to test. That morning DH goes "So why is your period so late?" I said "i don't know" and I went downstairs and took the test. I never had a positive test with DD, only a blood test, so I was shocked when the pregnancy line came up before the control line. I had a whole elaborate plan to tell DH. The day before I tested I had ordered a "I'm the big sister" t-shirt that I was going to put on DD and give her a kids meal to give DH at work. I gave DH a kids meal to tell him I was pregnant with DD. Well, after I got the positive test, I tried to keep a straight face so I could wait for my t-shirt to come in the mail, but I'm an awful liar. DH goes "What were you doing downstairs in the bathroom?" So I said, "Why don't you go look for yourself?!" (i'm thinking poop here:rotfl: ) SO he goes down and looks and says "Oh, you took a test...what's it say?" I said, "Its positive." What? And he pulls out the instructions...which I had already done since I couldn't believe how fast the positive line came up. So he hugged me, and tears came to his eyes. That's about it. We told my parents by putting the shirt on DD, and we'll tell his parents that way tomorrow night.

We had a fabulous time other than the HEAT :faint: haahah! it was HOT HOT HOT! and for me that was just uncomfortable!!!! We did get a great location and an upgrade to preferred, but didn't have to pay for it! :yay: so there were a lot of perks!! The kids had a blast and my dad loved it!! I do still have to post the pics of my room , but it's taking my lazy butt too long to do!!

February sounds like a dream time to go!! The little guy will still be too small for us most likely! We're heading to the WORLD in NOVEMBER of 08 most likely, but October is still a possibility!

Lori (and whoever else)--I found out on Wednesday, so I didn't hold out on you too long, but my mom reads these boards, so I had to wait until I told her first. We've been trying for about a year, a little more. She was still nursing up until our sept disney trip when she weaned, so that made things more difficult...so last month I thought I was pregnant because I was 9 days late, but no. This month I (PJ might want to stop reading) ovulated 12 days late, so I waited 12 days after when I thought AF should be due, then 3 more days and I was going to test. That morning DH goes "So why is your period so late?" I said "i don't know" and I went downstairs and took the test. I never had a positive test with DD, only a blood test, so I was shocked when the pregnancy line came up before the control line. I had a whole elaborate plan to tell DH. The day before I tested I had ordered a "I'm the big sister" t-shirt that I was going to put on DD and give her a kids meal to give DH at work. I gave DH a kids meal to tell him I was pregnant with DD. Well, after I got the positive test, I tried to keep a straight face so I could wait for my t-shirt to come in the mail, but I'm an awful liar. DH goes "What were you doing downstairs in the bathroom?" So I said, "Why don't you go look for yourself?!" (i'm thinking poop here:rotfl: ) SO he goes down and looks and says "Oh, you took a test...what's it say?" I said, "Its positive." What? And he pulls out the instructions...which I had already done since I couldn't believe how fast the positive line came up. So he hugged me, and tears came to his eyes. That's about it. We told my parents by putting the shirt on DD, and we'll tell his parents that way tomorrow night.
