WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOTY Christine! :cool1:

Are the baseball pants clean, Fran? I forgot to wash DS's and he had to wear sweats yesterday.

Is it as hot up there as it is here?

Yes, my son's baseball pants are clean. It is extremely hot here as well.

Does anyone have the Passporter Disney World 2007 Deluxe Edition? And if so, do you like it? I found it on the internet for $42 including s & h. I just wanted to know if it is worth the money. Thanks.

Tomorrow they start on our addition. We are adding 200 sq. ft. to out breakfast and living area and making a new covered patio that will be 24 by 16. We are very excited, but this should have started at the beginning of MAy not the beginning of June. THey will be here around noon tomorrow and by 6 starting Monday----Oh my -- my dreams of sleeping in are long gone.

Aww I missed 15000. That is what I get for going to get more water (and procrastinate work).

I am so glad tomorrow's Friday. What are everyone's weekend plans? I have a friend coming to town tomorrow from Oregon. She and I are going to do a girl's day on Saturday and drive to the beach for the day. Not sure yet which beach, maybe Wilmington. Sunday she is headed off to other friends' and DH and I are going to go to Wet'n'Wild Emerald Pointe, in Greensboro (about an hour from here).

I still don't have any peep suggestions for a low cal dinner. Anyone?

Hi Peeps! :goodvibes I didn't quote but I will try to remember everything I wanted to say.

To all of my Peeps who posted about my medical worries:THANK YOU!!!! I feel so much better about the whole thing. You have all helped me to relax about it and I know I'm not alone. What a great group we have here!:grouphug:

Bee- I am very sorry for your loss. Prayers to you and your family.

MouseHouse- I hope things work out for you!

HockeyKat-I am going to start taking Hoodia when I get back from vacation. I am glad to hear that it works for you.

Punkin- I'm sorry about all of the smoke. Is it hot there? I hope not. I would think that would make it seem even worse. I hope you are able to go to the waterpark tomorrow.:beach:

Pigget-We call it "pop" here too.:) One time when I was about ten we were sitting in our living room and we heard a bang. My mom had opened the fridge and a two-liter of pop somehow fell on the floor and the lid must have cracked or something. All of the pressure in the bottle made it shoot across the kitchen floor. After we stopped laughing:rotfl: it was a big mess to clean up! That is exciting that you are building on. We would like to build on a family room someday (probably not for at least five years).

Aries-Good luck on your test!:thumbsup2

Melinda-I hope the passport thing works out!!

Celery-You are doing awesome!:cheer2:

Wonders-That is so cool that you got another order for your cookies. Will you post more pictures? They are so pretty!:flower3:

Utah Mama-Congratulations on your son's graduation! I bet you throw an awesome party!party:

Hello to anyone that I missed!:wave2:

Hockey Kat-I'm not sure about the calories but I love to do low fat english muffin pizzas. I buy the light english muffins, low fat cheese, and I use tomato sauce. I top it with any veggies that I want. You could get turkey peperoni too. They are filling and really good!:thumbsup2

I got it a few weeks back...it is great and I like that I can re-arrange the pages based on the order I am doing the parks in...you cant do that with the spiral one. And I can pull out the pages that dont need to go with us everywhere if I wanted to. I give it 2 thumbs up!

Yes, worth every penny and I'm the cheapest human being ever. It is sooooo cool with detailed fold out (yet not cumbersome) park maps. It's perfect for a first timer or a WDW expert. Can't say enough good about it!

so - so sorry for your loss...
PEEPS, I am not in a good place. There are too many things going on right now and I feel like my life is crashing around me. I don't know if I'll be posting much for the next couple of weeks.

We had to cancel all of our travel plans for the next 6 mos. DH said it was too much of a burden financially to do any of it. I won't be going in Jan to the 5K either. He has no idea that our trip was what has been keeping me together and focused on something. He said I'm being very selfish and immature for being really upset by our change in plans.
not immature - disappointed and there is nothing wrong with that. Can you think of it as postponed instead of cancelled?! Keep planning and tweaking.

Actually I was born and raised in the South. My dad was a military brat so I can thank him for the words like cubbard and pop--I also say neither and either like NITHER AND ITHER---Long vowel sounds--

I had to go back and double-check who was telling the story about coke spewing everywhere when I got to "pop"! I knew you were from the south... But the "military brat" explanation makes lots of sense. I just hadn't noticed anything before. But "Pop" vs. "coke" was a dead giveaway. Like Punkin, I had to laugh but boy I feel for you having to do the clean-up. What a mess!!!
I had to go back and re-read again - I just got it was your dad that was the military brat. And he picked up some phrases that you got from him. Isn't it interesting how that happens!?

Melinda, I sure hope your daughter's passport gets to you in time. I know you'll stay on top of it and do everything you can.

UM, Congratulations on Jordan's graduation! Have a great celebration!!

Woo Hooty to all! It was a big day!

That's exciting! After Hurricane Wilma, my mom decided to enclose our Florida room and it was a ton of work. Lucky me was usually home during the day so I got stuck having to get up super early and watching them work all day. They were here for 4 months. But now that it is done, I love it and so glad she decided to do it.

I am so glad tomorrow's Friday. What are everyone's weekend plans? I have a friend coming to town tomorrow from Oregon. No big plans for me. My neighbor's DD just graduated high school so they are having a little gathering Saturday afternoon and other than that I'll probably be getting things together for our upcoming Disney weekend and working on school stuff. I'm thinking a Gilmore Girls marathon sounds pretty good though. I already have season 1 and Best Buy had all of them on sale for 19.99! So my mom picked up season 2 and 3 for my bday! The only problem with a Gilmore Girls marathon is it makes me want to eat like Gilmore Girl

I'm glad you feel better about everything. I didn't post but I also remember hearing people talk about cysts and them not being a huge deal.

I would post more cookie pics but they are actually just like the ones I made before but in more fun tropical colors - palm trees and mini flowers. I also made flamingos but silly me forgot to take a picture of them. :headache:

Something happened at school today that is sort of stressing me out. Every thursday I have a meeting with one of my supervisors in the morning and then the therapy session a couple hours after that at 12:30. Well my client is going on vacation next week so she cancelled the session. My supervisor said we will still have our meeting at 10:30 so I can give her my paperwork, etc. But the weird part is then she said we can meet again at 12:30 :confused3 Why do we need to meet twice in one day within 2 hours of each other? So of course I begin to panic and think that I'm doing such a horrible job that I need 2 meetings a day with my supervisor  And I was talking to the clinician from last semester that had my client and she thought that was really strange too. :sad2:

And my other client's mother is in total denial about her son's language delays. What huge blinders she has on. The worst part is that everything I mention (coming more than once a week, leaving the room, etc.) she says "she doesn't see the point" or "doesn't think it's a good idea". Guess I better get used to it.

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday. Tomorrow is Friday! :woohoo:

:flower3: I would be just as upset to have to cancel my trip. I think it's even more salt in the wound that DH is not understanding. I hope that you can reschedule soon...even if it's a year away a PP was right....it's something to look fwd. too.

I am hosting a Tastefully Simple party tomorrow. yum! Luckily it takes place AFTER weigh-in. Anybody want anything??
I am hoping for a 1.5pd. loss but might be a stay-the-samer. We will see. I have done really good on food the last two days.

UM-I forgot to quote you but at least the party is after weigh-in! don't deprive yourself of anything..just have smaller portions. Or just don't worry about. Your DS only graduates from HS once...don't let your diet weigh on your mind all day. Enjoy yourself as if you were in Disney!!!

Okay, done eating for the day. I didn't eat my apple from my grazing bucket from before, so total before dinner was 570.
D: Two pieces of tilapia stuffed with spinach and cheese ($1 each from Walmart, frozen as singles), 220. Okra sauteed in a bit of cooking spray on non-stick pan, 50. Steamed broccoli over baked potato, 150.
S: Mich Ultra Amber (114) and apple pie a la mode kozy shack (70)
So total for today, 1174.

MA piglet, I LOVE sushi. One of my fav foods.

I bet the flamingo cookies were cute! I have never seen a flamingo cookie cutter before. Thank you for the encouragement!:goodvibes

On the school front I am sure you are doing a great job. I'm sorry that your supervisor is making you doubt yourself. The thing with your client's parents reminds me of some of my students. It can be so frustrating when you feel like you are trying everything you can and you aren't getting a lot of support. I really feel for you!! I hope things get better.

I have been watching Gilmore Girls whenever I get the chance all week. Last night, I was watching them as I was organizing my things for Disney. You are right, I do want to eat like they do. (Don't you want to try a cheeseburger from Luke's diner? ).

Thanks to everyone for their comments about Passporter D.W. 2007. All of you have convinced me that it's a good thing and I'm going to order one sometime Monday morning. :thumbsup2

I have an all-day student nursing orientation tomorrow and then my son's birthday party is soon afterwards and then my niece's b-day party is at the bowling alley at 9:00 pm tomorrow night. I probably won't make it on the dis tomorrow and so I'm going to post for weigh-in day now. I'm +2 pounds this week. :headache: Oh well. It could have been much worse considering all of the eating I've done this week and not to mention Aunt Flo is visiting. ;)

Geez...I thought it was a nationally known chain. It is like a Pampered Chef party but with FOOD..not tools for cooking it!! It's called Tastefully Simple b/c all the food kits (beer bread, dips, cakes, cookies) are easy to prepare..you only need 1-2 ingredients. I haven't hosted a party in years so no clue what diet-savoy things they offer. Either way it's all yummy and reasonably priced. The lady that takes care of my retired horse is the main host..figured I owed her a party for not charging me to care for him the last 3 years!!!! If you go to TastefullySimple.com it can give you a little taste!!

I just weighed myself. No clue why I do that at night. I am up 1.5pds but I am HOPING I can lose 2 pds. by AM. My stomach is growling now and it's almost time for bed.

Well, I had my doctor's appointment today, and I have to get an endoscopy done because the doctor does not want to put me on Prilosec permanently until he makes sure we aren't masking anything more serious. In the meantime, I have a nasty cold, and I have to wait until I am over it and then go off the Prilosec for 10 days prior to the endoscopy. Someone from "special procedures" is supposed to call me to schedule the appointment so I don't know when it is yet. I am NOT looking forward to it, but I will be glad when it is over. I don't particularly want to go on Prilosec permanently, but I don't want it to be anything serious either. So I'm not really sure what I'm hoping for. But the doctor did give me some advice regarding the weight loss, so that was nice. He told me to keep my heart rate up over 100 for about an hour rather than do high impact for a shorter period of time. And he also told me it can take women about 6 months to make a change in their metabolism. Wow! :scared1: He said the upside is that if you stop working out for a short period of time, your metabolism doesn't change back as quickly.

UM Congrats on DS graduation:woohoo:

Peeps- can I step aside and rant just a moment?

I have had a trip planned to Disney for July since October. Travel party included me, dh, dd1 and her BF, dd2 and my mom. We have gone in the past and taken my neice but since dd1 bf was going and I was paying for everything I couldnt afford to add one more. (niece is 14)

Well, my neice doesnt the most stable home life and has now moved in with my parents. Which this is great- I know she will be taken care of like she should be.

So this is my rant- I didnt plan on taking my niece with us in July and now she lives with my mom whom I did plan on taking and when I asked mom what we were going to do she replied- oh, niece understands that this trip was planned before she came to live here and knows that she cant go
I said mom- that is so MEAN! I cant believe that you would pack your bags and walk out the door with that child looking at you- she said she didnt see any way around it- WELL, I DO: MOM SHOULD STAY HOME TOO-

I did try to see if I could get niece on the flight with us and I was going to find the money somewhere and change all my ADR's and risk loosing a few but I cant get her on the flight with us:sad2: So I dont know what to do.

Right now I am so mad at mom that I'm not speaking to her:mad:

Thanks for listening.

I hope your cold gets better soon! I also hope that everything goes well with your procedure. Six months to change metabolism?! Wow!! Enjoy the Gwen Steffani concert. I bet she is fun to see in person.:)

Thank you! I think the cold is getting better. My head is just so stuffy, and I can't wait for it to get better! I hate feeling like this when the weather is nice! :sad2: Yeah, I thought that was a long time too. SO hopefully my head will feel better in a couple days, and I can get back on the bike. I am back to eating right. I just haven't had time to post totals. I am all about changing that metabolism! Thanks! I am looking forward to it!

Good Luck Tomorrow with weigh ins! Contact Lexmelinda if you are in need of a PM weigh in! NO one's ever done that. Just saying. We are soooo brave! Be early. Be BOLD, be Brave, be Bee (ha!).

i'm a samerthis week. i was down 1 on wednesday, but AF arrived yesterday so i'm not surprised. plus i didn't exercise AT ALL this week because i've been so busy with work. i'm caught up now so i'm hoping for a good number next week!

Thank you! I think the cold is getting better. My head is just so stuffy, and I can't wait for it to get better! I hate feeling like this when the weather is nice! :sad2:

i was sick the week we got back from vacation, too. that always seems to happen to me. i think my body is just completely exhausted and can't fight off anything at all, so i get sick very easily. hope you feel better soon!

UM - CONGRATS on jordan's graduation!!!! :thumbsup2

it's not so smokey here today, so i'm off to the water park to get some much-needed relaxation. the only bad thing is i'm going with wonder woman (a/k/a my fitness trainer/best friend) and i hate being next to her in a bathing suit! i don't expect to ever look like her though. i'm a realist!

Oops! Forgot my weigh in info! I'm at 228, which I believe puts me up 6.4 lbs. from my last weigh in 2 weeks ago. I was thinking a 5 lb gain for WDW wouldn't be too terrible, so I guess 6.4 isn't THAT far off, and I am not getting upset about it. I am back on the wagon food-wise. Once I get my head unclogged from this cold, I will get back into working out, taking my doctor's advice and doing low impact for longer periods of time. I am anxious to shed that 6.4 + some more for that September trip!

Popping in to record a 1.2 pound loss for the week. That brings me to a grand total of 28.0 pounds lost since the start of the year, and an uber-grand total of 52 pounds lost since April 2005 in about 10 non-consecutive months. I am now 33 pounds away from my goal weight of 155.

Congrats to the losers, and keep up the hard work gainers and samers! The fact that you posted despite not losing means that you are in this for the long haul. Good luck to all this week!

And just for the record, it isn't pop or coke, it is a soda. Everyone knows that! Just like everyone knows that you drink from a bubbler, sit on a davenport in your living room, and make sure you obey the stop-and-go lights at the intersection by da Fleet Farm. DS is supposed to go to Boys Scout Camp on Sunday and he is now sick:scared1: The same thing happened in December and he could not go to camp (he had the flu and strep together). I hope that it is just strep that way he should be good---he started complaining last night and strep is going around like wild fire here. Just say a prayer that he will get to go. He is already behind since he didn not get to go in December.

Maybe this is too bold but I do NOT think this is your responsibility. It is your mom's resp. to pay for her or not go. If your mom still goes then maybe you can take niece out to lunch and explain you just can't afford to have her come on your dime. Tell her you are sorry for how cold your mom is being. Perhaps she could fly down for 4 days or something?? Does she have any money at all? Maybe she wouldn't even want to go. I suggest talking to her. :confused3

The funny thing is my DS's name is Ashley so people thought my parents named us for Gone with the Wind. (There was a guy in the movie named Ashley if I recall) I did a speech in college on why people can't say my name right. This is how I think (bitter? nah!! ;) ) Tar on the road is obviously TAR. Add an A and doesn't that make TAR-A?? Now TERRA is how you should spell it for Gone with the Wind. Like TERROR?? Makes perfect sense to me but what do I know. I was just paranoid that the JOP doing our wedding would say TERRA. My dad would have had a fit!! (He didn't..my matron prepped him! ) I have tried spelling my name other ways..like TARRA, but it didn't do any good. Oh well. Things could be worse!! ;)

I'll talk to mom in a few days after I cool off- I just really think that if mom cant afford to pay for DN to go then mom shouldnt go either- mom took on the reponsibility of raising this child and sometimes when you are the parent you have to make sacrifices

DOWN 1 POUND!!!

OMG!!! This is the BEST stuff!!! I love the beer bread and the many dips! I also have LOTS of their seasonings and use them all the time!!! Have fun at your party!!!

June 1 = full moon. Things should be back to normal by Sunday!:flower3:

Now doesn't THAT explain it all!!!! :lmao:

I always think it's better to have the procedure in order to find out what it is or isn't! Let us know when it's scheduled for so we can say a prayer for you.:cloud9:

Son's High School graduation tomorrow morning. It'll be FUN. I'm sure I'll choke up and bawl the whole time. I'm SO proud of him!!!

Jordan should be all graduated by now!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hope you didn't bawl too badly and embarrass yourself like I always do at graduations!!! :rotfl2: Enjoy the party and have fun!!! :woohoo:

Congrats to all the losers!

daisy, good luck on the interview!

Tara, I just mimic whatever someone tells me their name is. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I introduce myself as Kathryn and people immediately call me Kate or Kathy... I am Kathryn. I accept Kat as a derivative but nothing else, and it always seems like people assume Kathy.

Ok, immediately when I read the first part I was thinking to myself, "Thats too bad... her mom cant go now". I just assumed that is what she would do! I think she is being pretty cold to think she should just leave her behind. Your mom should pay and find a way to get her there, or stay home.

That's a quote from Airplane! (I added the exclamation point because it is in the title of the movie, not because I am excited about typing that.) Striker (the main character in the movie) is having echoing flashbacks from when he was a pilot in the army, and he recites that line toward the end of the echoing flashbacks. I think of that line when ever I hear an echo. I don't think I listed that as one of my favorite movies in my bio, but I probably should have.

I was expecting to see a whole page or 2 when I came to log in today and it has been so quiet! I must be the only one stuck in the house all day today. The weather is hot and humid, and I dont want to take all the kids swimming today...so inside we sit.

You caught me! I was the genius behind the Peep of the Week. I did start it like you said with UtahMama and then planned on having a new one announced every two weeks. But then I went on vacation and my new semester of classes and therapy clients started and then I went away again and then life just happened and no one mentioned it so I just stopped it. I did receive many surveys so thank you for that. If enough people tell me they want to start doing it again I will definitely try to start it up again.

It has been a very gloomy and rainy day here. Perfect for laying in bed and doing nothing which is exactly what I have been doing instead of getting any work done. :rolleyes1

They are looking for ulcers or anything else that might be causing the hearburn/reflux other than just a bad valve, I guess. He just wants to make sure it is nothing serious causing the heartburn before we just start treating it with Prilosec permantly. I don't really want to be on daily medication permantly at my age, and the heartburn is worse when I am PMSing, so I really wish there was some other way to treat it if it's hormonal or something, but one step at a time. I guess I'll see what the enoscopy shows and talk to my doctor after that. I will take the Prilosec if that is what he says I need to do. I just want to know what my options are once we know for sure what is causing it. I am NOT looking forward to the test though. I know I won't remember it, but I have never had to be under IV sedation before, so that makes me a little bit nervous. And I am told that I have to be off Prilosec for 10 days prior to the test, I can't eat the morning of the test, and it will take about half a day to recover. I think DH is going to take me, but he hates hospitals, so I am a little concerned about that. I might have to have my mom ready as backup. We'll see. I just wish they would call me to schedule the darn thing so I know when it is going to be.

Lynda, sorry you're having to wait. I'd want to know too how to start planning. Hope all goes well. I'll just pray generally for it to be the best thing it could be since we don't know what that is.

Where in Mississippi are you from? As you can see I am from Hattiesburg. I have lived in Jackson and Oxford, but came back to Hattiesburg.

6 pounds! Oops, I mean, 6 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!

      (I get six dancing nana-men!)

Actually, I RE, re, RE lost that same weight. "Yo Yo, Yo-Yo, A dieters life for me"

I won't jinx it by saying "gone forever" this time! :rolleyes1

Anywhoo, I was face to face with the most scrumptious Costco Chocolate butter cream cake with chocolate mousse filling for today's graduation party. I ONLY licked my finger (twice) when some accidentally flew off the spatula.

HOODIA works! I swear! I often joke that I could live on Hoodia and diet Pepsi. I AM kidding, though. Or am I? J/K!!!!

Ok, now I have to go back and catch up with my Peeps. Oh, there's a t-shirt at Walmart with a marshmallow Peep on it that says something like, "Just hangin' with my Peeps" For SOME reason I thunk of the smaller sized of y'all! It's junior-sized....sm= 2T, med=3T, Lg.=4T etc. stretchy knit only stretches sooooooooooooo far, I KNOW!

Congrats on the weight loss to all you Peeps...and of course to the samers too!

The party tonight. Hmm. I did not do well. Of course there were all these dips left over when everyone left so we had to eat more. ugh. At least it is Friday. Then I had a hamburg Happy Meal for dinner. Lunch and bfast were AOK.

Then the wedding tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

My best friends and I were talking about starting to have kids and whatnot at the party...I was telling them we may start trying in WDW. My SIL's head spun around sooooo fast. #&*^^%#!! I didn't want her to know our plans..she is super nosey. I didn't realize she had was standing over to the side. I guess if she starts prying we will be hush, hush. I just hate her know-it-all, condescending nature. Oh well..what can I do.

Have a great night everyone!!

I stayed the same this week, and I want to thank everyone for their support. DH is having physical/emotional problems, and it's bringing me down too. This thread helps me keep going. I was very moody the other day, and I read about Sandy's (?, I think) inherited bird that says, "Papa, what the h***?". I laughed so hard I cried, and I couldn't even tell DH why it made me laugh. Then DD came home and we got in a big argument, and I sobbed myself to sleep. I don't usually have such big mood swings. I think it's a combo of family pressure, work pressure (just 2 weeks to go now!) and hormones. I feel totally exhausted.

So sorry and big hug to you. I think you're totally within your rights to be so upset. Hope you feel better soon, and DH gets over his case of menareputz.

I'm determined not to buy clothes until I'm in an 18. I started in a 28/30. I'm down to a 24.
Think I can find enough belts to hold my pants up? Ha. My butt is still big enough that my pants won't go past my hips without help.
So I started as "Super morbidly obese" and now I'm just "Morbidly obese."
Another 25 pounds lost and I'll be just plain "obese."
At 145, I'll be at the high end of ideal.
Just 110 more pounds to go! :rotfl2:

Good going. Would you ever consider shopping at a thrift store to tide you over? I'm lucky because I live in a city of about a million people, so we get great stuff at the thrift store in all sizes.

Could this be the one? I HOPE I am QUEEN.

I AM THE QUEEN---I SWOOPED AND WON!!! GOing to take a nap now. Woooo Hooooty!

ok now since we hit 15000 or are about too not sure whos coming in for the swoop i know im trying!!!
EVERYONE HAS TO DO SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL FOR HITTING 15000!!!

Woooo Hooooty to you too!

WTH WTH WTH///

wtfh is going on in the universe??

I just had a screamin match with a "man" in the stands of dd 4th grade concert - I stood my ground - he was rude, and I stood up to him, then his wife yelled that I might hit her son? what/
and I cant read here, but my friends are having bad bad things... and well life is wrong right now..
hugging my loved ones, and praying for the universe to right this mess!! Do you hear??? I want patience, and I want it right now...
No one is alone, no one... grab hold, the wagons are going to be coming up -

Isn't that, "Papa, WTH?" :rotfl: Anyway, I'm hoping now that the full moon is past, things can go back to normal (whatever that is).

for some reason this made me have a flashback to my obsession with the movie "fargo" and constantly saying, "we're going to aarrrrrrby's for lunch, don't cha know???" :rotfl:

DH and I were watching the end the other night. Great movie! Do you know I just figured out the other day that Arby's =RB's=Roast Beef. I felt like "Duh".

Just posted for the first time on WISH. Hope to do more of it. The plan for today is simply to stick to the diet. :) Good luck to everyone else!

:welcome: Hope you have fun with us here.

Oh, and we call it soda at my house too. I don't know why. My dad was from Arkansas. My mom is from Australia. DH is originally from NY, and I'm a CA native. With that combination, I always say it's a wonder I speak English.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!! :flower3:

I am sorry that you got up early and they were closed---they told us to call at 6 :headache: You know that was after my sister called them all a bunch of morons--not a good thing since they still had all but one of her passports :rotfl2: Hopefully all will be well. When does she fly out? I have faith that it will be here in time. My sister mailed hers, her DH, and DD #2 1 month before DD#1 and got DD's #1 passport a full month before she got the rest---go figure!

Today is a very busy day---all kids are getting much needed haricuts, birthday part at a small lake type water park---then here is the clincher--DS leaves for camp in the morning--we knew that he had to have full uniform for 3 weeks--already had the shirt because that is all our group requires, but for camp you have to have it all. Camp alone was close to 200 and we were paying for the church camp for the older 2 a the same time for another 400 and DH and I were leaving on our trip. We find out about uniform and the additional stuff was going to cost another 100--well we were out of funds for last month with all the extra going on. DH was in charge of getting the uniform and he left for a mission trip on Monday and did not leave the funds for me to purchase. He got back early yesterday morning. They went yesterday afternoon, but guess what--they were out of his size shorts. (We were able to get the rest of the stuff he needed) At the time we thought no big deal there is another scout office 30-45min. away we will call and see what they have--they have nothing  So now we call all friends to see if anyone has an extra set. SO far nothing. Now we have to drive 2 hours each way to get a pair of shorts for camp in the morning. Somehow I will fit this in DH day to do. The reason the shorts are this important is--with out full uniform on they are not allowed to go into the mess hall for dinner--I know it sounds stupid, but that is the rule----we might run to Wal-MArt and see if they have anything that might work--but they won't be official BSA uniforom shorts. Hopefully we will find them!!!

BEE

Bee and Dan and girls, many  being sent your way.

We figured out what the problem is with the world right now, there was a blue moon in May. Blue moons are the second full moon in a calendar month. The first one was May 2nd and the second was on May 31st. I'm sure we've all heard or said "Once in a blue moon......" Well that's what happened, the rare occurance sent life into a momentary tailspin.

I am doing better and DH is over his menareputz. He realized that even though things would've been tight financially, we still could've gone on our trip. The kids are making him feel bad for it which isn't helping him much. We are going to look into a short weekend trip somewhere with the family so the kids can have something fun later this year.

I had a really really bad night on Wed and it continued into Thurs. I finally broke and was a hysterical sobbing mess. It didn't take DH long to see that I was barely holding myself together and put me on a forced vacation. He called my work and told them I needed at least the rest of the week off and probably part of next week too. It's helped tremendously. I haven't done much of anything at all for the last two days. Of course, it's not fixing the underlying problem but it's helping me gain a bit of space and mental fortitude so I can go back into the real world and deal with everything again. Since we aren't going on our big trips this year, it's not hurting us for me to be off work.

I've got to run, my sister's neighborhood is having their annual flea market and tonight I'm most likely going to get to meet Lynda when she's in town.

Have a good Sat Peeps!

Trying to get a lot accomplished today. Has anyone done a photobook at Disneyphotopass.com? I recently did a photobook from my Europe trip and was beyond thrilled with the results. The Disney one is really not unreasonably priced compared to others considering you can use Disney copyrighted material, etc. But I was curious about whether anyone had done it - was pleased - or disappointed!

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE! :sunny:

Guess what DH brought home last night? A new scale!!! It's a Tanita (?) scale and it's fancy schmancy. You enter personal info and it gives you weight, BMI, water %, bone mass, and sumpn else I can't remember right now. Tells you how many calories to eat per day and gives you your metabolic age. I"M 19!! Yay! :yay: I love this scale!!

Passport update...I was on hold yesterday for an hour the second time I called and got a very tight lipped CM (can I call her that). She just gave me a lotta...Oh we're not allowed to tell you that. Anyway, I did find out that the passport is approved and just needed to be printed and shipped. I'm calling back today to see if it was shipped. DD leaves Wed. at 8am but I kinda lied and told them she leaves tomorrow. ;) At first I called and changed the date because I truly thought we put the wrong one on the passport but when I realized I had actually put the right date on the passport I didn't call to change it. Anyway....keep praying.

YIPPIE! Another year of dance for dd1 and dd2 completed. Now I can have some ME time in the summer time.

Thanks for all the hugs. Still dont know how things will work out with mom and DN. But I appreciate the listening ears and the cyber hugs.

Didn't do too bad on the diet last week. I'm really just trying to only eat half of what I normally would. I seem to be more satisfied that way instead of substituting "cardboard food" for real food. Our recital week traditionally includes eating out after practice and then a nice lunch before the show. We did Japanese on Thurs. I did sushi, soup and salad and picked off dd2 plate. DH tortured me with Pizza Hut on friday- got a salad and 2 slices of cheese. Sat we ate at J Alexanders(best steak I've ever had) shared a plate with dd1 with a salad. I had prepaid for dinner at the recital- dd1 had to do 2 shows- it was lasagna and salad buffet - we had such a nice lunch that I really wasnt hungry so I just ate dd1 breadstick (should have ate her salad but it was BREAD  )

So I gotta be really, really good for the rest of the week.

I hear ya UMA on the Yo-Yo,Yo-Yo a dieters life for me- (too).
I never really had a problem with my weight until my mid 30's and it just gets harder and harder the older I get.

Re-starting the exercise program TODAY. DH and DD1 are MAKING ME- not really - they are just going to go with me which always makes it eaiser.

Hi everyone.

Nothing makes me more mad than when you have a company out here fixing the crack in your basement wall and you say what about the small hairline next to it and they say it's fine and the next rain your basement leaks all over the carpet you spent a whole day drying and cleaning.

Back to drying out padding and carpet and trying to get the company back out here while Tim is flying out to Dallas again. Never fails.

Thanks, Jo! They fly into Paris on Thursday morning, stay one night and at dark on Friday they take the overnight train to Madrid. Then on to Barcelona, south of France (Avignon?), Florence, Nice, Rome, Capris....or sumpn like that.

Not going to the UK. (I would have notified you!) That's next year's trip. The aunties love her and are already talking about next summer which is England, Scotland, Ireland(?) Wow that sounds great, she'll be exhausted!!!!! And next years is planned too lucky girl :thumbsup2

Just come back from a lovely family bike ride in the sun and OMG does my bum hurt :rotfl2: and my thumbs  It was lovely though, tomorrow the DD's have got another day off school so we're off to Leeds Castle for a picnic :goodvibes

good morning.....um....i mean afternoon, everyone! i had a rough night last night. yesterday was my cheat day and we grilled out with some friends. ray made pork tenderloin, grilled shrimp, corn casserole, roasted veggies and strawberry/roasted pecan/blue cheese/greens salad. it was all very yummy and i decided to have some wine with dinner. well, one glass turned into two and then we decided to show them our disney videos from our trip and that turned into three, then four. this was over the course of like 5 hours, so no biggie, right? WRONG!!!! i guess since i've been dieting and NOT drinking at all (other than maybe a margarita once a week) my tolerance has gotten really low because i got SO SICK! :crazy2: that's the 3rd time in my 30 years that i've gotten sick from alcohol. but i wasn't drunk....just sick. very wierd! anyway, i ended up in bed by 10:30 (very early for me) and i woke up at 4:00 this morning and didn't go back to sleep til like 7:00, i guess because i went to bed so early and just wasn't sleepy any more. but i got caught up on a couple of TRs, so at least i was productive! i didn't wake up this morning til like 11:00, so there goes my sunday! luckily i didn't have anything planned.

hope everyone had a better night than i did! on the bright side, my best friend from high school called me this morning (that's what woke me up at 11:00) and they're coming here on wednesday for a rest stop on their way to disney and they're gonna spend the night! so i'm excited about that! :yay:

oh, and jo, how cool is it that you can say you're going to a castle for a picnic? that's so awesome!

Wow! This thread is great! I am only on page 4, though, so I guess I will have to skip around. I need to lose around 50 pounds total. I was hoping to have lost around 20 by the time we leave for WDW- but with it being only 7 weeks away I will settle for more like 10+, which by my doctors standards seems to work. Lately, I have been trying Bob Greene's best life diet. It encourages eating 3 meals a day, exercising, taking supplements and having a cut off time each night. I finnally found a way to eat a nutritious breakfast by have a Slim-Fast on the go. I have been getting sick a lot lately, so it has totally screwed up my results AND my gym schedule. I have mostley just been watching portion sizes, and if I do eat junk on a splurge, watching my calories. I am really bad at following eating rules. Usually when I have needed to lose wieght in the past I just ampted up the exercise. Its much harder for me now. I am 24 and have been steadily gaining since I was 18. I had Lyme's Disease about 6 summers ago and it messed up my metabolism, I feel like I have to work twice as hard just to lose half the wieght.

I know we take it for granted though, the castle is doing a special deal where if you buy a day ticket you can go free all year and it's only 10 minutes up the road, so we will definately use it, last year DH and I went to a concert in the grounds we saw Tom Jones :rotfl2: he was actually really good :thumbsup2

Hey Heather! They left at 4 am! This is the first year I am not going. It was kind of sad to watch them drive off without me.:sad1: But Brian is taking me to Vicksburg for a romantic 2 night get away at a B & B! :cool1: Are you going to Dry Gulch? Are ya'll taking a charter bus? Dry Gulch is a fantastic camp. I will miss it this year.
Hey, yes I will be going. The first year we went I was pregnant with Joshua, then last year I think I spent all of out time at the ER with different kids, and this year I am pregnant again! We are taking an Express Charter bus and leaving at 4. I had a parent meetingthis morning at chruch and all the kids are excited. We are taking 38 kids -- down from last year, but that is ok.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome!!!!

Long irritating weekend here. I had some kind of emotional break on Saturday. Just started crying about EVERYTHING and then took a bunch of %^* out on DH. It wasn't fair and I feel horrible about it. I just feel overwhelmed about a lot right now. My dad is selling his house to move in with DGF. There is no hurry on this...his DGF already has a house. Anyway, the house is medium sized and needs a TON of work before he can list it. Plus, I have endless amounts of crap there as well. Right before my mom got sick my gma moved to a nursing home so her stuff is there too. I took about 1/2 of my stuff already but there is more to sort and go through. Not to mention all my mom's stuff! :guilty: Plus, there is a ton of stuff for my garage sale this summer. Nothing better then hauling crap from one house to another and then selling it. :headache: I would have a sale at my dad's but he lives in the country and doesn't have a garage. I don't want to donate it b/c I could use the money. Anyway, I stopped today to try and find slides from our WDW trip in 85. I found 10 boxes of slides of years 76-88 but no Disney ones. ***?? My dad says they are around somewhere but it was frustrating. I just wanted to see them. So I was upset about that. :sad2: I think seeing them would have cheered me up. Then he tells me he is listing the house in TWO weeks!!! Are you kidding me??? There is no way he will have that house ready to show. It is a mess!! :scared1: Just the landscaping alone...it's all weeds. He really let it go since my mom died. I told him to wait until late July. Then I can help him everyday once I get back from WDW on the 2nd. What's one month?? Grr. I am going to email his DGF and see if he really is listing it in two weeks. He works the B shift and sleeps all AM. I don't see him getting the rooms painted and whatnot. So anyway Peeps..I am stressed out and want to scream!!!!!

DH and I started painting one of our spare bedrooms as well. When we bought the house it was a hideous pink. I finally couldn't take it anymore (leading to breakdown!!) So we went to Home Depot and decided on Main St. USA yellow from the Disney paintchips. We just finished it a few minutes ago but I have to do the trim next weekend. It's a little bright but I secretly have plans to put stencils of white mickey heads on the walls if we have a baby. ;) We have another bedroom to do (color Tinkerbelle) but it can wait. I had read that home improvement projects are the #1 thing that causes fights with your sig. other. Yeah..they are right about that. It was our first project together and very stressful. We got through it though.

I am pooped. I still weigh the same after all the crap I ate at the T.Simple party Friday. Phew!!!! I hope everyone else is having a great weekend. princess:

read that whole site myalli.com

and read most of the book in walmart.

what i gather is that the starter kit a one month supply will be like 49.99 to 59.99 a month.

The other thing is that if you eat more than 15g of fat in one meal your punishment is running to the bathroom :rotfl: it blocks the absorption of excess fat there for giving you the treatment affects as they call it...

1. gas with oil spotting.
2. loose stool
3. multiple bowel movements.

so in essence this is to train you.. so that you control your portions and your fat intake.

With the peeps approval of not taking diet pills, which was an oath..

I am asking you all to not judge me if I go ahead and end up at Walmart on June 15 and get the starter kit and try this plan out...

Because this may just be the one pill that does work.:grouphug:

yes, that is absolutely correct! but once you get used to working on the house with each other, it'll get better. ray and i used to fight whenever we did anything to the house and we still bicker a little bit now, but we've become a pretty good team! we've painted every room in our house except for our living room and i'm dreading it because it's cathedral ceilings which means we'll have to rent scaffolding....:scared1: not fun! i guess that's why we keep putting that room off!

hope you get in a better mood. life will get easier....it always does after it's hard for awhile. by the way, do you think your moodiness could be a sign of pregnancy? i know you guys have talked about trying.....maybe you got lucky early in the game???

I wish! We could have started any time since I have been off the pill for quite awhile but I didn't want to be pregnant in WDW..esp. if I am lucky enough to have a rough bought of morning sickness. I tend to hold a lot of stuff in and block it out...so then it all comes pouring out at once. I went from crying over the ugly pink room with craploads of clutter in it to my gma dieing to my dad and the house to money worries. I guess that is what makes me a woman!

He had a realtor come a few months back and told him he had to paint a few rooms. There is also NO carpet in the family room. Just bare rough plank floor. My mom had pulled up the rug b/c our old cat had peed on it an then she got sick before they bought new carpet. It is hideous..not even hardwood. Just planks (I think the room used to be a garage) I still have to email his DGF and see if 2 weeks is really what he is thinking. Sometimes he has a warped sense of reality. He thinks the house can just "poof" go on the market but we all know it can't. He knows he will not make much ont he house, if at all. I think he plans to get 40K less then what it is appraised at b/c it needs sooo much work.
Nice idea to meet with the realtor as well. I also trust his DGF to tell me what the deal is.

Thanks Peeps for being there for me. You know I jump on here for a smile before I even call a friend. For some reason you guys seem so honest and non-judgemental. I just want you guys to know I appreciate it. :flower3:

My DSis called me tonight. I told her about the house and she broke down. She has emotional problems and is just getting her marriage back together after dealing with a drinking/drug problem. She has a 2 yo DS. I love her but she is very unstable. MUCH BETTER then she was before she got help. Anyway, she just broke down. Saying when DD sells the house she won't have a home to go back to anymore. She was hysterical about missing my mom and how she never got to meet her son. It was heartbreaking. I know she is upset that DD has moved on so fast (started dating DGF 18 mon. after my mom died. They actually dated in high school too while my mom and him were broken up for a few months!!) Anyway, it's just so hard. I am the glue that holds this family together (like you Punkin!!) and I am sick of it. I feel like she is weighing me down like an anchor. I know it sounds harsh but it's just hard to hear the same things over and over. I give her my advice (she is seeing a therapist) but I don't think she hears me. I know she just wants someone to listen but it's an emotional rollercoaster for me to be on. I am just getting my life heading in a direction I have worked VERY hard for and it seems like everyone is pulling me back. She says going thru my dad's house is hard for her. I told her it is for me too but we have to do it. When I told her I am going to sell a lot of mom's knickknacks and stuff she got upset. I said we aren't selling the memories..just stuff. Stuff my mom would say is junk and to get rid of! She is 7 years younger then me so a lot more immature in life. She said she has a ton of guilt b/c she was a bad teenager (and she was!! :scared1: ) and has all this guilt for being hard for my mom to deal with. I told her she needs to forgive herself (there was a great lesson on this on Oprah Friday!) but I know she isn't ready too. I am rambling...it just helps to get my thoughts out. Too make a long story short it is just hard b/c I feel as though I am being mentally drained. It's just hard. As soon as I can get through this house stuff I know a huge chapter will end. Thanks Peeps.

My DSis called me tonight. I told her about the house and she broke down. She has emotional problems.
First of all, here's a big  . Also, some sympathy for being the glue that holds the family together. And finally, do they have Empire carpets where you live (you know with the funky commercial with the catchy song?) My mom just got a carpet from them, and they came out the same week she called, and gave her a very good price. maybe dad would consider it if it was no hassle and cheap!?!?

I am not sure if we do but there are super cheap places around here for sure. The problem is he has no money. I think he had $2 in his account last week while waiting for his paycheck. I do not have the money to lend him either. I bet he just sells the house as is and takes a loss. Only b/c he won't think that finding a way to buy a cheap carpet will make him money in the long run. I just emailed his gf to see what she thinks of all this. Thanks for the hug. :goodvibes

I have been off the computer all weekend due to my friend visiting... I have somewhat caught up but I don't remember everything.

Eventer, sorry your weekend was so rough. I so know about the DIY projects and marital issues though! I thought DH and I would get a divorce when we moved into the house (and we had only been married for about 5 mos!).

I did okay this weekend. My friend is 6 mos pregnant, so at least it didn't turn into a drinking binge like it usually does when she visits. Man, though, it really helped solidify my desire not to have children!

Saturday we drove to Wilmington... stopped at subway and I got a kid's meal (mini sub + apples, 225 cals) and a wow chips (75). Packed a cooler w/ apples and 100 cal packs. We stopped at Ruby Tuesday's on the way home and I had the petite sirloin, mashed cauliflower, and broccoli (206+166+129=501) and the salad bar w/ light ranch, so probably about 600-700 total. Finished out about 1100 cals and drank tons of water.

Today I wasn't as good... had about 400 cals worth of b-fast food for lunch, and about 500 for dinner (150 in 3 taco shells, 80 in one soft taco tortilla, 100 in shredded chicken filling, and 170 in a poblano stuffed with refried beans), but I also had a sugar free margarita (60) and a bottle of wine (450) for about 1500 calories. It was my day off. :rolleyes1

Good news, though, I weighed in this morning at 195, back to my pre-WDW weight, and I fit into my size 14 jeans. A bit tight, but still, buttoned and zipped with no shoehorn!

Hope everyone had a great (and skinny) weekend!!

Hi everyone! I would LOVE to join. I have been overweight for my last two trips and I am ready to get back in shape.

I have six months until my 36th birthday and my first Christmas trip to the World. I joined Weight Watchers last week. I need to lose 34.8 pounds~

I will be weighing in on Friday:love:

YAY!!! Welcome, Welcome! Post often. Post whatever you want!

http://www.myalli.com/

here you go ladies who wanted the answers and the know how available JUNE 15th...

read that whole site myalli.com

and read most of the book in walmart.

what i gather is that the starter kit a one month supply will be like 49.99 to 59.99 a month.

I read the whole book ($5.99 Walmart). It's very helpful in a general sense. BUT, did you see the part where they advise you to wear dark colored clothes and bring a change of clothes to work JUST IN CASE YOU CRAP YOUR PANTS???? Oh NOOOO! I would be soooo scared of THAT! I would get a depends or something. I'm going to wait to see what others say about it. I don't eat much bad fat but I'd reeeeeally worry about the crapping of my pants or OILY gas!!!! That just may be my deal-breaker. It does NOT enter your blood stream (or VERY little does) and doesn't affect your central nervous system like all other diet aids do. It strictly works in you intestines absorbing fat. Good Luck Aries! NOT one of us will judge you! Promise you'll let us know if they work! Any tool that helps you like the fear of pooping or gas just may work, by golly. For now, I'm on the fence for using it. I like Hoodia. It works for me pretty well. I know for me it's not a placeebo-effect because nothing helps my nighttime ravenous hunger

Did I tell you guys the TRAUMA I had with fat free Pringals? They have that fake fat Olestra...and it goes straight through you and you had better be eating them ON a toliet, just sayin'!!! I can not tell you the gross exit those chips made! It was an oily explosion...the best way to describe it. It FLOATED! :scared1: Now, have a nice day...((LOL!!!))

I'm so bad. I giggle when we see commercials advertising drugs with a side effect of "greasy BMs." No thanks for me. In my biggest eating days, that's what my mama's Thanksgiving gravy did to me. However, the threat of that would definitely keep me away from fast food and bad choices in restaurants.

GOOD MORNING, PEEPS! :sunny:

I talked to Fidge last night and she is improving but still not well. Please keep her in your prayers.

Passport: I am currently on hold with the passport information center. Either DD's passport is overnighted TODAY or she and I leave to drive to Chicago TODAY...THIS AFTERNOON! We will have to spend the day at the regional office in Chicago tomorrow to get a passport. PLEASE PRAY THE PASSPORT WILL BE COMPLETED TODAY!

CHICAGO AREA PEEPS... I need advice. We will be driving up I-65 and need a stopping point just south of Chicago for tonight if we have to go. Please pm me with some advice.
I am the glue that holds this family together (like you Punkin!!) and I am sick of it. Aw, Tara! Things get so emotional when cleaning out a house after someone has passed away. My husband does it every day and he has cleaned out his own mother's house after her death. You're so right about the nic-nac stuff....it's just the material things, not the memories. I hope that things improve when the house is sold.
and it goes straight through you and you had better be eating them ON a toliet, just sayin'!!!What am I...5 years old? I snickered through this whole post.

CHRISTINE....I do not judge. You are a grown woman but I think the best advice is always to make healthy lifestyle changes for permanent weight loss. Anything that makes you lose control of your body sounds a little scary to me.

NEW PEEPS.... :welcome:

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Good morning Peeps!

I had the hardest time falling asleep and now I can't stay asleep. I'm gonna be really tired later I can tell.

I talked myself out of going down to the clinic to study AAC devices (of which I have a test on Wed). I have to use 5 devices with one of the lab technicians. And I've yet to look at them. But our professor says you really only need 5 hours of practice so I'm going there early tomorrow before all my classes. Plus it's not like I will be doing nothing all day - I have a video critique and 2 article reviews to get done today. And go to the mall to get my mom's birthday presents. I'm kinda excited about that part

Melinda - hope this passport thing works out and you don't have to drive to chicago! How far is that from you? And I don't mean to pry but what exactly is ailing you, Fidge? I only ask because I don't recall her having a chronic condition like I know some of the other peeps have (back issues, etc.) That has me extra worried. And I miss your typos

Re: oily BM. :scared: I experience this whenever I eat more than a happy meal at McD's or Wendy's, etc. If it happened all the time - :scared1:

So anyway, a busy busy week for me so I can enjoy my mom's Disney Birthday weekend without school stress hanging over my head. Hope everyone has a great Monday! :goodvibes

My friend told me that the other day!!! I can't wait to go. We are going to FL in 12/08 and 1/10 so I will have to make a special trip to Universal that Jan. DH has been dieing to go anyway!!! :wizard:

Know anything about stenciling?? Do they even sell Mickey Head stencils?? Hmm.......

I have the same issue w/ ff pringles and anything olean. However, I will admit shamefully that if I am really craving my favorite "bad" snack (chips and dip), I will eat those and ff sour cream dip, knowing that they won't stick around, so to speak. Is that bad??

Ariel and others, I would certainly not judge someone who took alli. I actually wasn't aware that we took a diet pill oath... I take the Mega-T Green Tea w/ Hoodia and I feel, like UM, that it helps with hunger in the evenings (as well as energy for exercise). Is that a no-no here?

Hey peeps! Been MIA for a few days and just got through reading the past few pages....didnt quote since it is all old news, but :grouphug: and :wizard: to thsoe that need it! And welcome to our new peeps! You will love it here.

Had the dance recital Sat....exhausting but fun. All my kiddos did great and I got some really nice gifts from some parents. One of which was a card with CASH, something I was not EVER expecting! She is getting a super duper thank you from me in the mail this week. I was just so shocked and touched that she thought so much of me to do that-I wont share the amount because it isnt important really, but it was above and beyond to say the least. Anyways, I am glad it is over for the year, but sad that some of my kids I have been teaching for 3 yrs now will be in Kindergarten next year and wont be there for me to teach :sad1:

I will be sure to share pictures later...got to upload them to photobucket first and resize them.

OH-
And, I read the Alli stuff this weekend too. I honestly think I may try it too. I get no side effects from the olestra stuff like FF pringles. And I am not always the most regular, so it may actually help me in that way ;) The 150 capsules would last quite a while, long enough to see if it was really making a difference or not at least.

Hey Dance- check this out-

I got a letter in the mail yesterday from the ballet studio "inviting" my girls to audition for their Company(competition team). The letter said that they enjoyed teaching them last year and were impressed with their dedication to classes and their talent- so good so far right?

So here's the kicker- the "invite" to audition has a stipulation of completing 20 hours of technique class- the cost $280- for EACH of my girls-

Sounds to me like they were more impressed with my checkbook than my girls- this is the part about competition dance that just burns me up- I dont mind paying for what they need to participate but $560 for an "audition" fee? If they were that impressed, the audition should be free- dont you think?

Just thought that might interest you.

The girls are going to audition at their other studio- and that audition is open to anyone and is FREE-

Fire at Downtown Disney West Side Closes Shops Temporarily

June 4, 2007 -- A car fire in the parking lot at Downtown Disney West Side created lots of smoke this morning, forcing several Downtown Disney shops to close. ALL EARS® friend Beth F. was on the scene and shared this photo while the fire was still burning. The fire was eventually contained and shops are operating now as normal.

I want to cry! I just got an email that I will have a new clinic assignment in addition to what I already have. I will now be in "camp" Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12-3. There goes my awesome schedule for the summer. I know I could use the experience but I do not need all these extra hours! Not at all. This completely sucks. And she didn't even tell me when to start - so I responded that I'll be out of town this Friday and Monday so I can't start til next week. Yeah right they are making me cancel my Disney trip that has been planned for months when they give me 4 days notice. I don't think so. I am so bummed out right now. Hopefully this won't require too much outside work because I'm swamped already as it is. Ugh. Ok vent over. I know this is the real world and I better get used to it but it still sucks to finally get myself in a routine only to have it altered dramatically with an additional 9 hours of work.

In less than a month we head to the beach with another family. Since I am gone the week before we are gone and the 2 weekends prior we are meetingthis weekend to discuss the menu for the week. We are doing casual breakfast each day and I will cook one morning, casual lunch and snacks, but want to have nice dinners. SInce it will be 4th of July week when we are gone we really do not want to go out to eat. So here is what I need---I need some quick, nice dinner ideas with dessert. I know that you guys can help me out. Thanks in advance--we meet on Saturday to plan.

It is only about 10 minutes up the road and our tickets are valid for a year so we will be going back, the DD's really love the castle  There is also a great play area, enormous aviary and birds of prey display. They also do special events, last week they did jousting!!!!
I am super jealous Jo! I love anything castle related and my friend and I wish we could train our horses to joust (they are too slow!! :rotfl: ) what a great summer you'll have!

did you guys hear about this? i saw the words "fire" and "disney" and my heart jumped up in my throat!

The fire was eventually contained and shops are operating now as normal.

here's the link:

If I saw fire and Disney in the same sentence my stomach would flop as well!!

Talked to my dad's gf today..she convinced my dad to hold out until I could help him (July 7th) He also called and asked me to set the date when we should list. I said Aug. 1st. That gives us 3 good weeks. My dad is very irrational at times but when someone shakes him he comes around. He also told me he would sell the house to my sister for only what he owes (half the appraised value I think) but they have bad credit and no down payment. I wonder if he would let them make payments?? He doesn't need the mortgage off his credit b/c his gf already has a house. BUT my sister and her DH are not that great when it comes to money so it might be too risky for him.

Melinda-I hope you got the passport $%& figured out!!

That sounds yummy--I love cole slaw.

here ya go!

coleslaw mix:
1 1-lb bag coleslaw mix
5 green onions, chopped
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup slivered almonds
2 packages ramen noodes, broken (beef flavored - just the noodles, the seasoning packet comes in later!)

dressing:
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 packages seasoning mix from ramen noodles (beef flavored)

mix vinegar and sugar together until well blended. add ramen seasoning. mix in oil. add to dry mix 30 minutes before serving. dressing should be mixed either night before and refridgerated or two hours prior and refridgerated.

i don't know exactly how much this makes, but i usually put it in a huge mixing bowl with aluminum foil over it and it lasts us a few days (but there's only 2 of us!). the longer the dressing sets in the coleslaw, the better because the noodles will kind of soak it up.

enjoy!

The girls are going to audition at their other studio- and that audition is open to anyone and is FREE-
:rotfl: A $280 AUDITION fee? That is too funny. No self respecting company would charge that kind of a fee for an audition. Maybe a $25 or $50 application fee or something but I have never heard of that kind of fee before. I got an 'invitation' for my daughter to be in a local pagent. The invite was similar and the 'entrance fee' was a similar amount too. They claimed that all the kids won something and it was a no pressure, no make up type of pagent...yeah, right. Sign me up. I have extra cash laying around so she can win a plastic trophy :rotfl:

About 2 weeks ago we got a letter in the mail inviting us to the academic awards ceremony this coming Wednesday because DD(11) would be recieving an award (We think it's an award for being on high honor roll for the entire school year). :thumbsup2 We are so proud, but had a dilemma. DD(13) goes to the same school and she didn't get a letter. DH and I want the whole family to go to the ceremony for DD(11) , but DD(13) knows lots of her friends were invited and will be getting awards and she in embarassed because she would be sitting in the audience while her sister and friends would be on the stage. Well I get home from work today and there is a message on the answering machine, inviting our family to the academic awards ceremony for DD(13) as she will be getting an award!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Apparently the office was just informed that DD(13) would be getting this award so they hadn't sent out a letter and seeing as it was so late they called. SO I called DD(13) into our bedroom and told her that DH and I were insistent that she go to the awards ceremony! (I'm so mean!) She was near to :sad1: about it so I said well just listen to this messge on the machine....PLayed the message and she was jumping up and down and dancing all over the place!!!! She said an academic award isn't as exciting as a sports trophy, but she never expected to get an academic award. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I told her it could be the Physical education award seeing as she's received 100s every quarter and played on a couple of school sports teams.

:welcome:

Well, there sort of is. (I'm not saying where it was taken. You'll just have to read my trippie to see it later. ;)) I don't like me in it quite as much. Then there might be some nice ones of us with the castle on the Photopass CD, but the problem is the height requirement on the siggie images. I really need a landscape photo. And unfortunately, I wasn't THAT crazy about the new picture we had taken of us with Stitch. Maybe the Photopass ones will be better then the one they took with our camera, but my hair was wavy that day, and I just don't know about it. It may change again, but for now that's it. There's also a pretty good one of us with pooh: Who knows what I will end up with...

If you are in need of a passport, you have my pity. I have lived, slept, eaten, and breathed this issue for the last week. Let's hope it is resolved today! Thank you all for your well wishes and good thoughts.

Package still hasn't left New Orleans. DD's plane leave Cincinnati mid afternoon tomorrow so if the passport arrives tomorrow a.m. we can drive her up ourselves. Anybody know a big shot at FedEX?

OK, opinions please?!? How's the new siggie pic? I might change it again after I get my Photopass CD, but for now, I think this is the best I can do. Y'all told me I needed to change it, so what do you think?
I love the pic.
SHe is hoping for the phys ed award!
:cool1: :thumbsup2 Congrats!!!!

THE PASSPORT SAGA CONTINUES...
There is a tracking number but Fed Ex has NOT picked up the package. The passport misinformation hotline CM told me that if we go to Chicago and the passport ships out in the morning, they won't issue us a new one....they'll probably tell us to go home and wait for that one. So we wait......

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT NEED A PASSPORT! :sunny:

If you are in need of a passport, you have my pity. I have lived, slept, eaten, and breathed this issue for the last week. Let's hope it is resolved today! Thank you all for your well wishes and good thoughts.

Package still hasn't left New Orleans. DD's plane leave Cincinnati mid afternoon tomorrow so if the passport arrives tomorrow a.m. we can drive her up ourselves. Anybody know a big shot at FedEX?

KAT....Your food yesterday sounds yummy! I especially like the sound of those spicy noodles!

HAVE A GREAT DAY, ONE AND ALL!

YIKES!!! :scared1: Sending more pixiedust: your way. I wold think that since your flight leaves tomorrow afternoon---that if you drive to Chicago they should issue you a new one regardless if it has been shipped. They can't expect you to wait until the last second possible!! I hate their system. Ours went off without a hitch and then we ended up not needing them--bought one for all the kids because of the guidelines at the time that were changed the day after we sent ours off:headache:

Good Luck  How is your daughter handling this?

Good Luck  How is your daughter handling this? Thanks, Heather.

DD is fine. She was the screamingest, most colicky baby in the world (she cried AND I cried for weeks) and I guess she got it all out because she is the most easy going, even tempered individual you will ever want to meet. She is not upset or emotional but knows that we have done everything we can.

My hope beyond all hopes is that the tracking number was entered wrong and the package is indeed on its way. (I did not find any consecutive tracking numbers in the FedEx system.)

The passport agency notified Sen. McConnell personally of the shipment. Looks like they'd be wary of screwing up that one. :scared:

When I was a little girl my dad was my knight. He would get me ready for school, and make me breakfast. I remember honey buns with peanut butter.

I remember one time when the kids were mean to me at school and I ran home in tears. My dad walked me right back to school and talked to the teachers for me.

I remember how he was so excited that he got me a big stuffed purple dog for my bed that matched my bedroom. I would also lay in bed at night and wait for his little orange pick-up to get to the top of the hill. When I heard him coming down the hill, I knew it was safe to go to sleep cause Dad was home.

When I was in high school we got a miniature long haired black and tan daschund. The dog’s name was Sanj. Well Sanj was supposed to be my dog. However, it was soon evident that a dog had stolen a mans heart. We lived in a condo, we didn’t have to do any of the outside shoveling. Sanj had a certain route he had to take when he went outside. He would go out the front door and in the back door. When it snowed my dad would go and shovel a path so Sanj could get from the front to the back. One time Sanj was sick. Dad was told he needed a special diet. My dad stood in the kitchen and made Sanj hamburger and rice. Dad had heard a song on the Dr Demento radio show. He would come home and sing to Sanj. Dead Puppies are no fun. When dad moved to his apartment, he had to find a home for Sanj. When Sanj passed a few years later, the people we gave Sanj to wrote dad a thank you letter. Telling dad about his dog. They thanked him for sharing his dog with them . My dad was not an emotional man, but when he read their letter to me it was the only time in my life I saw my father weep.

Sometime when I was older my dad became my friend. We had many serious talks and many lighthearted talks. He was my father, my friend, and my counselor.

My dad was a lover of gadgets. I have no idea how many times he ordered something he saw on television. He would say “hey Bee I saw the neatest thing on television.” From slicers to bags that were to brown food in the microwave, if he thought it looked like something we could use he would get it.

He loved to play games, pitch, fill or bust, well any cards. When my brother and I were young we would have family nights that we would play Euchre they entire evening would be filled with the teasing of a family. I will miss those days.. He also loved to try and play with people. I remember when Mike was in high school. He had the boys over and dad bought near beer and would serve those boys beer all night long, then the boys started to act like they were getting intoxicated. Dad thought that was funny and he laughed and showed them that they weren’t even drinking real beer. He thought that was so funny. When my dad laughed it was infectious.

His love for his family was so great. We are blessed that even though we were not ready to have him leave us, and he was not ready to go, Neither my brother or I will ever have to wonder if he loved us or if he knew we loved him.

My father was never a man who said I love you. He was a man who showed it by going to work, even when he was sick. He showed his love for his family by hard work and dedication. Several years ago I taught him to say it. There was never a time as we aged that when we parted either on the phone or in person we didn’t say I love you. I will always treasure the times he said it first. I love you kiddo, or Bee.

He loved his grandchildren. They tickled him immensely.
Tori- very smart, maybe too smart for her own good.
Dani- very funny like her dad.
Kaliegh- so cute and quiet like her mom.
Then there were the boys- Connor and Cole- he just got so much joy out of watching them grow.

He recently spent time with his mother and sisters. He was happy when he came back because they had made tentative plans to have a family reunion this summer or fall. He was so excited he talked about it more than once with me. He could not wait for his mother to see his grandchildren.

He would be so humbled by the people who showed up here today. I know he is here with us standing over us and looking down with utter amazement.

Dad- you were loved.

Hey- I am new to the board, but I wanted to say hello and that I feel your pain about a passport. My friend and her husband and family just left for Eurpoe, but up to a few days before they did not have their passports:scared1:

We live in Louisiana and they ended up having to drive to New Orleans and stand in an unbelievably LONG line, but they left with their passports.

When they got there one of them had been FedExed and they got it also.

I send a lot of hugs your way and hope they come soon:) :goodvibes

Bee What an amazingly, sweet, touching, AWESOME tribute to your father!! and you know what they say? Apples and trees - you are like your father, he taught you so much that you are giving to your girls - I feel like I know your father thru you!! Thank you so much for giving of yourself, and for sharing such a piece of your heart with us!! I am saddened by the loss of such a tremendous soul - and I send you my sympathy - and ask that God in his Mercy send His peace, may you feel His love, and His peace, and may you be comforted in it!! :grouphug:

Thanks, Heather.

Passport stories like this have inundated the news here - they are forever showing the lines to try and get this resolved - and the stories are like yours - out of town, plane leaves, all non refundable air fare, travel packages - most tell that it is in the mail - they do try, but there have been layoffs in the government - never at the top, always at the grunt level!! It doesnt do any good to come and stand/sit in line for hours, esp when you see and hear everyone in front of you with similiar stories!! I do think FedEx will show up today!!

WELCOME 3C's!! :cool1: :cheer2: Thanks for sharing your experience - it matters!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY, ONE AND ALL!

I really hope this passport thing gets resolved today... sending pixie dust that the fedex man is on his way to your door.

The singapore noodles were really easy.
-Take a bag of rice sticks (700 cals in the bag) and soft them. (Boil water, takeit off the heat, add the noodles, then let them sit for 10 min.
-Cut up half a red onion, a zucchini, some bok choy, a green pepper, and some mushrooms and started stir frying them with a little bit of cooking spray, salt, pepper, and some red chili flakes. You can add any veggie you want to this mixture. I also add cilantro sometimes.
-Add the shrimp (500 cals) and stir fried until the shrimp were done.
-Added the softened noodles, some spicy szechuan sauce (you can find it in your ethnic aisle, our super-walmart has it), and soy sauce. Adds about 25-50 cals in sauce.
Total for the recipe, ~1250-1300 cals. Makes a TON so would easily serve 4.

I need to rework my exercise plan I think... add more weights and less cardio. Any suggestions? (esp. from someone w/ a trainer) I am just doing a weight circuit twice a week and I think I need to target different muscle groups more.

Hope everyone is having a skinny day!

I am too new to know what the problem you are having is but it seems like something with Fedex, and in that case I understand! Though, my missing bathing suit was no where near as important as a passport! :goodvibes I am sending you good vibes!

When I was a little girl my dad was my knight. He would get me ready for school, and make me breakfast. I remember honey buns with peanut butter.

I read this yesterday at my father's funeral.. Poeple came up to me and said that they had never been more proud of me then they were right now.

WOW..

That is very touching and sweet and it made me cry. You are very talented for being able to write such a heartfelt memorial to your father. That was so wonderful of you to share. My heart is with you. :flower3:

here ya go!

coleslaw mix:
1 1-lb bag coleslaw mix
5 green onions, chopped
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup slivered almonds
2 packages ramen noodes, broken (beef flavored - just the noodles, the seasoning packet comes in later!)

dressing:
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 packages seasoning mix from ramen noodles (beef flavored)

mix vinegar and sugar together until well blended. add ramen seasoning. mix in oil. add to dry mix 30 minutes before serving. dressing should be mixed either night before and refridgerated or two hours prior and refridgerated.

i don't know exactly how much this makes, but i usually put it in a huge mixing bowl with aluminum foil over it and it lasts us a few days (but there's only 2 of us!). the longer the dressing sets in the coleslaw, the better because the noodles will kind of soak it up.

enjoy!

This sounds so yummy! Can't wait to try it! :thumbsup2

Success! :cool1: (or a modicum thereof...) I just put on my "three-sizes-too-small-haven't-worn-in-three-years" pants and they FIT!! I put them in the washer for tomorrow! Still got quite a way to go, but I'll take progress where I can.

Plus I just ordered some non-"W" t-shirts from Land's End -- not gonna fit in the pants yet, but I believe the shirts will be perfection! :thumbsup2

Of course, this all comes on the heels of falling down my deck steps on Sunday night. I was an idiota and wore flip flops on a wet wood deck and wouldn't you know I slipped right down. Thank gracious I have several levels to the deck and didn't fall down the complete 17 steps! ACKK! Anyhoo I have a BRUISED back and bum, but nothing broken. I've been icing and alternating between laying down to keep from swelling and walking/moving around to keep from stiffening up... Ah well, I've done this before. I seem to have a case of klutziness that flares up around steps...

Bee...Your tribute to your Dad was touching and obviously heartfelt. I don't know how you got through reading it at the funeral, but I'm sure everyone was glad you did. It was beautiful.

Melinda...Any news on the Passport yet???? Still praying. :cloud9:

Scale hop this morning was promising. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it where it is or lose more. That would be good.

Made homemade split-pea soup this morning in the crock-pot for dinner. DH asked me to, so I did. That will be dinner. Should be delish! :woohoo:

I wish knee-length swim suits were in fashion. My top half is just fine ("FINE" ;) LOL!) but my thighs need a thigh-master. Or lipo. Or magic. Or exercise.....or magic!!!!

So, I stick to an opaque sarong! You can make one out of a couple yard of sheer co-ordinating fabric. Just do a narrow seam and voila! Hotty at the pool... with cute kids in tow, and a large iced beverage!

I am just the opposite... my legs aren't too bad but my upper half is miserable. I carry all my weight right around the middle ala Michelin. :scared:

I might buy that swimsuit... not sure if I need a 14 or 16. Probably 16 but maybe I will get the 14 as a reward for good behavior.

i guess since we haven't heard from melinda this afternoon that may mean she's on her way to chicago. i hope not! how frustrating! :headache:Sitting right here at the computer all afternoon pressing "resubmit" to see if FedEx has picked up the passport in New Orleans....and they haven't. It's still sitting there on some lazy passport official's desk I guess. So frustrating to know that it is there...approved, completed, packaged and bearing a FedEx overnight express label with our address on it and just hasn't been picked up.

When I told DD tonight that I didn't think she would be going to Paris tomorrow she sat down in the kitchen floor and cryed. No words. No yelling. Just sat down and cried.

My heart breaks for her because the Paris portion of the trip was what she was really looking forward to. So. Now we are on to extreme option #3. The last leg of this tour leaves on Friday and those folks fly directly to Madrid. I am on hold with the Passport Misinformation Center RIGHT NOW and I'm going to request an appointment to have the passport reissued in Chicago Thursday morning.

We did not go today because we were told that if the package shipped today, they wouldn't reissue it but would just tell us to go home and wait. At that point we were still hopeful it would arrive in time. No more. If they turn us away in Chicago, at least I will know I've done everything I can.

Glass half full....Madrid on Friday. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

Bee - your speech must have been beautiful

Melinda - for you and DD  I hope she at least makes it for part of the trip. I would be utterly devastated.

My day was pretty craptastic. I had a headache and felt nauseaus and light headed all day. Like I was in a fog. I'm not getting sick though. I just felt weird. I think a lot of it is stress. Like I mentioned yesterday, I was already stressed out with tons of school work this week when I got an email that I would now be working at a camp for children with Cerebral Palsy and other similar disorders for 9 hours a week (mon, wed, fri). Turns out that it starts Monday - the day i get home from Disney. I explained all this to my supervisor who was very understanding. But then said I could make it up the following Friday by coming in at 9 instead of 12 and then leave when camp ends at 3  Whatever.

And what irks me is that I find out today that they were actually supposed to be hiring someone to work the camp but didn't find anyone, so they just stuck graduate clinicians that were free in there since they're free.

The "bonus" is that I get a lot of clinical hours. (I wish you could note the sarcasm in that last sentence). Let me put it this way. I need 60 hours of clinic treatment hours to move onto my internship in the fall. Some struggle to get 60 but most get between 60-75 hours over a 2 semester period. What about me you ask? Well with this new addition to my schedule I will have around 130 hours. Yet there are students just starting clinic that actually need these hours and here I am with more than double what I need.

Add to that the fact that they didn't even ask if my schedule would fit it in. I don't, but I could have gotten a part time job since I do have extra free time with my school placement being over. But a friend of mine that also is doing the camp actually did tell the supervisor that she didn't have a lot of extra time for a new client because she had applied for a couple jobs to make some money before internship (where we work full time for free). They obviously didn't care because they assigned her 8 hours a week.

It's just ridiculous and I'm so over this school and the program. I was already getting stressed out and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. They actually had me questioning if I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. Making me doubt myself is not the way to prepare me for a successful career in speech pathology. Anyway, I think my vent is over. For now. I've been such a grump since I found out. The only good thing is that I'm going to Disney this weekend :goodvibes That is the only thing keeping me from completely going ballistic right now.

Anywho, hope everyone had a great day. It had to have been better than mine

Oh no Melinda. to your DD.

My totals for today:
B: Cinnamon mini-swirls (120)
L: Sandwich (120), pasta salad (130), yogurt (70), ff ruffles (75)
S: Apple (55)
D: Pork chop (300), artichoke (60), smart beat light tbsp (45), salad (100)
S: 1 cup frozen raspberries (70) + ff whipped cream (10)
1155 total, exercise was 18 min on the elliptical and a TON of weights (about 35 min worth), I really stepped it up today. Tired as crap tonight.

Hope everyone has a skinny night and Disney Dreams!!

Melinda and DD  and tears - its so not right, you will drive all the way to Chicago and fedex will have the pkg on your doorstep at the same time your turn comes up - that does break my heart too!!

shall I meet you - give me a call - I PM'd my cell, not doing anything on Thurs I'd love to bring you a smile if I can! (ask Lynda, I can smile!)

all the Peeps, :grouphug:

Shannon, I wish I knew :sad2: why dont you have someone to ask (ok complain in a good way?!!) It seems so obvious on paper, what is it run by beauracraps?

this ole laptop keeps shutting down - and I have to convince it to reboot - I go to some sights (like following the link to disney shopping) and the internet "POOFS" on me?? like wth?? it takes a few hours to convince the internet to come back, please come back... there's a ritual of unplugging involved... dont ask me why, I'm not "technologically advanced" :sad2:

today was PICNIC day - Pto parents were supposed to walk to park and do stuff (special important stuff... sad stuff... remember a classmate who passed away...) BUT no, the weather was yucky - from maybe I'm going to rain, to SUNSHINE and warm... to maybe I'm gonna rain, and its COLD out here... weird... I was spent!

and someone called off tomorrow - the last day of school!! (full day!!) ok, fine I'll take it!!

nighty night!

oh, and DD 10 is all signed up for "Miracle Camp" a 7 day sleepover camp - so exciting - its in Michigan .... www.miraclecamp.com...

Well, I have that exact bathing suit! I would say that I am pretty well porportioned in my wieght gain. Maybe carrying a little more in my mid section... nothing that really effects this bathing suite overall fit much. The site says to order bathing suits one size larger than your dress size. I did this. Kinda. It seems to fit alright. Although I am on the looser end of 12/ tighter end of 10 because of my hieght I chose to go with a size 12 (1 size up from my "tighter" size) because I am only 5'2" tall. I would suggest if you are between sizes, like me, to do this. Otherwise I would say to follow the directions and go up a size. Also, it is easily tailored. I have sort of hemmed the top to give me less length in the straps and it is perfect now. I think you could probably easily tailor the bottoms as well because the ties on the side would hide any alterations. Hope that helps!

Could they at least consolidate the hours to one or two days, so you could actually contemplate a PT job? And what about global warming? they shouldn't have you driving there for just a 3 hour shift (OK, that's a little bit sarcastic, but in a way, it's true). Thanks for all the hugs and prayers. I'm exhausted....not much sleeping here the last coupla days. DD's trip departs in 20 minutes and she's not on the bus.

We actually contemplated sending her and her boyfriend to Chicago last night at midnight so they could get a passport this morning and then get her a flight from Chicago to connect to her international flight but DH put his foot down on that one. I was so afraid they would fall asleep driving. I know I would've.

So to Chicago this afternoon. Sandy's probably right...they'll ship the package today and it'll be on our doorstep when we get home from Chicago. That would be par for the passport bureau's course. Plus it's gonna cost $$ to change the international flight at this late hour.

And I also agree with Punkin...things happen for a reason. This has been a learning experience for us. And so...the kid travels to Europe on Friday. God willing.

I promise to be back to my normal, boring self next week.

HAVE A GREAT DAY! :flower3:

My day was pretty craptastic. That is so wrong that others need the hours and you don't yet you get given them! How long till the course is over and you're qualified?

Thanks, Jo.

My SIL just called (I have 3 SILs going on this trip to Europe) and said that to cheer up DD they've decided to take her back to Paris for Spring Break.

Who knows if it'll work out but I thought that was really sweet.

Melinda GOOD REASON you didnt drive or let your dd drive to Chicago last night -

HUGE accident on the Skyway (from I65 IN into Chicago) I think there was about a 2 hour nobody move on the skyway - a bus and a semi hit - something like 34 people were transported by ambulance - I think it was around 2 or 3 in the morning - I kept thinking I hope Melinda didnt drive last night!!

:wizard:

Here's my theory btw - I dont know if "things happen for a reason" necessarily - but instead - I believe God uses man's ineptness for His good if we let him! {hugs}

Hi Everybody !!! I'm not sure if a lot of you remember me or not, it seems like FOREVER since I visited this thread !!!

For those of you that do, here's a quick update and explanation of my absence.
After we returned from our Suprise trip with Lexie in March we had 3 deaths in our family. It was an AWFUL time around here for all of us. Then just when we thought things were going to be good for a while my great grandmother passed away May 24th. In a way I am thankful she is gone and out of pain, and in another way I'm sad because she was one of the neatest people I knew and could always count on her for telling the best stories to me and my girls. Anyway, before I short out my laptop with tears, I thought I had cried them all out)
During this time I ate back all the pounds I had lost and found about 10 more that managed to make a nice lovely home with the rest of my unwanted tenants that reside in my hiney. I came to the realization yesterday that I needed to get off my hiney and start evicting them, so here I am.

You all helped me before, and I could really use it again. Brandon leaves Friday for 33 days and I would really LOVE to pick him up from the airport a little lighter than what I am on Friday. I don't care how much I lose as long as I feel better, get moving, and start making better food choices. I would LOVE to be a skinny minnie by the time Caylin and I take our trip in September and I know I can I just need a little help.

I will weigh myself Friday and start from there since weigh in is Friday, or has that changed? If so let me know and I 'll go from there.

speaking of bathing suits, i finally ordered the one i had told you guys about yesterday. i figured dance is busy and just hasn't checked the boards in awhile and since thinktink gave me some input, i went with a 12. i'm wearing size 10 pants right now, but i know how big my backside is and i like to keep it covered in a bathing suit. i'm pretty sure i'll have to get the top taken in since i wear a small or medium shirt. i'm so wierd!

Dawn---- I haven't worn a swimsuit in forever, let alone had my picture taken in one, LOL. But trust me, if I could fit one that the size even started with a 1 I would gladly post a pic for ya ;)

Shannon and Jo Finishing my TR is another goal I have !! I have actually been working on a new installment today and hope to have it up by Friday. Since Brandon will be gone teaching his new cadets how to find their way out of the woods, I figured I would also try to find my way out of this slump. And what better way to do that than to finish a Disney TR ( and help Caylin with our Pre trippie :thumbsup2 )

Melinda I'm so glad your daughter gets to go on her trip !! Caylin was actually supposed to get to go this Summer, too. Actually up until last Friday she and about 30 other students were going, long story, that will have us and the other parents  until it's straightened out. But I am glad your situation worked out and she gets to go..... lucky girl !!

Okay, I'm off to help Brandon finish packing and finish my dinner preparations, and maybe add some more to my TR !!!

melinda, so glad your DD got her passport!! Hope she has a wonderful time.

punkin, I checked out a few piece of your TR, and I agree, you don't look like a 12. Let us know how the swimsuit turns out.

Does anyone know if they sell those suits in the Disney stores? Also, DVC members get 10% off at disneyshopping.com and I think AP holders get a discount too (I don't have mine today so can't login to the AP website).

duncanssweetie, welcome back! I have joined since you left. There is plenty of room on the wagon!! I, like UM, found a bit of lost weight (on my WDW trip) and am working on losing it again, hopefully this weigh-in will be a good one.

SORRY to be so late in seeing this...wanted to reply before I got to read the rest of what I missed.

dance, did you say something awhile back about getting this bathing suit or was i just imagining that?

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DSIProductDisplay?catalogId=10002&storeId=10051&productId=1203563&langId=-1&categoryId=20603

the reason i'm asking is it's on sale for $14.99 and i'm thinking i might get it. i wanted to know how it fit you.....if the top or bottoms ran big. my bottom is bigger than my top and you can't buy them separately. just wondering what you thought of it. thanks!
Yes, I did get it and it is SO cute in person. (I got it on sale too!) And it runs big, very big. Like I am a 16 now and that is what I ordered, and the bottoms literally fall to the floor on me. Nice feeling I guess, but not so nice for swimming :rotfl: Get it, maybe order 2 sizes and return one that is not right.

2 words for you....Swim skirts. LOVE them. You can get a solid color one that coordinates with your top and put it over your bottoms, good to go. I love a swim skirt. My thighs are pretty meaty :rolleyes1

Ok, off to catch up on the rest of what I missed. Sorry to drop the ball and not be here for your shopping needs girls!

My day was pretty craptastic.
:grouphug: I hope things turn around for you!

Funny that I said the exact opposite! Maybe the bigger in size, the more off in size they were? Because by the logic of ordering up a size, I would be a 14 and I am not a 14...yet! I was able to take a tuck in the bottoms right by the ties and it looks fine. The top fits ok in the 16...but I am unusually large up there, for now at least.

I got me some new BLING!! I am sooo happy!
I know its not much, but hey its 5lbs...GONE! whoohoo!
5 pounds is not nothing! That is great!!

Phew! Now that I am semi caught up.....I have been MIA because the weather here has finally decided to become summer. We have been at the pool alot the last few days, and went to a baseball game last night. I love summer :goodvibes And it has done wonders for everyones mood being able to burn off some energy outside this week.

I have also been off doing research for my surgery. I think I have picked my surgeon and we set a tentative date for July 17th :goodvibes I go back to him for a pre-op appt on July 3rd and we will narrow it down from there if we need to change it at all. (we have to do some preliminary bloodwork and a mamogram- since I am not old enough to have ever had one they like to do one before surgery and after.) So barring an unusual results form that I will be getting myself all done up on the 17th. I have been scouring the internet for before and after pics, and looking up Dr records. Such a scary process, but one I know I will end up being very happy with having done in the end. I cant wait to buy bras in a regular store, or get a shirt in a size other than XL because it has to accomodate the twins :rotfl:
