I have orthotic (expensive) inserts for shoes,Corcs, a heel stretcher device,frozen reusable bags and theragesic cream but I was looking for actual exercises that might help rather thanmore devices. we leave for Disney in a month and I dont want to be in agony again and I refuse to be the fat girl in a scooter
Have you tried the injections? I had them a few months back and they really helped. Sounds like with all your issues that may be the only solution for you. Do you do any of the stretching exercises at all? My Dr said I had to do them about 3 times a day at minimum to really help and I can tell when I dont do them.

It was a hard week for me. I ate every thing I should have said no to!. I'm going to blame it on my Moon Time! Which must have been very moody to let this happen, it didn't effect me last month. Oh well I must do better next week!

Oh I want to see the ravens at the Tower of London! On the day we went to London I chose Buckingham Palace but I much would have rather gone to the Tower! All sorts of great things in there. Okay next time... when my daughter is older. Looks like a fun trip you took and great exercise you worker off the rice crispy I bet!

The stretch is a good one I have a fallen arch and when I do the stretch it helps a lot. Plus Orthotics are a charm for me I have to wear them every place. I just started being able to wear heals for a short time again, oh how I miss them... probably why I have this problem in the first place! When I was 13 I was told to stretch my calves with a towel or stairs, I didn't do it, now my arches fell. So I think that the key is the stretching, the orthotics are the support after the fact. Wish I had listened! So now I floss more too!

Come on guys I need more than just London, another clue - The Queen keeps some valuables here! And they are pretty impressive!
Melinda don't we all want to visit the places furthest away? I would love to see Australia, New Zealand and of course lots more of the States. The funny thing is though that I went to Paris last year and visited more things in 3 days than I have done in London on numerous trips!

OK, a few ideas for you...I have it bad and heels spurs to boot. So my podiatrist gave me some bands to wear. They go around your foot in the arch area, sort of look like a small ace bandage of sorts. They were cheap, maybe $10 total? I will check online for a pic of them. They really help give my feet extra support which helps release some of the pressure on my arches, which is what causes the heel pain. You can also buy gel heel inerts for your shoes. Those help a bit.
Mine hurt really bad after sitting and trying to get up again...ouch. He said first thing in the am, and anytime after sitting before standing up, to stretch. Basically just use a towel or something to help you pull your toes up towards your shin. You will feel it. Your leg doesnt have to be straight though- if it is you will feel it in your hamstrings too. Also, after exercise or at the end of the day when I am hurting, ice works well. Get a bag of frozen peas (or 2) and sit it on your heels. It really helps the inflamation. He also gave me a prescription for an anti-inflamatory when it is really bad.
There are lots of good shoes out there. The key is to go to a store that knows how to analyize how you walk. They can recommend the right shoe for you. A running shoe store can do that.

Then I also take the foot and make circles, think figure 8 roll the ankle, or loosen up the ankle... sure is hard to explain while my foot is pointing I go up down and around making a circle with your ankle -
I also have to apply ice paks regularly, my ankle swells impressively! and I havent worn heels in so long... I used to have to use a cane to walk, now thanks to crocs I'm better - I have inserts, I tried the "WALKFIT" ones on infomercial, and the arch is too high, they arent doing it, if you have a CVC pharmacy they sell them for $19.99 (My ankle turns in/pronates, so my arch is yucky!!) Now, I'm better, but I shouldnt walk barefoot, ever.. but I do, I just learn to live with the pain, and then go back to crocs... cant wait to wear my "Moonstruck" heels!!

You went to the Tower of London, and isn't the first one London Bridge? I showed my DH. He REALLY wants to go to London!!!! Are the Ravens the guards in the Red outfits that stand around the Tower? I went there when I was a senior in high school. I didn't appreciate everything I saw like I would now. :sad2: I do remember the jewels, and was very impressed. I hope you had a wonderful time! I also have this problem. I once saw a podiatrist and got cortisone injections in my feet and did 3 weeks of physical therapy. I saw a surgeon first, he offered to cut on my feet and I said no thanks I'll wait until I cant walk. I went to the podiatrist when I was walking on the sides of my feet. The cortisone helped. Along with alot of motrin and the PT. What I am doing now is similar to what they did. I bought a parafin bath and dip my feet in the warm wax, wrap in plastic bag and then a towel. The warm moist heat helps to relax the tendon and make the stretching exercises eaiser. I can usually walk alot better after that. Also I have noticed that when my tennis shoes are getting old my feet hurt more. Also wearing your shoes all the time, even in the house will give your feet more support until the inflamation gets better.

That podiatrist- I thought he was "hot", like Dentist "McDreamy" then I found out he was my husband's niece's future husband :eek: :laughing:
The side effect of the wax is smooth soft feet- just in time for summer. Hope you feel better. Give it some time to heal.;)

Just a quickie before I go to bed ( well after I've watched Lost and that is so darn complicated I can't Dis at the same time!) The bridge is Tower Bridge, the Ravens are the birds which apparently if they leave the monarchy will fall and the guys in red are called the Yeoman of the guard. They do a good guided tour but as we were with the girls we did our own tour. :laughing: London Zoo is next on our list as we've never been there!

Snow I have PF and I have been using an arch strap, not the one dance showed you, I ordered it from footsmart its a felt band that wraps around your ankle, then there is an elastic band that wraps around the bottom of your foot, you set the tightness...it might be better for you...Ilove mine
the exercises I do are the ones denes link showed and I also sit with my ankle on my opposite knee and pull my toes backwards and hold it for a count of 10, and do this 3 times, (30tretches) 3 times a day
also, ice makes my foot hurt worse, i find that if I put the heating pd on my foot it feels much better...
I havent t4ried heat. I have beenicing because it is inflamed. I will give it a try though. Cant hurt.Might help;)

No. I am TERRIFIED of needles. I had both kids natural childbirh and not one shot after my recent surgery. I just cant do it. Uh Ah .No Way Jose. I was asking about what exercises to do. My chiropracter ordered my heel inserts and my insurance does not cover podiatry.

I know I had to be deligent at first, but I still get swelling, crocs are a HUGE help... as are the exercises (and when the ankle is huge, and the pain horrible, advil and ice!!)

and the reality of Brittany and Anna Nicole, is too sad for words - the media needs to shut up and pick on people that can defend themselves!! I pray for that baby, obviously Howard is a weasel that kept anna in drugland so he could control the money - and the baby is the key to more money- I've heard the only one that hasnt accepted money for any appearances, or pictures is Larry Barket - he seems sincere, but with hollyweird, who knows? Too sad!!
HEy, any reality tv junkies out here?? I LOVE LOVE LOVE Reality TV, survivor, AMAZING RACE... but the BEST part (for me) is the spoilers, since filming has wrapped for those 2 shows. . . I gotta know... so I have the scoop - yep, its been spoiled for me!! YIPPEE I know who goes!! before it airs!! I feel more comfortable knowing, so I dont get caught up in it!! lol

Thanks to all of my friends for your good wishes. I enjoyed being with my family today, even with teen and DH drama (Hey, I'm the b-day girl! I shouldn't have had to put up with that; stomp, stomp). I have to admit, I succombed a little to the french fries. I asked the waiter for a substitute, and what did he have to offer? For an extra $2, they would give me potato salad :confused3 . Like that would be healthier. So I took the fries and ate 10 of them. They were good fries, too. I love them at the beach for some reason. Anyway, I felt proud that I controlled how many I ate, and when they brought me b-day ice cream, I ate only half of the little sundae cup. I also worked out this morning before church, so I'm hoping my b-day angel and some warm lemon juice water wisk away the b-day calories.
Stacy, just keep the clown away from my daughter. When she was about 3, she waved to all the characters in the Electrical Parade, and made me wave too. When the Dumbo float came by with a clown on it, she yanked my arm down and growled, "DON'T WAVE TO THE CLOWN, MOMMY!":rotfl:

Had church stuff all day. Half way through small group I felt another migraine coming on, but didn't want to get up in the middle of it to take medicine. So I waited too long. I watched the Oscars with one eye open while DH rubbed my head and neck (he is so sweet!) Anyway I have taken a muscle relaxer, immitrex and Loratab. The headache is better, but you would think I would be tired!

I had not seen any of the movies that were nominated for Best Movie. We have a "No rated R movies" policy for church staff and most of those were R. WOW! I guess everyone was watching the Academy Awards last night so not much catching up to do here. I stayed up about 3 hours past my bedtime, though, so I will be dragging around today.
The Departed won best picture and Martin Scorsese finally won best director but I was asleep by then. Don't think I need to see that. Didn't like Goodfellas cause all the violence is just not for me.

Happy Monday everyone!
Back on the wagon again today and I am in for the exercise challenge. :yay: I even wrote it on my calendar as to which days/times I am going to do it this week. I am STILL sick, but maybe I can sweat the rest of this cold away. It is supposed to be nice here again today so that should help me stay motivated. For some reason when it is cold all I want to do is stay home and eat. When it is sunny and nice, I can manage to keep myself on track.

My opinion on Britney Spears- she will crash and burn. We will find her dead one day. I used to think "Fed-ex" was a bad parent but he looks like a saint next to B. I think Lindsey Lohan will also crash again and the Olsen girl (which one is it?) will never recover and may starve herself to death one day. All too sad.

Thanks to all of my friends for your good wishes. I enjoyed being with my family today, even with teen and DH drama (Hey, I'm the b-day girl! I shouldn't have had to put up with that; stomp, stomp). I have to admit, I succombed a little to the french fries. I asked the waiter for a substitute, and what did he have to offer? For an extra $2, they would give me potato salad :confused3 . Like that would be healthier. So I took the fries and ate 10 of them. They were good fries, too. I love them at the beach for some reason. Anyway, I felt proud that I controlled how many I ate, and when they brought me b-day ice cream, I ate only half of the little sundae cup. I also worked out this morning before church, so I'm hoping my b-day angel and some warm lemon juice water wisk away the b-day calories. Glad you had a nice Birthday, you were so good with your meal I'm not sure I could have been that restrained!

I am on staff as the youth director. I work with all the children infant to high school. I mainly focus on Jr. high and high school. I also direct our child care center which has about 175 children. I am in graduate school right now working my masters in early childhood education so I can teach college classes part time. Life is pretty busy these days. But I love what I do. My hip has been better, the darn migraines are frustrating. I hat to be slowed down. Thanks for asking. I am always careful to try and prioritize family time.
I did some checking on Screenit.com The Departed says the f word 237 times!!! 237 times? That is unbelievable. I just don't think I could sit through all that even if it did win.

He was only 43. :eek: He kept us all entertained over on the CB. He will be missed dearly. :sad1: I didn't even "know" this person in RL, but he touched so many people with his humor.

It is really sad. You ought to go to pokemon_master's profile. He did a memorial to him on his profile page. It is very well done! He is only 17 years old, but he and MJ provided a lot of entertainment on the WPASADI board.

Everyone, I just registered DD(13) and I for a 2 mile fun run for our City's St Patrick's day celebration on MArch 11. (yup we're early birds here!) It's kind of like our unofficial beginning of SPring here (tho sometimes we are running in the snow!..It could be 20 degrees or it could be 60 degrees, you never know in NY) There is a long St. Patty's day parade which is kicked off with a 2 mile fun run. They get about 2500 to 3000 runners.

(must not eloborate... its always hard to know what to say when an unexpected death occurs, I just know from having friends die too early, or having miscarried, but I know they mean well... it just hit that nerve - maybe too close to home!!)
It does kinda remind me of Reba McIntyre's song "If I had only known" she made that after her crew died of a horrific plane crash (she was supposed to be on that flight, but something came up..)

Thank you everyone for all the well wishes. Eeyore45 thanks for the roses --DH usually sends me some to work, but as of now none have arrived. Tonight we are going to Olive Garden. We are celebrating in May when we take our trip alone. We have not done a trip by ourselves since '98 when we went to London and Paris. The kids were 3.5 and 6 mths and the time. So this will be a nice breather before #4 is born. In May we are going to Coral Reef and I have a diver set up to do the sign and then the special menu to keep. We are also eating at LeCelliar. Taking the Keys to the Kingdom To the Kingdom Tour as well.
Stacey I am there with you on the movie thing as well.

So we may be taking a trip to the dr. if his fever doens't come down soon. Happy monday to me!! So I think I'll hang out here and pretend I'm at disneyworld.

I am jonesing so bad for a disney fix but I just don't think it's possible anytime soon. We do have APs that expire in April but with the cruise and my school schedule I don't know if there is really any time. Maybe after I get some stuff done this week, I will really look at my school schedule and see if there are any not-too-bad weekends to go.
I have 2 exams this week. The most important one is Tuesday night. Usual procrastinator me has hardly studied so you know what i'm doing tonight and tomorrow. But please send some pixie dust that I do well (need an A or B). I have another Wednesday night that I'm not as concerned about but still need to pass so send a little extra pixie dust for that one too if you can spare it! Thanks :flower3: !
And exciting news! I can eat again! I actually remembered how to chew and I'm eating! Still eating slowly and not too huge of bites because I'm paranoid that way but I'm eating. And still counting points and staying on track with WW. But I'm having a hard time getting my water in lately. Not sure why because usually I just chug away. Maybe I'm out of practice.
Yesterday I walked FOREVER! Went with my DB's family to a museum/festival/garden thingy and we walked so much I actually started to break a little sweat. So yay - got some exercise in!

It is sad to say that this tragedy has made me appreciate my family so much more! I should appreciate them everyday, but you get busy, but this has made me look inside myself for some good ole self reflection. Matt did such a good job on the tribute, especially since he is so young. I have decided to tell my DH that if anything happened to me, he would have to come on here to the Peeps thread and let you know. I don't want to think about such things, but y'all are my friends, and I would want you to know. :grouphug: I truly love you all! :love:

Okay, finally have time to tell you the weird thing that happened to me last night...
About 8 pm, I decide I'd better fix myself some dinner. I'm cooking my fish (Mahi Mahi from Costco, eat it once a week or so) and I eat my salad. Fish gets done, I look for seasoning for it... Mrs. Dash Extra Spicey (used it before). I'm eating the Mahi Mahi with the Mrs. Dash Extra Spicey when I realize my lips feel numb... like novacaine numb. And my tongue feels "funny". I look in the mirror and there are places on my tongue where my taste buds are so swollen and the tongue underneath (in a spot the size of a pencil eraser) are so swollen it looks like it exploded. And there are 2 or three of these places on my tongue (the worst being right in front). My parents live nearby, so I rushed over there, showed them, and then took some Benadryl when they agreed that it was an allergic reaction (if it had been worse, I would have taken the Benadryl first). Took 30 minutes for my tongue to unswell (was still red) and hours (til after I was asleep) for my lip to lose that feeling. My daughter woke me up several times throughout the night until I was "normal".
I've eaten both of those things (fish and seasoning) before and within a week or so... now I don't know which I reacted to. Silly science teacher in me wants to to a controlled experiment and figure it out... person who doesn't like the numb lips and swollen tongue says "forget it... stop using both!"
Anyway, that's my weird story of the day.

He did throw up the apple juice and toast he had this morning. Yuck! I hope I don't get it because I'm a real whimp when it comes to throwing up. This nasty bug has been going around my town and his friend came down with it about a week ago, so I'm not suprised we have it. He's been laying in my bed all day so I'll have to change the sheets before I go to bed. :laundy:
Anyway, thanks for asking! I just hope the other 3 kids don't get it too.

That's no fun! I would guess it's the seasoning, I think the most common reaction to seafood is for your throat to swell and not be able to breathe, but then I could be wrong!

Okay, finally have time to tell you the weird thing that happened to me last night...
About 8 pm, I decide I'd better fix myself some dinner. I'm cooking my fish (Mahi Mahi from Costco, eat it once a week or so) and I eat my salad. Fish gets done, I look for seasoning for it... Mrs. Dash Extra Spicey (used it before). I'm eating the Mahi Mahi with the Mrs. Dash Extra Spicey when I realize my lips feel numb... like novacaine numb. And my tongue feels "funny". I look in the mirror and there are places on my tongue where my taste buds are so swollen and the tongue underneath (in a spot the size of a pencil eraser) are so swollen it looks like it exploded. And there are 2 or three of these places on my tongue (the worst being right in front). My parents live nearby, so I rushed over there, showed them, and then took some Benadryl when they agreed that it was an allergic reaction (if it had been worse, I would have taken the Benadryl first). Took 30 minutes for my tongue to unswell (was still red) and hours (til after I was asleep) for my lip to lose that feeling. My daughter woke me up several times throughout the night until I was "normal".
I've eaten both of those things (fish and seasoning) before and within a week or so... now I don't know which I reacted to. Silly science teacher in me wants to to a controlled experiment and figure it out... person who doesn't like the numb lips and swollen tongue says "forget it... stop using both!"
Anyway, that's my weird story of the day.
Are you gonna make sure Jay the hunky trainer is available to do mouth to mouth? or should we send the Fireman...Fidge has him i think...

eeyore45 I've got an appointment for 2 weeks from tomorrow... and I'm staying far away from the fish and the seasonings until then. I'm kinda wondering if it wasn't the seasonings... it is a blend and I remember one particular seasoning being really strong in one bite, the problems started after that. Deal is, I don't know which it was... I just remember thinking it was strong and that I had tasted that flavor before. I kinda hope it isn't though 'cuz I just read the label... there are 21 ingredients and most are common herbs/spices... I'd never figure out which one it is.:confused3

I finally finished my paper. I think I will go to bed. Tomorrow will be busy at work and tomorrow night we are taking all the youth to a baseball game. So I will check in when possible. Now watch tomorrow everyone will get all chatty and post like 10 pages.

Happy Anniversary to you and your DH Piggett!
I had a decent day overall. I got in 40+ min of exercise. WHOOHOOTY! The food was ok, but I did eat over my points. Better than not counting them at all I suppose, and at least I got my exercise in. Planning to do more tomorrow- probably longer too. It is supposed to be super nice here tomorrow so I plan on taking the little boy I watch for a LONG walk in his stroller. He is only 10 weeks old so he is a very willing participant for as long as I can last :goodvibes I also teach tomorrow afternoon, so that counts too.
Off to bed, have an early day tomorrow- Good night Peeps!

Posting my totals and marking my place...sort of. I am probably not going to be able to go back and read everything I missed for the past 3 DAYS! It has been crazy around here! And I am a bit overwhelmed, so I have decided to just pick up here. Hope everyone is well! :grouphug: I stayed within my calories and drank my water on Friday and Saturday. (In fact, Friday I drank about 150 oz. of water!!! It was helping a lot with how icky I was feeling due to AF.) Sunday was cheat day, and here are today's totals.

Holy ADD Batman! I cannot stay still and study longer than 10 minutes before I am distracted by something! I need to focus!
But before I focus, I was talking to a friend of mine tonight. She was my roommate when we did the college program together in 2002. Still talk a lot but I haven't seen her since then and I'm constantly trying to get her to come to orlando for a visit with me. To no avail. I know money is tight for her but when I figure it out, the only extra cost for her is airfare which for the dates I want is pretty reasonable. And our other roommate lives in Nebraska. I'm trying to get her out here too. She is more likely to come but she is so busy that its hard for her. I just miss them a lot. It's pathetic but now that I'm home I really have no friends. I have the girls at school who I talk to, but we don't do stuff. I miss just hanging out and watching movies with the girls, getting dressed up and going out at night to a bar or club, etc. I guess I'm just a little lonely for some friends. I'm trying to get them both here for my birthday weekend (Memorial Weekend) but it probably won't happen. The truth is I don't really want to go to where they live. I know they both miss Orlando and I love it there too so I wanted our reunion to be there. Wow I sound really mushy and sad and I'm really not. Just, I don't know. Feeling a little sorry for myself maybe? Anywho, I REALLY need to study!
I might be back later though. Oh who am I kidding. I will be back later.

We've lost several family members during my lifetime... in 1999-2000 alone we lost my mom's uncle (80's cancer), my cousin (18 car wreck), my sister-in-law (31 super rare strep infection that shut down her organs, she had 3 kids 1, 3, & 5), my mom's brother (60's cancer), my mom's best friend (50's emphasema or however it is spelled), and my mom's grandmother (over 100)... basically, everybody was on one side of the family. Anyway, it was accidents, sudden illnesses, long illnesses, and old age... some we got to say goodbye to, some we didn't.
And with all of them there have been the "if I'd known". Especially for significant things that it was the "last" time we did... there are so many "lasts" that I just don't remember with my husband, because at the time I didn't realize they would be "the last time". Luckily, two of his sisters, his aunt, my mother, and I were all with him when he died (his mother wasn't, but that's a crappy story about a crappy woman).
Wow... I'm about to start crying thinking of this... but DD(then 4) got to say her goodbyes to her father. We weren't going to have her go up to the hospital... thought it would be too traumatic. Larry was unconscious for a couple of days and my mom calls and says that Kayti "really" wanted to come to the hospital. At that moment it was like a bucket of warm water was poured over my head and this warm woosh went from my head to my toes and said "YES". So, I said yes. Larry woke up right about the time Kayti got there, they communicated (he couldn't talk much), she left, he asked where his mother was and was sad she wasn't there, he went to sleep and never regained consciousness before he died the next day.
Lately, I've been trying to live, think, and love a certain way and (major cornball country music moment) my philosphy can be summed up by Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw.
Garth Brooks... The Dance. And now, I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end, the way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance... I could have missed the pain, but I'd of had to miss the dance.
Tim McGraw... Live Like You Were Dying. I was finally the husband [mother, daughter, sister] that most the time I wasn't, and I became a friend a friend would like to have, and all of a sudden goin' fishin [WDW, shopping, to a movie] wasn't such an imposition, and I went 3 times that year I lost my dad, well I, I finally read the good book and I took a good long hard look at what I'd do if I could do it all again and then... I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing, I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Manchu, and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter, and I gave forgiveness I'd been denying, and he said, Someday I hope you get the chance to live like you were dyin'.
I've got the dance down... and I'm working on living like I'm dying. And everytime I say goodbye to someone I love, in person or on the phone, the last thing I tell them is that I love them.

I know of friends that I've had to say goodbye too soon to - my bestest friend had cystic fibrosis, and in jr high and high school, you dont know what that is actually - but her mom was an amazing soul and allowed me to be there the night she passed... long story short, she sat up reached her arms up, the room was bathed in an amazing gold light... I know I was in His presence.
In my high school/college I had a bestest friend who was so vivacious, its hard to explain, you just knew his love for life was infectious. We went our separate ways (his mom said we were like brother and sister) he lived with a fun loving girl and I married and had kids. Then I had a dream he died. I found him, and we had a "clique" reunion. I told him of my dream, and we hugged and cried. He died not long after that -
I know of those songs you speak of too -
its so hard to know. When my ds21 was in 3rd or 4th grade we were driving to hockey practice and ran over something on a vastly busy highway... and smelled gas... and prayed. We had run over a "box" and had a hole the size of a silver dollar in our gas tank. (I asked ds what we should do, knowing God speaks thru kids easier than adults!) we drove to hockey and back home again. Two days later the Willis family was killed not far from the same stretch of highway... their van ran over "something" and their gas tank exploded...

Dene', my family can also relate to The Dance. My SIL had it played at my BIL's (DH's brother) funeral after he passed away at age 42 after having some surgery. It was over 10 years ago, but I still often think about how sad it was.
Besides my BIL, I lost my MIL and, unexpectedly, my favorite aunt within a little over a year. It was a very tough time.
Thanks Dene' and Sandy for the reminder to live life fully. I think we are all aspiring toward that goal by trying to live a healthier lifestyle so we'll be around longer for our family members.
I know I have felt trapped within my own body for too long and am thankful for all of the supportive peeps here, even though I may not have expressed it very well or very often.
My WW weigh in day is tomorrow. I'm hoping for some new bling like my hero Dene', but it is more likely to be next week than this week!

I get weird sometimes, and dont mean to offend anyone. I also dont like the book "Love you Forever" that one creeps me out - how a grown woman would climb into an adult son's window and hold him and rock him and sing him... and the last chapter was weird too... I think I heard an author talk where the author's version of the book was much better, but then the editors got ahold of it, and then it got weird (only to me I'm sure!!)
No offense here. I am in tears reading those lyrics too. I knew you must have meant that you didn't like to think about what those lyrics say, none of us do. I have to say that I have loved on my family members a little more today because of what happened. I have to agree on "Love you Forever". I can't read it without crying. When my son was in 2nd grade, the class read that book to all the mothers for Mother's Day. The teacher had brought in her china and crystal for us to eat on. Dene - How scary was that? :eek: My son woke up last Tuesday with his lips and his eyes all swollen. We never figured out what it was. :sad2: The Dr's office told us to give him Benadryl, and that really helped. He had been gone with the youth all weekend, so I don't know what he could have gotten in to. He told me what he ate, and it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I would say keep an eye on it, and if it happens again, go to the DR!

Speaking of songs that remind you of loved ones that have passed away. Everytime I hear the song The Last Tens Years by Kenny Rogers (I think) it makes me cry.:sad1: In the last ten years (where have the years gone) I've lost my dad, my paternal grandpa, my maternal grandma, my maternal grandpa, my step-sister, several aunts, an uncle, a couple of cousins, and a few dear friends.:sad1:
Thank God I still have my sister and 5 brothers. I wouldn't know what to do with out them.

It has been kind of quiet - I've been able to keep up and might still get to bed early!
I still didn't make my ADRs - I have a list, but I keep forgetting to get it out and make the call. I did call a few months ago in hopes that we could have breakfast at the castle on the Wednesday we are there. That worked out. I'm going to call this week about the rest.
Glad you finished your paper - you really have a lot going on.

I just looked on the Disney Photopass website, and they had a Contact Us link at the bottom. You could fill out the form and ask if you could still order the cd. Like I said, I think they would be able to "find" your photos if you were willing to buy the cd. I don't know for sure, but it is worth a try.

Good Morning all---It was such a BEAUTIFUL day here yesterday--I hope that today is the same. Today is my 13th Anniversary---WAHOOO!!! I must be good all day since we are gon gout tonight. It was a rough weekend with all the food for the kids in my house. Our youth pastor better hurry up and come get all the extras--I want them gone. Hope that everyone has a good day.

Back on the wagon again today and I am in for the exercise challenge. :yay: I even wrote it on my calendar as to which days/times I am going to do it this week. I am STILL sick, but maybe I can sweat the rest of this cold away. It is supposed to be nice here again today so that should help me stay motivated. For some reason when it is cold all I want to do is stay home and eat. When it is sunny and nice, I can manage to keep myself on track.
Hope you're feeling better. This back on the wagon business is tough. I didn't bring a lunch today because the kinder teachers always bring lunch for the b-day girl, but they didn't for me (boo hoo) so I was starving and ate the junk I found around the classroom. I did ride the exercise bike for 30 minutes while I helped my DD rehearse lines from Macbeth tonight ( got to be Lady McB; it was a juicy part!)

Just when I was getting back into jazzercise I have a sick kid home so I can't go.................I swear they are trying to keep me fat! ;) Hunter has a temp of 102 and can't stand up without his head hurting. So we may be taking a trip to the dr. if his fever doens't come down soon. Happy monday to me!! So I think I'll hang out here and pretend I'm at disneyworld.

I feel so bad about MJ. It is shocking when people pass before their time, and MJ and his wife were so friendly on the WPASADI thread.
When my dad passed away 4 years ago, we had several small miracles that strengthened my faith. One was that the doctor's said he was in a coma and would not be coming out of it, but he woke up to talk to me one day. He told me I looked so pretty, and that meant so much, since I have always struggled with self-image. He also asked me why the guy from Home Improvement was on Family Feud instead of Louie Anderson. It was goofy, but that was so my dad. On the day before he passed, I got to take my kids and DH in, and we all prayed with my dad (he was unconscious again). He was fretting in his sleep, and DD grabbed his hand and said, "Grandpa, it's me, Julia." He squeezed her hand and settled down. Then, on the last day, all 6 of us kids were able to make it to his side. We got to see him kiss my mom good-bye after 58 years of marriage (he came out of the coma on the last day). After she left, he was pawing at the tubes and wires attached to him. At first, we tried to hold his arms down, then my brother said we should let him do what he wanted. When we did, he reached out towards Heaven. I always wonder who he saw. Jesus? An angel? My 2 brothers who were stillborn? My dad's parents? I even laughed thinking it might have been my mom's parents, who weren't too crazy about my dad, who had been a 22 y.o. Amercian sailor who swept their 16 y.o. Australian daughter (my mom) off her feet. Anyway, I know I'm rambling, but I just wanted to reinforce what others have said about appreciating your loved ones, and about death sometimes being an uplifting experience.
So let's kiss our babies (human or fur) a little more, make time to be with our friends and family, and if married, say yes ;) just a little more often. Then we can live with very little regret.

I had that happen to me when I was about 18 and it is so scary, I ended up in hospital with IV anti histamine. It turned out I was allergic to an anti-sickness drug I was taking but I had been taking them for a few days before the reaction. At one point they thought I had TB as my jaw kept locking. :scared1:

I lost my Step Mum (59) a year ago and my Dad is finally getting back to normal (kind of) but what is most distressing is that in November my childhood best friend (age 3 to 10) who I was still in contact with took her own life, she had written me a really strange note saying how she felt incomplete the years when we weren't in contact etc which freaked me out a bit, I meant to call her but DH was involved in a car crash (not hurt just the car written off) so with sorting all that out I didn't get around to it, I then get a call about a week later to say what she'd done, apparently she had become really depressed but hid it well. At first I felt really guilty and then really angry because my step mum had fought hard to beat her cancer and here was someone choosing to end it. Sorry I'm rambling now, just wanted to send you a :hug:

I did not multi quote again! I KNOW!!! As I sit here I am wiping away the tears of all your stories of appreciating life. I have one too.
One Sunday night in 1993, my aunt called to ask me to go to the hospital. My cousin had been involved in a car accident and had been life-flighted to the hospital near my house. When we got there we asked to see her and they took us into the little room and told us she was already gone. They asked my husband to identify her body and we waited several hours for my aunt, uncle, and cousins to arrive.
She was just a few weeks from her 21st birthday and a student at a Baptist college near us. She was serving as youth minister at a small church in a nearby town and the accident happened on the way home from church that night. We were very close...two girls in a family full of boys. All the way to the hospital, I prayed that she would be alright and not be paralyzed or have lasting injuries. It just never occured to me that she might die.
It took me a long time to get over that. How could God take her when she was serving him? She was planning to attend seminary and go into ministry. What could He possibly be thinking? As a Christian I now take comfort in knowing that she has gone home to be with Him. There is a plan here but only He has the big picture. It does make you want to hold everybody a little tighter though.
I was raised in a family that did not hug. I was never told that I was loved...although I knew I was. I'm still a litte funny about my personal space. Anyway I've made sure that my family is not like that. I hug my kids and tell them that I love them every day. I even tell my parents and grandparents...and you know what. They say they love me too. Life is too short....don't waste a minute. :)

We've lost several family members during my lifetime... in 1999-2000 alone we lost my mom's uncle (80's cancer), my cousin (18 car wreck), my sister-in-law (31 super rare strep infection that shut down her organs, she had 3 kids 1, 3, & 5), my mom's brother (60's cancer), my mom's best friend (50's emphasema or however it is spelled), and my mom's grandmother (over 100)... basically, everybody was on one side of the family. Anyway, it was accidents, sudden illnesses, long illnesses, and old age... some we got to say goodbye to, some we didn't.
And with all of them there have been the "if I'd known". Especially for significant things that it was the "last" time we did... there are so many "lasts" that I just don't remember with my husband, because at the time I didn't realize they would be "the last time". Luckily, two of his sisters, his aunt, my mother, and I were all with him when he died (his mother wasn't, but that's a crappy story about a crappy woman).
Wow... I'm about to start crying thinking of this... but DD(then 4) got to say her goodbyes to her father. We weren't going to have her go up to the hospital... thought it would be too traumatic. Larry was unconscious for a couple of days and my mom calls and says that Kayti "really" wanted to come to the hospital. At that moment it was like a bucket of warm water was poured over my head and this warm woosh went from my head to my toes and said "YES". So, I said yes. Larry woke up right about the time Kayti got there, they communicated (he couldn't talk much), she left, he asked where his mother was and was sad she wasn't there, he went to sleep and never regained consciousness before he died the next day.
Lately, I've been trying to live, think, and love a certain way and (major cornball country music moment) my philosphy can be summed up by Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw.
Garth Brooks... The Dance. And now, I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end, the way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance... I could have missed the pain, but I'd of had to miss the dance.
Tim McGraw... Live Like You Were Dying. I was finally the husband [mother, daughter, sister] that most the time I wasn't, and I became a friend a friend would like to have, and all of a sudden goin' fishin [WDW, shopping, to a movie] wasn't such an imposition, and I went 3 times that year I lost my dad, well I, I finally read the good book and I took a good long hard look at what I'd do if I could do it all again and then... I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing, I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Manchu, and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter, and I gave forgiveness I'd been denying, and he said, Someday I hope you get the chance to live like you were dyin'.
I've got the dance down... and I'm working on living like I'm dying. And everytime I say goodbye to someone I love, in person or on the phone, the last thing I tell them is that I love them.

It stands for Wickedly Perfect Amazing Surviving American DIS Idol. It is a combination of all Reality shows. It is an online challenge that people signed up for and then were selected to play. I am an audience member and anyone can be an audience member. Anyway, they were split up into 24 teams (I think). They had to create these websites with different themes. Then they were judged by Celebrity Judges. They are just moderators impersonating celebs. ;) Anyway, several are voted out, if there scores aren't high enough. Now they are in to the individual challenges. It is every man/woman for themselves. The grand prize is a 7night stay at the Swan/dolpin hotel, and a lot of extras. People have won 3day stays so far during the competition.
Sorry to be so long winded. It is a hard thing to explain. Actually, Matt (pokemon_master) could explain it better than I did. ;)

Melinda...I was like you, coming from a home that barely hugged or said "I Love You". I am very physical with my kids and always say "I Love You" before they leave, when we get off the phone...anytime. I don't want them to ever question whether or not Mom & Dad loved them. :love: :hug:

Due to Pokemon Masters tribute a thread started over on the UK board (Matt is English) about if anything happened to a disser and if their relations would think to let their Dis friends know. It is horrible to think about but also what would happen? Any answers?
I actually talked about this last night with DH. He kinda laughed at me when I asked, but last night before we went to sleep. He told me that he WOULD let the DISboard know if anything happened to me. Gotta love that man! :love:

After a late night trip to the clinic we found out that el-sicko has the flu. Duh! Yes I paid $250 to be told that. Anyway, his fever got to 104 so we took him in. He's now on tamiflu and cough syrup with vicodin. He has to wear a mask, because the dr said this is a highly contagious strain that is running thru our town like crazy. The bright side is that the mask has disney characters on it. He's stopped throwing up, thank heavens, so now we just have to keep him hydrated. I think that I have the same thing starting, because I feel like crap and a slight fever. So I won't be excercising for awhile. I guess I'll to "cheek" crunches as I'm lying in bed. :)

Lynda missed you!! Uma is still away - but we were challenged to add a ticker with a DL theme in honor of uma!! Minnie Moo started it!! I figured out that the Dis has a "myspace" type page that I havent been paying any attention to!! Dene gave us a scare (allergy??) Jodisney challenged us to figure out where in the world she was... we failed miserably, but got to see pictures!! My ds is still trying to figure out how to save money so he can buy a ring so he can propose. I decided to go ahead and rent a room in Rantoul, only to find out all THOSE rooms are now sold out for April 13 - 15! :faint: BUT ds 18 is now in the pit orchestra for My Fair Lady, so I'm going to that show!!! :love: (and you'll be my back up in case ds 21 wont go with me!! :rotfl2: ) I really should try and contact an aunt I just met that lives in Champagne!! Pigget had an anniversary... Danielle had a birthday... someone challenged us to 5 days of exercise of 30 min!! :yay: hunkythreaddudeshavent appeared much... Bee'sworking... Stacey finished her paper, and still is overdoing working!! (come on stacey rest!!) Several have heel/foot pain and posted hints, tips and exercises...

Yesterday was a great day. Thank you all again for the well wishes. DH and I went out last night to Olive Garden and had a great time just the 2 of us. Then we wen to Wal MArt and did some of our pre disney shopping along with our weekly grocery shopping. Only 11 more days until we go :cool1: I have a dental appointment after school and then a BOOK CLUB meeting after that--so I will probably not be back on again until tomorrow. Have a good one everyone.

i am jumping on the excercise wagon again my back is killinggggggggggg me again and i felt so much better when i was excercising.. so i need massive pushes there. i hate the cold ,it snowed again. i hate that it get's warm then drops to freezing. it kills my poor menapsal body... my kids are all home because DH woke up late and didn't get them off to school and i guess in my sleepy state i said they could stay home(WWWWHHHHHAAAAATTTTTT) well i am gonna go make some lunch before my kids drive me crazy but all my :love: to ya all..

Good luck to your DS. I know it's not easy to work and go to school at the same time. OMG! I have not been doing well with the exercise thing. I promise I will get better! And Sandy, I think I can relate to your issue with taking chances. I have been studying photography on my own for the past year and a half because I can't figure out how to get myself back in school. I don't make near what DH makes, but I make enough that it matters! And if I were to quit, we would have to pay for school on top of loosing my income. U of I doesn't have night classes, and I don't know if I would want to go part time while working full time anyway. I have done that, and I get burnt out. So, I am working on it on my own, and maybe someday I'll actually get a paying job. That'd be nice. I know I've come a long way, but I have an even longer way to go. It took me sooooooo long to figure out what it is I SHOULD be doing. Now that I have, I just want it to be a reality. Anyway, I didn't see Oprah. Fill me in? :)

Secondly, I have to say that between SexyLexy's post and a comment a friend of mine made the other day, I have come to a realization. I have really just begun this lifestyle change. I mean, I have been at it for not quite 2 months, and it will be a long road. I have had some success, and I am confident that I will have more. And simply making the changes and starting the journey has made me a happier person! Not that this is shocking, but I feel like I have already succeeded just by making the effort. Today I feel like its a certainty that I will eventually get to where I want to be weight/health-wise. And that is an amazing feeling! It has felt like so long since I was there, and now I feel like I am on my way home or something. It's like when we leave for WDW. It's a long trip, but I'm happy just to be on the way. I also realized that I don't think I would be having this kind of success this time if it weren't for you all. I have never believed in scales, and I have not gone down a size yet. If I didn't know that I had lost 15 lbs already, I would be getting very frustrated. I probably wouldn't be writing down what I ate every day either. And I know I wouldn't be as disciplined if I didn't have to be accountable to you all. So, I just want to thank you all for being here! Love you all! :goodvibes Is it January '08 yet? Hi everyone. I am a newbie and I love the DIS. My family and I are going to WDW again this year(3rd time), so I decided to do bit of planning/research and found you guys:) . I read a few pages from this thread and I am totally hooked. I would love to join if it's ok. I just started the SIX WEEK BODY MAKEOVER yesterday and I need alot of support. I already cheated and ate something last night that I wasn't supposed to:sad2: . I love the way you all interact with each other and actually care about each other. I am trying to lose at least 50 pounds by June 16 (My birthday and the day before we leave to WDW). Thanks for listening:)

I tried the BM plan - I love Michael Thurmond - but I was unable to give up all those condiments!! Have you tried their forums? I really got hooked on the bodymakeover Boot Camps they had - they have lots of recipes that are on your plan (I think I was a body type C) Good luck!!

Tonight, I'm sitting here with my gut hanging over my pants and feeling like a slob. (they are tinly little hipster pants though so hanging over is a given.....) I just typed out a whole depressing post but don't want to affect everyone else.
I really feel like things are falling apart. I guess I'm going to have to find a way to deal with how I'm feeling. I'm about to get angry about things and I don't want to let it go on y'all.
If I don't post for a while, please know I'm thinking about everyone and talk about you frequently.

I collapsed at school and was seen by my Dr who gave me an earful about working the 3 jobs! He insisted I let them go and keep the one. As a driver for school we have physicals and my doc threatened to report to the school that he is suspending my physical medical clearance. I had to resing over the phone at Dr office to realtor. I felt like such a weenie. I had a fever of 104 and he is very concerned about the lupus and how he feels I am treating my body rather unkindly!
You know I wanted to stop at the gorcery store and buy something really bad but I did not. Came home and had my "healthy" stuff followed by some water!
DH took it well. DS was a wee bummed saying OMG how are you going to tkae me and my friend skiing this weekend...you promised Mom! It must be great to be a 11 yo whose biggest worry is when Mom is going to take him skiing next??? PErsonally I pray he worry 1/2 as much about his grades and cleaning his room!
Its ok I love that boy! ANyway I am now transporting a new student who would break your heart and reminded me to count my blessings! SHe cannot talk and is the exact same age and cannot walk or eat anything not feed by syringes. I will tkae my wows! I will take my bratty sloppy boy over the heartache that Mom must feel everyday.
OK enough of my chatter, MHL careful I can PM you I haven't reached my limit! I will go on and on about my silly nonslensical life, and by full of typos galore!!! Now I know thats cruel but you are asking for it!!!

I have a couple requests for Pixie Dust please. (not in order of importance)
1) I just registered for tickets to see the Ellen show taped at Universal for the end of March. I went last year and it was a blast!
2) My mouth is sort of bugging me today and it has me worried. My sutures on the one side came out and it looks totally normal. The other side still has them in. But I can tell they are getting loose. But I looked at my mouth today and there is a big gap between my last tooth and where the gum starts instead of being continuous (sorry if thats confusing). It hurts a teensy bit but I was just at the dentist on Friday and he said everything looked great :confused3 . I'm fearing that I have some odd form of dry socket that takes extra long to come out. Any thoughts as to what the problem is? I know I need to chew on that side to get the sutures out but I don't want to chew on that side because it's bugging me :sad2: **Actually I just looked and it doesn't look as weird. BUT it's freaking me out and a teensy bit sore so...
3) My uncle is in the hospital. I actually haven't seen him in many years but it's my favorite aunt's husband. He's been having lots of health problems lately and was admitted on Friday for pneumonia. I think he's gonna be ok but it seems like everytime my mom talks to my aunt he is sick with one thing or another.

My test tonight went very well. I'm pretty sure anyway. Just have to study for the small test tomorrow night and get some things together. I'm soooo tired! I can't wait for Friday (my sleep in day).

P.S. I think I'm gaining this week. Bummer. I half expected it since I was basically in starvation mode for 2 weeks but I do not like seeing those numbers go up. I just started the SIX WEEK BODY MAKEOVER yesterday and I need alot of support.
I did that two years ago and lost 40 pounds... then I fell off the wagon. Gained that back plus about 10 more. I'm not currently "doing" any particular plan... just eating as healthy as I can, exercising lots, and drinking tons of water. If I'm remembering correctly, what I'm doing is probably pretty darn close to SWBM. Anyway, this is a great place for support! Welcome aboard!

Instead of "mindless eating", I've been trying to retrain myself to "mindless drinking"... always having water nearby and taking a drink often... have it at the gym, at school, in the car, in front of the tv... everywhere. That's one way I sock down an average of 5-6 LITERS per day (that's 1.5 gallons or 165+ ounces).

Listen to him! I was wondering how you (or anybody) could hold up to that kind of a schedule. Extra money is no good if you're too sick/tired/worn out to spend it.:hug:

I went to the tanning bed the other day after my workout...and I flipped on my belly so as to try to tan the front...well I dont reckon I got myself smoothed out as well as I thought and I have a white line running up my belly from where my fat was squunched up at my belly button.:scared: ..gross, whats worse is I was inspecting this when DH walked in and said.."thats strange how'd you do that?" at the same time that I realized that my fat rolls got in the way...:scared1:

I started my assignment tonight and realized it is not due until Friday! Wooohooo, I can put this whole traumatic experience off until Thursday! I am the worst procratinator - still haven't started my trip report. I think I will weight until UM, Slate, Princessv, and Noni finish theirs - Who could keep up with all of that.

Another rotten day. Can my life get any more hectic?? Sometimes I wonder.
One of our beloved kitties escaped last night. I was running out to check on a friend who thought she was in labor around 10 pm. He must have snuck out when I left. He was certainly not here this morning. None of my kitties go out. The other 2 have been looking for him today. It is breaking my heart....especially because I think I let him out! :sad2: He snuck out once a yr or so ago and came home the following night, so I am praying he does the same. I am so upset, I feel sick. Not to mention DD keeps telling me she is worried about him and misses him. Like I need to hear that too:guilty: We have had these cats for over 8 yrs now and they are like kids to me. I have been checking for him all over the neighborhood and keep checking my yard. I even have my windows open so he can maybe hear us and find his way home.
Pray that he makes a safe return home soon please.

Wendy! We are so glad you are back. It has actually been rather quiet since you left. On page 541, Sandy posted a recap of the weekend for Lynda. She hit all the highlights. So.......can we expect your first installment by tonight :rolleyes1 Anymore videos, did you find the secret bathroom, did you take over the Jungle Cruise, did you eat a whole dole whip and a funnel cake, how were the restaurants? So many things we need to know!
Some how I have thrown my SI joint out again - I think I did something wrong last night when I was doing the prescribed exercises. It has not hurt this bad since a couple of weeks ago. I am going to try and see the PT so she can put it back in place I hope. I feel very bad about work. I have not completed a whole week since all this started. Last week I missed that day because of the migraine. I haven't called in yet today because I am dreading it. I have always been so impatient with people who miss work more than like twice a year for illness. I am never sick. I don't miss work. Anyway, sorry - just frustrated.

So, last night I got pretty much done with my iPod. I have a couple of Disney CDs left to go through, and a couple of other CDs, and I will do those tonight. I also have some CDs that Josh and I made that I need to go through. But I am not in a big hurry, so I will just go through those as I have time. I have about 850 songs loaded now! :scared1: I deleted some duplicates, and I am sure I will find a few songs I don't really need. I bought 4 songs from iTunes last night, and I need to make some playlists for exercising and reading. I am so relieved that I am wrapping it up. I can enjoy the music now! :)
I also talked to my boss, and I will be going into work early a few days a week so that I can get some things done while it is quiet, and it also allows me to leave a little early a couple of days, so I should have a little more time at home in the evenings. I am really excited about that.
And I didn't think that agility class with Jasper was going to count as my 30 minutes of exercise last night. I just didn't think I would be working hard enough to count it. But I am sooooooo counting it! We ran through the course 5 times, allbeit with breaks in between, but I was huffing and puffing each time we got done! And it took a few minutes to recover each time. It didn't seem like we were working that hard, but I guess it involved a lot of different movements - bending, reaching, jogging, and talking to Jasper in an excited voice the whole time. :rotfl: It was a lot of fun. Jasper is getting better at it. She only has trouble with a couple of the apparatus. And it TOTALLY WIPES HER OUT! She slept ALL evening once we got home, and she did the same thing last week! I LOVE IT! :rotfl:

OK time's counting down, just going to finish packing the suitcase eating nothing but salad today, gotta save them room for Disney food. We take off to Orlando 9:30pm arrive at All Star Movies at 1 am.
Wake up at 7am eat some Yummy Breakfast. WE are starting the day off at MGM, with the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Okayhouse Disney theatre, Meet and Greats and then off to Epcot. At Epcot we will ride Soarin, then off to the Nemo Ride, A quick walk around the country's. Then off to the monorail and onto the Magic Kingdom. At the Magic Kingdom we will do anything and everything ending the night with Spectro Magic Parade and Wishes. From there we go to the DInsey Market place for Dinner reservations at Wolf Gang Pucks 9:30 and some shopping. Then we leave Disney and onto Fort Lauderdale a 3 hour drive. So thats my ONE day Disney trip.:banana: :banana:
I will check in this week from Fort LAuderdale.

It will surely be a bumpy ride, but I know it will be a bit easier with you guys on my side. I will actually have to be accountable for what I eat and how much I work out so that will keep me on track.
I tried the BM plan - I love Michael Thurmond - but I was unable to give up all those condiments!! Have you tried their forums? I really got hooked on the bodymakeover Boot Camps they had - they have lots of recipes that are on your plan (I think I was a body type C) Good luck!!
Thanks for the advice. I never thought about their forums. I checked it out and it is really great. I love the concept of the boot camp and I am going to try and get into it.
I did that two years ago and lost 40 pounds... then I fell off the wagon. Gained that back plus about 10 more. I'm not currently "doing" any particular plan... just eating as healthy as I can, exercising lots, and drinking tons of water. If I'm remembering correctly, what I'm doing is probably pretty darn close to SWBM. Anyway, this is a great place for support! Welcome aboard!!!
Hopefully I will lose all the extra weight and be able to keep it off. I think once I get into it it will get easier. Hopefully I can stick with it after the six weeks. Thanks

I went to the tanning bed the other day after my workout...and I flipped on my belly so as to try to tan the front...well I dont reckon I got myself smoothed out as well as I thought and I have a white line running up my belly from where my fat was squunched up at my belly button.:scared: ..gross, whats worse is I was inspecting this when DH walked in and said.."thats strange how'd you do that?" at the same time that I realized that my fat rolls got in the way...:scared1:

I collapsed at school and was seen by my Dr who gave me an earful about working the 3 jobs! He insisted I let them go and keep the one. As a driver for school we have physicals and my doc threatened to report to the school that he is suspending my physical medical clearance. I had to resing over the phone at Dr office to realtor. I felt like such a weenie. I had a fever of 104 and he is very concerned about the lupus and how he feels I am treating my body rather unkindly!
You know I wanted to stop at the gorcery store and buy something really bad but I did not. Came home and had my "healthy" stuff followed by some water!
DH took it well. DS was a wee bummed saying OMG how are you going to tkae me and my friend skiing this weekend...you promised Mom! It must be great to be a 11 yo whose biggest worry is when Mom is going to take him skiing next??? PErsonally I pray he worry 1/2 as much about his grades and cleaning his room!
Its ok I love that boy! ANyway I am now transporting a new student who would break your heart and reminded me to count my blessings! SHe cannot talk and is the exact same age and cannot walk or eat anything not feed by syringes. I will tkae my wows! I will take my bratty sloppy boy over the heartache that Mom must feel everyday.
OK enough of my chatter, MHL careful I can PM you I haven't reached my limit! I will go on and on about my silly nonslensical life, and by full of typos galore!!! Now I know thats cruel but you are asking for it!!!

We had to choose from about 20 :eek: and she also took an exam called the 11 plus which gets her into a grammar school (elite) although I'm not holding out much hope on that as she came out of the test in January with a big grin on her face saying the test was really hard and she left a whole section out :laughing: But the main thing was we have overcome her fear of tests :thumbsup2: Our first choice was the grammar and second was the CofE school but I'm not sure if I went to church enough? Although as I was a Rainbow (daisy scout) leader for over 3 years that counted. Well hopefully we will get one of our 3 choices the whole system over here is ridiculous. :confused3

We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve
to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work. We had to wash the
dishes, make the beds, learn to> cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs.
I think she would lie
awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.
She always insisted on us telling the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth. By the time
we were teenagers, she could read our minds and had
eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was really tough!
Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn
when they drove up. They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them. While everyone else could
date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16 .
Because of our mother we missed out on lots of
things other kids experienced. None of us have ever
been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault.
Now that we have left home, we are all educated,

So are these "private" schools, or public(free)? I've always been confused about your school system. I guess I don't understand the terminology! :confused:
All free (private are about $20,000 a year :scared1: ) just selective and the local schools are not good, as we have a so called choice we can look further a field but even the good ones have their bad points. If she gets the elite school I fear she will struggle, the CofE school involves a 90 min bus journey twice a day and our third choice costs $1,400 a year in transport. These choices all were made in October but we only find out tomorrow! It's being done on-line for the first time this year so bets are it will crash and we won't find out until the letter comes on Friday anyway. :rotfl2:

ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.
When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch, we had to eat
sandwiches.
And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was
different from what other kids had, too.
Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all
times. You'd think we were convicts in a prison. She
had to know who our friends were, and what we were
doing with them. She insisted that if we said we
would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.
We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve
to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work. We had to wash the
dishes, make the beds, learn to> cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs.
I think she would lie
awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.
She always insisted on us telling the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth. By the time
we were teenagers, she could read our minds and had
eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was really tough!
Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn
when they drove up. They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them. While everyone else could
date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16 .
Because of our mother we missed out on lots of
things other kids experienced. None of us have ever
been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault.
Now that we have left home, we are all educated,
honest adults. We are doing our best to be mean
parents just like Mom was.
I think that is what's wrong with the world today.

Ok, I was at work today (at the preschool at my church), and our youth group puts on a dinner show for the Young at Heart (people 50 and older) at church. They are wanting to do a Disney theme this year. We (the teens) usually make our own decorations. It is usually pretty elaborate. Anyway, does anyone know if we would get "in trouble" with Disney if we photcopied Disney pics, and blew them up (I mean enlarge them;) ). We don't want to get in trouble with copyright infringements or anything. If y'all don't know, where could I post this question, and get a pretty reliable answer. We would hate for the cops::cop: to come in and haul away our youth group because we copied a picture of Mickey. ;) :rotfl:

Wow, that sounds complicated!! I guess there are pro's and con's to having a choice. The schools my kids are in are really good, but in the states it pretty much depends on the school district you are in and the state. Let us know what happens!

Could you all send me some good luck prayers please, in 11 hours we find out which secondary school Jessica will be going to. We had to choose from about 20 :eek: and she also took an exam called the 11 plus which gets her into a grammar school (elite) although I'm not holding out much hope on that as she came out of the test in January with a big grin on her face saying the test was really hard and she left a whole section out :laughing: But the main thing was we have overcome her fear of tests :thumbsup2: Our first choice was the grammar and second was the CofE school but I'm not sure if I went to church enough? Ok, y'all win.
I've been battlng depression on and off for more than a decade. I've been on anti-depressants and was hospitalized twice. I've had several therapists but I can't shake the demon for more than a year or so. My issues right now are work and infertility.
Last night the IF issues were really getting to me and the more I try to talk to DH about it, the less I feel he's supporting me. He called me at work yesterday to let me know that his brother's fiance is pg. So on top of being stressed about work, he adds to my fragile emotional state. I was fuming by the time I got home. Our biggest challenge with IF is the $$. We have no insurance for treatment so all the medical care is out of pocket. We decided a few years ago that we wouldn't do anything until we were in a better position financially. Well, 14 mos ago we decided we weren't going to find the perfect time to do it and we went ahead with a cycle. Not only did it fail, we discovered there are more problems. I was devistated as we have to spend more each time we try. I still refuse and am unable to spend the outrageous sums that others do to have their families. So it really weighs on me that we have limited options and the time we have available is getting shorter and shorter. To make things worse, DH told me that we can continue trying but I have to postpone another trip to WDW. I feel like I have to give up one dream for another.
All told, I'm really close to having an emotional breakdown. I've been battling burn out at work and now this. I have no energy, have to take a nap in the afternoons after work or I fall asleep between 8-9pm. I have a hard time focusing and feel like I'm not getting anything done as well as I should. I'm always angry or grouchy and DH and I have fought a lot the last several days.
My diet is just another burden right now. I feel like I'm depriving myself and can't enjoy my food. This morning I said "Everything I put in my mouth has to have a number. Either a point or calorie count so I can calculate a point." I'm not losing weight right now even with trying to count everything. I weigh in on Fri then by Sun I have gained some of the weight back and spend the rest of the week trying to get rid of it.
I'm not quitting. I'm just not in a good place emotionally and it's making this so much harder. I did have some chocolate yesterday but it was brought back from New Zealand so it was a treat; I probably won't ever have the chance to eat NZ choc ever again. (It was ok but rather odd, there was some bark like stuff with dried fruit and pinenuts. I don't now what they put in it but it was seasoned funny....at least to someone used to eating domestic chocolate.)
I don't have my profile thing done, I'm having isues with getting it to work. I tried a bit yesterday and it wasn't doing what I thought it should.
I called my Dr's office to ask for a Rx for my anti-depressants. They didn't call me back so I'm not sure if I have to make an appt or not. I haven't talked to my boss about a lighter workload but I've been trying to lighten up what I'm doing and trying to focus on the tasks that I'm solely responsible for. DH thinks I should ask for a week or two off to completely destress. Our office manager is out on medical leave right now so two absent employees will be hard for the rest of the staff to cover, especially since we're the one's who handle the ordering and inventory and in general make sure every one has what they need to get the job done. I'd like to just curl up in a ball and make everything go away.
So that's it, in a rather large nutshell.

went to the gym did 20 mins on the track walking , running 10 mins the:jumping3::jumping3:begged me to stop so i did .
did 5 sets of 10 ab crunches so i did 50 (i can feel my abs and they are not happy) and 5 mins on the Eliptical
my hardest time of the day is when the kids come home until i fix dinner so i have decided to go to the gym after my kids come home from school that way i don't have to listen to them whine about being hungry. am i a horrible mom?

I read a few pages from this thread and I am totally hooked. I would love to join if it's ok. I just started the SIX WEEK BODY MAKEOVER yesterday and I need alot of support. I already cheated and ate something last night that I wasn't supposed to:sad2: . I love the way you all interact with each other and actually care about each other. Hey peeps, just want to let y'all know I'm still here. I've been keeping up, just haven't felt like posting. I'm in some sort of funk, I feel like carp, I'm tired and grouchy. Tonight, I'm sitting here with my gut hanging over my pants and feeling like a slob. (they are tinly little hipster pants though so hanging over is a given.....) I just typed out a whole depressing post but don't want to affect everyone else.
I really feel like things are falling apart. I guess I'm going to have to find a way to deal with how I'm feeling. I'm about to get angry about things and I don't want to let it go on y'all.

mousehouselover-:hug: I really feel for you. It sounds to me like you do need a few days to get things sorted out in your mind. Go talk to your boss and see if it can be arranged. Maybe even a long weekend will help. I also suffer from depression, and without my meds I am so tired all the time and have no excitement for life. I really notice a HUGE difference. I am betting refilling those will help you some. Maybe a different one?
I have not been through IF issues, but my best friend has and I saw how difficult that was for them. I wish there was more we could do to help. We are here to listen if you need to vent.:grouphug:

:grouphug: I've struggled with depression for 13 years. It's not fun, but you can get thru it. If the meds you are on now aren't working, try something new. I just switched to a new one after 6 years on prozac, and it was like a cloud lifted off of me!.
I agree that you need some time off to decompress and relax!

Feb. Sit-ups total- 680 sit-ups (was going strong but got sidetracked)
Feb. Miles Walked - 26.5 miles (almost the distance to the nearest Wal-Mart)

Well, you can buy all kinds of Disney decorations and you aren't selling the stuff, so my guess would be it would be fine. Plus a Disney exec. is not likely to show up there. ;)
Noni - I am glad you decided to share with us. Being able to tell someone how you feel without fear of disapproval or judgement is crucial. I do not know if you are a Christian or not, and I hope you don't mind this suggestion, but it is the only advice I can offer. I use to really struggle with mood swings and depression. Getting out of that cycle was a long, hard journey that I could not have done on my own. When I joined a Spirit-filled church, I received the help I needed. But that is a very long, story. Anyway, one of the things that helped me was to read a lot in the Psalms. I memorized a lot of scripture and worked hard to replace all my negative self-talk (hated myself, my husband and my life) and ungodly beliefs with the godly beliefs and truths in the Bible. I don't mean to sound preachy but that was my experience. I still wrestle sometimes, especially when I get overtired or stressed and I have not made time to have quiet times in prayer and meditation. I cannot tell you the improvement in my marriage, emotions, and job. You will be in my prayers. You are not crazy and your feeling are very real, don't let anyone tell you any different. I know many women who have struggled with infertility and it is hard. We have 2 kids and really wanted another - but it just has not happened. This month 2 women at church who did not want more kids found out they were pregnant. Yes, it makes me question. But I have decided all I can do right now is wait on God and trust Him. My youngest is 7 and it is very hard to think that that chapter in my life (babies and young children) is about to close. Of course, I am so busy it is hard to imagine what I would do with a baby right now. Maybe God knows that. :confused3 I know you guys have kids, but I could now remember the circumstances. :hug: Hope tomorrow is a better day.

That is the thing, we don't want to buy the decorations for this one party. We would rather just make something and throw it away after the party. Since it is a church function we don't want to do anything illegal. I think the youth secretary is checking on it. Noni - I second what Stacey says. Prayer will help you through you trials. We are here for you to vent, scream, holler, cry, or whatever you need us for. We love you, and hope the best for you.:grouphug: My neighbor across the street said that she struggled with getting pregnant, and she told her husband she needed to quit work because the stress was doing her in. Once she quit, she got pregnant the next month. I think having a week or two off would clear your head, and help you sort out what you really want. Here's a :hug: for you.
Now may I vent for a moment? I went to my son's "end of the hockey season" party tonight. We all met at a local restaurant to eat and have the kids (yes kids because there are two girls on our team) sit at one table while the parents sat at the other. We all ordered our dinners. While we waited for salads and such to come out, our coach got up and gave each of the kids a gift and said nice things about each one of them. We gave him our gift from us, and he sat down. We were still waiting on our food when our captain (boy) and the Co-assistant captain's (both girls) decided they wanted to go to the ice rink and watch two other teams play their game. This game will decide who we play in the first round of our tournament on Monday. Now, I realize that that is important, but we are in last place. We have only won 2 games out of 12 this season. This is our team party! Well, the mother of the girls says she will take them. Then the rest of the team, one by one, get up and say that they want to go. The entire team, except for my son and another boy, leave the restaurant, before their food comes out, to go to the game. I thought this was incredibly RUDE! We are supposed to be celebrating our team, and they left. My son and the other boy just sat there dumbfounded and hungry. OK time's counting down, just going to finish packing the suitcase eating nothing but salad today, gotta save them room for Disney food. We take off to Orlando 9:30pm arrive at All Star Movies at 1 am.
Wake up at 7am eat some Yummy Breakfast. WE are starting the day off at MGM, with the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Okayhouse Disney theatre, Meet and Greats and then off to Epcot. At Epcot we will ride Soarin, then off to the Nemo Ride, A quick walk around the country's. Then off to the monorail and onto the Magic Kingdom. At the Magic Kingdom we will do anything and everything ending the night with Spectro Magic Parade and Wishes. From there we go to the DInsey Market place for Dinner reservations at Wolf Gang Pucks 9:30 and some shopping. Then we leave Disney and onto Fort Lauderdale a 3 hour drive. So thats my ONE day Disney trip.:banana: :banana:

sounds like a great plan that kills two birds with one stone. I'm glad you're able to do that. It isn't easy to fit in exercise as many times a week as we need to exercise. I really had to severely cut some activities in order to be consistent about exercising just three nights a week, and I still have to make myself walk on the treadmill a couple of more times each week. It's hard.

I should be in bed, but I've been trying to catch up. I was thinking about sneaking off this thread for a bit, since my b-day party w/colleagues got a little out of hand (I ate 3 pieces of cake yesterday, then got up sick in the middle of the night). I know my weight will be up Friday, possibly back to square one, and that makes me sad. But I think of where it would be if I weren't trying, and realize it's not so bad. the cake, by the way, is called better than s*x, but I told my friends that it's not really, and that's a tribute to my husband. Now, they're all intrigued. ;)
Fidge-Please take care of yourself. Nothing money can buy is as good as your health and ability to enjoy your family (as long as they're not whining:rotfl: ).

Now may I vent for a moment? I went to my son's "end of the hockey season" party tonight. We all met at a local restaurant to eat and have the kids (yes kids because there are two girls on our team) sit at one table while the parents sat at the other. We all ordered our dinners. While we waited for salads and such to come out, our coach got up and gave each of the kids a gift and said nice things about each one of them. We gave him our gift from us, and he sat down. We were still waiting on our food when our captain (boy) and the Co-assistant captain's (both girls) decided they wanted to go to the ice rink and watch two other teams play their game. This game will decide who we play in the first round of our tournament on Monday. Now, I realize that that is important, but we are in last place. We have only won 2 games out of 12 this season. This is our team party! Well, the mother of the girls says she will take them. Then the rest of the team, one by one, get up and say that they want to go. The entire team, except for my son and another boy, leave the restaurant, before their food comes out, to go to the game. I thought this was incredibly RUDE! We are supposed to be celebrating our team, and they left. My son and the other boy just sat there dumbfounded and hungry. Noni - I am glad you decided to share with us. Being able to tell someone how you feel without fear of disapproval or judgement is crucial. I do not know if you are a Christian or not, and I hope you don't mind this suggestion, but it is the only advice I can offer.
Noni I agree with Stacey, even if you're not a christian sometimes just sitting in Church can really help, the calmness and time to reflect can really help.

our youth group puts on a dinner show for the Young at Heart (people 50 and older) at church. We have done this twice, Allie. I think once they blew up the photos and once they bought some canvases and painted movie pictures on them. I doubt if the copyright police will show up but I know you want to set a good example.

GOOD MORNING ALL! I hope that everyone is doing well. It has been a very busy week and I am ready for the weekend. There is supposed to be bad weather here most of they day---YUCK--I am pretty sure that we will be in the hallways a lot this afternoon---based on the red box and strong severe storms--if strong or just severe wasn't enough. Getting my hair done this afternoon---I am so excited--the gray needs to be hidden and it needs to be cut.
Could you all send me some good luck prayers please, in 11 hours we find out which secondary school Jessica will be going to. We had to choose from about 20 :eek: and she also took an exam called the 11 plus which gets her into a grammar school (elite) although I'm not holding out much hope on that as she came out of the test in January with a big grin on her face saying the test was really hard and she left a whole section out :laughing: But the main thing was we have overcome her fear of tests :thumbsup2: Our first choice was the grammar and second was the CofE school but I'm not sure if I went to church enough? Although as I was a Rainbow (daisy scout) leader for over 3 years that counted. Well hopefully we will get one of our 3 choices the whole system over here is ridiculous. :confused3

Was your Mom mean? I know mine was. We had the
meanest mother in the whole world! While other kids
ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.
When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch, we had to eat

And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was
different from what other kids had, too.
Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all
times. You'd think we were convicts in a prison. She
had to know who our friends were, and what we were
doing with them. She insisted that if we said we
would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.
We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve
to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work. We had to wash the
dishes, make the beds, learn to> cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs.
I think she would lie
awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.
She always insisted on us telling the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth. By the time
we were teenagers, she could read our minds and had
eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was really tough!
Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn
when they drove up. They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them. While everyone else could
date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16 .
Because of our mother we missed out on lots of
things other kids experienced. None of us have ever
been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault.
Now that we have left home, we are all educated,
honest adults. We are doing our best to be mean
parents just like Mom was.
I think that is what's wrong with the world today.
It just doesn't have enough mean moms.

Last night the IF issues were really getting to me and the more I try to talk to DH about it, the less I feel he's supporting me. He called me at work yesterday to let me know that his brother's fiance is pg. So on top of being stressed about work, he adds to my fragile emotional state. I was fuming by the time I got home. Our biggest challenge with IF is the $$. We have no insurance for treatment so all the medical care is out of pocket. We decided a few years ago that we wouldn't do anything until we were in a better position financially. Well, 14 mos ago we decided we weren't going to find the perfect time to do it and we went ahead with a cycle. Not only did it fail, we discovered there are more problems. I was devistated as we have to spend more each time we try. I still refuse and am unable to spend the outrageous sums that others do to have their families. So it really weighs on me that we have limited options and the time we have available is getting shorter and shorter. To make things worse, DH told me that we can continue trying but I have to postpone another trip to WDW. I feel like I have to give up one dream for another.
All told, I'm really close to having an emotional breakdown. I've been battling burn out at work and now this. I have no energy, have to take a nap in the afternoons after work or I fall asleep between 8-9pm. I have a hard time focusing and feel like I'm not getting anything done as well as I should. I'm always angry or grouchy and DH and I have fought a lot the last several days.
My diet is just another burden right now. I feel like I'm depriving myself and can't enjoy my food. This morning I said "Everything I put in my mouth has to have a number. Either a point or calorie count so I can calculate a point." I'm not losing weight right now even with trying to count everything. I weigh in on Fri then by Sun I have gained some of the weight back and spend the rest of the week trying to get rid of it.
I'm not quitting. I'm just not in a good place emotionally and it's making this so much harder. I did have some chocolate yesterday but it was brought back from New Zealand so it was a treat; I probably won't ever have the chance to eat NZ choc ever again. (It was ok but rather odd, there was some bark like stuff with dried fruit and pinenuts. I don't now what they put in it but it was seasoned funny....at least to someone used to eating domestic chocolate.)
I don't have my profile thing done, I'm having isues with getting it to work. I tried a bit yesterday and it wasn't doing what I thought it should.
I called my Dr's office to ask for a Rx for my anti-depressants. They didn't call me back so I'm not sure if I have to make an appt or not. I haven't talked to my boss about a lighter workload but I've been trying to lighten up what I'm doing and trying to focus on the tasks that I'm solely responsible for. DH thinks I should ask for a week or two off to completely destress. Our office manager is out on medical leave right now so two absent employees will be hard for the rest of the staff to cover, especially since we're the one's who handle the ordering and inventory and in general make sure every one has what they need to get the job done. I'd like to just curl up in a ball and make everything go away.
So that's it, in a rather large nutshell.

That is the thing, we don't want to buy the decorations for this one party. We would rather just make something and throw it away after the party. Since it is a church function we don't want to do anything illegal. I think the youth secretary is checking on it. You will have to come check out my tabloid debut once it is released on the WPASADI board. ;)
Noni - I second what Stacey says. Prayer will help you through you trials. We are here for you to vent, scream, holler, cry, or whatever you need us for. We love you, and hope the best for you.:grouphug: My neighbor across the street said that she struggled with getting pregnant, and she told her husband she needed to quit work because the stress was doing her in. Once she quit, she got pregnant the next month. I think having a week or two off would clear your head, and help you sort out what you really want. Here's a :hug: for you.

No, I didn't get stuck with the tab. Each family paid for their own meal. You could tell the waitresses were really mad that they left. They said that their orders were already in the system and couldn't be cancelled (which is what the parents were asking them to do), but they wouldn't know whose meal was whose. :confused3 Then they remembered that they number the spots, so they could figure it out that way. Meanwhile, my son and the other boy, are sitting there staring at us starving and waiting on their food. It is like being the last one picked for a baseball team. :mad: It goes to show why we were 2-12. There is NO team comraderie. I really think the coach should have stood up and said, "No, this is our party and we need the team here." Well, he ended up leaving and going to that game after dinner too, while I took his wife and her older son home. I guess now I know why it happened. He wanted to be there too. Sorry, venting again. :scared:

I thought the same thing because hockey games are notorious for not starting on time. Also, it is the score at the END of the game that matters.

AF came yesterday. The PT said that was probably making my hip worse. Still hurts like heck today. But I have got to go to work - today is dreaded picture day! Not weighing in today. I ate 3 brownies, yes 3 yesterday! I am hanging my head in shame. I could not take the weigh in today. I feel like I have been run over by the wagon!

I dont think there is anything I can say to make you feel any better about the IF issue. I have had friends who have been where you are and I saw how hard it was for them. Some did later have children and some did not. Right now- We have got to pull YOU out of the deep dark hole that you are falling in. Here is my hand- grab hold and I will hold you- we have never met but I feel the sadness in your voice. You dont have to go through this alone. Im here and I care.
Does your work offer an Employee Assistance Plan? Some employers offer counseling for free. The counselors usually cant prescribe meds. If you dont hear from your doctor, call them again.
So- here I am, take my hand and I will hold you tight until you get through this.

UMA is in the house!! Absolutely, Integrity is taught. But I do have to add my own experiences... my boys started playing hockey at age 5 - and hockey has its own rules, its own "class" system, its own "politics" Unless you are very strong, powerful, and wealthy... you have to not make waves. You can slowly question the coach, know that the coach DOES SET THE TONE for the team - and having a dad be a coach is asking for trouble in our area!! So I appreciate the vent, I stand by you, and your son - be careful out there, there are a lot of pot holes along the way!! I LOVE JO's comment, about if it had been a "dinner party" and people got up and left - but see, hockey people just cant do that - you know, the real world, the hockey world... so sad!!

Ok, I have gained back every single pound of my 15 pounds. Surprise!!!!!
Oy!!!! What a yo yo I am! Oh my gooness!!:headache: DOH!
I had ALOT of fun doing it, though. It only took me a couple undisciplined meals and grazing snacks and BAM...I unearned my ribbon. My pretty ribbon!!!!!!!
So? Now what?
So far today I've eaten about 2/3 of a cherry frosted pop tart my dd disn't want. GREAT start!
I'm re-assessing my diet. I am starting over happily on phase I of SB without skipping a beat.
It was alot of fun gaining :yay: I have to say!

Good morning everyone,
I didn't get a chance to post last night but if you all could spare some, I'd really appreciate a little more prayers and pixie dust. I feel like I've been asking for a lot of it lately, but this one is legit, not something frivolous like tooth or a school exam.
I never mentioned it before, but my dad has cancer. He was diagnosed sometime around October I believe. It originated in his stomach and when he was diagnosed it had already spread to his liver, colon, and parts of his lung (I think a lung). Either way, it spread. Which is never good. My parents are divorced and have been since I was a baby. I never remember them together and as far as I'm concerned that was perfectly ok with me. To be honest, my father wasn't a very good dad and didn't see him very often. He'd take me to dinner for my birthday and Christmas and that was about it. It's a long complicated story that I will probably get into at some point but suffice it to say that we aren't close and we don't have a normal father-daughter relationship. We don't fight though - it's not like that. Just not close. Now he lives about 10 hours away in north florida. I last saw him right after the holidays. He was down here for some tests and took me to lunch. The chemo is doing a number on him. He has lost a TON of weight and looks much older. He is in good spirits though as far as I can tell. Anyway, I finally got on the group mailing list so I don't have to receive health updates from other people (don't even get me started on this). He was doing well and the tumors were shrinking but this past week he was unable to get his treatment because his blood cell count was too low. Apparently this is normal and the Dr was surprised it did not happen sooner. But still every step backwards gets me worried. We don't have the best relationship but he is still my dad so if you could spare some prayers and pixie dust for him that he stays in good spirits, reacts positively to his treatment, and eventually beats it I'd really appreciate it.
And to not have a totally depressing post, as I was driving to school this morning, I saw the car in front of me had a lime green mickey antennae topper! Wonder if it was a DISer.
Hope everyone is having a great day today! Tonight is weigh in for me. I'm expecting to gain and I'm just gonna get over it. BUT I did not eat badly this week.

UM ;don't feel bad you are not the only one who has gained weight back .i checked my scale last night and my nice comfortable 194ish is now a uncomfortable 196 (too close to that 200 mark :sad2: and i know it's because of 2 weeks off the wagon )and no excercising,:scared1: well, at least ya know it is possible:thumbsup2 you have done it before and can do it again. that goes for everyone who is yo-yo fluctuating... i am gonna hit the gym every day:yay: and try to watch what i eat , my hardest problem is picking at my kids plate:eek: so i have decided to not fix my food until my kids are done that way i do not over eat, and the second hardest is eating at night ...(That one really hurts me because i am always hungry at night.......:scared1: ) well once again it is :laundy: day so i will be on and off all day.

unfortunately uma, and spongie, I've also gained... and the bad thing, is I'm not sad!! I need to be... I'm in this cloud of indecisiveness... foggy... brain freeze... There was a new poster that posted about the 6wk Body Makeover, and you have outstanding success with South Beach... not to mention Lynda and Dene's faithfulness, and their success!!! :hippie: Sometimes I feel a little like Elizabeth Tayor... here she has all this success, and just wants to enjoy the finer things, champagne, cavier, flourless chocolate cake... what else do I have??

Well I've been off-line all day making a huge puddle of tears and I've said more swear words today than in my whole life! I finally got Jess's school and lets just say it was not on my list of 3 choices and is the worst school in the area. She did not pass her exam! I was obviously incredibly upset about this and she will definately not be going there. I phoned the school to be told the headmistress was not available until Tuesday pm :scared1: So this made me even angrier! I then found out from other parents that they were in the same position so felt a little better although Private school was still high on the agenda!(no WDW trips though or any eating :rotfl2: ) I tell poor Jessica after school and she is in hysterics never wanting to go to school again etc. The phone then rings and it is the head wanting to see me asap as the test was in 3 parts and you had to pass all of them. Well she tells me that Jess scored really high in 2 and just missed out on her maths and she will support an appeal to our first choice school:yay: She also has booked me in to see her at 8.15am tomorrow (so what happened to only tues pm :confused3 ) to start our line of attack. I feel so much better now although it will be a good 2 months before we know the appeal but at least there's light at the end of the tunnel now! Sorry for venting my anger and aren't you all glad you live in America. :rotfl2:

I dont understand. Your kids have to test to determine what school they are allowed to attend? And did I understand correctly that the better you score the more choices of schools you have? You are right- very different from the US. Unfortunately our education system still isnt perfect. Our school systems are economically divided even though its not supposed to be like that- just seems to work out that way. The more affluent communities pay more property tax which funds the schools and the better funded schools draw more teachers and students. At least thats my take on the schools in our area. It may not be like that everywhere. Alot of people choose to homeschool - is that an option?

It does cause so much havoc, our school system decided never to release early w/o warning!! With a blizzard fast approaching, they released the kids before noon - all the working parents werent HOME - "DUH" so the schools have made it a point not to release early -
STAY AWAY STORMS!!!! NO TORNADOES!!!

Where I grew up we literally went to the nearest school end of story, but now we live down south there are so many kids and schools that we can choose (or not as the case may be) We then have elite (Grammar) schools which you need to take a test for, the pass mark varies each year as there are only so many spaces. This year the pass mark was 87% in 3 tests :scared1: She was only 10 when she took these and that is waaaaaay too much pressure at such an early age! I hate the whole system but what can you do? :confused3 I'm feeling better now and will wait to hear what the head says tomorrow!
One good thing though is that I have felt sick all day and hardly eaten and I must have lost a few pounds in tears. :rotfl: Tomorow will tell!

I finally got Jess's school and lets just say it was not on my list of 3 choices and is the worst school in the area. She did not pass her exam! WOW!! is all I can say. This is so different from us.
We have been in the hallway for the past hour and 15. Not fun at all. The weather has cleared for now, but they have cancelled all after school things because another band is coming in about an hour--just in time for us to leave. Hopefully we will not be back in the hallway.

I have seen smilies on others pages that I can't seem to find! Do you get more depending on our number of posts? I wanted 2 in particular that I saw...one for prayer and one of the banana in Mickey ears and shorts. Does anybody know anything about these? :confused3 (Or am I losing my DISing mind?!?)
Life here is the same. DH & I were suppose to be going to NYC for our nephews 30th b'day party at a jazz club in Greenwich Village. However, we can no longer go, as DH hurt his back in Dec and re-did something to it Sun. He hasn't even slept in our bed the past 2 nights, as the lazy boy is more comfortable! :confused: I don't understand that, but...OK. So now we will be doing errands and cleaning the bedroom. Maybe some "extra exercise for his back?!? :rotfl:)
I have been doing terrible with my eating and exercise. Now that it is March, I am making a goal to do "something" for 30 min everyday. Most of the time there is noone home at night, so this should be no problem. I'll have to get the clothes off the TM and open it up!!! :rotfl2: The only day I won't do formal exercise is wed & Sat, as I work at a deli and am on my feet for 8-10 hrs a day. :faint:
OK...that is my goal and I'm sticking to it! :thumbsup2

Were they Mickey D's? If so, go to McDonald's website. I don't know how many nuggets you had or if you had the fries too, but I don't think a 6-piece nuggets is that bad actually, calorie-wise. I can't remember exactly what it is though.
And Wonders - You will be in my thoughts and prayers! My heart goes out to you! I lost my dad a little over 3 years ago, and we had been close when I was younger, but had drifted a bit in later years. I don't know that I would call our relationship strained. We had our issues, one being that we had two generation gaps between us. He was almost 50 years older than me. But he and my mom had been divorced since I was 10, and I spent a lot of time with him until I went away to school. We just didn't see each other as often after I got married and moved about 45 minutes away from him. Well, I was trying to be brief, so prayers and pixiedust: for you and your dad.

1. I ate chocolate. Strawberries, and toffee candy. (did I mention the champagne? ) I've eaten 2 or three huge cheeseburgers, one Wendys' I've had Dr Pepper, and Ceasar Salad. I'm ready to drown in fat.
2. I love Regency romance novels.. but never read Pride and Prejudice! Dont know why, I know the story line, its even mentioned in some of the novels I've read - and I think I saw only part of the movie!!
3. I bid on Priceline, I was goofing around. I bid $40 on a 2 night stay at a 4* hotel in Springfield IL (I always wanted to see the new Lincoln museum, I've done the capital, his house, and the old homestead, and Lincoln tomb, but I wanted to take dd there ) THEY ACCEPTED my crummy low ball bid!! :scared1: Now I have to confess to dh... he's not going to believe it, and I doubt he'll be happy... but its 2 nights during spring break, and I need a change of scenary with dd!! :scared1:

okay.....i need advice and i figured this is the place to get it!
i'm 30 years old. i'm 5'3" and i weigh about 160 (eeekkkk!!!!!!!! that's a hard one to be honest about!). i work out 3-4 times a week with a mix of weights and cardio. my best friend is a fitness trainer, so she really helps me with my workouts and i enjoy them - it's the hour out of the day that i can just think of nothing but getting through this workout - no work, no family, no drama, no finances, nothing. i eat healthy, not cutting out carbs completely but trying to do the "good carb" thing with whole wheat everything and lots of lean meat, fruits, veggies. i'm not too stressed out with my life, i love my job and i have a wonderful marriage.
so how come i can't get into the shape i want to??? :confused3
i began using a fat burner (lipo 6) on the advice of my fitness trainer friend at the beginning of january. that was 2 months ago. now i don't expect to drop 6 sizes in that amount of time, but i just took an updated bathing suit picture to see how i'm doing and i'm not noticing ANY difference! it's so frustrating and discouraging.
i've always had a big butt and thick legs. it's in my genes. i know i can't get away from it. so i KNOW i'll never be a size 4. my goal is to get down to 130, although i don't want to concentrate too much on my weight because i do work out a lot and i know i'm building muscle, which accounts for a good bit of that weight.
i'm thinking of trying out a diet, but i have no idea where to start. i've never done anything like weight watchers or nutrisystem.....just kind of winged it on my own.
any advice????????

okay.....i need advice and i figured this is the place to get it!
i'm 30 years old. i'm 5'3" and i weigh about 160 (eeekkkk!!!!!!!! that's a hard one to be honest about!). i work out 3-4 times a week with a mix of weights and cardio. my best friend is a fitness trainer, so she really helps me with my workouts and i enjoy them - it's the hour out of the day that i can just think of nothing but getting through this workout - no work, no family, no drama, no finances, nothing. i eat healthy, not cutting out carbs completely but trying to do the "good carb" thing with whole wheat everything and lots of lean meat, fruits, veggies. i'm not too stressed out with my life, i love my job and i have a wonderful marriage.
so how come i can't get into the shape i want to??? :confused3

I currently am just counting calories and making sure that I have healthy choices available...I lead a hectic lifestyle and a diet like SB is very hard to follow for me personally, but lots of folks on here have had success....my advice keep a food journal....eat normally for a few days and then look at how many calories you are taking in, another thing is to judge the level of cardio you are doing. are you really huffing and puffing or just breezing thru? pushing yourself to work harder?
i wish I had something to offer you more, but I cant seem to do much myself hre lately

Punkin - Welcome! I am doing weight watchers which I love because I feel like I can eat whatever I want if I'm willing to count the points for it but I know that there is a limit to how much I can eat (my points per day). Everyone here is doing something different - whatever works best for you! Even though you are doing the good carb thing, you still may be eating too much to actually lose. OR (and I'm totally serious) you may not be eating enough. Have you been doing the same exercise routine for awhile? Perhaps your body is in a rut and needs something different or more challenging? Try tweaking your diet in addition to switching up the exercise routine and give it a week to see how you do. That's my advice.
Everyone - Thanks for you prayers for my Dad. I'm sure I will eventually start posting about our relationship but I just don't have the energy for it right now.
CONFESSION - after weigh in tonight, I ate Taco Bell. I was craving it BIG time and thursday nights are my cheat night so I don't feel too guilty but obviously I feel a little guilty because I felt the need to confess to all of you. It had nothing to do with my weigh in though - I had actually planned it before I even went to my meeting. Oh it was 2 soft tacos and a burrito but I only had 2 bites of the burrito. It had beans on it - yuck. BUT if anything good came out of it is that I didn't eat that whole burrito. The old me would have eaten it anyway because it was there, picking off every bite that did not have beans on it. But I didn't.
Guess that is it for now. I really want to get some work done tonight so I have less to do tomorrow and I can play this weekend.

It does cause so much havoc, our school system decided never to release early w/o warning!! With a blizzard fast approaching, they released the kids before noon - all the working parents werent HOME - "DUH" so the schools have made it a point not to release early -

Hey Everyone!
We are fine. It got really scary for a minute. I live off 20/59 and there was a suspected rotation at Abernant/Bucksville- my exit. But all is well. No damage and everybody is safe. Our school let out at noon today so my kids were home and safe. Lets all pray for the families in Enterprise, AL. A school was hit with fatalities.
I got on here to check on all of you as well. I hope all of you were as fortunate.

punkin- Welcome. Hang in there. I have to keep telling myself that I didnt gain weight overnight and its not going to come off overnight either. But Im like you - I REALLY want 40 pounds to just drop off and be gone. You are on the right track with exercise. And what a plus to have a trainer to keep you motivated. Im not much on supplements and such- I have tried diet pills- and as you can see Im right back where I started. It really is a lifestyle change. But change is always hard. WeightWatchers is a sound program-Nutrisystem is expensive IMO. Im just counting calories- 1200 per day and try for less than 30 gm fat per day which is hard with my fast food addiction. So keep up the good work.:cheer2:

so i've been reading through this thread and i think this is my plan:
1. drink more water!!!!!!! i drink some every day, but honestly not enough. i think (hope) this will help. and i've already made a step in the right direction with this.......my neighbor's little boy is selling cases of coke products for his baseball team. i had ordered a case of diet coke, but called him tonight and told him to change it to bottled water. go me!
2. write down what i eat. i do have a question about this. exactly WHAT do you guys write down? fat grams? carbs? calories? also, does anyone know of a useful website i can look at to find out how much of these things i need every day (as compared to how much i want - haha)?
3. do more cardio. after my weight training classes (which i LOVE) i'm going to do 20-30 minutes of cardio on the eliptical (sp?) machine or treadmill before i leave the gym. i don't normally do this because my classes start at 5:45 and go til 6:45 - 7:00. so by the time i talk to everyone for 20 minutes and then have the 20-minute drive home from the gym, it's time for american idol (or some other time-sucking show) to start and god forbid i miss any of that!!! i would do my cardio before my classes, but my fitness trainer friend (who i will from now on refer to as wonder woman) tells me that you should do cardio after weights because your body will be in fat-burning mode for the cardio. so.......i will not talk to all my gym friends after class, go straight to the cardio machines and get my butt in gear!!!! and if i miss the first 10 minutes of american idol, i think i'll live!
i think this is a start. any other suggestions will be of course welcomed!!!!

Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! My WW leader talked last week about why our bodies gain weight so easily from eating carbs after being on a high protein diet like SB. Something about carb molecules glomming on to water. I'll have to ask her about that again.

DO, I posted the prayer smilie. You can Google for whatever smilie I'm looking for, then you can post it like you would any other graphic. There may be other/easier ways, but here's how I do it:
Open a new browser window where you can access Google.
Look in Google or Google Images until you find a smilie you like.
Right click the smilie.
Right click Copy Image Location. Sometimes it will copy, other times you can do Ctrl-C.
Click on where you want to insert it into your DIS message, then click on the Insert Picture icon. You may have to change your editing settings under the Control Panel to do this. Mine is set at Standard Editor, Extra Editing Controls.
Paste the image location in the address window (Ctrl-V).
This usually works. If it doesn't, it's because your smilie is from a location that doesn't allow you to link to.

all right all you dogooders posting confessions....heres mine and isno fun typing this neither...I ate 2.5 pieces pizza and had 2 Reeses eggs for supper...blah - weigh isgonna be harsh tomorrow,
but its not my fault AF is here and I have had a very extremely emotional day, reliving some emotions of when my daddy passed...I NEEDED that first Reeses the second one was in case I needed some more comfort later...

well, my "trainer" is my best friend. she's the group fitness trainer at my gym, has an almost-3-year-old and is in excellent (and i mean excellent!) physical condition. she does fitness competitions and usually does pretty well with them. so i'm very lucky to have her as my friend! and yes, i too am not keen on supplements. i was just frustrated with the amount of exercise i do and the amount of fat i wasn't losing. so she recommended a fat burner to help me in that department. i totally trust her - she would never tell me to put something in my body that wasn't safe. plus she knows i'm not going to abuse them like some people do.
