This particular guy does it all the time. He's come to meetings with eyes watering, nose running, yuck. He prides himself on being at work every day. He doesn't get he's the cause of the rest of us being out sick.
That's just wrong..and GROSS

I can understand if kid is really sick... But I'm not one of those parents who will keep my kid home at the slightest sniffle....
My DH has nieces who are allowed to stay home at the drop of anything...I feel sorry for their bosses later in life.....
I've always taught my dd to suck it up and go to school. (i draw the line at puking of course) Many jobs do not give you sick time now-a-days and since I'm not independently wealthy i go to work.
When DD was little she would throw a slight fever at each tooth. (It was a phase. Fever, drool, rash, tooth. The daycare she was at would call me to come get her the second her temp went over 99. Of course then i could give them permission to give her tylenol but i still had to leave work. by the time, i'd get there, my dd was happy, playing, no fever. DOH!!!!!
and to think i lost that job because of all the times daycare made me pick her up for nothing.....
My dd also has sensitive skin so does get freaky rashes (Moreso when she was younger....They would usually go right away in a day or so. She gets like an eczema thing on her inner elbow and knees. Once the dance teacher made me take her home and not to come back without a dr's note because the teacher thought she had ringworm... I knew this was not the case but got the note anyway and shoved said note in her face....
Never got bothered again....
Just a working parents point of view....
I understand there are two sides to this and I've had daycares where they seemed to us 'sick' as an excuse to solve overcrowding.
My daughter's school is bad about calling us for the slightest thing, but they don't usually force a pick-up.
Although I had to get nasty with one helper b/c she tried to pull the '24 hour rule' on me on time. They called me around noon one day and said DD had a fever. I was at lunch and decided just to take the afternoon off and pick her up. The next morning the helper tried to prevent me from checking her in b/c it had not been 24 hours. After politely telling her the rule didn't apply b/c I had not been asked to pick her up but came on my own and still getting resistance, I walked around her to the classroom and dropped her off with her teacher and told the teacher if there were any issues, to have the center director call me. They never did.
But I think that once the fever hits 100 or the kid throws up, it is time to go home for a day.

Well, if you had read any of my previous posts, you would know I graduated HS in 1986, am old enough to have seen Star Wars when it originally came out and Playboy Playmates are young enough to be my daughter.
I've missed you too, sweetie.
J/K about the 'senior' moment. But the BLENDER? I could see forgetting sunscreen, or your husband, BUT THE BLENDER?
Oh MR...please don't hate me because I'm in my 30's (also graduated in 86)...I'll be 40 on the TOAL!

She loads the older ones up with motrin and sends them to school and the other all teachers know it. She just thinks everyone's stupid.

My DD had the same rule -unless you have a fever or are throwing up, on the bus you go. She would play sick every day if she thought for one second she could get away with it. She does not like school at all ;) .
When I say, loads them up with motrin and sends them to school, this is the incident (one of many) that comes to mind: This boy fell asleep during circle time mid-morning three days in a row. Was sent to the nurse had 101 fever every day. THe second day, instead of taking him home or to DR, she had him go to HER clasroom and wait till the end of the day. Why the school allowed that, I'll never know. Although, she is good friends with the school's nurse. Third day back at school again, same thing. Finally leaves work to take him to the Dr. where he had an ear infection and strep throat. All her kids get strep constantly.
Oh my, in your senario, I would never even bother a parent at work (except to approve meds), never mind make them leave work for a teething child, and the symptoms, as you describe them, are obviously consistant with teething. I hope my post didn't come off as that is something I would do in my daycare :confused3 .
However, it is my responsibility to keep this enviroment as healthy as possible for everyone's children (including my own). From a Daycare Mom's point of view, believe me, it is a fine line and can be an uncomfortable confrontation (the coxsackie incident surely was) to deal with. So much so, I will always give the benefit of the doubt first. That being said, there is a big difference between a common cold and a sick, fevering, contagious child, and Moms know the difference ;) . I consider myself a working Mom too, and do not get paid when I have to close my daycare due to illness on my part. Bottom line, common sense should always prevail on all sides.

Hey folks....I'm back from DL (boo hoo) and trying to ketchup while doing actual work....
Had a great trip. Got to have a mini meet with grandma X3 (Chris) and her DGKs. Had a lovely afternoon with them, especially Rockin' Space Mountain. My son loved having other kids around. Poor guy, he's usually stuck with just mom.
I'll be poking along here trying to see what went on this weekend.
Hi all! We arrived back from vacation Saturday evening. Spent Sunday (Easter) at MIL's, and yesterday getting things back in order.
It's been so long since I've posted.....I feel lost again. But I wanted to tell you all about our Magical time at Disney.
I'm so sorry we weren't able to make it to the DIS mini-meet. Hope you all had a great time. We were primarily down there for a wedding. So we had to plan around that and visiting with family, etc.
We went to Epcot on Tuesday, April 3rd. What a great day! Upon exiting our second ride of the day (Living with the Land), a CM asked us how many were in our party, and then handed us each a Dream Fastpass. Boy, did that make our day go smooth! We were spoiled after this. On Wednesday, April 4th, we went to Magic Kingdom. Even though it was an extremely busy day, I never felt the crowds were unmanagable. We took Fastpasses for each of the "big" attractions, and POC was the first ride we hit. We never waited in line longer than 30 min. all day, and managed to do everything we wanted to. In the late afternoon, we were headed over to redeem our Space Mountain FP, and a CM approached us and handed each of us a one-time use FP good for any ride. I'm telling you....the pixie dust was just flowing!
Our weather was perfect! Just an overall great trip. Hope I didn't miss too much around here. Hope everyone is well.
Happy Birthday to everyone who celebrated over the past couple of weeks!
:welcome: Welcome Home, Deanna & Monica :welcome:

Wow...
it seem like there's alot of inter-acting going on or some are
just unlucky running into the cranks. :rotfl:
:flower3: to o'bmv. however, it still sounded like a wonderful wdw
trip. maybe, they were wishing for some of your devil's juice? :rolleyes1
maybe you should have shared? [ i think accidentally spilling would been
a waste...so sez the lil'devil in my pirate: ]. my guess, the lady @ wdw
was using that as an excuse to stopped her nagging kids? while your
boss was probably hoping you took her with you? maybe they were at
the "rocking-d bar" causing a bunny hop? ......p.s., if you rever decide to
share, plez let us guys know first. * they're are the ones that usually starts
taking their clothes off...after one tote. & "i", already seen too many
shocking things in my life, already. Good for you! not wasting any
of the "good stuff"....but if you ever run into her again, have her "look"
into your glass before letting it flies. [:dumbo: ].
social skills 101...its just as easy to give those around you~ a reason to
like you than not. those never learning the basics...grow into personality
disorders. they are miserable people and in order to feel good about
themselves, they hurt others. unfortunatley, those that lives life
well, are usually their targets. (esp. when they find a position to do so)
i must commend you on your professional "limit setting"...redirecting is
the way to blocked out their annoyances and move on.
* i have felt others asinine responses , & it is easy to tell the difference.
however, i am most "defensive" when it comes to my children...& i came
from a family of 7 boys {3 sisters/spoilt...just to show it based on reality,
my oldest had a blue convertible T-bird...(high school)...while i only had
a 59' chevy el canio= }....warning! can & will explode!
yep, that's me> :simba: , barely trained. 2004 cruise,i asked 2 fellas to
make a lane so i could leave the farewell show. what they did, were to
locked arms as a barrier...feeling ill, i was in no mood for games, so
i burst thru with ease..while one gave me the evil eye, my response was
to the point..bring it on, i 've no problem vomiting all over you! :snooty:
http://www.vishwacsena.co.in/images/Crazy.gif
I had to chime in ...
... I get the same way... except I think I would have been happier to have vomited on the turkeys who wanted to lock arms! (NOT!) However, the thought seems laced with enuf mischief and vindictive nonsense to make me seek out a mirror to double check if I didn't somehow wake up a different person!
At any rate - I can get mildly defensive when vile folks rear and vent. However, I like to think that my responses are measured and remain ... diplomatic. My spouse on the other hand usually counsels me to let it pass if she's around. And most of the time I relent. Ocassionally I get to witnessjustice in action though.
Once we were drivin' north on the 101 (AKARATEMOM... this is just in your neck of the woods!)... just as the 101 exits the fringe of Ventura the freeway opens to a beautiful ocean side drive and I noticed and watched in my rear view mirror as this convertible corvette was zig zagging through the cars... not safely or casually - but maliciously. And as they passed me two lanes over through the emergency lane the passenger was raising a clenched fist in mock defiance and I had just enuf time to glance sideways at my spouse to see her looking my way and shaking her head. I and the other driver had not had time to actively block this driver nor did anyone LIKELY even SEE these guys coming up on them. I notice them only because I drive a LOT and tend to scan front and back all the time.
http://www.cartoonworld.org/nss-folder/stripcartoons/Speeding%20man.gif
Well... not more then about 5-15 seconds AFTER these guys passed I missed seeing in my rear view mirror (due to the distraction this corvette posed) that a California Highway Partolman went zipping pass (slightly safer driving but just as fast) in pursuit! My spouse broke out in a whooping hollar and turned to smile big at me. If anyone ever deserved to be pulled over it sure looked as if these two MIDDLE AGED guys deserved it! We got a good look at the pulled over cars with the driver in the moment of reaching back for his wallet as the CHP had his door open but was not out yet. Maybe he was about to tell them to hold thier hands up before he approached? We passed at freeway speeds and I had no more then a glance obviously.
And you know what? I would even be nice enough to volunteer - that MAYBE these guys had a good excuse for what they were doing... maybe his passenger was spouting blood and he was running to the hospital (NOT - as no hospitals are in that direction) ... or something similar... but the officer would make that determination. And if not outrageously justified somehow (what would be, eh?)... then I hope their citation was an EXPENSIVE one. Folks with such bad habits tend to continue their bad habits until "it hurts". Either their insurance gets too expensive, their tickets cost too much (successive tickets in short order cost mush more), their license gets suspended (same bracket reason as above)... or they wreck their car and get injured. Actually, the "Lucky Ones" are those who learn their lesson with a ticket and traffic school... or those who DON'T get tickets or into accidents are the lucky ones.
At any rate, we're ALL probably had run ins with the folks described (below)
.....
social skills 101...its just as easy to give those around you~ a reason to
like you than not. those never learning the basics...grow into personality
disorders. they are miserable people and in order to feel good about

i must commend you on your professional "limit setting"...redirecting is

.....
I tend to feel a pang on sorrow for folks who have lost their attitude. I've had moments when I lost MY attitude (possibly in a different way, though)... and now I think I've largely mastered my wild "bad" feelings .... but I remember the past when I was not master - but slave to ocassional wild feelings. And it's a sad time. Now - I know some day in the future I'll likely lose it again - maybe in the midst of a tragedy or if I'm lucky I'll lose it over really good joke. But when I do I hope to survive it without causing anyone else undue harm or brusing their feelings.

Lil' Grumpy, as usual, your contributions were poetic and insightful.... thanks for sharing your thoughts. :thumbsup2
Oh yeah... you're a nut too!
JUST Like me!
Speaking of....
.... me being a "nut"... I remember once I felt like a nut when I RENAMED MY DOG on account of a fellow who worked for us who was emotionally unstable and abusive with coworkers. He had some responsibility over others and I was trying to salvage him to a tolerable state. I rarely fire people except in cases of fraud or criminal investigation - or suspected misconduct. Letting people go is a touchy thing that I prefer to avoid unless absolutely necessary. Well... I had one person approach me admitting their reluctance on account of their assuming I was "protecting" the offending worker. Well... I explained that I was protecting NO ONE.... but as a matter of practice I was trying to salvage this person - and I was giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe their conduct was temporary and possibly linked to a temporary personal hardship outside of work. Matters like that are not things I ask or probe about typically.
In the end - I demoted the fellow to obscurity where he could influence no one. As predicted, he resigned and I had no employment reference inqueries. I sincerely wished him well - even though he had cost me a lot more $ then he ever got paid... and I lost considerable time an energy in renaming my dog on account of his name sounding similar to my dogs original name!

Good morning everyone.
It's been an adventure the last week or so. Things have settled down from the layoffs and we've moved into a new building. While I don't like the drive, 20 minutes w/o traffic if I leave my house at 7am, I can see Disneyland and Angels Stadium from the north-facing windows to the right of me. Of course my boss, knowing I'm a Disney fan put me by the west facing windows.
Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend.

or non-scented? [could have a bearing whether or not the captain 's
dirt got play with or turned into mud, just sazing. ] not that there's
anything wrong with mud..pies are awful tasty, i've heard?

... I'm gonna be there for Friday the 13th and I can be a little superstitious... which may be WHY I am going there. I have business interests in Vegas and I actually am NOT a gambler of any merit. SO - I most certainly do not want to have anything happen that needs to "stay in Vegas!"....

As of lately I've seen so many wonderful and elaborate birthday cake images that I've been intimidated into inaction (to post a cake). Cheers to all who have found such wonderful and elaborate images.
Oh yeah... Happy belated birthday wishes to all whom I have missed posting B'day wishes lately. i feel the same way, cpt. crash! :thumbsup2 , *for our cruise, we
were paying attention to those belonging to the disboards...and they
impressed us the most. one of my personal favorite was meeting you
and your beautiful family..psst, esp. talking with your wife. :)
anyone noticed?..here's me busy doing nothing..while our grass is
over growing...[which my wife claimed i am an expert]
woswer...did anyome read the postings concerning rockin d shows?
:sad2: ...a cruise cost so much to find those without any couth.
* it should be said that i do enjoy a wild tyme, as long as it
is with my li'miss cutie pie.
i don't see no benefits being nasty, except when redirecting bullies.
[if given no other options]. bullies & me ...do not mix as evidenced by
our history of crossing paths. i learned thru my current work, they
become society outcasts & straying into all kinds of mental disablilites.
even their families wants rid of them due to their ongoing negative
behaviors. * since all behaviors have meanings, your boss comments were
telling you something that isn't good...or she is unloading frustrations
coming from someone else..that she afraid to address. remember , just
because someone does something hurtful to you, dosen't mean you
deserved it! her commnets were attacking and personal..so i would
think...she resents or envys you...probably because you are so happy!
dear atakaratemom..you are very direct on hitting the nail on the head!
no room for misunderstands! :thumbsup2 . all i could think of..chop/chop!
i'll bet you & sk8....are going to kick pirate: 's backsides, huh? [its
very comforting that you see me in the positive light...:scared: ,
not like the rest of those troublemakers swabbies...:rolleyes1
me?..i sorta the shy pirate: ,except maybe getting all excited when
playing in the dirt!
hey cpt. disney [pilot]...:thumbsup2 tatoo! [it is something i 'll
never do....me & needles are like me & bullies..not happening!] psst,
i do take pics of cool ones! :wizard:
i'm also with mkygrl....about those exposing their germ warfare...
the # 1 to move to another table....:grouphug: .
our 2004..cruise was crazy...one day  , next prefectly normal...
:confused3 ..i bet i washed my hands 10x times!
:rolleyes1 , allshookup...though it is my unbirthday... would you make
up one of those cakes for lil'me? psst, i'll hide it from lil'miss chocolate
lover...
ok who's been in their kiddies easter baskets? popcorn::

My oldest DD is in Ohio right now, and she wore flip-flops on the plane up there. Glad she's not the only one!:cutie:
What part of Ohio is she in Stace? I know the Cleveland area got dumped on with snow. Luckily, we only got a dusting, and it's gone now.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a night. :( I didn't get to bed until 1:30...and it wasn't because I was DISing. I was at the ER with DS from 6:50 until 1:10 am. We went to a birthday party yesterday afternoon & the kids were outside playing on the trampoline. He is use to them & knows the rules. Well, he was getting down because I told them we were going home and his foot slipped on the stepstool making him fall headfirst to the ground. He of course put his hands out to protect himself and his right hand took the impact. He came in crying and the palm of his hand was bleeding from what looked like a puncture. The kids showed the dad where he had fallen and he found a pine tree twig that probably caused it...since he also had a couple of splinters in the palm of his hand as well. I rushed home to drop off DD and have the nurse next door look at it to see if a trip to urgent care was justified or overreacting on my part. She said that it looked like it was starting to swell from something being inside the skin so off we went...only to find it closed early for Easter. A quick call to the ped on call had us going to the ER to get it checked out...where we waited a very long time. It was an hour inbetween everything...having his name called for triage & registration, 80 minutes before being called back to sit on a bed in the hallway to wait another 70 minutes to have the doctor check him out, then an xray, then meds, then move to a room. It was after midnight before the doctor came in to treat it. It took longer for the meds to numb his hand...the poor kid had the needle poked in his hand many times to get that done. :( :( :( Good thing though because they had to hold him down just because he saw what the doctor was going to use to cut his hand open to get the stick out. I worked on keeping his eyes covered the rest of the time and he was in good spirits soon after that was done. The doctor was really good with him so that helped a lot. We hadn't had dinner so I told him that he could have anything he wanted when we left. After picking up a milkshake at McD's we finally got home.
DD just went to school...not at all happy about the fact that her brother is still in bed sleeping. I am going to try to go back to sleep too before he wakes up & needs more painkillers. He has a splint since they have to treat it as a sprain due to where it happened. He is concerned about not being able to write or play his gameboy. ;) I'll check in some time today.
Aw....sorry you had to go through this...but also saw in other reports that he's doing better....that's great

At any rate... I did have a belated cake and singing this weekend with my BILs' family from Maui. Except my little 3 year old nephew who was sitting next to me laughably blew out my candles as soon as we were finished singin' happy birthday to Tom... everyone laughed all the harder with his beating me to blowing out the candles!

Gotta love the Craftsman tool box in the room. ;)
I have no idea why, but Jay asked me last night if I still had my tattoo. Why wouldn't I?? Did he think it was going to disappear? And doesn't he ever LOOK?? :lmao:
LOL....my son asked me the same thing a few days ago...he really did think it would fade away.
But as for yours, isn't Jay your DH? I think I'd be offended if my DH (if I were married) would ask such a question.

Hi All,
Just had to sign back in real quick. Just arrived home a few minutes ago from picking Angelina up from work. She got out a little late, but was carrying a B-a-B box with her. Little did I know, she had made me an "early" birthday present at work tonight, I have attached a photo below. You should have seen me grinning from ear to ear when I opened the box.

Well wishes on your husbands' new assignment - and the adventure and discovery the new vistas will bring. I believe I've already mentioned how I've lived myentire life within about 60 miles of where I was born - and I would welcome a change of scenery if it was convenient or a normal part of our careers. Oh well... maybe some day we'll really retire and get that motor home I've mused over and see this grand and beautiful country of ours at a liesurely pace. Until that days rolls around I'll have to ust day dream here with my sailing co-conspirators about the upcoming TOAL ... this is gonna be our longest sailing ever and one we're not sure we're gonna repeat too soon. As yet there are so many other things to do and places to vist on th planet - and soon enough we're gonna have 2 more DIS ships to hop 'round the planet! Wooo Hooo,...
ny minute now my spouse is gonna knock at the hotel door and I'll be off for the day.... driving back from Bakersfield to home to hook up with our daughters' doctor. She awakened this morning with a ever - one I'm sure came from her Maui cousin who was jut coming down with a fever on Sunday. RATS.... and we're scheduled to travel to Vegqs on Thursday too....:rolleyes1
By the way... I've always wanted to take the Alaskan Ferries for a tour of some Alaskan ports... it sounds like a real adventuresome journey!

Is there someone who was responsible for doing those when you were gone? That is just rediculous! :(
Well, I was TOLD I was going to get help a couple of weeks each quarter. We are now into the second quarter of 2007 and I haven't seen any help whatsoever so far. In the past six years our township had gone through a building boom, and it's getting too much for me to handle by myself. Maybe if I didn't take any vacation time, and worked the holidays we have off, then maybe I could keep all the readings up to date by myself. That ain't goin' to happen though.............:rotfl2:

For what it's worth... I'll let ya all in on a little secret. In the last couple of weeks with my computer dead and me sidelined off the DIS mostly ... I had MY birthday pass and I guess I had not posted the date on the DIS board yet. Oh well... I liked having had a quiet DIS birthday.... (snif).

But as for yours, isn't Jay your DH? I think I'd be offended if my DH (if I were married) would ask such a question.
Yes, Jay is the DH. The tat is located in such a spot as to make it not so easy for him to see unless he were following me out of the shower. ;) ;) And I really try to not have anyone see that wiggly side of me! :lmao:

Just wanted to pop in and say YAY!
I just had a lovely conversation with the HR manager of what seems to be a great org. in DC. It was a pre-screening interview. I think it went well. Fingers crossed and all....
In similar news.
My board officially hired my replacement last night. She starts April 30. I'll work part time for 2 weeks, then twiddle my thumbs for a month & a half before we can leave (imagine my post count...). DH's Change of Command is sched. for 6/29, so we are jumping on the poor man's Alaska cruise (state ferry) on 7/2. A real cruise would be great, but I can't check my SUV and my puppie on Princess or Norwegian.

Welcome back! Congrats on the unexpected booty! :thumbsup2

:grouphug: I hope DS is doing better by now. Not too exciting to spend time in ER. Have been there and done that way too many times.:rolleyes1

DF/Sil has a perfect attendance record for ALL FOUR YEARS of high school! She had to go even if she was sick, sneezing, coughing, hacking... Yeah, she was a Typhoid Mary because the other kids got sick.
BTW her name IS Mary! ;)
Even now she doesn't take off sick from work! She gets one free bonus day because she didn't take any of her 14 sick days during the year! :sad2: We tried to tell he it really would be okay for her to take 2 sick days so as to extend her trip by that amount be she doesn't want to give up her one free day award.

Thank you ....Its not so much the Tattoo for CJS , I also like the Tattoo and think it really is a cool tattoo and what it symbolizes (im nuts) no just joking ....In the Movie the tattoo is explained in a sense that the sun and the Ocean represent "A Captain" and of course the Sparrow represents of course Captain Jack Sparrow..Thats why when Norrington looked at it he said Captain Sparrow.......In other terms the Tattoo represents "freedom" and I like that expression
Didnt hurt at all ....they call that area the "DUDE" spot and there are a couple of other areas like the upper arm where most get a tattoo as well ...the Dude spot is an area that really doesnt hurt at all ..Dont get me wrong there is a little pain but nothing a person cant tolerate ..

this was my problem today!! i swear...i could go on and on and on!!! i told the one mom not to bring her 2...yes i said 2, sick kids back tomorrow if they had even the slightest fever...and she rolled her eyes at me. i told her i was NOT allowed due to state rules...not allowed to have sick kids with fevers in my daycare. i told her that i hoped i wasn't going to be forced to shut down at the end of the week cuz all the kids were sick. She looked at me...rolled her eyes...and then said i couldn't shut down...she and her husb have awfully busy weeks at work! OK....like i don't have a life...and a family in the house...that i need to keep healthy! happy birthday my dear children!! hope my kids enjoy the bugs and germs that everyone brought them for their special day!!! UGH! BLAH!! sorry! i'm done ranting now! thanks for bearing with me!
Shannon she rolled her eyes?? Oooh people make me hoppin' mad! All I can say is the more I know people, the more I love my Dog!!
Welcome home Deanna sound like your trip was great. I should have done the parks in the order you did. We didn't make out okay until we met up the Mark the VIP! Glad you had a great time!
Its just not right postin as FairyGodMomma.......................:confused3
Our trip so far has been outstanding...........weather is getting warmer everyday............Gettin ready to head to the beach for Breakfast.......nothin better than sittin watching the waves roll in............unless it at Topsiders !!! :cool1:
Hope everyone is doing great........Was great to meet everyone at the mini meet !!! Disney Rules !!!!
Mark
Mark, I was reading FairyGodMomma, but hearing Mark :lmao: Sound like you guys are having a great Vakay!! Enjoy the rest of it Pal!
Hi Mark! Great to meet both of you.
MR, where do you work? and is she the owner of the business? My friend in NJ, had such a miserable boss, (she knew she was going thru a really difficult time) starting reprimanding and tearing her down in front of all the other coworkers. End result, she had a breakdown in front of everyone. Out on medical leave for 2 months and many meds later finally returned to work, but got a transfer out of that department into another one. Now that's what I call a real b****.
She's doing fine now but this ***** knew the way to pull her chain and purposely devastated her. I was so proud of her going back and facing her.
Hi Arlene...she is the owner and I'll tell you in chat Friday where I work okay?? That is awful about your friend, but great that she faced her again too!

Very funny Todd, you had me going for a minute! :lmao:
It's not really one of my better stories.
I was in Las Vegas with friends (it was actually a mini-meet of sorts) and we were at the Jello-shot bar at the MGM Grand....right near the door to the walkway from MGM to New York, New York.
Our group was having their shots, and there were these three guys from Ireland. We were all talking and being friendly. My group finished their shots, and they all started heading for the MGM casino. The three Irish guys put their arms around me, and started walking me toward the exit. I was trying to get away, and trying to holler at my group...but I also didn't want to make too big a fuss, because I thought they were just kidding around. KWIM?
Well, they weren't letting me go, and kept heading me for the doors. Finally, one of the young guys who was in my group turned around looking for me......so he and a couple of other guys came after me.
Turned out, they had to struggle a bit to get the Irish guys to let go of me!! :scared: I hadn't felt too threatened at first, because, afterall, if they were going to nab a woman, wouldn't they have chosen a much younger one???:confused3
No Stace, they would have chosen the beautiful, funny, and outgoing you Pal!! Thank goodness your friends were there though Yikes!
Welcome back from you Vacation Monica! Sound like a lot of fun and you got to have a mini-meet with Chris too Neat!! Got pics??
Wow...hers, stop! whatever you're doiong, and go outside, the
:sunny: is shining!
it seem like there's alot of inter-acting going on or some are
just unlucky running into the cranks.
Good for you! not wasting any

i feel the same way, cpt. crash! :thumbsup2 , *for our cruise, we

impressed us the most. one of my personal favorite was meeting you
and your beautiful family..psst, esp. talking with your wife. :)
anyone noticed?..here's me busy doing nothing..while our grass is

woswer...did anyome read the postings concerning rockin d shows?
:sad2: ...a cruise cost so much to find those without any couth.
* it should be said that i do enjoy a wild tyme, as long as it
is with my li'miss cutie pie.
i don't see no benefits being nasty, except when redirecting bullies.
[if given no other options]. bullies & me ...do not mix as evidenced by
our history of crossing paths. i learned thru my current work, they
become society outcasts & straying into all kinds of mental disablilites.
even their families wants rid of them due to their ongoing negative
behaviors. * since all behaviors have meanings, your boss comments were
telling you something that isn't good...or she is unloading frustrations
coming from someone else..that she afraid to address. remember , just
because someone does something hurtful to you, dosen't mean you
deserved it! her commnets were attacking and personal..so i would
think...she resents or envys you...probably because you are so happy!
dear atakaratemom..you are very direct on hitting the nail on the head!
no room for misunderstands! . all i could think of..chop/chop!

hey cpt. disney [pilot]...:thumbsup2 tatoo!
:rolleyes1 , allshookup...though it is my unbirthday... would you make
up one of those cakes for lil'me? psst, i'll hide it from lil'miss chocolate
lover...

Hi Everyone..
We are back.. and it was cold in DC :lmao: :lmao: .. and it snowed......My face is wind burn and peeling....we had our pedometors on since the day we left and we walk about 32 miles... :cool1: :cool1:
DD and DDH showed us the beautiful city... Cherry blossom Festival was great.. Went into the Pentagon.....unbelievable.. ...Did most of the monuments and also went to the Spy Museum.. Arlington Cemetery.. Saturday we did dinner and a show (Sheer Madness very funny) at the Kennedy Center.. had brunch there also on Easter Sunday.. Told DD we need to go back to see the smithsonian museums.. I could not believe the metro system..which we had that here in Florida. we took bus and train everywhere...:lmao: :lmao:
Told DD she had it made as her DDH can cook and clean the kitchen......:lmao: :lmao:
Did I miss anything important :yay: :yay: will need to read the updates and try to ketchup...
Isn't the Spy Museum cool! We did it last year and dd liked crawling thru the duct work! I love DC. I was a U S House of Representatives Page when I was 16. Was only there for 2 months about this time of year. I rode the only part of the Metro that had just opened in 1977. It went from Union Station to Metro Center. DD loved the Metro and the even 30 buses still go from Georgetown to Capitol Hill. We actually got to go to an organ recital at National Catheral. It was awesome. DD wants to move there, but I told her that I can't afford a $750,000 condo!
It would be great if we had a subway system up here, but that will never happen. Motor City and all!
Welcome back.

Easy...give all the incoming kids a Lysol bath! Seriously, why would they think that a kid with a fever is okay for daycare? When we were in Vegas and used the Kid's Quest facility, they absolutely DO NOT permit any sick kids! Perhaps you can just print out the relevant section of state/county code? Better yet, tell them that you're not permitted to administer meds to sick kids--that requires a licensed nurse or doctor...many counties have such rules.
i seriously am NOT allowed to take feverish kids in my daycare. i make exceptions of course...especially when the child is teething...but yesterday was absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!it was not teething...it was pure miserable sickness...and the kids were truly showing it! they were extremely pathetic! the one little boy is not usually a whiner...but the poor kid just wanted his mom and his own bed! today i talked to the dad...and he shared a bit of info about the doc's visit with me. Little did he know that i already had the inside story on the doc visit...cuz i had to take my own ds to the doc first thing this am!!! unbelievabley...he is sick!! now...the thing that gets me....yesterday, the parents told me that the kids ONLY had an ear infection. well....today, the good doc tells me it's some trachea blah blah something or other...AND IT'S HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS!!!!! ugh! hmmm...i wonder why i wasn't informed of that yesterday? maybe they were too busy! LOL!
oh and as far as meds are concerned...in ny you basically do have to be a nurse, or a doc to administer them. i refuse to take the classes for dispensing meds...way too time consuming...and too much of a liablility. i'd rather not have the hassle of it. most meds are given morning and nite anyways..so i make the parents do it before/after daycare hours.
I could rant about the people who don't stay home from WORK when they are sick. A guy down the hall from me yesterday was coughing up a lung all day.
:hippie:
i wonder if they had just dropped off their sick kid at daycare too?
Either that or give them all a nice dose of Nyquil then curl up in a chair with your own kids....
(Or dear, here comes that nice lady from child services to the door again. And to think last time she said 'I don't want to have to come here again'.)
:hippie:
i actually made a joke about that at one time at one of our child care classes...they all know i'm a jokester when it comes to stuff like that....or am i???? LMAO!! no seriously i am a jokester about that...i also love to use duct tape to keep the kids in line!
Shannon - I can soooo relate with selfish people dropping their kids off sick. I only have a problem with one of my parents. GET THIS - this year she dropped her DD off one day when she had Coxsackie Virus. She broke out in "hives" (her words, not mine) the day before and she claims the Dr told her (over the phone) it was an allergic reaction to meds. Two days later the 18 month old got coxsackie, full blown, and was sick with it for a week & 1/2. Oh, and she took her DD to the Dr that afternoon and never informed me that it was coxsackie and not an allergic reaction. THe mom of the little boy (they all work together) is the one that informed me of it, which made me look like a fool. Last week I made her come pick her DD up because she was hacking non stop for 35 minutes. Ummm, I have an infant in the house :headache: .
The thing that gets me is all my Moms are teachers and they get 15 personal days a year. But, for some reason this lady will not use them to stay home with her kids when they're sick :confused3 . I'm not the only one that has a problem with her. She loads the older ones up with motrin and sends them to school and the other all teachers know it. She just thinks everyone's stupid.
OK, off my soap box  - Is it summer yet? :rotfl:
:cake: :cake: :cake: :cake: :cake: - Sending some more cyber cake to your DD & DS
i miss my teachers kids...that is what i originally started my daycare with. i loved my summer off! now i'm dreading summers...cuz i have all my normal kids plus the 3-5 school aged that stay all day. i'm on the lookout this year for a summer rec program for them to participate in. unfortunately we don't have much in this area.
That is horrible! :( Can't you refuse them if they have a fever? Most places around here refuse to take the kids if they are sick. There are places that only take sick kids in some areas.
some of my parents just don't get the whole refusal thing! i will tell them they can't come...and next thing you know...they are walking in my front door...signing the kid in....and running out the door to work. it drives me nuts! i know they do have to work...and they know that usually i will let alot slide...but sometimes enough is enough! and i have to think of my family too.
Just a working parents point of view....
i never expect the parents to keep the kids home with the sniffles. heck...half the time i myself have the sniffles. but fever and such is another matter...especially when it's regulated by the state. this is my business and i do not intend to lose it cuz a parent can't take time off for their kids. some of my parents make me very sad cuz of this...an example...the one family is never sick...and i mean never! the kid gets the sniffles and such...but in over a year...he has never had to miss a day of care here. he is another one that was VERY sick on monday. his fever was over 100 with the ear thermom not even all the way in his ear. i didn't want to poke it all the way in cuz i could tell his ears were throbbing! the kid was awful looking. his eyes and nose just kept dripping...he was burning up...his ears and throat hurt. he should not have been here! all my parents know that mondays are the busiest days, so they knew that i was NOT gonna be able to just sit and hold their child. i felt horrible. i had other kids that we had to take care of, and this little guy who normally does not complain, just wanted to be held, and loved. i did as much as i could...but it wasn't enough. he needed his own parents! not me! times like these are when i expect the parent to step up and take care of their own. i love the kids i watch dearly and i have a mostly great relationship with their parents but there are just some things that amaze me!
My DD had the same rule -unless you have a fever or are throwing up, on the bus you go. She would play sick every day if she thought for one second she could get away with it. She does not like school at all ;) .
JMHO :hippie:
very well said!!!
:bday: Lauryn & Dylan!! Hope your Birthday's were GRRRRREAT!!!
P.S. to Todd....does you whole family share birthday's around one another?? That's Cool! :thumbsup2
P.S. to Shannon...your kids b-day are a day apart?? Also Cool!
yes they are only a day apart! when i found out i was pg and due for my youngest only a few days after his sis's bday...i was really bummed! i didn't want my dd to have to share her bday with a sibling. i had some pg related issues, with DS, and they tried to induce labor a week and a half early...but he wasn't ready! so they induced me on april 9th...thinking that it wouldn't happen again. at 10 pm...the doc told me that there was no way he would be born on the 9th...it would end up happening on the 10th...on his sis's bday...what i really didn't want! well...nick had a mind of his own...and he came only 50 mins after the doc said that!! so he was born at 10:50 pm on the 9th. Lauryn was born on april 10th at 12:35 in the am...so they were less than 2 hours away from the same bday 3yrs apart!!! now that it's been a while...i really like having them only a day apart. it works out so nicely for the family parties and such. the strangest thing is...my gma and gpa had 10 kids. of the 10....3 of them share the same exact bday!! (and no...there are no twins involved!) they just all happened to be born on april 19th.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CAPTAIN CRASH!!

Hmmm....I'm the one who is usually being blamed in my household, and even when I'm innocent, I probably deserve it for something else ;) . Of course, it's odd, because when I'm the one searching for something, I get the "Well...if you would put it back where it belongs ....blah, blah, blah."
It seems like my kids are the only ones on spring break this week...And my DW's been out of town since Sunday. Her step sister (SS) is in Cincy from Oregon this week for training and they haven't seen each other for 11 years. Working out things and all. (Cliff notes from earlier post: DW was disowned by biological dad (BD) and B***h stepmom (BSM) at age 16 because she would not "choose" only them and sever ties with her mother. DW flew to Oregon from Ohio to see SS's wedding two years ago, but was not allowed in to the wedding because BSM warned her family of a potential "wedding crasher", even though SS had extended an invitation, but caved in to BSM pressure at last minute.)
Anyway......A sort of funny thing happened today. DW still has a good relationship with her aunt and cousins on her BD's side. Evidently, DW's aunt is visiting DW's BD in Florida and just now informed them that 11 years ago, DW's SS was in our wedding:sad2: . Now, BSM does NOT know that DW is currently visiting SS, but BSM called SS today and gave her the riot act over the phone about being in our wedding 11 years ago. My DW did feel bad, she doesn't want her SS to receive more grief from her parents. It was just extremely ironic that this is the first time DW has seen her SS since our wedding 11 years ago and while hanging in their hotel room today, BSM calls to give SS the riot act about our wedding. Clear as mud..right?
So...the big spring break vacation was taking the DDs yesterday to the Cleveland Museum of Natural Sciences to see a T-Rex named Sue that's on loan from Chicago. The DDs have actually wanted to do a museum since seeing the movie "Night At the Museum". It's not huge, but a fun place to spend 3 hours or so. They had a nice Planetarium, some nice animal, dinosaur, and precious stone exhibits, including BALTO. Who knew Balto was well preserved in Cleveland? Evidently, he toured with the rest of his team after the Nome, Alaska trip, ended up being rescued from a vaudville act and resided the rest of his life in Cleveland. Just considering all the s**w Cleveland's had the last week, I bet he loved it. Oh yeah, also scouted out the Colombian Emeralds on exhibit.;)

Hi Everyone!
It's nearly 9 pm here in San Diego - we are all tired after hiking around the San Diego Zoo today & swimming this evening in our hotel pool (jacuzzi for me).
For those who are thinkng about including a side trip to San Diego while in So. CA prior to the TOAL - it is a 2-3 hour drive from Anaheim (DL) (depending on traffic) and the S.D. Zoo is HUGE. We went for 2 days and still didn't see all of it. (albeit, the 6 yr.old got really tired w/all the walking)
However, if you've got the time - it is AWESOME!!
We are going to the Wild Animal Park tomorrow on our way back north to L.A.
I've never been there -I am really looking forward to it.
Will report back tomorrow------ Chris
P.S. - I trump everyone age-wise. I am the Matriarch!!!!! Full Age Disclosure TBA!! Just remember I also roller blade on the strand in L.A. !!!
Cheers!! Chris

Yeah...SS could come to our wedding 11 years ago because she was in college and BSM was none the wiser (Until aunt just told her). SS's wedding was two years ago in Oregon. DW flew 4,000+ miles roundtrip. SS was sure BSM would notice DW as a guest and felt pressured to be honest up front, so she told BSM that DW was coming, then BSM proclaimed to her family that there was a "wedding crasher" around. The Oregon wedding was outside, so DW could see from a distance, but definately stayed away from confrontation on her SS's wedding day. My DW used to resent the whole banishment, but she now thinks she was the lucky one after seeing the damage and therapy SS has had to go through. There's reason that SS is in Oregon now when BSM is in Florida.

Family dinamics can at times be so distructive. When my Dad passed away - the daughter of his 2nd wife - ( now she wasn't his step-daughter as they married when all children from each side were all adults/w/families ) - fought in court for 10 years to get a share of a property that my Dad held in trust for an elderly retarded cousin. It was so ugly. The saddest result was that her children and my children became alienated due to her greed. She lost her case and her children lost also.

Guess what?? She does OWN the company.....well she's the owner's wife. We didn't speak today....which was a welcomed relief. I appreciate how everyone here had my back last night. My co-workers were equally supportive today. Not a person in the world wants to be called the F word (Fat this is) :thumbsup2
Well...
... if she's the spouses' owner... being impolite with folks working for and with her family is an unwise thing if you ask me. No matter how much money one may or may not have - I have seen folks with a billion plus (the CEO of one of the companies I distribute for) lose nearly everything to be left with a few dozen million. I saw his spouse gamble about $100-130,000 a hand in Vegas when we were gathered for a business meeting once. Now - I doubt she would wager that sort of money carelessly. AND... I have had counterparts who used to earn $500-1,000,000+ a year ... and I've seen a bad turn of luck more or less wipe them out. SO - I don't take anything for granted - nor do I look upon good fortune as an excuse for engaging in fiscal excess or flights of fancy. Besides - I am cozy doing as I have for decades - which is why I am cozy sailing in a cat 9 window. NOT that "I" am worth a billion dollars or raking in a million a year (+ defferred income in the millions as my counterpart had).
http://www.wingtv.net/issue4/karsten3.jpg
So.... I think a well placed letter of referral to the tax man might be in order on the mean spouses' business - it being tax time for most folks. And if anything were to turn up - potentially the referring party could get a finders' fee for recovereed taxes. They have a secret means of wistle blowing and recovery payoffs ... :confused3 Seriously, that is not very nice (what she did) and one good turn might tiger another.
You know... I once knew of someone elses' tax dodge which amounted to perhaps $50,000-60,000 or more of improper deductions annually... and I could have turned them in for several years worth of back tax recovery - and in turn earn a "finders' fee" from the government... but I did not do it.
Oh well...

DH is also, um, helpful, sorta. He's a triathlete. He even ran a 1/2 Ironman, commonly referred to as "aluminum foil guy" in our house (1.25 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13 mile run).
I'm signed up for a mear 500 yard swim, 10 mile bike, 4.1 mile rum...I mean RUN!
The things I do for t-****s! Someday I'll have to make a list to leave as a legacy for my kids.

The contestants in that contest came to Talkeetna in the dead of winter, donned borrowed winter survival gear and competed for the title. The only requirement was that they be unmarried at the time. They had to hitch up a sled dog team, shoot a bow and arrow, crawl through a culvert, haul water, drive a snowmachine, clomp around in bunny boots and snowshoes, and make a sandwich for the reclining bachelor. "Humph!", thought the hard working moms in Talkeetna! We have to do all those chores and all we get is chapped hands! We need some respect. (Talkeetna women get LOTS of respect, but they wanted recognition – and maybe a trip to Europe).
So the Mountain Mother Contest was conceived. The only requirement was that the contestant be a mom – married or not. Well... O'BWV, believe it or not I've had lots of low key birthdays pass recently. I really sort of miss the grand celebrations somewhat so - in a way I am sort of used to it. AND ... I DO appreciate your simply mentioning well wishes. Thank you kindly!
aaahhh Tom....sorry we missed your Birthday.......:bday: Pal!
Thanks a bunch Lorri!
Andy, you always have such great birthday greetings that I'm pirating this one tonight.

Tom, you didn't send me any of your family's birthdays. Glad to hear that it was a good one. :goodvibes :wizard:

Since it's so small, the button says:
Happy Birthday, Tom!
I know it must be startling to realize how common
your name must be for this button to have been
produced, but just think how much more disconcerting
it would be if it also mentioned your brown hair and
your concern about losing it, your great athletic
potential, your subtle sense of humor, and your
intense drive to succeed.
Enjoy your chocolate cake!

... I didn't get a chance to thank you properly with my spouse badgering me to get packed to hit the road earlier today. But I wanted to say ... "but OF COURSE I'm a Star Wars fan!" I even have a full Anakin costume with an elaborate quality to it! Plus I got my spouse one of those Padame costumes too to match me! You know... the Padame with the midrift torn off by the monster in the arena! (image at bottom) So... the R2D2 cake was a real treat! Thanks again!
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TOM!!!

Happy belated birthday someday maybe.
Your race looks way too long for me! Even 20 years ago. When I was a mear..oh nevermind.
DH once ran something called the Mojave Death Race. 250 mile relay through the desert. In June. I was pregnant and spent 2 days in the hotel pool and trying to win a Mustang on the slot machines. He was running and sweating and such. DidI mention the buffets?
Unspoken family contest: he who dies with the most t-****s wins.

From http://www.talkeetnachamber.org/event-mountainmother.html
The Mountain Mother Contest in Talkeetna glorifies the spirit and strength of the Alaskan Woman. About 10 years ago, the women of Talkeetna rebelled against the Wilderness Woman Contest. That night, they would get all decked out and go bid on the eligible bachelors at the Bachelors' Auction. The Wilderness Woman winner would get a fur hat, a plaque, and sometimes a trip to Europe.
And it would be in the summer, when the kids could watch how hard their moms worked. And it would be more realistic. So the feats are (done with a "baby" in a pack on their backs): walk a log in hip waders, carrying 2 buckets of water; "shoot" a balloon moose with a bow and arrow, "catch" a fish, chop up firewood, change the baby and wash out the diaper, make a "pie" and call the kids in. Winner got some useful things, like an appointment at the local beauty shop for a hair cut, manicure and massage; a nice dinner out; gift certificates from the local shops. And a nice warm jacket with "Mountain MAMA!" on the back.

Thanks fwe the B-day wishes. I DO appreciate your congratualtory thoughts! And on the winner having the most T-shirts.... well... I got a long way to go before I can compete with ANYONE on that front. The last bike race I was in was a fund raiser for MS - a 200 mile bike ride from Orange County to San Diego. I got HIT by a car at the 87 mile point and broke my left hip and right wrist. Plus a $$$+ bike was wrecked! I don't regret riding to raise money to help others - I DO have regrets at being hit by someone who had been in an accident only 60 days earlier - and had no insurance. Fortunately, I had a little uninsured motorist coverage which paid me a maximum claim - which was enough to cover my medical bills and leave some consulaton funds for my lost time.
Now that I've been in a situation like this - with an uninsured motorist hitting me - I have the cynical attitude that most bad drivers are uninsured - and now I pay a slight premium for an insurance company which offers a multi-million umbrella which EXTENDS to the uninsured motorist component of my policy. So IF an uninsured motorist hits me I can claim up to 2 million... ehich I do indeed hope I CANNOT! If ya get my drift....
So... on your race and while training for it - ride very carefully and defensively!
http://www.citynoise.org/upload/1110.jpg
I got 2 kids sleeping with me now. One is on my lap while the other is rolled up tight against me. My spouse is not ready to settle down yet so I'm just sitting here tapping away on her keyboard!:surfweb:

I finally looked in the drawer where I keep my camera chargers and such. TA DA! There it was. Who'd a thunk it? :confused3

Guess I should post that I am going groundhog hunting. Took me over an hour and a half to do what is usually a 40 minute drive due to the wet snow / slush mix and the IDIOTS on the roads this morning. I counted four accidents on I-355, all of which I am sure were caused by one moron driving way too slow and another driving way too fast. (Like the dip I got behind going 20 with his blinkers on in a 45 zone near my house, causing a backup as everyone tried to get around him. At that speed, you are never going to get to work anyway, so why bother?)
Anyway, end of rant. I am going to head out to PA this weekend, find Phil and stew him. Early Spring, my left....foot.

Must be something going around the DIS again. My DD5 was complaining about being sick last night and was really warm. We knew she wasn't faking it when she skipped dinner and didn't want any brownies. So Mommy is going to work from home today (an excuse to stay out of the weather).

My deskmate had to rush home to Daytona Beach to get her DD. She had some virus and she needed to get her home. Poor thing, the weather was awful here and driving back and forth, we were worried with the rain and all.
Mark! soon we will be very warm here and I do not look forward to it, so I will take the 70's for a while:goodvibes

We get mildly active calls from school/pre-school when one of the kids has a temp or throws up. I run right in to pick up as I wouldn't want to spred any developing illness to others. Today the little one obviously will not go in as she has a temperature. In fact, I'll be running her to her doc for a visit this morning or afternoon.

It has been killing me hearing stories of people traveling for spring break, had the travel bug pretty bad the last couple of weeks. Problem is DW and I work opposite shifts (to take care of the kids) so we don't get many days off together. Yesterday DW got "Called Off" not enough babies for her to take care of, so :cool1: off to Santa Barbara we went. About an hour up the coast from here with a beautiful drive along the ocean. Had lunch at our favorite place, Brophy Bros which is located on the harbor overlooking all of the boats. This place makes us feel like we have traveled to somewhere far away but only 1 hour away. Afterward the kids got to play on the beach. Weather was beautiful as well high 60's.

To any in Socal who are live stage enthusiasts... we tried the "Wicked Deal" and here are the details ...
A variable number of front row tickets go on sale lottery style 2 hours before the performance. Entries for this lottery begin 2.5 hours before the show everyday. Tix normally are about $95 or so and these "WICKED DEAL" tix will be sold at $25 cash each. Winners may purchase one or two tix... and indicate so on thier lottery entries.
... on the day we tried to get them they announced 26 tix were available. The day before they had 130 people in the lottery and they suggested about 100 would go for these 27 tix they had. Everyone had to wrte their names on a ticket stub and be on hand to claim their prize and pay in cash if their name was drawn. Anyone entering had to be present and my 6 year old got to enter as well provided she personally write her name on the entry stub. We did not win - and one couple won twice... they were gonna hurry up and invite another couple to join them... it was not us though (RATS!). <chuckles>
At any rate, we're gonna try again and again as time permits. We have to mix it with other activities in the area as the likelihood of winning is not really high - and we must have a useful objective to justify the visit into the area.

Drinking improves brain capacity.
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.

Your DW is probably right. My sister is so screwed up from living close to the parents and she can't keep them out of her life.

That is just SICK!!! :sad2:

I absolutely HATE getting stuck behind someone who is numerically illiterate!!! When we first moved here I had to travel 40 minutes along a 2 lane road to work. Double yellow lines most of the way. At 7 am there shouldn't be anyone on the road who doesn't have anywhere to go. They should stay off the road until people have had the chance to get to work.
