Nope, not too late at all. I still have supplies for crepes & more fresh strawberries. (The kids had a big "eat 5-9 fruits & veggies a day" lecture at school this week, so I'm stocked up on the produce at the moment.)

Thanks, be right over

Sorry there is so much stress in your life  Just keep thinking......
TRIP OF A LIFETIME
I have been saying that soooo many times already that I think I am wearing it out.:)

:grouphug: Best of luck to you. I pray it all works out as it should.
Thanks Monica ! I am starting to feel a little better already. Brooke just caught me on computer and says thought you were cleaning out your closet? Can't let her do all the work by herself. Gotta run !

Okay Tina it looks like your still on for our TOAL! YAY!! Still I'm sorry for your stress.....how is Brooke handling it? And your DS too? :grouphug:
Brooke is THRILLED, CAN'T WAIT ect. ect. More complicated with DS. He are looking for him to stay with his father. We will see what happens in court. The apartment does have 3 bedrooms.

The six month rule is a good one and one that I often use. As far as yard sales, get together with your neighbors and see if you can organize some sort of a block sale. We did two of them with 12 other families on the block. We split the cost of a newspaper ad and put signs up. It worked out really well. I was blown away by what some people will buy. In some cases we ended up buying each other stuff. Yea, I know, defeats the purpose. But I got the cutiest little table for $7.

Hang in there.

We have a subdivision garage sale every year. Usually the first week in June. If I can hold off that long, that's an idea.

Consider it done!!!!!! Hazel is INDEED a pip, like one you have probably never seen before, right MR????????

Hazel wore the white gown last night to dinner that she wore to Formal Night on our last cruise. The ladies were calling her Sexy Mama all night. Of course Angelina and I got a kick out of that when she called and told us.

hmmm Andy, I was just telling everyone in Chat Friday night what a HOOT Hazel is! And although she hadn't posted once, she was the most friendly, outgoing person in our group. You would think she was posting for years and treated each and everyone of us as if she'd known us for years. She is a lot of fun and that's why I'm always wanting her to post........she'd probably love it!!!

The family we are hooking up with for DL has a parent who appears to be metastatic with cancer. She already had a kidney removed last year to try and forestall the spread - but the signs are emerging now that last years surgery was not in time to save her. The weeks and months to come will conclusively confirm the spread and stage 4 condition - as she just confided with us last week that they found spots on her last scan. Sad... as they have a 1.75 year old boy and no other family locally. They are the nicest folks too.... and of our age (low 40s).

So sad CC. I had a cousin die a while back 41 ovarian cancer.:grouphug:

I hit 1000!
:woohoo: GO GIRL!!! :woohoo:

We took my parents and DH's parents on a cruise in Jan. 2005. We were celebrating both grandpa's 60th birthdays. Our reasoning for spending so much money for the whole trip (11 of us) was that we have 5 kids and we really were so grateful to them for helping us so much over the years. Plus, my husband's parents hadn't been on a real vacation for at least 20 years, and being newly retired, we hoped to inspire them to take more trips!

Well, we had a BLAST and we really didn't know what we were getting into with my in-laws. The next year they took my newly wed sister in law and her new husband on the Disney Cruise. Then they booked another cruise on the ship to go with my DSIL again AND my husband's aunt and cousin (who had never been out of Wisconsin before!). So, when we heard that they were all going, we called our trusty TA and she got us 2 rooms right down the hall from them. She linked our dining and everything! They had NO idea we were going! Our oldest DS turned 15 the day before we left and when DMIL called him, we were at EPCOT and she was at the hotel in Port Canaveral and she still had no idea.

Then she called us when we were on the ship!!!! We had just got to our cabin without being seen by any of the other family members. We were laughing sooooooooooo hard!

We had a hard time deciding when we should reveal ourselves because we didn't think we could make it all the way to dinner without being seen, so we decided to just knock on their door about 15 minutes before the safety drill started. We went to DSIL first and she was ssssssooooooooo happy, we have never traveled with them before as they are still newlyweds (about 2 years now) and have no kids. Then we all went to Grandma and Grandpas room and knocked. The look on her face was priceless. She cried for about 20 minutes! What a fun memory for all of us!!!!

Poohmom :hippie:
What an AWESOME story!:)

Good Morning Everyone :wave2:
There will be no way I can ketchup. I feel guilty. Now I have a confession to make.............I can't deny this any longer because it is becoming a reality but boy can life be tough sometimes.

My DH just signed a lease yesterday for a apartment in Chicago. I am going to try and move to Chicago by the beginning of summer. I have been in this house for 16 years and so much clutter to go through and hurry up to get this house ready to sell, court with ex will not be fun. DD starting high school alot needs to be done there. My DD has been in the same school district her whole life.

One of the reasons I had posed the question about taking kids out of school a million pages ago was for this reason. Brooke will miss the first 5 days of school. We have made the decision that the cruise was booked first and well the experience and family can't replace that.

This decision has not come lightly and I can't tell you how many times we changed our minds in the process. Thanks for reading this. Letting others know can only help me 1. to do the things I need to because most of it is on me.

Oh Tina, you have a lot on your plate right now.
In KY they have parent enrichment days (not the right term) but they are excued absences for travel, we have to get permission from school principal to use them. DS HS principal will not approve for anyone. Maybe the schools in Chicago have something similar.

Thought I would share some pics fom the GC from a couple of years ago. We took a plane ride from Henderson airport and saw hoover dam and such. We landed on the west rim where we took a short bus ride. Last pic shows where people were standing. It's also where we had a homemade lunch with some Indians. It was really scary that there were no guard rails or such.:scared1: It is an amazing experience !!

You can tell your mind is on cruising too much when some says "pics from GC" and you think -- there's a Hoover Dam in Grand Cayman?

We have late seating, we always have, even with the kids. DH works until 7 pm most nights, so we're used to having dinner late.
As for the cruises, we like the extra time late seating gives us to be out on excursions and still get back and get ready for dinner.
As long as we don't linger over dinner for too long, we still get to the clubs in time for the fun...when they are playing a game or whatever...and usually call it a night by midnight.
I've also often wondered if the early seating feels rushed to be done and out the door so that the servers can get ready for the next round?
We've never felt pressured if we were in the midst of a good conversation and a cup of coffee or after dinner wine.

We're right with you. We did early seating for the first time in December and I hated having to go run back to the room at 4:30 or 5PM to get ready for dinner. We never felt rushed by the servers at early dining, but I know what you mean.

I also liked doing the shows before dinner. After dinner, I just want to go walk around the deck or get a drink, not go queue up for a show.

That is awful about your DS's medication.

Even worse, the pharmacy would not re-ship it b/c it is a controlled substance. We had to get our doctor to write a new prescription which we filled locally. Luckily, he did so.

regretfully, thiss seems to be the case. If so then this is our first case of it in over 15 years!:confused3

Seems kind of sad to think anyone could THINK they'd get away with pinching enough random parcels to make the risk worth it? (is it ever worth it?) Or maybe it's just a mismatch of personal capabilities to the job with a new driver? My sister in laws' brother - who lives near by is a regional supervisor for UPS. When-ever I've had occasion to meet a UPS driver I've always casually mentioned this fact .... "I'm family with management".... not meaning to threaten anyone - just that we DO get a LOT of UPS and FedEX deliveries. And with UPS at least we would like normal and customary service. I just might mention this instance to my SILs' brother come monday. I'm out of town fer most of today as we're planning on meeting another family to hit Disneyland. Then off to a birthday gathering for the spouse of one of my oldest and best friends... conveniently half way between us and DL.

At any rate, back to my search for my 7 question posting which I posed for this weekend...

Adding my prayers for your friend too, Tom.

I highly doubt there's much use for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy with this crowd. Though it would explain why John has this thing with stealing towels on deck 9.

(Let's see how many get that reference! :lmao: Where's Andrew when you need him???)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has a few things to say on the subject of towels. A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value—you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you—daft as a brush, but very, very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough. More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag [non-hitch hiker] discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitchhiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitchhiker might accidentally have 'lost'. What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with." (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Chapter Three)"

And I thought I was the towel-stealer on this cruise?

Tina- I am hopefully seeing the light at the end of this very tunnel. My Mom had decided to sell her house after being in it for close to 29 years. It's taken almost a year to clear out 29 years of stuff. It was amazing what was buried in the basement. We've had several yard sales, made donations and just simply chucked. (We also played junk relocation with my Sister who lives in FL.) Having been the voice of reason in this and forcing my Mom clear out the clutter, be open and willing to let stuff go. Don't keep it because your kids may want it someday. In most cases we don't.

GoodLuck.:grouphug:

Oh, how I wish someone had given my mom this message. When she died and my brother and I went to clear out the house, if she could have seen all of the 'treasures' he and I gave away or threw out to the trash.

Another word of advice -- label your pictures. We found boxes and boxes of old pictures. I assume they are family members, but I never knew these people and there are no names on them. We did find one of a kid that said "Drew - 1976". I don't know anyone named Drew. Maybe it was a brother of mine they sold at auction.

I have to go every month to get the written script for DS's Concerta. I still don't understand why they can't just date a couple for different months. I find it irratating.

Ah, so you know the drill well. Concerta is the drug in question here too.

Orange Stinger
About 50 swings located inside that are raised about 10 feet off the floor and you are spun around in a circle while bee's are buzzing over the load speakers. Fun ride.

I would definately need the barf bucket if I was to ride this!

I think so. SWMBO did that in December. Decided she doesn't like regular martinis, just the apple and chocolate ones.

They used to show it on BBC America. Never watched it, but would see the commercials for it.

It started in 1986, still the BBC's top rated programme, ( after Doctor Who), I understand some people in USA asked for subtitles ( closed captions) as they couldnt understand the East End cockney words!

I'm not a regular Budget Boarder, so my apologies if this was posted already. I skimmed the first and second page and didn't see it. I get regular emails from JoAnn and got all excited when I saw Disney!!

[Judy] It's coooold out there every day. What do you think this is, Castaway Cay?
[J. R.] There's another reason why today is especially exciting.
[Judy] Especially cold!
[J. R.] Yes, especially cold, okay, but the big question on everybody's lips
[Judy] On their chapped lips
[J. R.] Right, on their chapped lips. Do you think anyone is going to talk about these topics today?

Did anyone get a room assignment from DCL today?
Lisa, did we tell you we really miss the website?
Cake. Yum, cake. With frosting. And whipped cream?
What size crocs should I buy? Are they comfortable? Boy, are they ugly.
blah, blah, blah N.R. (with swords)
Where are we going to be able to buy our lime green DIS T-****s for the cruise, Captain
The Tag Fairy doesn't like me. She likes me. I got tagged! It's like Christmas in February!
