Here are my answers...
1) don't know yet... but I'm thinking Costco for a steak or maybe stuffed salmon.
2) Groceries last nite... technically as I recall the last thing was a tube of pilsbury choclate chip cookie dough... alternatively, the other "last thing" bought was some 3d terrain game boards
3) Last nite I told my spouse how nice it was to just hold hands with her.
4) Just got a desktop computer to replace the one that started smoking.
5) Nawww... havn't sent it off yet.
6) Anything we can relax with our kids doing.... which as of late was simply lounging on the beach and making sand castles, and splashing in the warm surf. That counts as an excursion for us.
7) I'm pretty simple.... I love the Crem Bruel'e dishes!

Hey that was a really nice thing for you guys to do. We got a Best Buy Code from Ebay for MSG and a Fan Club Code for Giants Stadium. We bought the MSG not knowing they were coming to GS. I'd much rather tailgate and sit under the stars at GS than MSG anyday, so we might sell the MSG tix. Not sure right now. BTW the MSG tix were MUCH more $$$ than the GS tix, another reason for selling the MSG ones. Does your brother know you bought him the tixs?? Again, that was a really nice thing to do!

While on the Disney Magic one cruise I was enjoying pre dinner cocktails with BLI Jack (aka Fincantieri). We had Cat. 4's with balconies non conecting. I was with my 2 year old daughter in the room at the time. DW was with older DD at the movies. We were passing drinks over the bacony to one another our balcony doors were open. I ran out into the hallway to speak to our Host and the draft pulled the door out of my hands shut. My 2 year old DD was locked in the room. Host had vanished. So I knocked on Jacks door and told him that DD was locked inside my stateroom and my key was locked in the room also. So I ran to his balcony and proceeded to climb over his balcony onto mine in my intoxicated state the boat was cruising at @ 20mph. Jack being less insane grabbed me and pulled me back onto his balcony. Just then Jacks DW came in. We told her what happened and she found a Hostess who opened our stateroom door. DD was safe inside as if nothing happened.

Also, I might be Ebaying too much!!!
But listen to this deal. I am particular about my makeup, being old and having roseacea and all. So I go to the Lancome counter, use all the testers, make note of all the names and then Ebay them. I love Lancome waterproof eyeliner, but at $21 a pop is too rich for my blood. :scared1: I just ebayed 6 Lancome eyeliners for $30 plus shipping. So for around $35 I got more than a year's supply!!

Since his BD is in May and the concert is in August, we're going to give them to him as a gift. I saw Springsteen at GS, and it was a really nice evening (I also saw him back when the arena was called the Brendan Byrne Arena, but that does date me...!).
I wasn't able to get a code for MSG, so I guess I was lucky that they they opened the other concert up. Bet you could get a lot of money for the tickets now that the concert is sold out!

Okay, so poor DH, just my friend then, is a shy, reserved kinda guy (you know we have the opposites attract thing going here). Well it was June 1978 and we were having a big Beach Graduation Party at Riis Park. Myself having a very strict DM was not allowed to attend. Ultimately thank goodness I didn't go. All the necessary shanigans went on at a HS graduation party. Back in the day, we could legally drink at 18 and so ALOT of drinking went on. While making their wobbly way from the beach back to their cars my DH and three friends travelled a good distance down the boardwalk. Just as they we about to make the turn off the boardwalk DH friend taps him on the shoulder and says John look. My DH turns around and his friend had thrown a match in every trash can along the boardwalk. DH said it looked like bonfire all up and down the Boardwalk. Well of course the Feds (beach was a Federal park) wer there within seconds. Off the the police station the four of them go. Well guess what? DH was the only one who was 18. In those days under 18 was considered a minor, so the others, including the firestarter was released and DH was processed. Now the charges were dropped and nothing ever happened to DH, but to this day, he lists his 1978 Federal arrest on every job application because it just might come up in a background check.
I tell ya............Friends get ya into more trouble LOL !!!!!! Another innocent victim !!!!

I guess I'm right there with you. I was sort of a goody two shoes growing up, although under the surface I was just itching to run away with a rock band. I almost got on a bus with the Red Hot Chili Peppers once upon a time, but I'll save that story for another time.
My Mom and Dad were the most wonderful people and parents. They had been married 56 years when my Mom died 5 years ago. My Dad died a couple of years later. He just wasn't complete without her. I still miss them terribly. We were very close.
I had a few minor teen rebellious moments like trying cigarettes (yuck), but I pretty much stayed out of trouble. Met my DH when I was 18 and got married two days before my 20th birthday and we have made a wonderful life together.

OK, Judy wins the Sandra Dee Award!
I still love those long haired rockers though! :hippie:
Eww Mary I loveeee the Chili Peppers....must hear that story!! I really like when they paint themselves GOLD.........

While touring the old ships in San Francisco, we found out why the bathrooms are called the Head.
There were one or two holes in the bow of the ship that emptied into the sea. Way up in the "head" of the ship, that's where they did their "business". Right out there in the open, in front of god and everyone!

Or they swung you out over the side of the ship...........would make the Balconey rooms more interesting dont ya think ???? :lmao:

I have no idea why, but this suddenly caused "The Battle of New Orleans" to pop into my head :confused3 :)
Henry the VIII to Battle of New Orleans. Now that is random.
While we're at random association - your song reminded me The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (at least it is a nautical story-song)
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy.
With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early
The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconson
As the big freighters go it was bigger than most
With a crew and the Captain well seasoned.
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ships bell rang
Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling.
The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the Captain did, too,
T'was the witch of November come stealing.
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashing
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane West Wind
When supper time came the old cook came on deck
Saying fellows it's too rough to feed ya
At 7PM a main hatchway caved in
He said fellas it's been good to know ya.
The Captain wired in he had water coming in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the words turn the minutes to hours
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd fifteen more miles behind her.
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters.
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the ruins of her ice water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams,
The islands and bays are for sportsmen.
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered.
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral
The church bell chimed, 'til it rang 29 times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they say, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

Another unusual story revealed

I will reveal a story I think even my wife doesn't know:
While in Vienna Austria visiting friends we were having a good time with food and drink. My friends dared me and a friend to dress up as women and take a walk through a naughty section of town. To make a long story short we were arrested and taken to the Police Station and questioned. After we explained our acts the Policemen in the station wanted to take pictures with us.
I guess it had to be the large jewel encrusted butterfly I had pinned to my sweater. I think I have a picture somewhere in the attic. Must dig it out.
This was the only time I was arrested.
Ok, now the love for show tunes starts to make sense.

I'm addicted the other way - it's a good source of quick cash, but you have to have something that they are buying.
We actually do a little of BOTH ~ I have 600 transactions split between 2 IDs. And I must say that as of late I have LOST some of my interest in eBay in some ways. I have grown leary of folks using alternate identities to pump up their auctions. Granted - I may still get an item at a price I'll tolerate... but it still rubs me the wrong way.
Ergo... I am cautious of certain situations on account of these recent experiences: 1) I bought a camera zom lens - got a fair price - it arrived slightly slow (which is typical) and it was damaged/defective in several ways. The seller had good feedback, oferred a unconditional refund within 7 days and the description/photos looked decent. HOWEVER... when I PM'd him about invoking the refund option he declared no refund was available on account of 1) I didn't buy insurance and 7 days had passed. I pointed out 1) insurance was not required or stated as a condition in the listing, and 2md) he shipped 6 days after the auction and I WAS requesting within 7 days of his shipment date. And to please confirm my request for a refund with term before I returned the lense.
He went on to be mildly abusive in language - and I cautioned him to honor his terms or I would immediately revert to SOP with Paypal and eBay. Needless to say - I filed a complaint with paypal - they froze the funds in his account - I verified the damage with a repair estimate from a professional repair shop - and on returning the lense to the seller they promptly refunded my money. So what is my "problem"?
While the seller complained and spouted written filth I taunted them on their contradictions and illogical statements. In the process - right after I got my money back I started looking closer at the listing to uncover more contradictions and that's when I discovered that one of the competitive bidders used a screen identity which spelled out the sellers' last name and first initial. How dumb could the seller have been to counterbid with his own NAME in the screen ID? I cross checked and he even registered it in his own home town. I turned him in to ebay for investigation and waited a couple days before taunting him with my suspicians on the alternate ID. Immediately his tone changed... and he became ... calm and asked ME to leave HIM alone. He also changed the screen ID immedietely ... but then if you click on the ID history - you can see the old ID as permanently listed... and when it changed. GUILTY! At that point I noticed that eBay suspended all of his for sale listings and his alter ID with the new name was permanently closed. <loud cacklig>.
THEN ... on looking at all of his old listings I uncovered a pattern of 3 alter IDs used to criss cross and bid on all of his auctions. Ocassionally they would be listed as having CANCELED their last bids.... when they accidently pushed too far I guess. And I turned them all in to ebay security. Ebay did nothing with the other two I uncovered. HOWever... I continued to stalk this dishonest seller. I noticed he began to sell air soft tot guns that were realistic replicas of assault weapons. He had toys without the usual bright orange tip to signify they were toys and not real. A "toy" like that could easily be used for a crime - or get a youngster shot by a police officer. How stupid and irresponsible can you get?
I turned these auctions into ebay as TOS violations... and they pulled them down. Only to see them relisted with no changes other then a electronicly doctored image adding the orange tip! Again,,,,, how irresponsible can one get! SO I again turned him in - and they were pulled down. I also noticed he was using the same fake IDs to bid against himself and cheat honest ebayers. I sent messages to the bidders warning them they were being cheated and I expained how they could uncover the truth with their own eyes. Some replied thanking me - one was angry (it might have been a friend of the seller faking bids to push the price north)... as who in their right mind would refuse a tactful and diplomatic warning against being cheated?
Eventually this ID along with all his other IDs were suspended.
SO - what is my problem? Ebay recently enacted a policy that when any auction exceeds $100 the IDs of all bidders becomes SECRET. Only the seller can see them accurately. Plus - the winning bidder never can see who competed against him/her. This is the perfect environment to invite cheats to simply have a 2nd ID and puch the bidding north til the high bidder has exhausted their limit.
Also, i have noticed a significant number of stolen accounts being used to fabricate fake listings. I even created a fake 3rd ID called NET4FRAUD which I use to tag these bad lisitings and I turn them in to ebay security for investigation. COmmon to these stolen accounts.... they use the most expensive listing features ... like the $25 blue boxing which also pops them to the top of all searches in the catagory. AND... they all state to email them on this private email account for a better "buy it now" deal off ebay. AND when you email them on the side they say... "OH, we're in the Neatherlands, Nigeria or Romania and will sell you this (eg) $7,000 digital camera for $2000 if you will WIRE them the funds ASAP. They have a variety of explanations but the common thread is they want money wired to them.
COnsider.... how did they GET the access info from the real owners of these accounts? Well.... typically they PISH them! They send an faked email that looks like official EBAY or PAYPAL stuff asking you to verify your identity or your account will close or something crazy like that. If you click the link then you MIGHT load a trojan or data miner on your system... but more commonly they take you to a page with a great looking official appearing page. It asks for all your personal ID including CC #s, IDs, passwords, email addresses, etc.. Yeah.... they got-cha! I had one friend a lonjg time ago who had their identity stolen by just such a pish.
ANd to top this off... ONCE when I was examining a stolen listing I examined their whole routine out of curiousity - then I informed them I was turning them into eBay security and to head for the hills. Oddly enough I received an email on the "security" email address looking like it came from ebay security THANKING me for turning in the stolen account. THAT WAS A PISH! The email asked me to confirm my identity for ebay security... how creative and bold, eh? Vicdictive Bast*@%ds! Recently Inoticed that ALLstolen account activity ended in the catagories I used to frequent. I was a habitual troller for expensive camera lenses ... I don't wanna spend top dollar for the best camera lenses and typically have poached most of my lenses for less then half or 1/3rd of their regular cost. And if I am unhappy with the lens - and not because its' damageed - I have resold the lense for slightly MORE then what I have paid - every time.
Thus... I have lost all interest in buying anything with a value greater then $100. I still sell things... and as of late I've sold things for friends... like Laker tickets for $550. However, I have lost a lot of interest in buying really anything. I trust places like Sharper Image on ebay - as I recently bought a pair of binoculars from them. But I am cautious.

Hey I just thought of something! Tailgating at Giants Stadium = a cordless blender opportunity!!!
Yes, I'm cheap.........but also I'm saving for The Trip of A Lifetime!!!!

Okay so it must have been about 9 year ago now and we still lived in Staten Island...............It was Mother's Day and I asked my DH for a Coach Wallet. I bid on and won one on Ebay for around $75. It came from a nice woman in Long Island and I was very thrilled with it. Fast forward to two week later and the Nassau County Police in Long Island called and told me I've bid on a counterfeit Coach wallet. Well for $75 I wasn't really surprised so what the heck. The Poicemen then said they need to break up the counterfeiting ring and they were going to confiscate my wallet. They also wanted me to testify if and when they were brought to trial. Well listen, my Mama didn't raise no fool. There wasn't a chance in Heck that this schlepy housewife from Staten Island was gonna testify against a COUNTERFEITING RING that close to where she lives. I told that Policeman that exact thing and that I'd be willing give him my fake wallet though. He was at my house within the hour and off went my wallet. I got a lot of pressure from other Ebayers encouraging me to testify, but heck no, they did not live in the counterfeiters backyard!!! I also had the nerve to ask the counterfeiter on Ebay for a refund because the wallet was fake and that I would mail it back to her. She DID refund my money, but I couldn't return the wallet I didn't have. Years passed without me giving it another thought. Well lo and behold THREE years later the Policeman called me, said they broke up the ring and that he was returning my wallet. And he did!!! Did I happen to mention I LOVE EBAY!!!

But the truth is I couldn't add to their case. I thought I was buying a real Coach, but when I confronted the seller with the fake accusation she gave me a full refund. What kind of witness would I have made saying that? I'm glad they were able to break up the ring however and I probably should have helped. But this is NY afterall and I was afraid of the counterfeiting ring.

This is one of the books that I have enjoyed. It is what made me realize that I didn't have the tools that I needed to be a good mother due to my childhood and needed to make a conscious effort to gain them. http://www.epinions.com/She_s_Gonna_Blow_by_Julie_Ann_Barnhill/_redir_att__~1
My younger sister lives near them and has never been able to get out from under their control. She was the perfect child who never did any wrong and went from living in their house to getting married & them "renting" her DH's dad's condo. :sad2: It's sad really how completely opposite the two of us are. She had PPD after her first child and again after the 2nd...but she never recovered and they took advantage of that. She now has Bipolar Disease & has been anerexic, and her DD is ADHD. I found that I have to seperate myself from her. I get an email from her a few times a year. I had to face that she has a mental illness and I can't "fix" her. I did have to tell her that I had to stop being her therapist because it was tearing me apart & taking me away from my family...the 4 of us here. I also told her that I can't have any part of her dealings with our birth parents anymore. She knows what they are going to do every time and she keeps letting them into her life again. I could never forgive some of the things that they have done to her & her kids...but that is her life & choice. One thing that I learned from her is that the favorite child doesn't necessarily have the "perfect" life. She grew up feeling guilty that I was the one being abused.
:grouphug: Lisa!!! I'm glad you distanced yourself from a toxic relationship. I have also learned to do the same. Thanks for the link to the book! :thumbsup2

Nah Paula, not exciting, I've just had some crazy things happen to me along the way. Like my DH worked in the World Trade Center in 2 WTC, during the time of the first bombing. The only reason he wasn't there that day was because me and our brand new baby son were coming home from the hospital. As a matter of fact, that bombing occurred exactly 14 years ago tomorrow! I also worked in 1 WTC on the 89th Floor, but it was in the earlier 1990's and I had terrible premonitions (well intution really) that something terrible was going to happen. When the towers were bombed in 1993 I thought that was the terrible event. Boy was I ever wrong. :sad1:

Never arrested but here is a story DH doesn't know...
When I was 19 my friend and I were busted for buying the other tobacco. I was never so scared in my life - we made the purchase and had driven about three or four blocks (I was driving) and were at a stop light when it seemed like every detective in Queens was surrounding my car with spotlights trained on the car. They ripped my car door open and pulled me out (wasn't wearing a seatbelt) and asked me where the stuff was. As I didn't have and didn't make the purchase my friend was issued an appearance ticket. Before letting us go, one of the detectives told us to find a new source as this guy was going down in the next few days.
Kevin was dating the daughter of the Chief of Police on a Federal Reserve(Ft. Snelling in MN). He got busted after prom night with an open bottle and a bag. After the Feds literally tore the car apart, mom came to bail him out and told him he had a court date in 2 weeks downtown. Federal property+federal court=Big Trouble! 10 days into the 2 weeks mother finally let me in on the punishment, which turned out to be nothing more than a guilt trip. There was No court date,No federal rap. I'm sure those cops had a GREAT party on his behalf.:rotfl:

Unfortunately I put on weight too. That's certainly the downside of quitting that I try hard not to think about. Ultimately, it's easier to diet than to quit smoking. That was the HARDEST thing I ever did. For three whole days I could have thrown up at any moment. When the physical side effects were over I knew I'd be okay because psychologically I was all set. I better not ever try Heroin or Crack :lmao:
I went on the patches when they first came out. I was fine as long as I didn't do anything that I associated with smoking, having a toddy was one of them. We never smoked in the car, so I used to make Kev take me for rides. I used to sew and crochet alot which meant that I also had a smoke in the ashtray the whole time, so I had to hang up my needle and thread for a while. I think the hardest times were after a meal, talking on the phone and going to the "can". ;)

That's really scary! :scared:

I went on the patches when they first came out. I was fine as long as I didn't do anything that I associated with smoking, having a toddy was one of them. We never smoked in the car, so I used to make Kev take me for rides. I used to sew and crochet alot which meant that I also had a smoke in the ashtray the whole time, so I had to hang up my needle and thread for a while. I think the hardest times were after a meal, talking on the phone and going to the "can". ;)
I have alot of those same triggers including the crocheting! Another trigger for some reason is being on vacation. To me, for some odd reason smoking and vacation go together. Every vacation I tell myself to go ahead and smoke but just on vacation. I haven't smoked yet, but maybe it's because I give myself permission ;)

We have had a full time nanny before - and we tried replacements, various day care alternatives - and so on. But we are VERY PARTICULAR about who we employ with our kids and in our home. IE... many folks who have a nanny say she is the greatest - EXCEPT -- every now and then things DISSAPPEAR. TO my spouse and I this is totally unacceptable. So much is IMPLIED silently by petty thievery.
Aside from that... I think EVERYONE has sacrifices to make if they have kids. Especially young ones. If you run two careers full time - that's great! But the flexability is narrow. I have a flexable business so I was the one to take the reins over the kids - and TRY to maintain what I could in business. And - I have time to post sometimes.
My image trolling is sometimes very fast - and other times I can't find an image at all and generally will not post at all. SO - it's "all or nothing" with me. WHich - BTW - was a nick name some friends used to apply in referring to me sometimes. In the matter of our kids - I am "ALL" the way committed to them... as are all of us here who have kids in tow.
I was a full time live in nanny while waiting for OCS classdate to arrive for almost a year...started with a 6 mo & 2 yo. The mother was a PM RN & the father a cheif on a ship. Many days the mother saw the girls while they ate breakfast as she passed thru on her way to bed. I fixed dinner & she came out ready to go to work. They couldn't take the fact that the baby had seperation anxiety from me and not them. One thing that experience made me realize was that I didn't want anyone else raising my kids IF I ever had them. At that point I was still career minded going into the Naval intel division to travel the world. On our trip thru Nova Scotia that is one thing that DH2B & I talked about...just 4 months after we had met. IF I ever had kids, I wanted to raise them. (please don't take this as anything against anyone who is not a SAHM...this is just what I learned thru my experience because I saw how the mother resented me) I am lucky enough that DH has a job that allows me to be here for the kids. Of course, we live in pohdunk, NC and the great rate I worked up to before staying home of 7.24 ph in 1998. That was quite the drop for me from working in VA so it doesn't pay for me to go to work here in the long run. When & if we move closer to a big city where I could have something left after daycare...I will probably return to an office. I have been thinking about getting into a job that I can do from home like medical billing though.

He was very popular when I was about 9 or 10 which means he has to be in his 60's or very close to it. He didn't look a day over 40 in the photo! It's making me feel very UNpreserved!
He was only like 16 when the group was on top of the charts. I've seen him several times on VH1.

:sad1:
Those were sure some scary times MR.

I'm addicted the other way - it's a good source of quick cash, but you have to have something that they are buying.
We sell sometimes too but I love the bargains so I buy much more than sell! :lmao:
Don't start Paula or you might end up needing a intervention like me (and maybe Mark) :lmao:
DH spends more time on Ebay than I do on the DIS - REALLY! :scared1: He both buys and sells. He uses separate ID's, one for buying and one for selling - but he NEVER would bid on his own auction (Its hard to believe how scummy some people are....) His selling ID has somewhere between 1100 and 1200 feedbacks at 99.9%. The 1 negative among all those was just a really weird person. During his main "selling season" from October - May, I usually ship around 20 boxes per week for him (more before the holidays). Unfortunately, pretty much everything he makes from Ebay - he spends on Ebay (or at antique stores)! He collects depression glass and his Ebay selling supports his habit! We're thinking of selling some of our comic book collection, so hopefully that money would be for something other than more glass! We have so much collectible glass, that DS7 will groan whenever DH walks in with a box - "Oh no - he's got more glass!" even before DH says what it is.
Henry the VIII to Battle of New Orleans. Now that is random.
While we're at random association - your song reminded me The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (at least it is a nautical story-song)
Cool - a "Great Lakes" song. I love that type of music (although I agree that Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald was seriously overplayed on the radio once-upon-a-time). My favorite singer (who probably no one has ever heard of!) is a folk singer who specialized in the songs of the Great Lakes. His name is Lee Murdock and he must be getting more "popular" since he doesn't actually play much around here anymore and is touring out of the midwest more and more. Many of the Great Lakes songs are about shipwrecks - but there are some lighter stories, shanties and nonsense songs so it isn't all doom and gloom. I think his most "famous" (at least in the world of folk music  ) is The Christmas Ship. Since he wrote it, there is now a play about the ships that brought the Christmas trees to Chicago and the Coast Guard has started re-enacting it and bringing Christmas Trees to Navy Pier to give to needy families. If anyone is interested in that type of music, his website is at http://www.leemurdock.com/ and I think some of his stuff is on Itunes.

I got tired of hearing gimme gimme and I want from DD mainly all the time. Once DS just said to use the CC. I sat them down & explained how we had to pay that bill and that daddy works very hard to make that money. I also asked them if they wanted that thing right then or to have the money to pay for the cruise...the cruise usually won. ;) They actually have stopped asking for things as often and think about how much things cost before they do buy them. They ask me if the item will go on sale or clearance. :thumbsup2 I am surprised at how much they had in their banks...after I corrected the swiping problem ;). It use to be spent the moment they had enough money. I was going to look into getting them nano shuffles for Christmas but if DS keeps asking for one, I might just offer to have him save up for an Ipod...with us paying half.

Yes, I whipped through those too! At some point I started speed reading - we don't know when, but I was doing it by 5th grade. Some of my favorite authors were Louisa May Alcott and Noel Streatfeild. Actually, I still go back and reread Noel Streatfeild - you may have heard of her book "Ballet Shoes", but she wrote tons of others. Many of them you could only get in Britain, but since my parents traveled quite a bit on business back then, they would bring them back for me.
Actually, I tend to like British authors - my two favorite authors for adult literature are Dorothy Sayers (I  Peter Whimsey) and Terry Pratchett. If you ever try Pratchett - just don't read him in public ... It is really embarassing when you fall off your chair laughing - REALLY embarassing....

Isn't it amazing the difference between then & now. I remember that child abuse was just starting to be a buzz word when I was in 7th or 8th grade. I went to a Catholic school where he was on the board at the CU, belonged to the men's club, was a 4th degree KofC, and BS leader. Big whoop! :sad2: Everyone ignored the fact that I walked into the school with a black eye twice. When the kids asked me who did it I said it was my dad.
