Because they see me as a "second" income, in my family, they don't think I need the money haha!!! They actually tell me that my husband earns a decent living. One day I'm gonna go POSTAL I tell ya!! But even if that was the truth (that I didn't need the $$).......what the heck does one thing have to do with the other???? A good day's work for a good day's pay! That is the only fair way.
Using their "logic", you could explain to them that based on their life expectancies, they do not need their money anyway, so why not feed the spring chicken?
THANKS Mary!! That really cheered me up! Gosh some days don't you wish you could flip off your boss and walk out..........maybe if I win the Mega Millions :rotfl:
Crap. Forgot the Mega Millions ticket again while I was out. Keep reminding me of that, surely I'll remember sometime between now and Tuesday to grab a ticket.
Why cant they have a Dog Sled Race in the Caribbean.......... Now that I would be up for.......... :woohoo:
Guess we'll have to stick to roping sea turtles.

I don't know about any of the others in the "wolf pack" but this wolf is definately slowing down. My postings are getting longer and fewer...
As for now - we're about to run off for a boys' birthday party / swim party. It's quite windy but the pool is heated to 74 supposedly. We'll see about that soon enough... <chuckles>...
C-ya later....

I thought my mom's DH was going to be going home oday. He is still on the vent--not having luck trying to wean him off. Now they think he has a touch of pneumonia and he is running a fever. They have moved him to another ICU room. Mom says the cause of this is that originally they over hydrated him before they did the surgery? :sad2:

Who else has late seating again? Come on....we almost have enough DISsers for a whole dining room on early seating.
The only thing I found difficult about the late was the start of cruise in 05 was the fact that we were eating a big dinner at midight our time. But I do enjoy the extra time at the pool

My little Enna-let woke us up before the crack of dawn asking to have the "throw up bowl". She fell asleep right after school yesterday and didn't want to wake up for dinner, so it seems like she's fighting the same virus I had earlier this week. Fortunately, she hasn't needed to use the throw-up bowl (TMI!) but we all feel better knowing it's with her just in case.
Then I had the early-morning trip for groceries and to pick up a b'day present for DS to take to a classmate's party this evening.
So, I'm not kidnapped, but compared to real life at the moment, kidnapped might be more fun! :)

Too hot! It is too hot up here for dogs to run in the summer. A few of the mushers have started swimming their dogs in the summer to build endurance.
The gear keeps you warm...none of us are nearly as fat as we appear in that photo!
Loved mushing! It actually is kinda hard. Getting 12 dogs to go in the same direction at the same time ain't easy! They start the race with 16 - we had 12 on our trip. We did more riding while the musher 'drove'.
I'm a sailor, I love sailing - I have no interest in motor boats. Mushing reminded me of sailing in a way. The dogs are loud and crazy until you start moving, then it gets very, very quiet and you really feel at one with nature. That's the part I love about sailing too.
That sounds absolute Wonderful!! Someday maybe I can do that......I would love too!

I think the lotto here is 31 million. I never remember to buy a ticket. My friend at work always buys her tickets everyweek, same #s religiously. She was at her DGS birthday party, got a headache bypassed buying it on the way home thinking she would go out later. Lotto was $ 35 million and it was all her numbers. She was so green that whole week. Her husband has been battling cancer (leukemia) for the last 2 years and she sure could've used the money. Her response is that it wasn't her time!!!

Where did the Pirate learn to draw his sword?
At the ARRRRT Institute!
:rotfl: 531 more to go!
For the Official Record of Saturday 03 March 2007:
I do not have a room assigned.
Me either
I do, but I can't find room "GTY" on any of the deck charts. I'm thinking it may be one of the suites...
Me too!
Well we didn't win the Mega Million :sad1: :sad1:
But...........
Neither did anyone else.....$340 Million on Tuesday!
We didn't win either - have to remember to buy another ticket!
Which kinda cake ...there has been alot of talk about urinal cakes on here for some reason
:scared1:
I'm a night owl, too, but I've done both late and early and I prefer early. Late dinner just seemed to make me sleepy and ready for bed. Plus, I didn't have room for my preferred cocktails. Basically, I prefer to stay out late, I like the night life, I like to boogie. Plus, my parents are on the cruise, too and my mom's diabetic. She has to eat on time and we figured that 6pm their time is like 9pm our time. That's already late for her, plus by time we get back, she'll be back on normal eating time. Or close enough. Course, dad wants to have room for the special buffets and snacks. Have to say that even with early seating, I never felt rushed for shore excursions (I just skipped dinner if it was something I really wanted to go to) and I never felt rushed to leave, either. There were several times we were the last ones out of the dining room. The rest of the room was reset except for our table.
We did late on the last one and are doing early on this one. I like the late seating but felt rushed with the rest of the night.
I REALLY need a new job. I going to take a look on Monster and CareerBuilder. Anyone in NJ looking to hire a middle-aged hardworking woman with Supermodel feet?
I spent Thurs. and Fri crying at my desk and unless I truly hate myself, it's time to move on to something new! I just crossed my arms and stomped my foot too!
MR :grouphug:
Andy...........Sorry about the tree...........WAY to close !!!!!!!
Now if we lived in Florida............woulda been a Palm Tree..........
They dont do nearly the damage..........
That's it...........We need to move to Florida !!!!!!!
Mark
Oh - I am so there!
Hey MR, Time for a Sing Along!
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
My woman left and took all the reasons I was working for
You better not try to stand in my way
When I'm walking out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
They'll have you in this factory
From now on for fifty years
All this time I see my woman
Drowning in her tears
I see a lot of people who
Gotta have a piece of me
I'd give the shirt right off my back
If I had the nerve to say
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
My woman left and took all the reasons I was working for
You better not try to stand in my way
When I'm walking out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
Great song!

Just got off the phone with my Darling Disney Bride. She is having a great time at the retreat, and wanted to say thanks again for all the birthday wishes. The ladies are on their way shopping at one of the outlet malls in the Lancaster, PA area. They are having a Formal Dinner tonight, so they have to be back by 5pm to get dressed for dinner.
DD and I had leftover Chinese for lunch, we might be heading to Applebee's for dinner later on.
Happy Birthday Hazel!!!!!
Funny you should mention hot flashes. The pharmacy that I use for the pseudo hormones for my hot flashes was in the neews this week. They all got busted for steroids. I told my DH, I hope they are still processing these as I don't want to give them up
:scared1: !
5000 posts
And that’s just on this thread
I like to thank my family for their understanding, the follow disboarders for putting up with me, and Tony Blair without whom anything is possible.
(and three years on the Dis)
Congrats!!!!
Oh Paula......does that mean we won't be eating together....darn it!
Who else has late seating again? Come on....we almost have enough DISsers for a whole dining room on early seating.
We have early seating!

:sad2:

I think the lotto here is 31 million. I never remember to buy a ticket. My friend at work always buys her tickets everyweek, same #s religiously. She was at her DGS birthday party, got a headache bypassed buying it on the way home thinking she would go out later. Lotto was $ 35 million and it was all her numbers. She was so green that whole week. Her husband has been battling cancer (leukemia) for the last 2 years and she sure could've used the money. Her response is that it wasn't her time!!!

Curious about that comment - is it because the prices go up higher? Really havent attended the talk yet so not sure how it could be applied. Just wondering, had a friend sign up and his base resort is Saratoga Springs and he's buying some more points when AK lodges opens up. Sounds like more Disney plans on getting your $ but hey - I keep going back for more.
Psst, geffric, they don;t know about me yet.....DVC Witness here...
[Soap Box on DVC]
Um, I already bought in at AK. There was a special op for existing members. If you bought 150 new points and were one of the first ones, they will hang a tapestry with your family name on it in the new wing. I thought it would be something special for the Kiddos...
I started with 150 at Boardwalk, and we are now up to 650 in various locations. DW loves the 1BR; "Washer/Dryer" She can start a load at night when we go to bed, put it in the dryer when we awaken (and if needed start another load then too) We can leave it all day and not have to worry about unloading. This means a lot less clothing needed. We also can fil up the fridge on a grocery stop. It isn't quite as good as concierge, but we like the size of the rooms. Also, Do you really need maid service every day? DW has the habit of cleaning up for the maid. It is less stressful for her, but less soap and stuff to take home.
Costs? Well, I think the costs went up on the first, but last month it was $99/pt with an $8 rebate if you buy at least 100 points. So for the sake of the arguement, AK at $91 a point... Actually, the pricing is in effect until June 4th
Complex Math.....
2054-2007=47 years
$91/ 47 years = $1.94 (per use year point)
Annual fee: (SS 2007) $4.12
so, if you bought in at this rate, your first use year points would cost you $6.06
A 1 BR at AKV has a weekly rate of the following during the spring Break Season...
Depending on the view: Value 169, Standard 198, Savanah 234, or Concierge...277
Using the bank/borrow you can you can blow 2 years worth of points in 1 year and stay on the concierge level with 150 points. Your cost is $6.06*277, or just under $1700 for the points. That is $240 a night (with no added room taxes).
If you wanted to just do a Sun-Thursday trip, it is only
Sun-Thu V 19, STD 22, Sav 26, Concierge 31
31 points a night (at $6.06 a night) is just under $190
Weekend points are more expensive:
Fri-Sat V 37, STD 44, Sav 52, Concierge...61
$370 a night. (61pts*$6.06)
So there you have it, for a week during Spring Break Next Year using freshly bought points, how much it will cost you...
If you buy in at 150 points, you can use 2 years at a time to get the 277 points for Concierge!!! If you don't care about the Savanah view or the concirge level, I would say get 200 points so you can go every year on points. You might up it to 225 so you have enough for the "Magic" season" (spring break etc...)
Any Questions???

The clouds started to part enough so I was able to see the beginning of the moon coming out of the eclipse.
I went back outside with my camera to try a get a pic, the clouds are blocking the moon again. :(

We're on late seating too -- our schedule shifts around on a cruise so that we go to bed much later (and sleep much later) than usual, and I found on our last cruise that early seating made the afternoon seem short and more rushed.

Hi, I'm on the May repo but was on the Aug 2005 repo and wanted to help you with the time zone issue. The very 1st night back in Aug of 2005 they yanked 1 hour from us and then took another the next day or so. We lost 2 hours quite quickly. We had late seating and are east coast folks. The 1st few nights at dinner were tough but as the time adjusted and the days went by it was hardly an issue.

So here's something new - sort of a double mystery.
We sent in a Foreman grill because it failed under warrenty. They emailed that a replacement had been sent to us ack in January - and the tracking number said it was delivered on January 31st. On February 21st we noticed it had not shown up - and that's when we checked the tracking number to see when it should have shown up. SO just 3 or 4 days ago we reported it missing to UPS. And they said they would send a claim request back to Salton. Well - guess what... it showed up today? That almost sounds too quick for Salton to have reshipped one... and my spouse says the box said something about having been delivered on the 31st of January. So what's it doing showing up on our doorstep today in March?
Now the same thing sort of was happening with Sharper Image. I had purchased a pair of binoculars off their auction site - and it never showed up. Also it's been a month with that. Well - I emailed them late last week - and today this showed up on our doorstep (delivered).
What gives?
It sounds like to me your delivery people aren't delivering until they get a contact of some sort from the company after you report it. No way another one could be sent out that fast!
So before I check out for the evening...
I think its' time for another round of 7 questions for this weekend....
SEVEN QUESTIONS....
1]. TWO PART QUERY.... Given a choice would you choose living with excess HEAT, COLD or HUMIDITY? Or name your preferred environment. Given a choice - what would be the LAST environment of choice [least desired aspect] from the preceeding options?
2]. TWO PART QUERY.... Who's your favorite HERO? And what about your favorite Archvillan?
3]. What's your all time favorite TV show (or movie if you have no favorite shows).
4]. Did you brush and floss your teeth this morning? And what about last nite?
5]. Whats' the most charming or thought provoking thing you have seen, witnessed or to have happened in the past 48 hours?
6]. If you could wake up tomorrow and relive any one day from your past... and relive it with possible changes ... but returning to the present would NOT change... what day would you like to relive? It's just pure fantasy.
7]. If you could change one thing about your home - what would it be?
Considering I've lived in Texas my entire life - I'd choose hot with as little humidity as possible. Probably the only place I'd even consider moving to in my life would be Florida... but it's pretty humid there!
Least desirable place to live? I'd have to say where there is LOTS of snow every long long winter.
Favorite hero? Superman... definitely superman. When Christopher Reeves was superman I so wanted to be Lois Lane... you betcha. LOL
Archival? I don't get into those...
Now stacey is going to think I'm copying her but it's the truth- Little House on the Prairie- hands down! I wanted Laura's dad to be my dad. I wanted to be Laura!
I brushed and flossed last night. I brushed this morning. I didn't eat in between so I didn't think flossing again in the morning was necessary.
Charming or thought provoking thing in the last 48hrs? Hmmm, that's a toughy. I think that's a toss up between the story about the ring returned to daughter and the family taking care of the kids while the mother is in the hospital!
Relive one day in the past but I'd still get to the present? Well there are many things in my past that I wish I could change but all of them WOULD change my present, so I'll pass on that...
Change one thing about my home? Well considering we just bought this house in Nov... I don't think I'd REALLY change anything. It's pretty darn near perfect for us. Okay I can think of one thing- I don't like the way the landscaping surrounded in bricks and stuff juts out the side of the garage/driveway... so even though the driveway curves out there too, I dislike having to back out of the garage (that comes out the side- another trend that I'm not particularly fond of to begin with- what's so wrong with just backing straight out a garage to the road? ugh) and do a little curvey thing in the driveway. It's not fun trying not to run over the landscaping there and then trying to adjust back so I don't go in the grass on the other side of the driveway. Kind of a pain.
Yes, my guess is a lazy UPS delivery agent who is marking the packages as delivered and then only taking the time to come out if someone complains. I avoid UPS whenever possible after last year when the delivery person stole my son's medication. (It is a controlled substance from a mail-order pharmacy. We received a note saying they tried to deliver it. We called and asked for redelivery and UPS told us they could not find it. Later found out the delivery agent had taken it.)
I agree on the thought of lazy UPS delivery person... and OMG that's horrible about the medication!
Don't think I've ever seen a morning where I only had to click through four pages of ketchup. Busy day today. One son is off to "Merit Badge University" (a Boy Scout thing) already. Other son has PA Math testing today for 6th grade and we are taking DD4 out to dinner tonight in honor of her birthday Monday (although she does not deserve it -- had a big row yesterday over her messy room, finding empty pudding cups in it and Play-Doh stuck to the carpet that she tried to hide with a blanket)
What type of testing do they have in 6th grade that is on a SATURDAY?? That's just crazy!
Hmm, so you have a 6th grader that hides empty pudding cups in her room too? I have lived thru that... (mine is in 7th grade now and I think I have threatened her life enough to stop the pudding cups. I think LOL)
You are so welcome! I'm glad the shirts made it there on time and that the kids liked them . . .
Oh they did like them!
Does it make me look like a bad mom to say I allowed my youngest to put that shirt and her red sweatpants back on after her shower to go to BED IN THOSE CLOTHES? Well she really really wanted to... no, she's not the least bit spoiled... :rotfl:
thanks again!
Hazel:cheer2:

It's Hazel's birthday??!!!
Well get down... HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAZEL! :)
We have late seating, we always have, even with the kids. DH works until 7 pm most nights, so we're used to having dinner late.
As for the cruises, we like the extra time late seating gives us to be out on excursions and still get back and get ready for dinner.
As long as we don't linger over dinner for too long, we still get to the clubs in time for the fun...when they are playing a game or whatever...and usually call it a night by midnight.
I've also often wondered if the early seating feels rushed to be done and out the door so that the servers can get ready for the next round?
We've never felt pressured if we were in the midst of a good conversation and a cup of coffee or after dinner wine.
You call it a night by midnight?
Somehow I had you pegged as more of a nightowl than THAT. geesh LOL No wonder we never saw you except earlier in the day- we barely got our hineys near the clubs until shortly before midnight.
I think we're going to stay with late dining. I think this time we will NOT force the kids to eat with us- they weren't particularly THRILLED with the food (and we didn't receive super fun for kids type service either- not that it was bad... just saying they won't miss it) -so I think we'll just let them eat with the lab and then they can have their fun in the lab during our dinner time instead of fussing that they are missing all the fun stuff by eating with us in late dining!
I hope we get 8pm though because anything later than that and we'll probably just be skipping dinner most nights. 8pm was late enough last time! We were leaving the dining room around 9:30pm or later!
That WAS fun. I think I signed out at 11:00 my time...or somewhere around there.
It was midnight my time. That's all I know!
We have always done late seating. The reason we like it is because we don't feel rushed on port days. Our last cruise, we had an 8:30 seat time and had VERY slow service and that is the first time I did not enjoy late seating. I think that was a fluke though.
Hey, I remember that song.....
Like I said above- if we get 8:30pm that will really be pushing it too late for us. We already missed a lot of late night buffets, stuff going on, etc. with 8pm seating time!
I'm just glad it was my fence, and not my house!!! ;)
I am too!!!!!! Amen to that.
No real story Mary Ann......I got her from the rescue person who drove Chrissy from Kentucy to NJ for us. Anyway, she was in very poor shape and so I took her to the Vet before bringing her to the house. It was a few days before Christmas and when they asked me on the spot at the Vet's office for her name..........well I am no good under pressure and blurted out Chistmas. Well rather than change it, our kids and us decided to keep the silly name and add Tree as a middle name. We call her Chrissy (except during December) but just this morning the Vet came in and said "Hello Christmas" is ridiculous really, but funny!
Awww, so sweet!
We rescued Tramp (from the kill-shelter!) a few days before Christmas a couple of years go. Cute name!
Andrew.....I already have thousands of pounds.........how about some money :rotfl:
:lmao:
Can someone translate for me ????? LOL
Mark
sorry, I can't!
:upsidedow
Sounds like a lot of fun!
We are linked with Diane's family for Late Dining. :upsidedow
Yeah! More late dining people!
However... are we already linking up people to people? If so, who are WE goin to be linked up with? I hope we're atleast close to Stacey's table... yes, I'm now officially a Stacey stalker. Well not really, but let's just say that out loud in case some people are thinking it. :confused3
Oh snap, I told Hazel I would do the laundry today since she is away and I forgot all about it.................sorry all...............gotta go sort the clothes.
You better get cracking! That's sweet of you though. (and funny that you said oh snap! Do you watch Raven too?)
You mean CORCS don't you?? ;)

:lmao: aw, you beat me to the Stackey! Tha'ts what I get for cleaning all day...

:lmao:
Thank you...I thought everyone would laugh at me for that.
no way! We'd never laugh at you, Stacey. Even if we're laughing we're laughing WITH YOU. remember that! :)
Okay I thought Shelley would do that, not M and of course leave it to the swabbie to IMMEDIATELY pick up on it THAT IS TERRIBLE!
You thought I'd really do it? I'm not sure I have the cahoonas (sp?) to do that. If I did, I'd have to be in disguise the whole cruise so as to avoid Stacey slapping me upside the head, atleast once. :rotfl:
Oh no! I hope the little Enna-let is feeling better by now- or soon!
So sorry to hear this Enna, hope you and little Enna start feeling better soon.
Angelina is sneezing her head off, eyes all watery, and she has 11th Grade State Testing from Monday through Thursday this coming week. I'm hoping it's just allergies and that she isn't coming down with anything.
Time to put my work clothes in the dryer. Be back in a bit. ;)
Oh no! I hope it's just allergies and nothing more serious. Not cool to be sick when you have testing going on! :(
I think the lotto here is 31 million.

Fortunately, she hasn't needed to use the throw-up bowl (TMI!) but we all feel better knowing it's with her just in case.
:grouphug: Hope Enna-let feels better soon and that the cooties don't spread 'round the Enna Family!

Thank Mary Ann & Mark! At the risk of boring everyone..suffice is to say I am in a tug of war between two people over 80 years of age. I am the prize, because to them at 46 I am a spring chicken LOL! The real problem is that I work hard and cheap so I created this monster myself. I stayed home for five years and was glad for the "break" they gave me when I returned to work. Well that was over two years ago and I think my debt is paid. Here is the number one problem though.
Now that just stinks. They so sound like "old school". Very few places are that primeval to take your spouses salary into account when determining one's pay :sad2: .

I am so tempted to buy DVC. All this talk here lately. Added to the deal at DL right now...I have 1 non-Disney timeshare that I bought off ebay a few years ago for $500....yep, that's all I paid, clear title, deeded for life. It's in Texas and I've never seen it. I just trade it every year. Unfortunately it's traded with RCI so I can't trade into Disney, that's only available with II.
Now, the deal at DL is for AP holders. You get $15 off per point for Saratoga Springs. Plus you get a voucher for an AP at either DL or WDW. This deal supposedly ends Monday, so since I'm not fully decided yet, guess I probably won't.

Now, the deal at DL is for AP holders. You get $15 off per point for Saratoga Springs. Plus you get a voucher for an AP at either DL or WDW. This deal supposedly ends Monday, so since I'm not fully decided yet, guess I probably won't.
I'm still waiting for announcement of a DL DVC!

Not much of a drinker here but once in a while I enjoy an ice cold corona with lime.

Don't drink beer, just wine (and only red at that), but if I had to make a choice it would be an ice cold one in a .....BOTTLE

I'm a day late, since I had to dig it out and scan it, but I wanted to share my "money shot" of the Grand Canyon.

It sounds like to me your delivery people aren't delivering until they get a contact of some sort from the company after you report it. No way another one could be sent out that fast!
I agree on the thought of lazy UPS delivery person... and OMG that's horrible about the medication!
It's Hazel's birthday??!!!
Well get down... HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAZEL! :)
It was midnight my time. That's all I know!
Like I said above- if we get 8:30pm that will really be pushing it too late for us. We already missed a lot of late night buffets, stuff going on, etc. with 8pm seating time!
I am too!!!!!! Amen to that.
Awww, so sweet!
We rescued Tramp (from the kill-shelter!) a few days before Christmas a couple of years go. Cute name!
:lmao:
sorry, I can't!
Sounds like a lot of fun!
Yeah! More late dining people!
However... are we already linking up people to people? If so, who are WE goin to be linked up with? I hope we're atleast close to Stacey's table... yes, I'm now officially a Stacey stalker. Well not really, but let's just say that out loud in case some people are thinking it. :confused3
You better get cracking! That's sweet of you though. (and funny that you said oh snap! Do you watch Raven too?)
:rotfl: aw, you beat me to the corcs reference...
:lmao: aw, you beat me to the Stackey! Tha'ts what I get for cleaning all day...
:lmao:
no way! We'd never laugh at you, Stacey. Even if we're laughing we're laughing WITH YOU. remember that! :)
You thought I'd really do it? I'm not sure I have the cahoonas (sp?) to do that. If I did, I'd have to be in disguise the whole cruise so as to avoid Stacey slapping me upside the head, atleast once. :rotfl:
Oh no! I hope the little Enna-let is feeling better by now- or soon!
Oh no! I hope it's just allergies and nothing more serious. Not cool to be sick when you have testing going on! :(
Oh
My
God.
I would just die.
Poor dear... :(
I sure didn't! I wasn't anywhere near that point at the time she wrote it. But she sure is giving me a run for the money huh? Trying to steal my queendom I guess.
:lmao:
Oh me too! now THAT is what I call a dessert!!!!! Oh baby... chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Fudge, or whatever. mmmmm
What happened with tigger and pooh?
I feel my arteries clogging up just reading it. (but it sounds good LOL)
Oh no. :(
How dare they get married at the same time as our once in a lifetime cruise!
Well, we'll miss you.
So... everyone was posting and I was TRYING to read today but instead I tried to ignore my heathen children as much as possible by emersing myself in major cleaning all day. Sometimes it's the only way I can resist the urge to lose my mind with these kids. And I have EIGHT MORE DAYS of them all day long every day. ahhhhhhhhhhhh Sometimes I wish my kids had a little less energy and weren't quite so smart for their britches (read: smart mouthed)
Hope everyone is having a lovely evening! I'm reading all the posts, but unfortunately I can't possibly respond to them all (ofcourse). By the time I catch up I'm so far behind again... that's why I do the multi-quotes. If I tried to post responses as I went along it would take even longer to catch up!
Chat was fun last night. I'm not a chat virgin anymore!

Sorry to hear that. It is always difficult to make that decision. Have had to do that a couple of times. Our thoughts go out to you and your DW.
