I forget which thread I have posted what on...I'm old like Holly's boss....but, I am having a near perfect day. We are on the Oregon coast (Lincoln City) in our new motorhome. DrHug is working over here of 3 days so I took the time off work and came with him. I have done crossword puzzles and listened to my IPod today. :goodvibes I planned on reading, but found I could not listen to the IPod and read, but I can listen and do crosswords! I just had a Corona! It is, of course, raining so no walks for me today, now that would be perfect. I think we will go to the casino tonight and make a small donation. Tomorrow I will take DrHug to work so I can have the car and go prowl around the outlet mall. There is a Coldwater Creek outlet store there....my favorite store! :thumbsup2

How nice! You've got the life I'd love to have! Enjoy your 3 days of relaxation! :goodvibes

I on the other hand got to sit around waiting for the phone guy to install my new business line. And then he had to come inside to do something with the phone jack. When he bent over I had to leave the room to keep from laughing. I think you get the picture! :rolleyes1

Don't forget we are doing a Scavanger Hunt (with prizes), on a Sea day. Anyone who wants can join. Just PM me how many adults, teens, and kids. I am very excited about this! :dance3:

For those of you who don't want to do the group scavanger hunt but want to do it on your own: I will find a way to get it to you, I haven't thought of how yet.

I LOVE HP. I am unsure about snape but think he is good.

:offtopic: I just reserved my copy of the next (final :sad1: ) Harry Potter book. I got to choose one of two stickers: "Trust Snape" or "Snape is a very bad man." I chose "Trust Snape." Where do the rest of the Harry Potter fans stand on the Snape issue? Inquiring minds want to know.

I know return you to your Palo tea discussion.

I'm on the trust Snape side.

I was bawling like a baby when Dumbledore was killed. That one was very hard for DS. I think he's almost expecting Harry to be killed in the final book, so he's bracing for it. I don't know if JK could get away with doing that. Think of the uproar. She has said that 2 characters will be killed in the final book....

We've never gone to the midnight release parties, but I think I might let the boys go to this one, DS9 anyway. We'll see.

I went to the last midnight release party. Had to go stand in line at 6pm to get the numbered bracelet then back about 11:45pm. DH couln't handle the chaos so he went back out the car after about 5 minutes. I'll probably go alone this time.

I am having a hard time with Snape too but I think he will turn out good. Too obvious that he is trying to be bad and not succeeding. If she kills Harry off in the last book she will have to do it after he kills Voldemort or she will lose the whole good versus bad theme in her books. I heard that Daniel Radcliff is hoping she does kill him off. It would be a sure way of seeing that HP isn't revived by anyone else. I, myself, would love to see all three main characters live and have that hateful kid in Slitherin (sp) bite the dust. :thumbsup2

Carol

I think Dumbeldore was asking Snape to kill him in the last book as he didn't want to but Dumbledore knew it was the only way Voldermort's followers would believe he was one of them. I totally love the idea of the Slytherin kid being one of the 2 deaths (or his father).

but JKR claims it will be a main character and I just can't see her killing off Ron, especially not now that he and hermoine are on the same page (:lmao: )

it's either going to be harry and voldemort (so no one else can ever continue the series) or snape and voldemort.

I think it's going to be Hagrid. (I actually thought it was going to be him the last book until I started reading it.

I think I figured out where Linda (Seaulater) is. She has no less than 4cruises before the repo. I guess she's busy planning her other cruises. Lucky lady.

What a bummer....4 cruises before this one!!! :cool1: I am so jealous. This will only be my second cruise, but hopefully there will be many more after this one, especially with the 2 new ships and the hopeful new locations.

Here's pictures of my Ella as a baby....we got her at 3 months old.

How cute. Kittens are the cutest cuz they are so cuddly.

Don't know if y'all saw this or not, but Disney is going to update the Disney Dreams show and the sail-away party. Here's a link (http://www.allearsnet.com/cruise/cr_news.htm#031507)to the info on Deb's site.

Wow, I take the girls to dance for 2 hours and come home to see the race to 10,000! Great job girls! I thought there would have been many more EB'ers here since they think it is so important to get those "special" posts. I have to miss DWTS tonight since it is my dance class at the gym....bet I won't look anywhere near those stars:lmao: and hopefully the cop won't come back again tonight! :scared1:

So many theories on HP....and if you really think about it they all could be right. I hope that Voldemort is one of the 2 killed because without him the series is definately over. I like the idea of the slitherin kid being killed too. He bugs me. With all their powers you would think people would see right through him and his father. Guess we are all going to have to wait :sad2: :sad2: We've waited 18 months already, so what is another 4 right?!

How many DH's are interested in the couples tea? Just curious.

Dh is on the list.Don't forget the spray tan:) As long as it is a good quality you won't look orange and you'll have color!!!!! My mom cannot tan (she is of the burn and peel family) and she loves a spray tan because it is the first time in her life she is able to look tan.
I follow the same pre-vacation treatment. Sometimes makes life a bit more stressful.:rotfl2: I also throw in a massage and adjustment if I am going to WDW because without that I get whiplash on the roller coasters (which I love going on) and then my vacation is ruined. :sad2: But I learned if I get those 2 things before I go....Rock n Roll, Big Thunder, Everest, here I come!!! :thumbsup2

Always do spray tan here. I do it twice b4 we cruise.

I know, I know. You just know how some of us parents are. ;) I quickly got over any feelings of inadequacy. Midway thru the year a lightbulb  went on and bam, he was reading like he'd never had a problem. Every child seems to come into their own at their own pace. And we just love reading aloud. DS is in third grade now and we still read chapter books aloud each night. He loves the more complex stories that are just a little too difficult for him to plow thru on his own. And it's also our special cuddling time. Don't know how much longer that will last.

What you described above was the main reason I loved teaching first grade! They went from "not knowing" to "knowing" in so many ways during that year!

Enjoy that cuddling time! You and your son are blessed!:cloud9:

I love the X-Files. In fact, 10 years ago when I was cleaning out my mother's house after she passed away, I found a big note she had left pinned up over her phone that said "Don't call Terri during the X-Files"!

My favorite episode is the Men In Black one with my former governor as one of the Men In Black. I think it was the funniest and most creative show in the whole series.

Yes, I love catching up on them!!:thumbsup2

Love the Star kitty picture. Here's what my handsome 16 year old cat A.J. is doing right now:
http://www.tatheta.com/img/AJSnoozing.jpg

He sleeps so much now that I hardly ever see his eyes. But I do remember they are amazing. They actually are different rings of color (blue, green, gold) blending into one another.

He's started doing the craziest thing. He'll sit in the middle of the floor and look down... and just sit there staring at the floor for the longest time. It's like he's trying to remember why he's there or where he's going. Can't help it but it reminds me of Holly's boss!! :rotfl:

I was crying when Sirius Black died too, mainly because everyone Harry loves dies. Then they take away Dumbledore? How much more can Harry take? How much more can I get wrapped up in imaginary characters? I'm hopeless.:rotfl:

:offtopic: I just reserved my copy of the next (final :sad1: ) Harry Potter book. I got to choose one of two stickers: "Trust Snape" or "Snape is a very bad man." I chose "Trust Snape." Where do the rest of the Harry Potter fans stand on the Snape issue? Inquiring minds want to know.

I know return you to your Palo tea discussion.

The Baltimore Sun had an article about this today. I confess I haven't read any of the books. I've only seen parts of the first movie. :rolleyes1

Very cute!! My DH is 6'4" as well but he loves the whole pirate thing. I showed him the "mother of all afros" last night and he got a huge kick out of it....then I ventured to show him the shoes....after a little pleading he agreed.

I think all four of us will need new pirate costumes by cruise time....!! Maybe the after Halloween sales will be good this year.

Ok, I have all the books except #2, i am #70 on the wait list at the library, they have 5-8 copies. I will be waiting for ever! I listen to them on the subway took about a week to listen to book #1.

I love books on tape. I listen to them in the car on long trips. At home and vacuuming is great also.

Good morning everybody! Got to work at 8:30 this morning, but no boss. He's usually here before me, so it's always a pleasant surprise to have a few minutes of freedom. :goodvibes Was able to get caught up here before he gets in. After him being gone most of last week, I figured he'd be playing catch up like crazy yesterday after I left and would have tons of piles of work waiting for me on my desk when I came in this morning. Only one tiny thing that took me literally a minute to do. Hmmmm.....probably the calm before the storm, so today could be total chaos. Catch you all later!

Hi guys,

I wanted to drop a post in here because I have no idea when I will get the opportunity to catch up now , or post . . .

Some of you are aware that we lost my mom the week leading into our cruise with the “Geeks” this last December. I got mom to the hospital the Saturday before our cruise, and by Sunday evening she had passed away. We ended up delaying our trip by a day, and going on the cruise with a heavy heart, which was uplifted by all of our friends here.

Well, yesterday I got a call from where my dad goes for physical therapy that he had passed out while there, and they called 911. So I spent a good part of the day and evening at the hospital yesterday. Dad is in good spirits, and is stable, but they have discovered a clot in each leg, low blood count, and fluid on his heart and his lungs (congestive heart failure). He is now in the coronary unit of our local hospital.

I am optimistic that dad will be fine, and that he is under good care.

We are hopeful for a good prognosis, and hopeful to still leave for a week on Friday.

:thumbsup2

Carol

Here's my theory: Snape really is good, and Dumbledore asked him to kill him in the last book. The whole "Severus please..." thing. Anyway, I think Snape and Voldemort will be killed in the final book. But Snape will die a martyr (sp?) in the process of saving Harry from Voldemort. Can you tell I have spent waaaay too much time thinking about this?

This is a question for the those among us who are not US citizens. I have been reading the latest passport thread. It's getting a little heated. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1386812

When do people get passports in your country?

Do most people get passports in your country get them as just part of the norm at a certain age or do they, like most of the people here wait until they plan a trip?

I think we have been spoiled in being allowed to travel with just Birth certificates. I remember as a child and even in my 20's being able to cross the border between Canada and Mexico and only having to declare I was a US Citizen, with no proof what so ever.
I went to the Bahamas and brought only my Driver's license.

I'm probably wrong, but I bet all other countries, except our bordering neighbors, require passports for travel. We are lucky we have gotten away without them for so long.

I totally agree! (About the Snape Voldermort thing) You can never spend too much time thinking about it.

After the last book came out I started getting e-mails from one of my co-workers adult daughters whom I've never met. She had finished the book like me but no one else she knew had and she was bursting to talk to someone so the co-worker gave her my address. There was so much to discuss after the last one.

Well over here we don't need them until we go to out of the UK, but we do go abroad quite often, so therefore people generally get them quite early in life. We have never been able to use just a birth certificate etc in my lifetime.
It was thought that we wouldn't need them to go within the European community, but in reality they are needed for getting back into the UK, for which I am very pleased these days!

Early 70's - hot pants and go-go boots
Later 70's - bell bottoms and platforms

We were wearing bell bottoms and go-go boots in the 60's as teens.
Platform shoes and mini skirts were MAINSTREAM (meaning you'd see adults wearing them) in the 70's. Probably more than any other decade the 60-70's just kind of flowed together fashion wise. Things we teens were wearing from the mid sixties on, you would see on adults in the 70's. In the early 70's we were wearing hot pants to the office (and I looked darn good in them too).

There's another whole theory about Dumbledore not really being dead, but it's pretty far fetched. It has something to do with the Avada Kedavra curse that Snape used. Suposedly, every other time it is used in the books, there's a flash of green and the victim falls down dead immediately. But when Snape uses it, Dumbledore goes flying backward over the edge of the tower. Theories abound that Snape or Dumbledore silently did a different spell and he's not really dead. I think it's wishful thinking, but I would be nice. JK Rowling puts so many clues in her books that I totally miss until I go back and reread after having read the next books. She does put in a lot of stuff about silent spells and mind reading (legilemency??) in book 6, so maybe... We'll just have to wait and see.

Everybody should check their passports. Most countries require that the passport is good for at least 6 months past the time you are travelling.

Now for the long, rambling part. Feel free to skip over this.

I first got a passport in college because of a band trip to Europe. We travelled to East Germany (now you know we're talking about a loooong time ago), and the border crossing was very intense, particularly on the return to West Germany. We all had to get out of the bus while it was searched, and even the larger band instrument cases were opened up to make sure we weren't smuggling anyone across the border. Also, they used these large mirrors on carts to look under the bus. It was all very interesting to us wide-eyed youth from Iowa.

Big difference two years ago when we last visited Europe. We drove all over Europe and never stopped at a border crossing, except into the Czech Republic. You just drive past all these empty border stations. Kind of weird. Also, the boys were a bit disappointed not to get stamps in their passports. DS has had a passport since he was 5 months old. It was pretty funny using it when he was 3 years old. How could anybody tell if it was the same kid. I can definitely see why children's passports need to be renewed every 5 years instead of 10.

to those who went on the last Panama sailing, how many pins were special to that cruise? Were there a ton?

V, there was one for every port and one big one for the sailing as a whole, another for PC day. On the WB is was a zoo and people were sleeping in the halls to get a spot in line, on the EB they seems to get the whole pin distribution system fixed. I have pictures in my purse of people with pillows and blankets in the artium, had to show Sasha from Crotia, whom now lives in my city. There may have also been normal Artist choice and Captian's choice pins as well.

ahhh...Harry Potter.....

how will it all end??? i know Dumbledore is dead because his portrait showed up in the Headmaster's office. He will still be able to give some advice to Harry this way...besides, he already gave Harry the way Voldermort can be defeated....LOVE (i.e friendship)...(at this point in book 6 i was reminded of the scene in Brother Bear where he was given the love totem...:lmao: )

i think we have all been thinking about another showdown between Harry and Voldemort like the one in book 4 but i do not think we will see another one on one magical fight...i think Voldemort will be defeated by most of the members of the DA, Harry's friends. Voldemort never had anyone close enough that would actually die for him and fight for him because the Death Eaters are doing all this for their own reasons and "glory"...i think we will see a final battle where Harry and his friends, possibly adults friends too, all face Voldemort together......and that is why the power of love can overcome the darkness of voldemort...

that being said...do you think Harry will live at the end?:wizard:

Suposedly, every other time it is used in the books, there's a flash of green and the victim falls down dead immediately. But when Snape uses it, Dumbledore goes flying backward over the edge of the tower. Theories abound that Snape or Dumbledore silently did a different spell and he's not really dead. I think it's wishful thinking, but I would be nice. JK Rowling puts so many clues in her books that I totally miss until I go back and reread after having read the next books. She does put in a lot of stuff about silent spells and mind reading (legilemency??) in book 6, so maybe... We'll just have to wait and see.

Sweetie, I work in a bookstore, . I will have the book at store open, although I can get an extra 6% off the cover price via Chapters and get the book at midnight, hmmm. I think that I will re-"read" the second book, then listen to the others before the 7th comes out. But it will be nice to have all 7 on my ipod. I have two copies of each book, the mass market cover and the adult cover.

Talk away, I will be with you all.:coffee:

Love Harrods!! DD was once refused entry and had to go back to hotel and change her $300 ripped jeans. Of course, we told her she couldn't wear them but you know the lesson she learned when she was refused entry was priceless. Love the market downstairs, the sushi bar, the tapas bar, the champagne and oyster bar, the Georgian room, I could go on and on. We buy teas and goodies for home. Always get a mani/pedi, wrap, massage and scalp treatment with blow dry when I am in London at the Knightsbridge store.
Love the ice cream parlor!

I've posted this on the Door magnet thread at DCL Forum.

Someone's selling a door magnet for the Med cruise on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Disney-Cruise-Li...QQcmdZViewItem
They have 3 bids and it is now selling for $9.50.

I can't get the page to come up. Was it your design?

Dh is on the list.

Always do spray tan here. I do it twice b4 we cruise.

Noel: Does the second time make it last longer? Do you do the booths, home stuff or go in and have it sprayed on by someone?
COLOR]

Just have to tell you all - we're going on the Dec 2nd 4 night Wonder!!!:yay: It is on hold at the moment and we will pay the deposit tonight!! I wish some of you were going to be onboard though.

How wonderful. Enjoy...it will make these next 400+ days go by much quicker having a DCL fix in between I am sure.

Morning all...I am taking a half day today and DH and I are going to see the Indians/Devil Rays game...hopefully it will be a nice day out. The girls have pictures at school today and Samantha wanted to wear her Sleeping Beauty costume...luckily Haley has one that matches.

Oh, you will have to post those! How cute:)

Now, off to continue catching up....
Can anyone tell me why the DIS goes down every day and why it goes down at random times? Was all set to do some surfing last night about kids clubs and it was down from 9-1030 (PST) when I finally gave up and went to read. I was just wondering

John, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Sounds like he is in great care. Sending lots of pixiedust: :grouphug: and positive thoughts your way.

I lost both my parents. One to a terminal disease and one to a tragic sudden death. The fortunate thing (if that term should even be used) about a terminal disease versus a sudden tragic death is you can say goodbye. The bad thing is it is very painful and takes a long time to recover from being care giver to mourner. I am only 34 and have lost both parents. The most pain for me has been not being able to share the joy of my girls with my parents. We lost DH's mom last April so we are down to one Grandpa who lives on the East Coast. We have flown out 3 times in the past 2 years because I think it is so important. I am thinking Florida would just be a better spot for us.:goodvibes

I finally spoke to Javier today. who's the manager at Storyteller's. I called him a few weeks ago and he never called me back so today when I called, I left a message which was terse, but nice....I guess it worked because today is his day off and he called me back!!! :thumbsup2

He's going to get us all set up and call me back on Thursday (he's off today and tomorrow) with final details but the bottom line is as follows:

When - Sunday, May 20th
Time - 5:00PM
Where - Storyteller's, Grand Californian
Meal - Buffet (large variety of food)
Cost - $26.99/adult; $11.99/ages 3-9
15% gratuity added automatically to bill

He said for parties this large they only do buffet, so there's no option in matter. And for a group of this size, I think that works out better so that there's not any confusion with the bill, etc.

These are the people who indicated they're coming...if you've changed your mind, please PM me back so that I can tell him to remove you from the reservation:

(Oh, and guess we should spend some time with the parents, too :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: ). Will be taking them all to DL on the 25th and 26th. Can't wait. Need something to look forward to in order to make the time before this cruise go by faster.

Our next Disney fix will be WDW from Sept. 1st to 8th. :cool1: :cool1: Now that things are finally falling into place I have something other things to look forward to.

Okay, I just bought our airline tickets so it is official!  :cool1: :cool1: We will be in CA from June 19th to June 29th. We will be flying into San Diego to see our DD, DSIL and DGKs. Our newest, and 1st girl, should be born any time now and we are going out to see her and her brother.

Carol

Lovely to have another grandchild on the way. You are going to have a really great vacation with them.

By the way the Eastbounders are about to reach a post landmark! Should we venture over?

Noel,

Sorry to hear about your DH's aunt. You all are in our thoughts.

Thank goodness the last year and a half have quieted down for us. During the 5 years prior to that I lost 2 aunts, an uncle, my father, my mother and DH lost his father and brother. To say the least it was a rough few years but it has been a recuperative year and a half and we are now looking forward to a new life. :cutie: princess:

LiserAnn, 4 (2A, 2C)
clynne, 4 (2A, 2C)
ibouncetoo, 1 (1A)

birkner, 2 (2A)
LisaG520, 2 (2A)
tink1963, 2 (2A)
woody73, 2 (2A)

If I got the adult child ratios wrong, please let me know...and if more of you want to join us, please PM me with your name, party size and # of children to adults.

That should do it!!!

:sad1: :sad2: That sounds like so much fun...I wanna go. But sadly we will have just returned from WDW on the 18th and I am pretty sure DH would look at me as if I were possessed if I asked him if we could head to DL for a quick trip:confused3 I don't think that is so crazy?! :lmao: We want details and pictures for those of us stuck at home!

I have to say, there seems to be so much tragedy right now.:sad2: We just got a call here at the office that a friend of ours DH was killed last night by a drunk driver. He was a state cop who was on his way home from a meeting and was hit head on. My good friend (also a state cop) was the first on the scene and was the one who had to go pick up his wife and take her to the hospital. They have 2 boys, 2 & 5.
OK, I am ready for some good stories now...maybe back to HP discussions or how about SHOES??????:cool1:

Oh John1. So sorry to hear this. We will keep your family in our prayers. Please update us as you can.

Today is my first time on the boards since last Weds. and there is no way I'm going to catch up completely. I'm working from home today so that gave me a little time and I think I've at least caught up on the important stuff.

First and foremost, to all of those who are suffering losses, illness, or other tragedy, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

The weather is very interesting here today. All of the dogwood and cherry trees are blooming, the bees are out, the birds are singing, and it's SNOWING! We have had such weird weather this winter. I just want it to be over. I desperately need to dry out and warm up.

A quick trip to Disneyland would be a dream right now. But that's just not happening. Between saving money and vacation time for the cruise next year we'll be lucky if we can go camping this year. But, aaahhh, it's going to be so worth it. I've been planning this vacation for years. Originally, when I was dreaming of this vacation it was going to be 10 days in WDW and a week long Disney cruise. But it's so much better! A week at WDW and 2 weeks on the Magic will be pure heaven.

I wish I could participate in the Harry Potter conversations but I never did get into that phenomenon. I'll have to stick to the shoes and shopping conversation. I know a lot about that!

Thought I should post a picture about my kitty. Her name is bear and she is a lover when it's on her terms. She does the staring at the floor thing too. I always thought she was just a spacey cat. Guess she's not the only one. Also, our pomeranian, Bella. She was supposed to be my 50th birthday present. I really wanted a chihuahua but I got talked out of it. But she has turned out to be my husband's dog. She and I don't really get a long. He spoiles her so rotten that now she has some behaviour issues. My DD who lives with us also has a cat named Simba. I'll save pics and stories about him for another day.

Sorry to be so long winded.

Tina

I bought shoes today! Dropped DrHug at work then went to the outlet mall. One shirt at Coldwater Creek, one top and shoes at Liz Claiborne, a stop at the kitchen store for a couple of items we needed for the MH and then to Harry and David's for dark chocolate truffles! Then to pick up DrHug to have lunch with him, now back at the MH DISing. My days are good this week!

I'm right there with you Lori!! Totally obssesed with HP!!:wizard:

I totally agree! (About the Snape Voldermort thing) You can never spend too much time thinking about it.

After the last book came out I started getting e-mails from one of my co-workers adult daughters whom I've never met. She had finished the book like me but no one else she knew had and she was bursting to talk to someone so the co-worker gave her my address. There was so much to discuss after the last one.

Oh and I think D really is dead but will still be around in his portraits.

Hadn't thought about the portraits!!

So glad now! But I still wish that he weren't really dead!:sad2:

I am now the oldest of my siblings since we lost my parents. My DH's parents are also both gone. We get togther at holidays with two of my DH's sisters. One is unmarried and the other has three children. So he and I are both the "oldest" of our generation.

As for my sister, we don't get together at holidays any more because of the distance but we do try to get together for at least two weeks a year in the summer.

Have a good trip home Noel.

I had a lovely flight until the turbulance landing in San Jose. DH picked me up and we are going to have an early dinner.

Noel,

Lost my dad when I was 34 and my mom at 38, I still miss them terribly, every day!:sad1:

DD didn't know her Granpa too well as she was 8 months old when he passed away, but he loved her to bits and I think that she kept him alive longer than he would have been.:cutie:

My mom and DD were very close, even though she was only 4 1/2 when her Oohma passed away. She still thinks of her often and calls them both her angels on her shoulders!

DD's dad passed away a year and a half ago and we are not close to DD's mom (witch, did I say that outloud?)

My Sister's is my daughter's best friend and lives right behind us!! So special!!

John, Kaylee, Noel and anyone else you needs them (including the children that Julie told us about) - prayers, and :wizard: to all of you. I think you guys are amazing people, and I know that you are being watched over.

LOVE all the pics and stories about the 4 legged friends. I am pet-less at this point, but if I end up getting a job working from home, will probably get a kitty.

Holly - you crack me up with your posts...thanks for your sense of humor (Karen - I also love your comments by your name). Also wanted to let you know that I think you're doing a great job w/ Tyler, and it's fantastic to see you & your ex (and new stepmom) putting him 1st.

Kari - congrats on the 10,000 post! WTG!

Went and saw "Wild Hogs" this weekend w/ some friends - not a great movie, but I laughed alot more than I expected too....I was worried that all the laughs would be what you saw in the preview.

I have my 1st weigh in tomorrow since I decided to really tackle my weight problem....wish me luck!

First I want to let ya'll know we're sending out good wishes and bright blessings for everyone in need. (just here to spread the DIS love, ya know?)

So, Mekayla wants to see Wicked...if ya'll have been reading my posts, you know this. So, while I was online looking for tickets in Chicago (family lives there) and Los Angeles (closer to us than Chicago) I sent Mekayla out to go get the mail. She comes back in and there's a letter from school. Apparently I have taken my child out of school for 16 days this year and Oregon law only allows for 8. LOL:lmao: Guess two week long cruises in a five month period were too much. She's in fourth grade and an "A" student, so until middle and high school, I am not freaked out about her attendance. Anyways, I read the letter, threw it away and closed the priceline airfare web page. :lmao: :rotfl2: Guess we didn't need to go on a three day trip next month after all.:wizard:

She comes back in and there's a letter from school. Apparently I have taken my child out of school for 16 days this year and Oregon law only allows for 8. LOL:lmao: Guess two week long cruises in a five month period were too much. She's in fourth grade and an "A" student, so until middle and high school, I am not freaked out about her attendance. Anyways, I read the letter, threw it away and closed the priceline airfare web page. :lmao: :rotfl2: Guess we didn't need to go on a three day trip next month after all.:wizard:

I'm a Sagitarius, I can't help it, I have wunderlust.....:wizard:

Thanks for the good wishes and bright blessing from a fellow wanderlust suffering Sagittariu!!

Holly - you crack me up with your posts...thanks for your sense of humor (Karen - I also love your comments by your name). Also wanted to let you know that I think you're doing a great job w/ Tyler, and it's fantastic to see you & your ex (and new stepmom) putting him 1st.

I have my 1st weigh in tomorrow since I decided to really tackle my weight problem....wish me luck!

I just wanted to tell Holly... I know what mishoe01 means. You put a smile :) on my face everytime I check in to see whats up. I don't always have time to post but just reading your post makes me laugh. I will be reading at work and laugh out load and my assistant says "your reading that Disney thing again aren't you". So thanks for you being you.:thumbsup2

mishoe01...good luck on your weigh in. Are you doing Weight Watchers. That's what I'm doing. I have now lost 35.8 lbs. It is do able So you go girl. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am sending prayers to Noel, John1 and Kaylee.:grouphug:

Has anyone ever tried (or heard of ) Zumba?? I'm really curious about it. I love the Walk away the pounds tapes, and probably should just get off my tush and do those, but would maybe like to try some thing new and up beat.

Venetia - I ended up trying NutriSystem to kick start me....need help and motivation to see something come off, and also to teach me portion control again. I have not lost weight in so long, that I need help to keep me going. Congrats to you on your weight loss.... :worship: May I follow in your footsteps ;)

I have the Wanderlust too!! I live for my trips, and need to do atleast 1 a year (as long as I can afford it, that is!)

Kaylee-I'm sorry to hear this news! It's so hard when children so young are involved-it makes it twice as painful!

:offtopic: DH Grumpy John wants me to post the news that happened at my house today....We have a genuine .50 ctw diamond puppy. While we were having a snuggle fest today, Angel popped up and bit my ear. Afterwards I found that my right earring, a .50 ctw diamond small hoop, was missing. Couldn't find it anywhere....puppy must have swallowed it! We're hoping this too shall pass!

So ya going to be digging through some poop....that should be interesting to watch popcorn:: (just kidding)!!

Is this the WB thread????

What happened to the days of 2 pages a day ????

Anyway, so far so good with dad . . .

Today things looked much better, and he is in good spirits. They gave him two units of blood, and medication to clear and disolve the clots. The doctor said that other than what he came to the hospital for, for an almost 85 year old man, he is in fairly good health. If the clots get resolved and they do not find any other issues, he could come home in a few days.

Well, only 25 or so pages to catch up on - I won't comment unless absolutely necessary.

Are you a real or fake blond. I have brown hair no dying with grey (need a serious tint job) but still act like I could be a true one. Sorry to offend any natural blonds out there where ever you are!:r P.S this was the first time I put color on my hair. It was only because of the grey. I know live a little! My smilies got taken out when I edited. J.K about the blond jokes.

Real blond, but sorry if I offended anyone. I'm getting more and more grey by the day, however. I think it's time for highlights to camoflauge the grey.

Tina

ahhh...Harry Potter.....

how will it all end??? i know Dumbledore is dead because his portrait showed up in the Headmaster's office.

I think he will live! Though I can see the appeal to an author to "kill" off a character to prevent imitators.

I'll start re-reading all the books probably around the middle of June. I always re-read then before the next release.

Harry Potter

That is something I need to get into. I have never read a book. My DD has only read one. I will have to start reading them.

Aruba

Has anyone thought about what they are going to do in Aruba? Did the other repos stop there?

Am I on the RIGHT Thread?????

Is this the WB thread????

What happened to the days of 2 pages a day ????

Anyway, so far so good with dad . . .

Today things looked much better, and he is in good spirits. They gave him two units of blood, and medication to clear and disolve the clots. The doctor said that other than what he came to the hospital for, for an almost 85 year old man, he is in fairly good health. If the clots get resolved and they do not find any other issues, he could come home in a few days.

Well, only 25 or so pages to catch up on - I won't comment unless absolutely necessary.

John,
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hope all is well now. Lisa

Harry & David's... mmmmmmm... love it!! Talk about a great high tea!!:cool1:

Love it!! (Did I say that already...)

Exactly!!

I'm a Tri Delt!! Beta Nu 102!! That was so many years ago......I still stay in touch with about 10 of my Sorority Sisters!!

Alpha Xi Delta here......but I would wager I spent more time at the PIKE or ATO house than my own, I even had Monday night class so I wouldn't have to go to chapter. Terrible I know~~!

Delta Gamma here, SJSU....that was a great idea to avoid chapter why didn't I think of that? Are you guys active with your alum groups? We just have a new group started here in the last few years, I've tried to get into it, but many conflicts due to other things....life, kids, girl scouts, boy scouts....maybe later in life. Oh ya, Pike little sis too.

Hi guys,

Well, yesterday I got a call from where my dad goes for physical therapy that he had passed out while there, and they called 911. So I spent a good part of the day and evening at the hospital yesterday. Dad is in good spirits, and is stable, but they have discovered a clot in each leg, low blood count, and fluid on his heart and his lungs (congestive heart failure). He is now in the coronary unit of our local hospital.

I am optimistic that dad will be fine, and that he is under good care.

We are hopeful for a good prognosis, and hopeful to still leave for a week on Friday.

Glad to hear Dad is getting better, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Noel, sorry to hear of your loss. Please tell DH too.

Life has taken over for me lately and will for the rest of the week, I'll be lurking as I can..ta ta

Hey everyone,

Do you like all of the stuff that DH added in our signature? After all, this is HIS login!!!:thumbsup2

He wants to know how he can get the ship in the ticker? Any advice? John?:confused3

We were at a great winemaker dinner tonight at one of our Benicia restaurants. It was with Sausal Winery, one of the oldest wineries with some of the oldest vineyards in the state.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Excellent dinner! Really good pairings!! Very full now, however!! ;)

Karen, can you adopt me? Then I could tag along with you to all your winemaker dinners....sounds like the next best place to be if you're not on Mickey's ship. It may be work to you, but it sounds way like pleasure to me.....

I LOVE your new signature....DH did great work!:cheer2:

Deb,

Yes, it's a tough job, but someone has to do it!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I actually got inspired and updated the signature even more!! I put the DVC properties side by side to save room and added the WDW and DL stuff as well as the upcoming cruises. :thumbsup2

I'm not OCD or anything... really... I'm not...;)

Karen, do you plan on doing World before your next cruise. I'm doing a Halloween 4 night and I'll be in World on Nov 1 and 2. If you plan on going there before your cruise and will get there early enough, we should do a miniDISmeet. :cheer2:

I see that you've already done a 4 night. What did you do in Atlantis?:goodvibes

Deb,

We are actually planning to do WDW for a week after the cruise. Sorry about the timing! :sad2:

We did not do anything in Atlantis. It was not that intersting at the time, and they didn't come up with as many cool ways of seeing it until the following year!:confused3
