How about a "Rum Swizzle". After a couple of those you
start "seeing double and feeling single".:bounce:

My favorite drink was the Bonvoyage drink they served at the sail away party. I ordered it the whole week. I believe it was 1/2 strawberry daqueri and 1/2 pina colada. I have tried to duplicate it but nothing comes close. Can't wait for my Western Carribean cruise Oct. 12, 2002 for my next drink.

The Miami Vice! I not sure exactly what was in it but it tasted like a combo of pina colada and daquiri (sp?). It was a specialty drink one night.

Any drink with rum and of course any free drink
When I cruised on NCL in Dec I had to think before hand of what liquor I would be drinking most of since I dont like mixing my liquors. I brought a pint of rum along with me so I stuck with rum drinks for the cruise.
Will do so again this Nov when DH, DS and I cruise on the Disney Magic! DH will have his vodka and kahlua.

Oh boy!!! I think I better start making a list. ;) :D
OK I have to ask....what is in a Konk Cooler?
DisneyKids
03-21-2002, 08:52 AM
It's a rum drink that resembles a pina colada with a pinapple flavor, as well. It's served frozen. We had our share as we enjoyed the sunshine on Castaway Cay.
...ok...now I'm day dreaming...

Can you tell me if the non alcoholic smoothies that were mentioned are free at dinner or do you pay for that just like an
alcoholic drink?
Thanks

How 'bout a non-alcoholic beer Michelle? They really are not too bad. I only drink water or tea or wine, hate sweet stuff. When I was pregnant I would "splurge" on non-alcoholic beer. Bit salty if you cry in it too much though. Best to limit salt intake too, or is that salt output? Or out-put re-in-taken.

Here is another vote for the Konk Cooler! Although the ones you order on Castaway are better than the ones you can get on the ship - they are still WONDERFUL!

My choice is ALL DRINKS ON A CRUISE ARE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sue, here's a dissenting opinion on the Konk Kooler/Conch Cooler -- I didn't care for it. (I know a lot of people like it! That's great! I didn't). It's more like a dessert than a drink. It's frozen, thick, creamy, very, very, very sweet. We ordered two, right off the bat when the drink person came around on Castaway Cay. We should have ordered one first, to try it. Ended up throwing both away.
But if you like it, great! And shortly before departure time from CC they start selling the Coolers 2 for 1. Hope you have a great trip!

In the atrium Sunday evening before dinner (Captains Gala). They also served free drinks Thursday in the atrium before dinner, although I'm not sure that always happens. It might have been due to the fire that moring.

I found my Navigator and this is how the describe a "konk Kooler"
Light & dark rum, orange juice, passion fruit & coconut cream. $4.50 or $6.50 in souvenir glass.

That's easy. The one I make for myself after dinner every night at the milk station on the upper deck. (1) Take one cup. The largest available. (2) Fill the bottom third with ice. (3) Fill the middle third with milk. (4) And top to the brim with coffee. There's nothing better to drink while strolling around the deck under the stars. Enjoy!

My favorite drink on the cruise was the orange juice at the Palo's brunch. I like my orange juice with pulp, and this juice was loaded with pulp. It was the best glass of orange juice I ever had.

DEFINITELY the drink that's half strawberry daiquiri and half pina colada. I can't recall the exact name; I believe it's a Volcano something---not only delicious to drink but delightful to look at!
