Do certain rooms/hotels ever fill up b/c of free dining? how quickly must one jump pnce free dining dates are released?? Is it really busy during those dates?

just letting curiousity go here...it's a moot point for me, seeing as I'm planning a Jan. trip. I would love to have a free dining week!! That's a neat thing Disney offers!!:thumbsup2

They don't offer free dining to cover all rooms at all resorts. There are a limited number of rooms offered at each resort on the promotion. For example, if you want Pop Century, you may be able to call after the promotion is announced and get a promotion package at Pop Century. If you wait too long, they could sell out of promotion rooms at Pop Century. There'd still be availability at the resort, just not with the promotion.

Just because the promotion rooms sell out doesn't mean all the resorts are completely sold out.

We booked in early May last year and easily got CBR, exactly what we requested. Looks like we were about a month into the Free Dining offer period.

In 2006, we waited until June to book the trip and were able to get exactly what we wanted with regard to our room... POR and even building 15. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It was so awesome for our fam of 5 that we knew if they offered it again we'd probably do it. In 2007, we booked in April because we wanted to make sure we had that terrific experience all over again. Since we have the Disney VISA, we were able to book within the 3 day window before it was offered to the general public. So we're hoping to be able to do that again this year. <<fingers crossed>>

That said, TDC Nala is correct about there only being so many rooms per resort allocated to free dining. So, when those run out... well, "the jig is up" as they say.
