Stormalong Bay slide closed 5/5-5/11!!!

:mad: Received a letter today stating that the Stormalong Bay slide will be closed 5/5-5/11!!! We will be there from 5/3-5/11. We have waited a long time to stay here and now this?!? We are waitlisted for our trip in the fall to be moved over to BCV so we can enjoy the pool and slide fully! Kinda late notice, don't ya think? I am so mad I could spit!

ive not been to stormqalong bay yet (we go next week) but the pool area is huge.. i cant imagine not having the slide will make that much difference....

It will if you are a 9 or 7 year old who gets to stare at a fantastic slide that is closed! My boys live on the pool slides at the resorts where we stay.

Even Disney can't predict all of its maintenance needs 6+ months ahead of time. IMO, the best thing you can do is take those lemons and make lemonade--set a good example for the kids.

SAB still has a LOT to do. And if they want to take a few trips down a water slide, pool hop over to the BoardWalk. It will take you about 5-7 minutes to walk over.

Maybe you could get out there the first two days and let them just swim and slide their little hearts out. You really don't see the slide much from the pool area, since it crosses the outside walking path and the entrance is on the beach area outside of the pool. The only thing you see from the pool is the opening that you come out into the pool. And it is all the way on one end of the pool area. Be glad that they warned you. Now you can prepare for it.
