Besides, this is a family game. What are you going to do? Sing the real versions of all the songs?
Boys are good. Thanks for askin'. How's your clan?
YAY!
The above post has been edited for accuracy.
Ummmm...
Go Rangers! Go Aces!
We're all healthy thank you. Kids have 2 more months of school. Johnna is preparing her religion class for their First Communion this weekend. I'm working as usual. My tulips are all blooming at once so I'm happy:)

These wouldn't happen to be the style of shoes you're talkin' about Terri?
That reminds me of this past Saturday morning...
So I was at my daughters cheer gym at 9:00AM and in walks this mid 40 year old lady. Wearing super tight jeans, with a black studded belt, super tight T-***** (with enhanced you know whats...) a black leather jacket, very blond perfectly done hair and way too much make up. (Keep in mind it is early Sat. am). And yes, no joking, heals like this on.
Again, keep in mind, this is WISCONSIN. No one dresses like that. All of us frumpy, normal, no make up wearing, hair in pony tails and wearing sweats moms, were all stunned into complete silence. Come on now...who is she trying to impress? UGH! That sad thing is that I felt sorry for her, if you have to try that hard and enhance yourself so much, you have to have some serious issues right?? At least she was probably a size 2, so she did have that much going for her...

Alicia doesn't wear anything above an inch or so in heel height. And her preferred foot wear is generally like these pictured below:
http://www.cedarcreekquiltdesigns.com/images/792_flip.jpg
Same here. I did try to find some flip flops that were somewhat decorative so I could wear them to work. I also asked my doctor to write a note to my boss saying that I couldn't wear normal shoes. Didn't work, but I tried!!!
I hate wearing shoes at all, so flip flops are second best.

Heaven forbid. For missing Mass, no problem. Dispensation granted. But for a chance to separate a buck or two from your wallet in BINGO? No dispensation is available for that.

My e-mail this afternoon:
Quote:
Gentlemen:
Attached is an e-mail and response from February of this year. At that time I was concerned about DCL's ability to handle the May 19, 2008 excursion booking of both the 8/17/08 Magic Repositioning Cruise and the 8/17/08 Wonder Cruise. Since that time, you have made a significant change to your website which has not provided any assurance of improvement. In fact, your website has come to a complete stop in many regards.
At this time, I am unable to add or delete excursions from my wish list. As I understand it, no one can add or delete to their wish list. As such, I will be unable to quickly access preferred excursions when the booking window opens up. Coupled with the fact that you will have two very full ships competing for this inadequate computer system, I am fearful that many will come away with a very bad Disney experience on May 19.
What steps are being taken by DCL to remedy this situation?
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
DCL Response:
Quote:
4/22/08
Dear Tom:
Thank you again for your e-mail.
I have shared your continued concern for our website with the
appropriate management teams. Maintenance is currently underway in
regard to the wish list function you mentioned in this current email.
This functionality should be restored within 48 to 72 hours.
Additionally, I can assure you all appropriate team members are aware
and prepared for the opening of pre-reservations for both the Disney
Wonder and the Disney Magic August 17 sailings.
Thank you again for your concern. We look forward to sailing with you
in August.
Sincerely,
Rebekah

Tom
do you have an email already typed and ready to go when the system crashes on May 19th at 12:10am?
You know, if we all act like adults and do this reasonably, there would be no reason for the system to crash.
So, I propose the following solution.
We log on in five minute intervals beginning at midnight. If everyone has their information ready to plot in, the five minutes should be enough time.
That way there will be less aggravation.
Of course, since I am the first to propose this solution, I also recommend that I get the first open slot at Midnight!!! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Love the "priest humor"..... (i was an admin secretary for a Lutheran Church for two years so can appreciate it...Although we didn't have bingo at that congregation.)
I'm guessing we could also ask DCL for space on Saturday evening also if that works better. (since after sunset is sunday in the church world)
Had to call my own pastor on his sermon last Sunday morning... He said he recently got a brand new gas grill and needed instructions to put it together and then used the analogy of God needing to give us instructions at times too...
SO after mass i went up to him and asked "When the "cookout" was?" and he had to admit he made up the grill thing....;)

Is it just me, or does it look like the wrong castle on the LA pin?
Oh and booking night...can I get a volunteer to be on speed dial for DH? He may be on his own and this is all really going to throw him.
I am really pushing for my work trip to not start until Monday morning, but if I succeed Monday should be even more evil than usual. I'll have to get up early, drive to north-central PA, hop on a bike and ride 50 or so miles. Good times.

Question: There was DIS talk of a $5 per person tax hike on Mexican ports a few weeks, months or years ago...not sure when...unless you were PIF by 8pm whatever that evening was. I never received any official notice from my TA or DCL regarding these charges. Has anyone who is not PIF actually seen these charges added to their account? I've been making payments, but nothing has been added to my invoice and was concerned that when I make the final payment, I would think I was PIF, but not be because of the new taxes.

The $5 tax was never added to my ressie and we PIF'd last week, well after the deadline.

As near as I can tell from here and other boards, it hasn't been added to anyone's bill. However, I have also seen comments that they have in past added stuff like that to your on board account, not sure of the reliability of that tho....
I would suggest that you don't point out to DCL that they forgot....
Remember all their key employees are aware and prepared!
Can you buy those online or are they just previews of what will be available on the ship? How do you find all these things...?
Please Note:
Guests sailing on this special cruise should reference on-board communication regarding the release of this pin. We will be utilizing a "Random Selection Process" previously introduced during other special Disney Cruise Lineฎ Voyages.
This pin will not be available via Walt Disney Worldฎ Mail Order.
All information is subject to change including but not limited to artwork, release dates, edition sizes and retail prices
They are all limited editions of 1,000 per pin, except the special cruise pins, the regular pin is 1,500 and the jumbo is 750
So not even enough for one per cabin....

The $5 tax was never added to my ressie and we PIF'd last week, well after the deadline.
Congratulations on the PIF Lorri!
As near as I can tell from here and other boards, it hasn't been added to anyone's bill. However, I have also seen comments that they have in past added stuff like that to your on board account, not sure of the reliability of that tho....
I would suggest that you don't point out to DCL that they forgot....
Point what out? :cool2:
I did get an official email from my travel agent about the increase...but haven't even looked at the amount due.
Thanks.

I asked my TA about the Mexican port fees and she hasn't heard anything about it. So for us I guess it is wait and see. We are getting ready to be PIF next week so it will have plenty of time to clear before May 19th...so I can party all night with the rest of you.:lmao: I may have to figure out chat so we can share our frustrations. I haven't checked my wish list lately so I am not sure if it is working or not. I did have all the ones I (I mean we) ;) decided on listed there so hopefully it will be working again and I can access to make it go more quickly.:rotfl2: I have already asked for the morning off and I think I will make DH stay up with me. I am not a night owl and am afraid I will nod off at my laptop and miss the whole thing. I am sure we will all be able to log in quickly, get the reservations we want and go to bed by 1 PM.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Any one who has ever been in Chat with me at the same time knows the above means I am doomed. :)
I contend DCL made up the stupid extra port fees to get us all idiots to PIF earlier. Maybe they were short making payroll and needed an influx of quick cash. :lmao:

My feet prefer CROCS!!!!
Alicia just bought some of these CROC things. Of course, I don't know how she likes em'... as I'm STILL waiting to find out how she likes her MTB or whatever shoes .... you remember? Those $300 Masi walking shoes that supposedly give your toosh a workout as you walk! < wink > Lets' see if I can google up an image....
http://www.instablogsimages.com/images/2007/11/30/mtb-shoes_7447.jpg
http://www.truthaboutabs.com/images/cms/Image/joeyatlas.jpg
With the list of benefits the pricey MBT footwear promises, it's tempting to think they are too good to be true. With a uniquely designed lifted, curvy heel that forces your foot to roll forward, MBTs are by far the clunkiest body–improvement shoes out there—and the most costly, at around $250 a pop. Naturally, they are beloved by an increasingly long list of celebs. Despite having the sex appeal of a set of grandpa's false teeth soaking in a glass of water, MBTs are catching on. The idea behind the technology is to simulate the effect that the Masai people (who are known to have fabulous posture) experience as they roll forward while walking on sandy soil, ironically, barefooted.
http://thebeautybrains.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/butt.jpg
We bought her pairs (yeah - she has two) off ebay for a fraction of the cost ... however, I have YET to see her wearing them? Of course, I'm NOT really the sort to stare at her shoes. You suppose if I were to EBAY her shoes - you figure she'd even notice they're gone? :goodvibes

You should have picked up your present at the airport last week, I sent it direct from here by air freight from BA Terminal Five, via Milan in Italy, and after staying on the beach for a week in 100c sun, it was then sent to you via Phoenix Arizona to LAX, and is still awaiting your collection.

I guarantee you if I started running in the end-of-August sun, I'd drop in 30 seconds. And then several crew members would have to try to pick me up to transport me.

Do you mean Posh Spice attended the cheer gym class?!?!?

Mini Pirate Cruise Journal Update
Yay! We have volunteers! But we need more.
A task force is working on pre-printed cruise journal pages. We're looking for volunteers to find some kid-facts and think of little pencil and paper-type activities for kids for each port/sea day.
I will .pdf and post all the pages separately, so people can print the ones they want. No need for volunteers to design pages, just send me the info.
If you replied that you would like to help, but didnt pick a port, just let me know what you would like to do and I will update. (Chrissie, Erin & Poohsmum, that means you!:))
Here is what we have/need so far:
8/17 Embarkation M. (sk8ingmom)

I just got off of the phone with Disney Weddings...I have been informed that my vow renewal is the 18th (which is okay) but..at 5:30 p.m.! I have early seating. I am not going to Palo that night as we have a DD11 and I would like to celebrate with my family and DD. I told her that we have early seating...she said that there is only a 4:00 p.m. and a 5:30 (takes about an hour)..I said I would like the 4:00 p.m. She informed me that it was taken. I asked what I could do..she said nothing! I asked if I could speak to someone..she said it was decided at DCL..I said I would call them..she said that it wouldn't change anything. She will req. a 4:00 for me but I won't know until the cruise :scared1:
I called DCL ..they said the time is decided by Disney Weddings! :sad2: and that if I missed dinner..I could eat at the buffet! Just picture me..wedding dress..DH tuxedo..and daughter all dressed up in line at the buffet...
Anyways..I know..I should be happy I am on the cruise but with what the vow renewal is costing us..I would have liked to celebrate with my family at dinner and not in the buffet line.
thanks for letting me vent!

Anyways..I know..I should be happy I am on the cruise but with what the vow renewal is costing us..I would have liked to celebrate with my family at dinner and not in the buffet line.
thanks for letting me vent!

.... I bet the Rest manager for your rotation could arrange a one time swap of dining venue for you if the vow renewal ends up in conflict. If not - then just tap the doors to a couple dozen of your DIS neighbors and we'll form an "angry mob" to go back and request an adjustment for you!
http://blogs.cisco.com/gov/angry%20man.jpg
And if that doesn't work then I'd be happy to SWAP tables with your family so you can get a later dining opportunity. Assuming they would allow that! Of course, this may mean you'd get an evening to dine with my BIL and FIL!.... < wink >

Hey Desiree...
You're part of our group right? We will be requesting the 6pm seating.
So even if you arrive at 6:30...You have a few days to "warn the wait staff" and i'm sure they can work something out... You may have to choose your meals quickly but it might be able to be done....
Or i'll run down or up (depending on if you're deck 7 or in the lounge) a menu for you to order off of...

We went to DL on Monday and found our embarkation ears! They are pirate Mickey ears with the POC logo on the front! Matches our shirts! :woohoo:
of course..at first I said..I'll get them next time I come but then common sense hit me on the head (thank goodness) and we purchased them! FYI - if anyone is interested in them..I only saw them at the pirate store outside of POC. I asked the cast member if they would have them for awhile (they were getting a little low) and she said she had no idea :confused3
If you really want them..let me know and I will pick them up for you.. they are $15.00 each and have two one-size-fits-all sizes.. Youth and Adult.

I am curious what the additional research will be.....
In this case I expect they have to contact the Vatican and find out if holding a Mass onboard would represent a potential violation of their trademark or intellectual property. I'm sure after a quick review by their legal department everything will work out magically (except, of course, for those who believe anything magic is actually satanic, in which case I apologize for my choice of words).

I just got offf with DCL and actually got an answer. The buses from LAX to the port will be leaving at 9 am or until filled to San Pedro!!!:thumbsup2 I might not even have to go back to LAX from my Marriott Hotel. Looks like the bus will pick us up there!!:woohoo: The CM read me the entire information given to him.:woohoo:
I was also told they are aware of all the problems on the web site. It will take about two more weeks til all the problems are solved. We can only hope!!!:worship: :worship:
Being in the software business, I can translate the phrase "about two more weeks til all the problems are solved".
In English it roughtly translates into "don't hold your breath, we have serious doubts that it will ever work correctly."
Seriously, that is one of the funniest comments I've ever heard from DCL, as I have never met any piece of software where the statement "all the problems are solved" was even remotely close to the truth.

To be fair, it's quite possible that they haven't finalized the entertainment yet. For one thing, (hopefully) they will learn a thing or two from the westbound and we'll benefit from that. I'm sure even if they do have someone booked they might not want to commit - as they might change their minds about someone. For all we know they might be trying out different people during the summer cruises and will indeed be looking for something special (all those sea days).
You're probably right though.
At the same time, I don't really want to know. Half the fun of each evening is digging through the Navigator and figuring out what's up the next day.

None here.
Those are cool, aren't they? I went and scoped them out last night after reading the somewhat contentious thread on the main board.
Do you have the link?

Hey, I am working on the last bug in a program right now. It is the 17th last bug I have been working on. Today.

If I only had the $$$ for the bills.....
On a simplistic level, Tom... here's some moola for your bills...
... on another deeper level - can you find WHAT is different in ONE panel of this image sequence?
http://www.csc.ncsu.edu/faculty/healey/PP/movies/Money.gif
In reference to the image blinking above and at bottom (find the annomaly in the blinking sequence of 10 images)...
Change Blindness
Recent research in visualization has explored ways to apply rules of perception to produce images that are visually salient [Ware 2000]. This work is based in large part on psychophysical studies of the low-level human visual system. One of the most important lessons of the past twenty-five years is that human vision does not resemble the relatively faithful and largely passive process of modern photography [Pomerantz & Pristach 89, Treisman 85, Treisman & Gormican, Wolfe 94, Wolfe et al. 2000]. The goal of human vision is not to create a replica or image of the seen world in our heads. A much better metaphor for vision is that of a dynamic and ongoing construction project, where the products being built are short-lived models of the external world that are specifically designed for the current visually guided tasks of the viewer [Egeth & Yantis 97, Mack & Rock 98, Rensink 2000, Simons 2000]. There does not appear to be any general purpose vision. What we "see" when confronted with a new scene depends as much on our goals and expectations as it does on the array of light that enters our eyes.
These new findings differ from one of the initial ideas of preattentive processing, that only certain features in an image are recognized without the need for focused attention, and that other features cannot be detected, even when viewers actively search for these exact features. More recent work in preattentive vision has presented evidence to suggest that this strict dichotomy does not hold. Instead, "visible" or "not visible" represent two ends of a continuous spectrum. Issues like the difference between a target's visual features and its neighbours' features, what a viewer is searching for, and how the image is presented can all have an effect on search performance. For example, Wolfe's guided search theory assumes both bottom-up (i.e., preattentive) and top-down (i.e., attention-based) activation of features in an image [Wolfe & Cave 89, Wolfe et al. 89, Wolfe 94]. Other researchers like Treisman have also studied the dual effects of preattentive and attention-driven demands on what the visual system sees [Treisman 91, Treisman & Souther 86]. Wolfe's discussion of postattentive vision also points to the fact that details of an image cannot be remembered across separate scenes except in areas where viewers have focused their attention [Wolfe et al. 2000].
New research in psychophysics has shown that an interruption in what is being seen (e.g., a blink, an eye saccade, or a blank screen) renders us "blind" to significant changes that occur in the scene during the interruption. This change blindness phenomena can be illustrated using a task similar to a game that has amused children reading the comic strips for many years [Mack & Rock 98, Rensink 2000, Simons 2000]. Fig. 11 contains ten Quicktime movies that loop over and over; each movie is made up of two separate images with a short blank interval separating them. A significant change occurs between the two images. Run the movies and try to locate the change. Many viewers have a difficult time seeing any difference and often have to be coached to look carefully to find it. Once they discover it, they realize that the difference was not a subtle one. Change blindness is not a failure to see because of limited visual acuity; rather, it is a failure based on inappropriate attentional guidance. Some parts of the eye and the brain are clearly responding differently to the two pictures. Yet, this does not become part of our visual experience until attention is focused directly on the objects that vary.
The presence of change blindness in our visual system has important implications for visualization. The images we produce are normally novel for our viewers, so prior expectations cannot be used to guide their analyses. Instead, we strive to direct the eye, and therefore the mind, to areas of interest or importance within a visualization. This ability forms the first step towards enabling a viewer to abtract details that will persist over subsequent images.
Dan Simons offers a wonderful overview of change blindness in his introduction to the Visual Cognition special issue on change blindness and visual memory [Simons 2000]. We provide a brief summary of his list of possible explanations for why change blindness occurs in our visual system. Interestingly, none of these explanations by themselves can account for all of the change blindness effects that have been identified. This suggests that some combination of these ideas (or some completely different hypothesis) is needed to properly model this phenomena.

Sorry....
... i wuz looking for livin' up to my label of the day with Tom31... troublemaker... and as such I picked an animated "curve ball" of sorts fer chuckles.
At any rate, I was wondering if anyone wants a used Neptune washing machine? My spouse just replaced ours with one of those fancy LG steam models. Out neptune is not spinning or draining - but tomorrow I'm gonna try and fix it. One of the staffers my spouse ran across was an ex-repair person ... and they were fairly certainof what the problem was - a clogged water pump line that represents an easy fix. Alas, even with this knowledge for an easy fix - she learned this info AFTER she had ordered the LG... and she has been coveting a new washer for some time now. As shes' been talking about it - but only recently had an excuse to get the new washer.
SO - if anyone is interested - it's FREE... only you have to sort of pick it up from Westlake Village. I kno... like, right... you'll be right over in a couple days to pick up.
Oh yeah... the Neptune is 11 years old too.. something to consider. Seriously, Alicia had in mind to donate it or give it away ... figuring on it being worth something to somebody. I think it was near $1 grand when she bought it 11 years ago.

Desiree :bride:
I hope it all works out OK for you. So far I've been less than impressed with Disney Weddings.
My turn for DCL email......
I sent them a email ??? some of the entertainment. We saw Taylor Mason on our last cruise (comedien, puppeteer, ventriloquist guy) The kids LOVED his show. They are asking me if they get to see Paco the pig again on this cruise, so I figured let me ask (I guess I should have known better) Here is my response:
4/23/08 Dear Maureen, Thank you for choosing another Disney Cruise Line Vacation! I'm so happy to hear that Ryan and Devin had such a great time on their last cruise. At this time we are still finalizing all the entertainment offerings forour Eastbound Panama Canal Cruise in August. All I am going to say is that lots of new and fun options are being planned! Since these offerings can change at any time, please check your PersonalNavigator once onboard for the daily entertainment schedules. I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to welcoming your family aboard the Disney Magic! AngelaReservations DepartmentDisney Cruise Vacations
At least Angela personalized her response bu adding my kids names (I did not provide, just my ressie#) so at least she took the time to look up the information.
Basically I read.....my translation of response............you will know the entertainment schedule when you read your navigator and not a second before so dont bother asking.
At least Angela is hoping that this information has been helpful.

Here are a few pictures from today. I volunteered to host a Strawberry Pie making demo for the pre-school kids in Kaleas' class. This week was a taste perception themed week ... so the strawberry thing was good - especially since Alicia had picked up a flat of strawberries from central coast and the season is just starting up.
I made sure every child in the class got to do something - from pouring the bananna filling mix - to stirring the mix and milk - pouring the filling into the pie pans - scooping strawberries - pouring the glaze - then spraying the whipped cream on top! It was truly great fun hosting this for the kids... and afterwards, her teacher thanked me for coming in while saying I was one of a few parents consistently volunteer special diversions in the classroom - and it was appreciated. Besides - before our teacher came in she said she started the day in a "funk" and my activity brought her spirits up! :goodvibes

The finished pies had a rough appearance to them since they were somewhat made by the hands of the kids - but they sure tasted wonderful!
The owner of the school came by and in a friendly tone asked what the occassion was that I brought in the special activity - and I replied there was NO special reason - to which she replied "those were the BEST types of occassions"! < wink >

SELF-REFERENTIAL APTITUDE TEST,
by Jim Propp (propp@math.wisc.edu)
The solution to the following puzzle is unique; in some cases the
knowledge that the solution is unique may actually give you a short-cut
to finding the answer to a particular question, but it's possible to
find the unique solution even without making use of the fact that the
solution is unique. (Thanks to Andy Latto for bringing this subtlety
to my attention.)I should mention that if you don't agree with me about the answer to #20,
you will get a different solution to the puzzle than the one I had in mind.

G'mornin' pirate:s
Today is my Friday. Yay. Tomorrow morning we drive to Cleveland for the weekend.
Excursions, etc.
We're not booking any DCL excursions, so all I have to do on the 19th is Palo dinner & brunch and a massage. Of course, I have no idea when to book dinner because of the nonanswers we are getting about formal & pirate nights. Brunch and massage are easier, I just have to hope that I don't have either one during Wenches Tea or one of our tastings - we signed up for the lush package!
Here's what we're doing:
Cabo - private charter sailboat
PV - non-DCL zip line with this crazy crew
Acapulco - wander around by ourselves, maybe try to see the divers from the secret non-excursion location I've read about
Cartagena - on our own (gasp! shock! horror!) Let's just say DH is way more comfortable in a Central/South American country than your average tourist, plus we may have our own personal tourguide. We have a friend at the embassy. He may be transferred before we get there, but we can at least get the down low from him
Aruba - Jolly Roger's Jolly Pirates
Castaway - lounging and rugby!
[CENTER]On a simplistic level, Tom... here's some moola for your bills...

OMG, that was a bit much at 6 am. :faint:

ahh yes, Old Hickory
Here are a few pictures from today. I volunteered to host a Strawberry Pie making demo for the pre-school kids in Kaleas' class. This week was a taste perception themed week ... so the strawberry thing was good - especially since Alicia had picked up a flat of strawberries from central coast and the season is just starting up.
Too cute, Tom! Reminds me of my days as the official Apple Crisp mom at DSs preschool. When we left that school, instead of individual teacher gifts, we gave the school an apple peeler/corer/slicer contraption and a baking dish.

If your DD is still over here (I quit checking in on her less they call the cops on me for stalking ;) ) there is a The Walking Company right around the corner from her store.
She and I both thought it was funny that she was never there when you went by -- as an Asst Manger she seemed to be there all the time! And no one ever told her someone was asking about her!!!
She just quit work a couple of weeks ago -- she is going to try to be a SAHW for a while. She left on good terms -- is even working for them this weekend at a job fair.
With her dh's work schedule and her work schedule they very rarely even had one day off a week together.
I odered a pair of shoes from them this week. :goodvibes I think there is a new location off of I-20 in Arlington.

(Keep in mind it is early Sat. am). And yes, no joking, heals like this on.
...
I wonder how early she had to get up for that? That would be way too much work for me! :rotfl: :rotfl: That and I only where flats....I hate tight clothes.....I don't mind dressing/looking my age (mids 40's).
But, I am totally happy with myself -- and all my original parts! :rotfl2:

We originally put in for a cat 3 but our TA fumbled that first day of booking so we're GTY for a cat 4. I heard it's hard to get upgraded to those catagories, unless someone dies.
We got a Cat 3 a couple of months ago.... Our TA called all the time..... She felt bad for messing up on booking day -- she booked me on the May repo!!! And if I hadn't seen her about 3pm that day and mentioned how excited we were to sail in August.....
Of course getting a Cat 3 this late in the game meant we are paying close to douple in price from the Cat 4!!! :scared1: I would have stuck with the 4 but, dh wanted the 3.

We got a Cat 3 a couple of months ago.... Our TA called all the time..... She felt bad for messing up on booking day -- she booked me on the May repo!!! And if I hadn't seen her about 3pm that day and mentioned how excited we were to sail in August.....
Were you on the thread that day? I remember it happening to someone.
That was also the origin of Andy's "I would poop a brick" comment.

I wonder how early she had to get up for that? That would be way too much work for me! :rotfl: :rotfl: That and I only where flats....I hate tight clothes.....I don't mind dressing/looking my age (mids 40's).
But, I am totally happy with myself -- and all my original parts! :rotfl2:
You know, it is possible she had never gone to bed the night before. Maybe those were her "Friday Night Party Clothes".
(I actually once walked into a Saturday morning gymnastics recital in shirt and tie. I'd come from a late business dinner straight to an airplane and straight to the recital so I wouldn't miss it. I am sure I got some odd looks from the sweatsuit-clad mommies.)

:goodvibes
[
The finished pies had a rough appearance to them since they were somewhat made by the hands of the kids - but they sure tasted wonderful!
The owner of the school came by and in a friendly tone asked what the occassion was that I brought in the special activity - and I replied there was NO special reason - to which she replied "those were the BEST types of occassions"! < wink >
Tom, that looked like so much fun!!! When my older 2 were in school (I started homeschooling when oldest ds started 4th grade & oldest dd started 1st) I just used to come in and read to the class! LOL! Pie would have been so much more fun!
I just have to say one more thing....is your dd the shortest in the class? My youngest is always the shortest in her classes. Last summer for VBS (there were 2 classes of 30 for her age) she was the shortest of both classes!
Dh is over 6' and I'm over 5'5" and she is our only *short* child -- 17 dd is a hair under 5'9".
We are just always excited to find other *short* kids! :)

You need to understand, it really stinks to be a Philadelphia team/fan/player.
It has been about 25-30 years since any of our teams have won a championship. A few teams have gone to the big game/series and bombed.
So when we win in round one, we need to celebrate like its the championship. That whole

attitude....

OMG, that was a bit much at 6 am. :faint:
Too cute, Tom! Reminds me of my days as the official Apple Crisp mom at DSs preschool. When we left that school, instead of individual teacher gifts, we gave the school an apple peeler/corer/slicer contraption and a baking dish.
Hey Lisa & M!
I had such fun playing "Circle TIme teacher" for that half hour! Plus Kalea got a kick out of seeing her Dad do stuff for her class too (I think - either that or she was embarassed beyond words!).
And, may I now offer my "in-port" plans as of this morning?
Here's what we're doing:
Cabo - Wake up in a calm panic with NO plans... then relax to go with the flow...
PV - Wake up in a calm panic with NO plans... then relax to go with the flow...
Acapulco - Wake up in a calm panic with NO plans... then relax to go with the flow...
Cartagena - Wake up in a calm panic with NO plans... then relax to go with the flow...
Aruba - Wake up in a calm panic with NO plans... then relax to go with the flow...
Castaway - Wake up in a calm panic with NO plans... then relax to go with the flow...
Seriously, we'll put something together someday - maybe the day before we arrive in port.... <wink>

Its even worse... at that point of the last championship, we had all 4 sports in the final, 3 of them winning, over a 5 year period......
I didn't boo.....
Of course, the average Philly fan wasn't booing the selection of McNabb, rather they were booing the non-selection of Ricky Williams. Now see, management didn't know what they were doing when they selected a quarterback that has taken the team to the NFC Championship many times and the Superbowl. Intead, management should have selected a running back that has had drug problems, retired early and never did much when he was playing..... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

You may recall that my spouse is a towering 4'11 size zero petite (depending on the designer / style of garment ).. and so with me being more "average" in size at 5'9 our kids are a usually among those of shorter size. However, you may recall when I asked her father for her hand in marriage - his last question was ... "... now, are you sure you can handle her?". Well... Aliciia is more than I can handle at many times - especially in a "tickle fight". Of course, winning or losing in a tickle fight depends more upon who ambushed whom first.
