Now there is a story with these pictures. You see my DH suffers from dementia and the first day the cleaning lady came to clean I had trouble getting him out of the room and she became upset till I explained about his medical condition. Every day there after she made a point of leaving him an animal or something special and he got such enjoyment out of it. Just one of the special things that happend while in our stay at RPC last May.

The Del is beautiful! DH and I are sooooo looking forward to staying at the GF in September. It's been a dream for a very long time. We have been to the Del a few times and if the GF is 1/2 as nice as the Del we'll be pleased.

Makes me want to go to Coronado this summer. ::gets nostalgic::

Thanks, guys.... it was a FUN trip.:goodvibes Crowded, but lots of fun - nice guests & great CMs, and that Easter party was so pretty. I wish I would have taken more pics of the whole area decorated with balloons and the nice coffee service they had set up. And the kids got LOTS of stuff without having to push/shove etc:rotfl: There were tons of goodies scattered.....Jojo had plenty to share with Lucy. They had not just candy out, but cute rings, bouncy balls, key chains, and more. It was just a really nice time.:wizard:

Well, after a lot of changing my mind, I've decided to return to the GF (RPC) next May for my special ladies only pampering trip (i.e. it's only me and I intend to spend most of the time around the resort and at the spa).

I stayed at RPC for the first time last December and whilst it was beautiful it was very busy/crowded.

I'm hoping early May will be a little quieter but can anyone advise what it will be like, also with my last trip being December I didn't really explore the resort, are there any places where I could soak up the sun that perhaps are a little quieter/more relaxing?

It was really set up cute and festive and nice....they had tables with silver coffee servers, juices, and muffins set up all in a central area. There was a DJ. We didn't hear what all he did, but just heard announcements while we were there. The characters alternated for pics and autographs. They had that giant Easter egg for pics and a photographer there. The egg/candy hunt was set up really nicely and separated by age groups and very well signed for that. If a kid found a gold egg - and they didn't announce this until after - they'd win a giant Easter basket filled with Disney goodies.

We left after the candy hunt, but they had crafts scheduled, pool games in the late morn-afternoon, and then some type of treasure hunt later.

All I can say is WOW! Thank you everyone for the wonderful pictures. We are in the planning stage. Showing these to my DH is going to help get us to GF.

ahhhh, that's pretty close to what i go to sleep in & wake up to every day (the comforter, bedskirt, drapes, & pillows, plus a few extra pillows shown in other pix). took a lot of time & patience (e-bay & mousesurplus warehouse), but sooooooo worth it (btw, found a few GF prints, & intend to paint a copy of the lobby tapestry for over the bed).

now if i could just figure out a way to get the same view out of my windows...;)

The GF is the best resort at WDW bar none. The service is also immpeccable. The only problem I have is that I just luv Epcot, so I prefer the resorts around Crescent Lake so I can walk to Epcot.

On this last trip in May, We were at the BWI for 9 nights then GF for three nights. Going back in December and will be staying at the YC for 7 nights. I am sure we will be staying at the GF again in the future since my wife luvs it there, and we all know who holds the purse strings. :)

We like the Epcot - MK splits.::yes:: YOu get the best of both worlds. Being able to walk b/f from Epcot and MGM is great - especially if you have to go during busy times like we do due to kids' schedules.

Then we will fly over to Orlando, and then xfer to the YC and should be there in the middle of December for the Christmas stuff.

This thread (along with the GF FAQ thread) is getting me more excited for our first stay at the GF in July 2009 :cool1: :cool1:. Reading about the Grand and seeing lots of pics will (hopefully) make the next 11 months fly by :laughing:.

luvthemouse71.....I think the GF is about $50/night more than the Poly.....comparing GV-GV......so about $350 more for the week on a 7 night stay :goodvibes.

Is this a picture of pop jets? I thought I had read someplace that GF had pop jets and a playground, but I have since read that there is not a playground so now I am wondering if there are pop jets. It kind of looks like water shooting out of the ground, but wasn't sure. :confused:

If there are pop jets my DD will be so excited. She may even say she wants to stay at GF again instead of POP (which she is mad we aren't staying at again this time and says is her hotel. :laughing: )

wow! thanks to all for your wonderful pics!!! dh and i stopped by on one of our tips to take a look at the gf. when we got there it was dark so we didnt get a good look- altho we did catch a very lucky brides wedding! ive been in love with it since the first time i saw it years ago on the christmas parade. i hope one of these days we can stay there!

Currently the Grand Floridian is beyond my means, but one day I will be there! I will certainly be paying a visit to the resort during my holidays, and I definitely will start saving for a trip there one day. :cloud9:

What an ABSOLUTELY beautiful resort!!! AMAZING!!!! We will be dining at the GF 1900 Park Fare our last day at Disney and I may get a spa treatment too. We will be staying at the WL but you can bet for our next visit I will be pushing for the GF! Gorgeous!!!!

I'm going to be staying at the GF for the first time this year, was wondering if anyone had pics of the inside and views of a standard room? I've seen room pics but not all are tagged, so im not sure if they are standard or not. Thanks!
