Disney Credit Card - any perks?

Are there any perks or advantages to having the Disney Credit Card?

No.

Well, other than your name is on a list and you might get mailings about specials here and there.

But there are no discounts on admission media or resort rooms, if that's what you mean.

None whatsoever. I got it a few years ago, used it and when I realized there are no perks at all, I dumped it.

Oh, the image and the hologram are pretty enough to keep...

zip, zilch, nada. The only thing you get is advertising flyers in your billing envelope to buy more stuff! Seriously, though....the only reason I got the card in the first place was to take to WDW on our trip two years ago. Instead of taking hundreds of $$'s with us on the trip, I charged everything to the card, kept the $$ in my bank account for another month (earned a little more interest), then paid the bill completely when it came in.

I think they're up at 21 - 22% interest now too

I originally got the card to make reservations with CRO over the phone. You used to be able to put your deposit on either an AMEX or the Disney Credit card, but not any others. However, now I believe they accept all credit cards over the phone for deposits, so there really is no advantage to the Disney Credit Card.

I enjoy my card. I like being able to take it on vacation with me and get just one vacation bill afterwards. I also like the mailings. I always get the postcards for freebies with purchase at the Disney store. It does have a high interest rate, so I'd never want to carry a balance, but when used just for vacation or ressie deposits I think it's handy to have. Plus, Wanda, I agree with you!:) The hologram is pretty cool. It gets me excited about WDW every time I pull it out! It's a sparkly little magic card! heehee!

I have it just because its Disney. I also use it for deposits, etc.

but the main reason I like it is because over the years the card has come in many versions, some limited editions, and I have them all. so every couple years I get a new version of the card. I have had it since 1994 and my original purple card says "charter member" on it.

I have the original purple card, the 25th anniv hologram card, the AK card, the DL/DCA card, and now the 100th anniversary card.

a few of them came with collectible pins and calling cards.

so for me its just for fun......:jester:
