What kind of cabinet did you get. I'm looking for one right now. They are either to expensive or to cheap looking!! I want something in the middle. Snap some pictures when your dh is done putting it up. I can't wait to see it.
Congrats

Congrats

I will post photos. I got a PAX closet from Ikea. 93" high, 39" wide, 22" deep. I got 3 pull out drawers, 1 pull out basket, and 4 shelves, doors and handles. I'll probably return something. I don't think it will all fit. It was just under $500.

Still working. We had to exchange a shelf. I am about to start re-organizing paper. At this rate, I'll be done in June.

Congrats! I'm in the middle of redecorating my craft room with IKEA items too. So far I got 2 Alex rolling carts for all my paper - Love Love Love them!! I spent a whole day organizing paper and it was fun! I'm getting 2 Liatorp bookcases to hold everything else.

You'll love it once you get it all set up - have fun!

2 whole days, still working but here are some photos

Here is the whole thing (Afterwards I always look at my photos to see what embarrassing things may be lurking in the background -- not too bad, just CNN and my open laundry chute door.)

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/susanbillings/IMGP8417.jpg

The top shelf is for albums, still have to do that.
Next one down is miscellaneous stuff. Embellishment boxes, notebooks, chalks and I don't what else yet. The bottom shelf has my toolbag, box of Disney & disney-ish patterned papers, accordion file holding scraps, cricut. There is room for more stuff.

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/susanbillings/IMGP8418.jpg

Solid cardstock and ribbon/fibers. I am keeping my Christmas ribbons, which I have a lot of, separately in the basement. This is not all of my cardstock. I have unopened packs in the basement. The patterened paper doesn't fit here. The shelf pulls out and it would be too heavy. The patterend paper will go in a different cabinet in the room. I still have to re-organize all of that.

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/susanbillings/IMGP8419.jpg

My favorite drawer! The work in progress space. I can work right on the shelf during the day if I have a few moments. Otherwise, I work on my dining room table and can just transfer here when I am done for the night.

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/susanbillings/IMGP8420.jpg

cricut carts, stickles, chalks inks etc. I need to leave open spaces for new carts so I have to remember not to fill it too much.

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/susanbillings/IMGP8421.jpg

This is a scraprack. I haven't filled it yet. It is supposed to hold stickers and embellishment etc in divided binder pages. I really hope I like it. It was an expensive gift. I need to shell out at least $50 on additional binder pages and it is taking up a lot of room in my cabinet. It is on a pull out drawer. There is room behind to put some of my lesser used items -- maybe some punches.

The shelf above holds my paper cutter, 12x24 paper and all cricut mats. This is why I needed to get organized. After Christmas I gathered up all of my cricut stuff from all around the house and realized I had more cricut mats and blades than ACM carries. Check out the pile of 12x24 paper! I am happy to report that I haven't been to ACM for impulse shopping since before Christmas.

Overall, I am pleased with the cabinet. I think I will be able to use the supplies on hand, rather than buy because I don't know what I have. I am also really happy about the work shelf. However, I will still have to keep a bunch of stuff in the basement.

Looks great!! You've got a good system to keep yourself organized. I love the drawer with the divided sections for stickles, inks, etc. That stuff always seems to end up everywhere. :thumbsup2

No! I sent the kids to the back yard to continue on their way to digging to China, and then I stood there and watched DH assemble. Super easy!

We have a brand new IKEA showroom about 45 minutes from the house. I'm hoping my DH will want to go and spend a few hours looking around.

Do 12 x 12 scrapbooks fit in the top of the cabinet?

Or has anyone ever found a bookshelf at IKEA that 12 x 12 scrapbooks will fit in?

Yes they fit at the top. The shelves were not built in; I decided where they would go. I have 2 other ikea bookshelves that fit 12x12 books. One is a Billy or Bonde (sorry I can't remember which one) -- again, you decide where to put the shleves and the other is Levik. Levik has only one place for the shelves to go. It is high enough to for the books, but they hang over the edge about 1.5 inches. Mine have been hanging like that for years without problem.

Ikea has very cool stuff all the way around - and some cheap household things - I 'dragged' my husband once and then we went about once a month when it was 45 min away - now it's more like 25 and we never get there! If you can convince him there are cool boy things there too he may go for it!

I have been trying to convince my hubby to buy bookshelves for a couple of years and haven't gotten very far. Ours are sagging really bad, maybe I'll just have to buy some anyway if they're not to much.

I love your new stuff! I need to try to organize my stuff. I have to share my space with my DH. We have two computers, a love seat, an entertainment center for the TV and my scrap table. I think that I need to take over more of this room. I may have to take a ride to IKEA. Isn't there one right over the bridge??(not sure which one, but someone told me it was off 95)

Enjoy

Walt Whitman bridge
1st exit (towards 95)
left at the light before you enter 95
right at the first light? maybe Oregon Ave? it is the street Tony Luke's is on
take that to front st or whatever it is called now,
left on front st
Ikea is on the left

I actually run down that way a lot during lunch (I'm the only girl in the city who takes the CAR out at lunch!)

1st exit (towards 95)
Left at the light before you enter 95 (I think this is Front actually)
Not sure if the right is the first light but it is Oregon Ave - There are gas stations on two corners and you can see Tony Luke's across to the right. Turn on Oregon and basically go to the end. River in front of you.
Make the left onto Columbus Blvd (which will be delaware ave a few miles down).
Left lane to get into turning lane to get into the ikea.
There is family parking to the immediate left of the building if you have the kiddies with you.

Not sure if I clarified Susan's directions or made it more confusing.
