September 26th 2007 (Day 14)

Up quite late due to the late night last night. Today is our last full day so the mood is a little sombre.. We got the bulk of our packing done and shared 6 beignets for breakfast (farrr too sickly for me i'm afraid!!) First on the list for today is Downtown Disney as Steve wanted an iPod case like mine (copycat!) We had lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Express: Four cheese and margherita pizzas, a brownie and crisps. Great use of CS credits as the food was really nice. We wandered up the World Of Disney store as I wanted to exchange a top and I also got a cute little pirate Pluto.

Next we set off for MK to catch the parade. Treats dutifully bought (ice-cream for Steve, chocolate covered strawberries for me) we staked out a spot and waited..

Parade time, yay! Cue many more pictures:

After the parade we went on the Jungle Cruise but our skipper was distinctly lacking this time.. Some of her jokes were the same as the ones the other (funnier) skipper had told but her delivery was just all wrong. It was a bit of an Esther Rantzen that's for sure! (Bottom reference) Next up was the Enchanted Tiki Room as i'd never seen it, I thought it was quite cute. Tried to get some pictures in Mickey and Minnie's houses in Toontown but they were way too busy (the rest of the park wasn't too bad it was just this area) There was a Dream Along With Mickey show due to start so we headed for that:

However it was cut short by rain, though to be honest I wasn't really keen and found the Mickey and Minnie a tad creepy looking (moving mouths, what's that all about?!) It was getting close to our Kona Cafe ADR time so we said goodbye to MK..

Bye bye castle!

We headed over to the Polynesian (in our wisdom we drove and ended up something like 6 miles out of the way and had to loop back, note to self get the monorail next time!!) This is a really nice resort but the lobby/main entrance doesn't seem as imposing to me as the other deluxes and we almost missed it! We were seated immediately at Kona Cafe and I had potstickers for my starter, Steve didn't have one as they only had salads which he doesn't like (as we've established!) For mains I had the macadamia mahi mahi and Steve has the noodle bowl made with tofu instead of chicken (this isn't on the menu but they're happy to do it) Desserts were creme brulee for me (which knocked spots off Jiko's..)

Macadamia chocolate tart for Steve:

The meal was very nice and as good as most of the signature ones in our opinion. After dinner we tried to check in online at the reception desk bit only worked for me for some reason, guess we'll sort it out tomorrow instead! We headed to the marina as it was time to meet up with the people from the Dibb (another WDW message board i’m a member of) we were sharing our Wishes cruise with. Janice aka curlywurly arrived first with her DH, son and daughter then Lynn AKA LYNNMCI arrived with her DH and inlaws. Our driver was called Steve too and his name badge said Wales yet he had an American accent but he said he'd traded with another CM for a laugh, those crazy Disney employees eh?! We all boarded the boat and CM Steve (just to avoid any confusion i'll prefix his name!!) took us around the lake and told us about the resorts and other landmarks including some cool info about the shoe tree (CMs who are leaving throw their work shoes on it and they periodically get collected by maintenance) and river country (apparently amoeba in the water was what caused it to close) Next he got the boat into position for Wishes and offered us snacks and drinks (I loved the cheesy popcorn, wish I knew where you could get it!) Wishes started promptly at 8pm:

Unfortunately I didn't get many good pictures (I think a tripod helps in these sort of conditions) but the view was great and it was a fantastic memory. The cost is very reasonable if you can fill a boat and I hope everyone we shared it with enjoyed it as much as we did. After the cruise we headed back to the hotel for an early night, we're going home tomorrow (boooo!)

We had the music and though it was a nice addition I think we would have enjoyed it just as much without (it's slightly cheaper I believe and usually a tad easier to get)

A lovely last day. I would also love to do a Wishes cruise. If it helps, we once had the cheesy popcorn at Sunshine Seasons in the Land at Epcot.

A nice ending to your trip but that last day is always a sad one when you know what tomorrow brings.
