To WDW, and beyond! Day 9

September 21st 2007 (Day 9)

Just a bagel each for breakfast because today is a waterpark day, woohoo! We headed to Typhoon Lagoon for opening and I immediately regretted not bringing my trading pins with me as there are some real gems on the CM lanyards here (fellow pin traders take note!!) and went straight to Crush n' Gusher (middle slide) then did most of the other slides aside from the gairy looking vertical drop one, reminds me too much of the 'death slide' at Pleasure Island (old indoor amusement park in Liverpool containing many dangerous slides, it was every child's dream and every parent's nightmare!) when I was a kid.. It was OK when I was 8 years old and fearless but not anymore i'm afraid! We also went on the Lazy River and the wave pool which is really quite ferocious, clears the sinuses that's for sure (sorry for the lovely mental image there!) We went on the right slide of Crush n' gusher and then left at about midday since it was starting to get busy and neither of us have more than half a day's tolerance for water parks. We went back to the hotel to change and rest a bit then it was off to MK at 3pm. We got the ferry over this time (have to do it at least once a trip, it's the most magical way to arrive at MK in my opinion) They were letting in people with MNSSHP passes at 3:30pm so we decided to wait since we'd be able to get our wristbands straight away.

Not sure why we got these, but they were cute anyhow! I kept a few for my scrapbook

This was a fun place, we joined in with all the napkin twirling antics, and the characters are cute if a little rushed (to be expected I guess, it's a popular place!) We enjoyed the food too, the chef was happy to show Steve what he could have on the buffet. I particularly enjoyed the brown bread pudding, the raisin bread and the garlic mash. I think next time we'll try the breakfast here.

After dinner we got changed into our MNSSHP costumes and Steve got his first compliment of MANY that night, both guests and CMs loved his costume. I think the simplest ideas can be the best sometimes.

We did the Fantasyland rides first as the waits were so short: Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White's Scary Adventure, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Mickey's Philharmagic. It was fun to do these as they're the ones i'd usually overlook if there was a queue which there usually is! Next we did our first spot of trick or treating, to be honest we didn't get much candy over the course of the evening and we ended up not bothering after the third or fourth stop as most of it wasn't stuff we liked anyway. We decided to take advantage of the short queues on more of the rides and had second goes on Buzz, Monsters Inc, Haunted Mansion and Pirates.

I changed my shoes back to Crocs as my feet were killing me (in hindsight maybe red crocs would have been a good idea?! With red jewel jibbitz!) The rides were pretty much all walk-ons and we did see a few non-wristbanded people being asked to leave at 7pm, some not without protest! At 9:30pm we watched Hallowishes then the Villains show in front of the castle and the 10:30pm parade. We thought it would be quieter but that was soo not the case! There were people near us saving seats for TEN family members, I kid you not!! Regardless, we loved the Boo To You parade and took lots of pics:

Your pictures of the parade are really good - ours didn't turn out very well. We sat by the start in FrontierLand and i felt it was really dark there. Music is rather catchy, isn't it?

I remember Pleasure Island well I loved the slides in 'The Works' and the Quasar but I was rubbish at skating so had to give that a miss. Its such a shame its closed down.

Your costumes are great but who is Benkman is he a Ghostbuster? Are Ghostbusters Disney?
