Good Morning everyone!
Finished reading chapter 3 and then came over. It's still open for business. I am surprised a mod hasn't shut it down. I guess they are happy we are self-monitoring!
Heidi, I hope Sean is better today! How scary! AND CONGRATS on his extra part in the play! That is AWESOME!!
I like the Motorcoach! And who would have thought they would be so cheap? I know, $8000 is a lot of money, but I REALLY thought it would be 10xs that much!
Allen, I was going to suggest burning your photos to disc as well. You could seperate the photos into days, and burn one or 2 for each day.
My friend that takes all the Carnival cruises, she and her daughters are taking a bus trip to NYC on June 21. It's a red-eye bus trip. Leave Friday night, arrive NYC Saturday morning, tour all day, leave NYC Saturday night at 11pm, then arrive home Sunday morning. The price isn't bad, $108, plus all your food and purchases. My only concern is not showering for a whole weekend AND can I sleep on a bus? I am sure coming home I could, because I would be exhausted! Not sure about on the way up!
I am sure there was something else I was going to comment on, and I can't think of it!
We had a great time shopping yesterday! there is an inside mall and then an outside shopping area. it's pretty cool how it's set up. when the boys were little, I bought a lot of thier clothes at places like Gymboree and Children's Place,(ALWAYS on sale!) then as they outgrew those places, I was just getting stuff at Walmart, Target, Sears, Penny's, Whereever. Welllll, now that they are getting older, suddenly that's not good enough! We shopped at Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropostale and American Eagle! UGH! I don't spend that much on clothes for myself! Since when is Kmart not good enough?? LOL I managed to have a few coupons and to steer them towards the sale racks! For as much money as we spent, we didn't come home with a whole lot of stuff! that said, They are tickled with thier new clothes and said thank you several times!
We also went to a store called The Container Store. Back in the back, I found my Granny Cart I was looking at! Steve just laughed and shook his head, but when I told him all the uses I had for it, he just shrugged his shoulders and said, Whatever! They had a few different ones to choose from, but this was the biggest basket. the only "bad" part, it doesn't have a wieght limit on it! Most of the carts I looked on line, it did list. Here is it....
http://www.containerstore.com/MEDIA/ProductCatalog/17092/17092.jpg
I know Heidi was considering one, this one was $40.
Other then that, I bought NOTHING for myself! I really need to! we need to take a shirt back to A&F, so when we go to the mall to do that, I am going to look for myself!
Today is focused on getting the Carnival all squared away! Wish me luck! Thankfully, I will NEVER have to do this again!

It's been a BEAUTIFUL spring day today! In the 60's today! I set my 3 folding tables up in the garage and sorted all the Carnival toys. I had the garage door open the entire time! I am slowly making headway!
Fixed scalloped potatoes (HOMEMADE I might add!) and left over ham and rolls. The rolls are Sister Shuberts. OH MY! They are So good! They are in the frozen section and they taste like the rolls at Logan's Steakhouse...if you have one of those!
Time to eat! BBL!

can I ask....how much is your grocery bill? Anyone? I usually shop once every 2 weeks and it can be anywhere from 300-400 depending on what we get. Of course, if we do a Sam's run, which we did a few weeks ago, my bill has been under 300. That is for everything...health and beauty, pet food, toiletries, videos, food, everything...love the Walmart one-stop shopping. Then, over the 2 weeks, I might stop and get a few extra things or more fresh food. That might run me another 50 over the 2 weeks. Is that horrible or am I right in line with the "norm"?

Michele,
That sounds about right..I have been trying to go shopping every two weeks since I hate going to begin with...LOL!!!!!!!! Trying, to use up some stuff that has been in our large freezer before I really stock up again on meats again..
I will stop and get milk, etc. if I run out before the two weeks. I usually spend between 200-300 for two weeks. Sometimes, I do try and get the stuff that I can at Walmart and then the rest at the grocery store!!

That's great!!! I think it helps having a Walmart close by....I don't have one so I have to go to a regular grocery store!! I went to Costco yesterday and spent about 200!!!
I really need to get back into the grocery game!!! I save a lot of money when I do that!!!

That's great!!! I think it helps having a Walmart close by....I don't have one so I have to go to a regular grocery store!! I went to Costco yesterday and spent about 200!!!
I really need to get back into the grocery game!!! I save a lot of money when I do that!!!
How is the grocery game???!!!!!!! I've heard of it but never have done it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that sounds about right Michele, ours is half that but our kids are still very young and don't eat as much as we do yet!!!!
Gosh, ain't that the truth! Connor doesn't quite eat as much as Colton. Colton eats like an adult. Connor still will order off a kids menu and be satisfied.

It's great...I love it!!!
This lady named Terry put together this website, and every week theythey go through adds and put together lists of the best way to save money using coupons....Sun -Tues are the best days to shop because of the Sun adds.
They have everything layed out for you, they tell you the final price you pay, the percent of savings, they even tell you which coupons to use, from the date of the paper the coupon came out of, to the particular packet it comes out of (Smart source, Procter and Gamble, or redplum)
I love it!!! It helps me to organize my coupons, I just cut them all up, then I paper clip them together and write on the front the date and packet!!

I just found TheGroceryGame.com and yes, you have to pay. $10/8weeks for one store. If there is more then one store in your area, each additional store is $5/8weeks.
I like CouponCabin.com for printable coupons for clothes. There was another one that I was looking at when I was looking at the CVS thread, but now I can't find it. I thought I saved it. I was looking at the Rite Aid one. There is someone that took the upcoming Ad and matched the coupons that are out there with the ad! It was in a spreadsheet format, so all you had to do was find your coupon and go shopping!

Ahoy Ye Matey's!!!
It's raining, it's pouring!
I wish I was still snoring!
The dogs are so funny! Daisy HATES to be wet, so she won't go out unless you take her on a leash. Then she'll stand under the umbrella and practicley pee on your feet! Then there's Kozmo who LOVES to be wet and would run around and get soaked, so you have to take him on a leash or you have a mess! This was one day when they decided to play after a rain. Never again..... I was surprised that "Princess" got into it, but she did!

That's too cute! My 7 pound dog Izzy hates rain. And cold, and wet snow, etc etc. She has hardly any fur and she is a total baby when it comes to weather. She prefers 90 and sunny, then she will go lay down on the piping hot asphalt driveway.

I like CouponCabin.com for printable coupons for clothes.
CouponCabin.com is wonderful, both for print coupons and for online store coupons. Other sites that have printable coupons include coupons.com and smartsource.com. I log on using two different computers so I can print double my print limit on certain coupons, esp. the $1 and higher off ones!
I guess I spend $120-$150 a week on groceries, plus do an every 2-month trip to BJs (like Sam's Club & Costco, and BJs also has printable coupons available on its web site) for the boxes o' snacks, bags o' chicken, palette of juice boxes, etc., spending about $150-$200 there. Then the SuperTarget trips every 2 weeks or so absolutely do me in....can't get out of the store below $100!
The rewards system at Kroger (groceries) has save me lots of $$$$ too. With every 500 points, you earn $5 off your grocery bill coupons, mailed to you every 2 months. I regularly get at least $15-$20 off coupons, plus store coupons for products that the big brother scanner says I buy often, which really helps with three kids and a hungry husband!
Keep the deep freezer stocked with sales too!

Hello all!
I ended up babysitting this morning. She said she "just needed to run to the pharmacy for an hour as they are having computer problems" Well, that hour became 4! UGH! I feel SO far behind now! I should be done with carnival, but I haven't even started today! Also, the Cleveland Indians are playing one of their spring training games against Tampa Bay in Winter Haven and I would MUCH rather sit down and finish watching the game...but that would put me even FURTHER behind!
I'll try to be back later......
Allen's chili is now defrosting....at least I won't have to cook!

Hello All!
Allen's chili freezes beautifully and heats up wonderfully!! Had that over speghetti and made some Jiffy Corn Muffins.
Gina, I may partake in a much needed drink at about 230 next Saturday. I am sorry to continue to gripe about this school carnival, but I really feel like I am doing this myself! I thought I would be done sorting and assigning the prizes to the games, but I'm not!! I might be able to finish it tomorrow. Thankfully, Jennifer is taking care of the food and the inflatables. She is also getting some of our copying done! I just hope we end up with enough volunteers to pull this off! Everyone wants to attend the carnival, but no one wants to volunteer to help!! It's just frustrating!
The boys and I are applying for our passports tomorrow morning! Just means the cruise is getting that much closer!
Going to take the lawn mower in for a tuneup and blade sharpening. I really could cut grass already, but I am holding off as long as I can!

That seems to be the way parents work these days. That is why our girl scout troop disbanded. They basically treated us like daycare. They wanted our girls to do all this great stuff, but no parents ever volunteered to help at the meetings, or drive to the field trips, or anything! I hope you get the help you need! I would help, but it's a really long drive.

This will be my 2nd one. Two of the women I know pretty well, as we shared plane rides to and from WDW one year, and stayed at the same hotel. We ran into them all over the parks too LOL. There are 2 people on our cruise I've tried to get to come, but one is in Florida until late Friday and I can't seem to track down PiperG. It sure would be fun to meet them before October.

Thanks for your sympathy regarding the carnival. It really IS frustrating. we have had several meetings and literally, me, Jennifer and one other Mom are usually the ONLY ones to show up! The most we've had is 5 people. Our school has almost 800 kids! HELLO! I could use some help here! LOL I was thinking, as I was sorting and packing, yanno, I should have AT LEAST 10 moms in my garage helping me to do this! Instead it was me and Colton! Then it dawned on me, I forgot to add to the signs, how many tickets each game will cost! LOL I'll just make stickers and put them up when the signs go up! Gggrrrrrr!
Denis, did you buy a goat? I have thought about a cow.....I wouldn't have to mow grass, I'd have milk all summer and beef all winter! But I hate to clean up dog doo, nevertheless, COW doo! Yish!

That what our meeting was about, doing a carnival. 5 parents showed up, unbelievable!!!! It is always the same people that run everything, me being one of them. Everyone will complain when it is cancelled because of lack of volunteers. Makes me crazy, I feel your pain, we did a carnival two years ago, I remember the amount of work (maybe thats why only 5 showed up lol) Sending you the strength to get through it *POOF*

trashing the lawn mower gets you a new one, huh? well, I better not! Steve just bought me this beautiful Craftsman Mower 3 years ago! This year, Steve is working less on the weekends, so HE can help me mow! AND Colton is going to learn how to mow too! We got him to take a few swipes last year, but they ended up being pretty squiggly lines in the lawn!
So, when and where should we meet?

You guys are all quite the chatter bugs!!! I can't keep up with our thread.....every time I get a chance to come back you guys are on a new chapter!!!!
Went last night to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway...what a great show. I have heard mixed reviewes of it but I am glad I did not listen and went for myself....I loved it.
The standouts were Ariel, Ursula and Sebastian....all great actors with fantastic voice!!! The sets and costumes were awesome.....some interesting new songs and of course the standards like Part of Your World, Under the Sea, and Kiss the Girl.
If you are in the NYC area make sure you put it on your list to see!!! My DD24 loved it as well!!!
Hey, has anyone been checking out the thread on the main board entitled "Help With My Cruise Playlist"? You should....there are some great song choices for any "Cruising" CD's or Ipod selections you may want to put together!!!
So excited our DD19 is coming from across the pond on Monday....be good to have her home again!!
We plan on having a party for our friends/family that are cruising with us sometime over the summer and with all those songs listed we'll have a fantastic playlist for the party!!!

Once a CM always a CM!!! Not counting on the benefits again though....who know what Disney will do!!! It will still be nice to be working for the mothership again!!!

Also have to share that some of you may know (I think I mentioned it on here before but maybe not) that I still work for the Disney Store and have for 17 years. Well 3 years ago Disney sold off the Disney Stores to the company that owns Children's Place and all TDS CM's lost their benefits to WDW and DCL (and the stores lost a lot of their Magic IMO).....well it was just announced that Disney is now buying back the TDS's from Children's Place (who announced Chapter 11 yesterday) so I may be back in the offical Walt Disney Company fold again!! Once a CM always a CM!!! Not counting on the benefits again though....who know what Disney will do!!! It will still be nice to be working for the mothership again!!!
MJ I hope you'll get your benefits back!!!!! And thank you so much for posting the list here!!!!! :thumbsup2

Hello all!
Just popping on to say hi! Been to the post office to apply for passports, been out to see the new kennel, took the mower in for it's tune up and then to Shoney's for lunch! Now I HAVE to get out to the garage and finish the carnival prizes! I really want my truck back in the garage. It's been raining for 2 days straight and I am a whimp and don't like to get wet! LOL
MJ! Thanks for the music list! I will have to make a CD for us too!
I'll check back in later while I make dinner...which I have NO Idea what that will be!

Thanks for the list, apparantly we are making CD's...I would have assumed enough people would make some and we'd be all cool with it but with our luck, everyone will think everyone else is making them. Right now I'm thinking early morning or early mid morning or...pfft anytime on the secret deck! The laptop doesn't have the best sound but but I have a set of battery powered external speakers, just loud enough to hear it and not knock you ears off. OMG did I just say that? I'm getting old.
Oh btw, don't mean to stroll off the beaton path but if it's my tunes I will toss in a few extras like Lowrider LOL :hippie:

Well, I "THINK" I have all the prizes and games sorted....all 30 of them, each with about 3 prize levels. Thankfully, Colton helped me a lot. So far, I have at least 14 hours wrapped up in this. I still have a few signs to make, a few pieces to order, and I think I gave one class 2 games, so I am waiting for the mom to call me back! LOL All I have to say is....I hope the kids have a blast and that they play so much I have no prizes left! LOL I sit and look at all those prizes...enough for about 300 plays per game....and I would just be sick if we had a ton left over. Also, I have a few extra prizes for each level. I think that's good though. then I don't have to beg, borrow and steal from other games. Okay, I think I am done griping for tonight.
I'm now going to start day dreaming about being on Deck 7, laying back in a chair, with a cold drink, listening to Jimmy Buffet gently crooning from PinkyBoy's computer speakers! ......huge sigh.......
Since we had a pretty big lunch, we're just having soup and grilled cheese for dinner. Easy, easy!! pesghetti sounds good too!!

PHEW! I thought I might be the only one here tonight! I can't be the only one with a life so boring that I am in my PJ's by 8 and spend a Friday night with people I have yet to meet! LOL I mean that in the MOST loving way!
Oh Nancy! I WISH I was done with Carnival! I just ordered a few things from Oriental Trading and I am going to PRAY they get here by Friday. That is the estimated delivery date. I am in the midst of printing off more signs for the hallways. I also forgot to put the ticket cost on the signs, so now I have to print off those and hang those on Friday. I made the homeroom mom's responsible for getting some of the stuff that will be needed...example, for the goldfish toss the local petstore donates fish. We have a coupon and the child goes to her store to collect. The idea is that she donates the fish, the child then buys the bowl, the food, the net, etc. ANYHOW, I made the homeroom mom responsible to call and set that up and get the coupons ready. I told Jennifer, who is helping me, I am NOT going to get all this together! If they want a carnival, THEY can help too! I just hope I have a mom from each class show up on Friday night to help me set up! THAT is the plan!
Yanno, earlier today, while I was in the depths of Carnival Carp, the phone rings and it's a local number, but I don't recognize the name, so I answer it. It's a lady from a nearby town, whom I have never met, who wants to know if I am in need of prayer and that she would love to pray with me. I felt bad as I blew her off. Not 2 mins later, the phone rings again, but I don't answer. Connor calls from the house, "MOM! It's that same lady that wants to pray with you! She left a message and in it said she had never talked to you before. She must of forgot she called!" Then I started thinking, Maybe I should have taken her up on her prayer support! Maybe she knows something I don't!

She must really think you need help!!!! I get tired just reading about your carnival story.
I just got done watching "The Messengers", creepy! I love scary movies, but I can't believe I always fall for all the jumpy parts, jeez, I practically cover my eyes sometimes!!! I'm mega lazy, been sitting in my bed for almost 2 hours now, watching and now surfing.

I feel like a bum....tough day at my real job (secretary) and have not removed my rear from the reclining chair all night.....
I had such ambition to start emptying out our family room as we are getting our hardwood floors resanded, stained and coated Tuesday and Wednesday.....
Everything in our downstairs has to be moved to the one room that has carpet....next week will be nuts!!
Hope DD is not expecting a welcome home party!! She will be lucky if she can sleep in her own bed the night she comes home!!!

The Orphanage, that was just out wasn't it? I saw a preview, but didnt realize it was in Spanish. Maybe the subtitles would take some of the edge off so I wouldn't jump so high!
Have you seen a movie called "Dead End"? It's a horror/black comedy. I thought it would be just horrible (it's very campy), but I loved it! Very funny, but also quite scary.

:rotfl2: That's funny!!!! My Steve walks in from work tonight and the first words out of his mouth are "I'm sorry". I turn to see him carrying a large box of left over donuts from work. He brings them often, but the last few weeks it's only been glazed, which I don't like. I knew it was bad when he said sorry, sure enough 2 large chocolate iced donuts, one with sprinkles!!!! I am trying so hard to eat fairly well to lose a few pounds before I go cruise shopping and he knows I can't resist a chocolate donut.
