I surprised Alexa with a trip to Chicago to see Wicked on the actual day of her 11th birthday. I thought she would flip out and jump up and down the whole nine yards. Got the video camera and got a very subdued reaction. I think it was shock. She later wrote a paper on it, and when I read that, I got her true reaction (which was the one I thought I would get, but it was inside her head instead of jumping all over LOL).

I surprised Alexa with a trip to Chicago to see Wicked on the actual day of her 11th birthday. I thought she would flip out and jump up and down the whole nine yards. Got the video camera and got a very subdued reaction. I think it was shock. I have watched the video a few times too, and I can tell she was just in shock. To be woken up and get handed tickets, that are for that very day, in a different city! She loved every second of it though, it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristin have a GREAT time!! I really wish we were going to WDW instead of Myrtle Beach in June, BUT it's been several years since we have been to the beach and there is the new Hard Rock Amuzement park there that we are eager to try! Can you tell I am trying to talk myself into wanting to go to the beach?? LOL That's cool that you are surprising the girls! We did that to the boys are our first Disney Cruise. We had been at WDW for a week and told the boys we were going to drive over to the coast and maybe spend the day at the beach before we headed home. As we were crossing the bridge and we could see the ship, we told the boys we were cruising instead! They flipped out! I recorded it. I should find it and watch it again!!

Allen, So all you do is rub a qtip in garlic juice and swab the inside of the ear?? I am VERY curious about this as Colton suffers from ear aches and has had 2 sets of tubes and his adnoids removed. He also gets a LOT of wax, so if this will help, I am willing to try!! I buy chopped garlic in the jar to use in recipes, can I just use the juice in that jar or does it have to be fresh?

Nancy and Denis, I hope you get your home improvement projects done without a divorce! LOL It can be very stressful!! Did you look at the house you really liked? What did you think?

the fish extender is something you hang from the fish beside your stateroom door. If you choose to do this you go around and leave goodies and other people do the same for you. Good Morning everyone!

Looks like I'll be working until Noon and then I can go home and get ready for the weekend!

Kristin have a GREAT time!! I really wish we were going to WDW instead of Myrtle Beach in June, BUT it's been several years since we have been to the beach and there is the new Hard Rock Amuzement park there that we are eager to try! Can you tell I am trying to talk myself into wanting to go to the beach?? LOL That's cool that you are surprising the girls! We did that to the boys are our first Disney Cruise. We had been at WDW for a week and told the boys we were going to drive over to the coast and maybe spend the day at the beach before we headed home. As we were crossing the bridge and we could see the ship, we told the boys we were cruising instead! They flipped out! I recorded it. I should find it and watch it again!!

Allen, So all you do is rub a qtip in garlic juice and swab the inside of the ear?? I am VERY curious about this as Colton suffers from ear aches and has had 2 sets of tubes and his adnoids removed. He also gets a LOT of wax, so if this will help, I am willing to try!! I buy chopped garlic in the jar to use in recipes, can I just use the juice in that jar or does it have to be fresh?

Nancy and Denis, I hope you get your home improvement projects done without a divorce! LOL It can be very stressful!! Did you look at the house you really liked? What did you think?

I will say it helped sell it, it sold the first weekend for full price (of course the market was different then, it still helped a lot!).

I just finished detailing my truck and I am BEAT! Oh my! I have forgotten how much work it is! I know it's going to rain this weekend and all my work might be for naught, but at least I got the winter grime off of it..... and it sure is purty sittin' in the garage! LOL

tomorrow is laundry and packing! We're leaving around 9am on Friday. I won't have internet service while we are gone either!! What will I do!!??!!??

Angel, you could use just about anything for a fish extender. I had orginally bought lime green canvas bags at Walmart and I was going to iron on something and then hang that, but then someone found these cool foam treasure chests at Michael's Craft store. Quite a few of us have those to decorate and hang. I know Heidi and her boys are going to design and make their own. It just depends on how crafty you are and how much you want to spend! Heck, I saw one thread the family just got those paper bags with the rolled paper handles and decorated and hung those up! Whatever works!!!

Hi Angel!! that's great I will add you to the list then:thumbsup2 what some of us have done is we bought a foam pirate chest from Michael's craft store and we will be using that as a fish extender. Or you could also use a small canvas bag or even get one from ebay if you can find one there!!

I thought it would be fun and they were cheap enough that I wouldn't worry about getting them back. Also, I remember people had a lot of those glow necklaces/bracelets and were handing those out too. That said, that is all Pirate Night oriented and I would rather find something that represents WV.

Yeah Michele, you were supposed to find that banana recipe and then share it with me! That was my favorite drink on my honeymoon (eons ago) and no one in Minnesota sells a decent one, if at all.

It's supposed to snow another 4-6 inches here tomorrow and Friday, and have 40mph winds. Good grief, enough!!!

I was almost driving on expired tags, I got mine on with 3 days to spare LOL.

If we joined a Mustang club (we've thought about it), we couldn't take long trips. Ever try putting substantial luggage in the trunk of a Mustang Convertible? Doesn't work very well.

UGH, I am having the hardest time finding a swimsuit for Alexa!!!!! She's too big for girls and too small for womens/juniors. Next step I think, is ordering from LL Bean. Lands end at Sears was a no go, the girls did almost fit, but they weren't cute. I'm hoping Lands End girls suits will fit. I'm not ready to pay LL Bean adult suit prices for a 12 year old!!!

I think while I'm at it, I'll order a couple light up travel alarm clocks for our cabins.

Ack, I won't even get into buying myself one! I found a top last year that I loved at Penneys on clearance. Wore it in Mexico, and the salt water ruined it! I was so ticked!!!

I have to remember to pack a nightlight for my kids, since they have an inside cabin! I should go buy one soon and put it with my other stuff before I forget.

Both ours came in. Mine is ummm how do I describe this? It's a one piece that kind of fits over like a dress but since I'm not a cross dresser I have nothing to compare it to. All I know is I have to supply my own pants unless I want to get arrested. Which I don't!!! Anyways I scoured Ebay but Nancy will not let me buy the spandex pants. That's ok I don't have the thighs for them anyways.

I have already tried to take the 3rd row out of my truck, but I can't seem to figure it out?? Even with the instructions that came with the truck! It's not a HUGE deal if I don't get it out, but it would give us a bit more room!

Well,, I knew it was bound to happen the kids both woke up this morning saying that there throats hurt. I looked in Hanna's and it had white spots in it.. So I took both of them to the dr. this morning.. Well, they are home from school today they both have STREP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They sure are acting fine. But so much for getting what I needed done before we leave.........................

Well,, I knew it was bound to happen the kids both woke up this morning saying that there throats hurt. I looked in Hanna's and it had white spots in it.. So I took both of them to the dr. this morning.. Well, they are home from school today they both have STREP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They sure are acting fine. But so much for getting what I needed done before we leave.........................

Oh no! But like I said before, at least strep you can fix quickly. It's better than one of those viral things that antibiotics can't help that linger for weeks.

OH Kristin!!!! :grouphug: The good thing is, in 24 hours they will no longer be contagious and you won't have to worry about going on the plane and infecting everyone!! The only downside is that they might still have a fever or just be lethargic and grumpy. TONS of pixie dust heading your way that they will re-coup quickly!!!

My friend I was going to lunch with called at 11 and said, where can we do lunch in 30 mins? I said, WHY? She said, The teacher caught me while I was copying, and she has sent home 10 kids in 3 days with pink eye! She was telling her that her son has slowly turned pink and crusty today. She was able to get an sppt at 1145. Needless to say, we had Taco Bell for lunch, not O'Charley's, and Lucas DOES have pink eye! Her daughter missed Mon and Tues with Strep!

Today it's 83 degrees and sunny! I guess the rains are holding off until tomorrow. Perfect car packing weather though! Oh yeah, I guess I better get back to it!!!!

My 6 year old had a horrible cough yesterday; so he didn't sleep well- so off to the Dr at 1 and no complaints of a sore throat; but dr says oh my! look @ those tonsils; they're enormous! So a throat culture and yes he's got strep! And add to that this am he was warm but wouldn't let me take his temp ( he has autism) but was willing to take the motrin @ 9- so fastforward to 1 and at the dr office his temp was 102.8!!!! So more mootrin and then antibiotics and he seems better- but the cough is still horrible! But nothing about his throat being sore? Fixing dinner now; and hopefully able to check in w u all later. Have a nice eve all! Angel

Its so hard to turn down free dining. Alec also feels he missed out on our last trip so he wants to go again. We are going to sit down tonight and figure it out. Heres hoping.
