Hi Everyone -

Is it true that if you are a Castaway Club Member that you get special boarding priviledges? Something on the lines of First Class boarding as on airplanes??

Also, what if you are traveling with other people that are not Castaway Club Members - do they get to board the ship with you or do they have to wait in line?

One more thing - can you run down the benefits of being a Castaway Club Member.

I just found out that my DH and I are Castaway Club Members - we sailed in September 1998 for our honeymoon and are sailing again 11.03.02 on the Wonder, so I just wanted to know the scoop on being a member.

Thanks in advance for all your input!!

Lisa

My family is a member of the Castaway Club... I havent noticed any special boarding privlidges, but I do know there is a special check-in line at the port. There is also usually a little totebag or something in your room when you get there. I know there isnt special airplane boarding.

As far as other benefits while on board... i really dont know. lol, we have always been in a suite, so i am not sure what we got because we were in a suite and what we got since we are addicted to disney criuses. sorry i cant be of more help...

There is a very nice returning cruisers party with snacks, drinks, and a chance to meet many of the ships officers. It's usually a great photo op with the captain, too.
There is a separate check-in line at the port, but be sure to check the other lines as they are sometimes shorter.

The Castaway Club check-in desk in the cruise terminal is located closest to the ship boarding area. Interestingly, the last 2 times that we used the Castaway Club check-in desk, we abandoned that line to move to one of the regular check-in lines. The regular check-in line was shorter! This is probably due to the fact that Disney really has its act together when it comes to the cruise check-in process. It usually takes us 10 minutes at the most (and that includes getting a great picture with Donald Duck, my favorite, as he was boarding the ship with his cardboard suitcase at the same time.) So the Castaway Club check-in desk may take you longer.

However, the toke bag you receive as a returning guest is surprisingly nice.
