Just a few days left on our Monterey trip. Here are a few shots from earlier in the week. Can anyone guess who the Disboard shooter pictured in one of the photos is?

Very nice work as usual Mark- looks like a beautiful area of the country. Is the house/inn shot somewhere you stayed?

Where were those otter shots taken? At the aquarium or just from the beach?

The "house" is a bed and breakfast called The Seven Gables. It does not allow guests like my family (or yours) to stay there. We're in a rental house a few blocks away. My wife wanted me to shoot The Seven Gables because she thought it looked pretty lit up at night.

One otter shot was taken in the Ocean while walking home from the beach. The other was taken at the aquarium.

The jelly and the anemone were also taken at the aquarium. I flipped the jelly pic over because I think they look better upside down.

Most of the shots are from Pacfic Grove. The aquarium is right next door in Monterey. One shot is from Carmel along 17 Mile Drive. The shot of the Mystery Disboard Photographer was taken at Point Lobos, just south of Carmel.

What does that mean? No kids allowed?

Yes. No kids.

Some B&Bs don't allow children, some do. Green Gables (just a few blocks away, same look, same great view) welcomes children, and there is a teddy bear in every room!

We have stayed there several times and "adopted" a bear or bunny each time.

Great photos Mark! They make us want to go back to Pacific Grove, next year I suppose... :)

I believe I'll take a stab at that mysterious DISboards photographer. He's not a master bricklayer and his initials are Gregg Hall!

Terrific shots Mark! :thumbsup2

Can't guess who the shooter is, but he has the same facial hair as the character in your second shot...

WOW, look at Greg on the surf board! I'm impressed.

(that is the picture of the mysterious DISboard shooter, right?)

Beautiful shots, Mark. Thanks so much for sharing! I have no idea who the mystery DIS boarder is or how you took that cool surfing picture. Please share the details on both!

Great shots Mark! Tomorrow (Easter) I think we are headed south down the coast to get some pics. Haven't taken any other than at Steinbeck Plaza in Monterey so hope to get some good ones like you have.

I thought the second shot was the mystery diser...although thinking further i know the last shot isn't mark since he doesn't have his" brown shorts, yellow shirt photog" outfit on;) but who ever he is he's intelligent( ie white lens):goodvibes

Well, it is a crappy picture, that's what I get for shooting only one and looking at the little screen

It was a pleasure to meet Mark and his family, and I look forward to meeting up with them again some time perhaps at Disneyland :)

These photos bring back so many memories. I am from California but, live in Ky now. In the next couple years I want to take my kids to California to visit all the places I went as a kid. Monterey is one of fondest vacation memories. The sea otters are awesome. I live near the licking river and my DH will mention if he sees a river otter. Then I tell my kids about sea otters. Thanks for trip on memory lane. Kat:cloud9:
