View Full Version : AKV - 1st Kidani Units Declared

The Orange County Comptroller's site shows the declaration for the first Kidani units - 64A, 64B, 64C, 64D.

There's also a diagram of Kidani - Maybe LisaS will create a simialr diagram to her Jambo House diagram.

That's great news! Sounds like they are running low enough on Jambo points that they needed to free up some Kidani points. When we were there at the begining of the month, one whole section was painted on the outside and appeared to be well on the way to completion. I'm guessing there will be some units ready for occupancy by January if not sooner.

If I'm looking at the diagram correctly it appears that the following have been declared:

Units 64A & 64 B - Two 2BR Lockoffs each

Units 64C & 64D - One 2BR Lockoff each

It appears that the declared units are in the second "block" of units north of what will be the lobby.

Once there, go to search documents and put in "Disney" for the party name and then just run the search open for the last 30 days.

You'll get a list of documents. Click on the AKV ones that mention "Phase 64"

Great news! We'll be there in June of 2009! (at least that looks like a strong possibility)

Interesting that they are declaring those units before they have even started the lobby. At least my photos from two weeks ago don't appear to have any lobby construction in them.

I think declaring the units is just to get sales ramped up. I don't think it would be contingent upon the lobby being X percent completed. I'd guess they'll have the lobby built before allowing occupancy of the first units. Couldn't see having to check in at AKL and then travel over to Kidani to stay.

If I'm looking at the diagram correctly it appears that the following have been declared:

Unit 64C is a dedicated 2BR! There is a closet in the second bedroom instead of a kitchenette.

The kitchens in one of the 2BRs in both Unit 64A and Unit 64B are L-shaped rather than U-shaped (as in the model room). In both cases, the studio portion appears to be an HA studio and the connecting door is in a different place. The closet (with the washer/dryer) is directly across from the kitchen in those rooms so maybe that made things too tight so they had to make the kitchen L-shaped so that you could access the closet more easily.

It is surprising that this is the first Unit to be declared. I expected they would start with the building segments closest to Jambo House since those are the furthest along.

Hey, we're going in Nov. too! It would be great to be able to switch and check out the new units.

We'll be there the 5-12! I can't wait. It will be our first trip since buying DVC. Are we there yet?

We just booked a two bedroom at Jambo house for Feb. 2009. I asked the CM if some rooms would be ready at Kindani then and she said 'yes.' She said they will not open Kindani until the lobby, pool, restaurants are complete. She said the first phase is the portion of the building they are working on now, the second will be lobby, pool, restaurants (then they will open) while the third part is being completed. I hope she is right!!!!:wizard:
