Great work. I really liked the journaling -- the similar structure of it throughout your book.

Thanks everyone. I use a lot of Becky Higgins' sketches to help plan pages. My goal for this album and for the next one is to not buy any paper for it. I have more paper than I know what to do with. Some is very old and I just can't throw it away. Luckily, I was able to work some of it into this album in ways I didn't hate. :cool1:
Back to trying to scrapbook everyday life. We go to Disneyland for the first time (I was there once, about 25 years ago) in January, so I'll be scrapping Disney again, soon. ;)
I did love being able to use my Cricut and cut out embellishment pieces instead of paying for them. Wish there was a cartridge with Peter Pan characters and other non-Princess classics like Pinocchio. Maybe one day!

I am totally jealous of your journalling capabilities. I stink at journalling so my books have tons of pics and very few words. I need to work on that.
I recognized the MGM pages as Becky Higgins. I love her sketches and use them often.
Oh and I love love love the towel animals, the guy is a little freaky but it's still cool!

When I do a vacation album, I almost exclusively use my trip report for the journaling. This time, I completely forgot about the trip report until about halfway through the book. When we do Disney, I take my laptop. Each night I load the pictures from that day onto the laptop so I can reformat the card and fill it again the next day. I also sit down and write about the day. It goes pretty fast because it's fresh on my mind. Saves me from having to remember later which may or may not happen.
The first trip was actually 2 albums. Those layouts are on my photobucket site still. The journaling for that was almost exactly my trip report.
Remember, when we scrapbook, we are writing a history book using many pictures, for future generations to enjoy and learn from. Having words to go along with them explains so much more than just looking at the pictures alone.
Gotta get to church now.
Thanks for looking, everyone. I love scrapbooking. Scouting takes most of my time these days, but I still love doing it, when I can find the time.

Hi Mary. I love your pages. I'm tring to cut out the Fairy Godmother with my Cricut and I'm having some trouble with the smaller pieces. The button that cuts her wand, is also supposed to cut eyes? Both came out as just lines and dots in the paper when I cut it. How did you do her wand and eyes? I was thinking of using a white pen for her eyes. Not sure what to do for her wand. Any suggestions you have are appreciated. Thanks.

DH downloads the pics every night but I'm usually asleep by the time he's done. We take about 400-700 pics a day. I really should bring a note book with me so I can write while the pics come up.
My first trip was 2 albums too! The newer ones will probably be 3 or 4 books long, I have to scrap every pic.

First, I wound up making her about 7.5" because I was really struggling with her face at smaller sizes. The wand, I cut out myself. It was just cutting too small. The eyes, I wound up cutting myself, also. They are just so tiny.
Sorry I can't help more, but I struggled with the same things and just did the work with my Cutterbees.

I use to scrapbook all the pictures, but now, I'm much more likely to blow up a favorite and then print some others in wallet sizes if I need to fit a lot onto a single two-page layout. I take a lot of pictures, also, but I only print the ones that have a story behind them and if I have several similar, I pick the best. I couldn't afford to scrapbook every picture I take. :cool1:
That's what makes scrapping so much fun! We all have a slightly different take on it and each album is going to be different. So much of our personalities go into each page we do.

I really like the "fairy tale" theme you used throughout the book - unique touch! The part that said "and the princess cried until the prince let her plan another trip" cracked me up! Thanks for sharing!
